We've been here a couple of times. I brought two dresses to be shortened and men's slacks to be shortened as well. She is straightforward which I appreciate and gets the job done right and usually within a week or two. However, please check your clothes before you walk out. We noticed there was a stain on the back of the pants :( We hope it comes off while washing it off. read more

I recently brought Linda a winter coat I needed its hood's lining changed. I bought fabric that best matched the outside of my coat and asked Linda to remove the original shiny lining and replace it. She did a wonderful job and I like my coat better now. See photo of before and after! read more

Linda does very, very good work and her prices are really the same as any other tailor.It took her 12 days to hem 7 shirt sleeves and 4 pant legs . I am skeptical about a place that you have to knock on her door window to get in when a door bell is less than $20.00. and No Business phone only her cell and it is always unavailable and/or the mailbox is always full. In 2011, I brought in two dresses for alterations. The alteration on the one dress was great. The other dress, a Valentino, was not altered well and the label from the Valentino dress was removed. This was around 12 years ago but I don't trust this place. At the time it had happened, I called about it but no one seemed to try to help me. I ended up donating the dress to goodwill because I wouldn't be able to make money off of a non labeled, poorly altered dress. This may be an example of why people say "Bayonne leave it alone" and "14 A stay away." read more

I was very much impressed by the speed of service and the good communication I received from the owner. See told me she would text me when the jackets were ready which she did do and informed me exactly when they would be available. Ms. Hong has never given me a reason to doubt her services in my 4-5 years of visiting her. So long as you're specific and communicative about what you need to get done, she always gets it done. They're called Best Alteration off of W. 30th St, and Broadway in Bayonne, NJ--can't miss their bright orange sign. I've always passed by on the way to work but never really got curious to try it until I had a sudden urge to get some of my shirts altered at different places to find the right one. This was one of the three I ventured to try. They advertise "Expert tailoring and alteration for all types" including Ladies & Men's suits, bridal alterations, leather, uniforms, and custom jewelry in addition to pants and shirts. I came in on a Saturday to get a short sleeved collared shirt altered to my fit. Pretty spacious work space for them, but probably 1/4th the size of a bed room for actual customer space. Was greeted by a nice Korean lady who I assume runs the shop on her own. Asked her to take in my shirt at the sleeves and at the sides. She took her time on the pinning process as opposed to elderly men tailors around the vicinity who effortlessly pin shirts as if they were in a rush. Didn't talk much like all the other tailors, but she showed she was very meticulous in getting the fit right. During the pinning process she would twist and turn the shirt around from the waist to make sure there was just enough give to give a real FITTED look while still remaining comfortable -- she even told me to walk around the shop and sit down on a chair to see if it got tight at certain spots so she could make adjustments on the pinning process. Got the shirt back on Thursday (5 day turnover from Saturday) between 3PM and 7PM. Tried it on, and fits perfectly, while still being roomy enough to move actively (while buttoned up). Checked to see where and how she altered the sides, and found out she kept/duplicated the original hem, seemingly making it look like it was originally made that way --which I REALLY LIKE. The price was definitely reasonable: about $17 for slimming down sleeves and taking it in at the torso. WILL DEFINITELY be BRINGING all my good collared shirts here again for a close fit. Can't wait to get my pants (hopefully jeans) and blazers fitted here as well. Doesn't hurt also to learn a little to throw in a little korean here and there to relax the seamstress a bit! read more

I obtained alterations to a silk gown I was wearing for a wedding. The dress was long so I need the hem to be altered. To my surprise it was completed prior to the date I had scheduled for pick up and it was perfect. The tailoring was impecable and the service was fantastic. I brought many clothes to her for about 2 years so far and she never fails to impress me! Not only does she fix clothes so perfectly but she has the softest heart as well. She takes her time and fixes the clothes as I want her to. If she can't fix it on time, she'll even text me saying that she will need more time! I mean like what alteration store texts customers? Hack job on two pairs of men's dress pants. I bring in two brand new pairs of dress pants that need the bottoms taken care of and one pair that I need the waist taken out on. The waist pair was done properly. for the other two, she says she can take the measurements of length from the other pair (which fit perfectly in length) so she doesn't even have me try them on and take chalk markings. I'm skeptical but based on the other two glowing yelp reviews I move forward. I got the pants home and they're at least an inch too short and even seem to ride higher in the back over the heel. Just a really poor and unprofessional job. I'm debating whether to bring them back or just take them to a real shop. Either way I'm just hoping she left enough extra so they can be fixed (doesn't really appear so upon inspection). read more
