Holly knew what was going to look good and altered the dress to be more flattering. She did a great job!

This was off just having a terrible experience with some shirts getting butchered by the local dry cleaner, so I wanted a more professional take. I walked in completely clueless on a whim, tactlessly not making an appointment, and even though it was Juan's lunchbreak he still immediately took the time to see me and work with me. That said... let the man eat. Don't interrupt his break! I still feel bad about it!!! About the tailoring: Juan is just That Dude. He WILL make you look better and point out ways to make the clothes better compliment your body that others don't even know about. The pricing felt extremely fair and not at all like I was being overcharged for the amount and quality of work being done. Not only that, Juan did me a solid by getting the alterations done in-time with a big move out of state. Last minute, off of a random walk-in, and brother still treated me like I was a long time regular. And matter of fact, even though I'm going to be living down south I WILL still be getting my nicest clothing tailored by Juan. That's what his work is worth to me. 10/10 will be making sure I get my nephews' first suits tailored by him too

If you're looking for a top-tier tailor in Midtown Manhattan, Alterations.com should be at the top…read moreof your list. Head tailor Juan Cuello is exceptionally skilled and relentlessly professional--he simply won't stop until the fit is perfect. Over the past six years, I've brought him around a dozen off-the-rack suits, and he has consistently transformed them to look and feel like high-end made-to-measure pieces. The difference in drape, balance, and overall silhouette is remarkable. I've used other tailors for alterations, but none come close to Juan's level of precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. He takes real pride in his work, and it shows in every finished garment. Juan is truly one of a kind.

Two months later, I returned to have two more pairs tailored, and this time he charged $30 per pair. I mentioned that two months ago the price was $20, not $30. He responded, "Okay, then don't be my guest," and rudely told me to leave. I was just trying to understand why the prices went up and he basically kick me out of his store. I left the store immediately. I will never go back.

I love this place but a few pointers for new people…read more 1) If you cannot deal with old world/old school attitude this might not be the place for you. They are blunt. I have been in there when people are told what they do not want to hear and complain the customer service is bad. They are just really blunt. 2) This kind of bleeds into the first point but the unfortunate reality is just because you spent a lot of money on a dress/clothing it does not make it quality. We want to think that as a consumer but at the end of the day a lot of bridesmaid dresses/ dresses from department stores for weddings are made super cheap and they let you know it because the quality of the garment is what gives them space to work. 3) It looks kind of messy in there and you NEED TO KEEP YOUR TICKET. A lot of us are used to modern computers but they are not functioning like that, this is a local, elder owned business. This is legitimately like going to a business in 1965, it has charm but you need to sort of feed into that and do it their way. 4) Give them time. The modern world is rush rush rush, but like I said this place is old school. I have personally bought multiple dresses here, some cheap, some very expensive. I never had a problem with the fit or service. This is not to say they are perfect but I think if you want a no frills alteration process I love them. Plus, Yvonne is hilarious if that's your humor.
