Be aware... after my parents, who submitted their contract n request to switch their t.v. and phone to them back on 1/4/16, they did get super fast service in connecting the t.v. and it works. But for the phone part...it was not as good. Update. .. the phone finally got connected after losing connection for 2 days and after numerous phone calls. It all works fine. Would of really made a diff if they could have provided faster service. 3 stars for at least helping us solve the problem and things are working fine. I hope there will be no more issues. Update, September 2016 Issues were resolved a few days later. It seems like they made an efford in improving customer service. Another issue arose a few weeks ago, and it was resolved after 5 days. I joined I TALK BB since 2007 so I am a long time customer. I like your original program because my relatives can call from China even though I paid for the services here in USA without extra fee. The Plan is called Global Unlimited Plan connected to my Home phone land-line only with a oversea call back #950..., the annual fee of $299.00. But since WE CHAT was very popular and I have been using it to communicate with my friends and relatives in China, I did not used this service but put it as an emergency service when needed. Due to ITBB reputation and their constant calling and emailing me to ask how is the service and to tell me about promotions, I did not change company since 2007. Recently , my relatives tried to call me using ITBB lane line, it did not go through. They informed me only through WE CHAT. I cannot believe my most trusted ITBB disconnected my call back #950 which is my oversea long distance service. for over 6 years ago since 2004 without asking the Permission of me the Customer but Continued to charged the same amount of $299.00 a year Totaling $1800.00 for 6 years. The Land Line Home phone should only be charged $5.00 per month or $60.00 per year in your programs. So I should have paid only $ 360 Total for the last 6 years. This is a serious violation of Customers rights and dishonesty. The manager on the phone I talked to, Ms Xie, told me No matter who I talked to will give me the same answer when I requested to talk to higher management after she was not able to help me too much . She only later agreed to give me 3 months of Free discounts at the end of the next 2 years Totaling only $149.50. This is so obviously unreasonable compensation of possible fraud treatment of customer. Is ITBB treating Chinese customers like this as a Chinese company....? Are you proud of your business methods ? They are liar, they told me I can cancel anytime when I signed up, but whEn I try to cancel they charge my credit card 130 early termination fee with out my permission. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I tried ITalkBB service and decided to cancel within the 30 days trial period. I called in the morning and took 38 minutes for someone to promise to call me back to cancel my account, they put rush for me as I work night shift and would need to sleep during the day. After 5 hours and nobody called me. I called them again, they said 24 to 48 hours they will call me back. Cancelling service shouldn't take this much time. It shows that they have very poor customer service. read more

I have been using iTalkBB's phone service since 2007 and I recently cancelled my service. Here is what happened to me since 2 years ago: every time my parents made an international call, the call will be cut off at random times. I called iTalkBB service and they did something on their backend to try to make things better. Things did not get better. I asked if they should provide a more updated box to me because the one I have been using is 8 years old already..... I was told that since I have bought the box (it was the only option in 2007) they would not be able to ship me the new box. I will have buy another box. I have to say, their customer service was OK. They told me what they have done in the backend. As an IT person, it made sense. After that phone call, my parents told me the calls did not get cut off as frequently but the quality went down. there are statics. Recently, we finally decided to that we want to get out of iTalkBB phone service and just use Google Voice instead. After all, Google Voice is cheaper, more flexible, and a lot higher quality. And here is how things went south: iTalkBB tried their best to keep me on their service, which I can totally understand. Our mind is made up, we are switching. So, I patiently told them again, again and again that I just want to cancel. Finally, they gave up. but then they told me that the phone box belongs to them and I had to ship it back to them within 15 days or they will charge me $59.99. I was like, what? I own the phone box, that is why yall would not give me a new one 2 years ago. They told me there must be a mistake because they should be able to give me a new one. I said "OK. That was 2 years ago. The fact is they told me no. So, let's not focus on the past. The issue we have now is you asked me to return the box that I have paid for." Then iTalkBB person, it is a her, said they have reimbursed me in a monthly base from 2008-2009. My answer to her was "I paid for the box. you decided to reimburse me, that is iTalkBB's decision. It does not change the fact that I bought the box. It is like you go shopping, and bought a skirt. Then the company told you they will pay you back for the skirt for some reason. You accepted it. But then you found out the skirt doesn't fit you so you went go return it, but come to find out you need to pay the company back for the shirt if you are returning it. That doesn't even make sense." Then that person went on to try to rationalize iTalkBB's behavior. And here is the kicker. They want original condition of their equipment, including the internet wire. I almost laughed my butt off. It has been 10 years in my case. I moved 3 times in the past 10 years. An internet cable wire is an internet cable wire. No one cares about original or not as long as it works. Not to mention that the wire may not work anymore after 10 years. At the end, I simply told her "Look, it will only cost me around $5 to ship you back this 10 year old equipment that I have no use. I would simply take it to the electronic center and recycle it. If you want this junk back, I WILL ship this junk back to you. Please note that our conversation has taught me that I will never ever return to iTalkBB anymore because iTalkBB simply do not have any integrity. This $5 will also earn iTalkBB my honest opinion on all the possible online review website I can find. I am not upset at you. You are just following what was given to you. The problem lies in the whole philosophy and culture of iTalkBB. I will not trust iTalkBB and I will not give a penny to iTalkBB moving forward. Again, I am sorry you will have to take the blunt comments from me. If you do not truly believe iTalkBB's way of doing business. I don't think you are happy in what you are doing. If that is the case, I hope you find a better job soon. Your patience to me and your insistence for keeping customers will earn you a much better job in a much better company. I went to China 4 months ago and subscribed two lines of iTalkBB. Home line was must added even I said I do not need. During in China, we just use one line in China. The data was not enough at all, we had to pay more than $30/month extra to get a little bit more data. I called the line once, someone else answered the phone (mess up number). And the line always noisy, the voice was low and not clear. When we came back to USA, we found that the US line is T-mobile service, and there was no signal in our area. We went to a local iTalkBB service station and terminated the service. The agent printed a return form for me for the home line (brand new, not used at all.). After that, my credit card called me there were a fraud charge on the card. The card was terminated and replaced. Now, iTalkBB are asking me fees for stopping service while I had so many complaints. I hate them. The service is so so until you actually need to talk to a real person. Then you are put into phone tree hell. Everything option I pressed, including the "questions about billing" option route you back to the website. And speaking of the website: They navigate everything via an 889 number and god forbid you lose that number because you will be unable to do anything including log into the site. There is no option to email support and no way to have them send you your 889 number. You are just stuck in limbo. In the mean time, their automatic billing happily charges away while you have no service. If I could give them zero stars, I would. They are so so frustrating. read more

I am kind surprised to see there is one star review here. I am loyal customers of iTalkBB. My parents have been using the phone service for almost 5 years from now. They are very happy with that, so they continue to be their TV customers, which is pretty awesome actually. I don't really know any other brand besides iTalkBB which provides Chinese TV in high quality. It's always nice to sit on the coach with my parents and watch China Voice together. My guess is that this kind of moments will fade away with time gradually. ITalkBB really provide critical services that truly help Chinese families in foreign countries. It is a good brand with reliable products. I will surly introduce it to every Chinese families live outside their home country. read more

If you think the call quality is bad, just wait until you try to cancel the service. The cancel department is always busy. Once you call and cancel your service, make sure you send the box to them in 15 days, otherwise you will be charged $60. This is their company policy. read more

ITALKBB is a very DISHONEST company from my experience. They deserve none star if yelp allows. Their saleswoman charge my credit card without my permission. That behavior is a crime! I called them almost everyday for a refund. They just said it's been processing but they were just saying to end my call. I waited for more than 3 weeks still no refund! I subscribed for its home phone service last month. I had tried lots of ways to connect with my family back to home with wechat, idd card, and prepaid calling cards. All of them unable to satisfied me until I found ItalkBB. It is much easy to use as you just need to hit the number and you will be connect back to home. Also, they now have this ItalkBB app that makes things work under my fingertips. I could call my parents easily without sticking with my home phone. Every time they heard that I wanted to close they always said the ppl who is in charge of closing accounts are busy and would call back. I agreed to test iTalkBB free for a month per sale lady. My current Magic Jack Plus also use VoIP and the trail allows apple to apple comparison. After 20+ days, the quality is a little bit better than Magic Jack Plus, but it is still with breakages. During this period, I also call support to asks various questions. They are not available 24/7. At the end, I cancelled the trial and returned the equipment, since Magic Jack Plus is still more cost effective for us. However, I did not see the refund charged on the first day of the trial. After one and half months. I called the support, she asked me to check my credit card receipt. But there was no credit back at all in the previous 2 month history. Therefore, I requested the proof on iTalkBB side to show a refund transaction reference ID with a date and amount. After a long discussion, she agreed to send the information via email. I examined the record, it is the the monthly charge on the first date of my trial. I replied "not acceptable" to support and another representative named "June" agreed they made a mistake and will work on that. I have been with ItalkBB for a while for their phone service. Recently, I received an email alert from this company to confirm that I had requested to cancel my phone number and service. I was astonished because I never did it. I called the customer service to ask what was going on. I was told that the company did not know what happened at all. Today, ItalkBB called me that my phone service was not cancelled at all and mentioned "that's it". No sorry, no apology at all! ItalkBB's voice quality is not consisent, sometimes good, sometimes not. I am trying tranfer my phone number to a new carrier, but they direct the new carrier to the third party Level3 communication, which had wrong of my home address given by ItalkBB. italkBB has the worst service. When experienced an issue on phone connection, customer service line is always busy, so we have to dial the sales line to obtain tech support. I feel like they are only interested on new customers, and don's care about too much on existing customers. The calls easily get dropped, so we have to dial again and again. I had iTalkBB for several years. The service is good in general until you call Customer Service to cancel the service and the Customer Service sucks. They would show you how easy it is to get the phone/TV services at the store but when it comes to canceling the services, they have gone out of their way to make it difficult. First, there is the stupid automated phone system that asks you to press "2" every 30 seconds to continue when you're waiting to be connected to a representative. Alright, how many times did I have to press "2" on a 10 minute wait? Then there is the Customer Rep that tells you either she'll call back (but never did) or tells you to call back because I'm not calling from the phone that I'm going to disconnect. Go figure! Can't set up voicemail, website not working, customer service reps cannot understand enough English to write down your email properly, and now that I want to switch back to Vonage they are holding my number hostage. Customer service sucks! I ordered their phone and TV service online and was told to go to Fremont store to pick up the boxes, so that I can save $15 shipping fee. Arrived at Fremont store, they told me they can't just give me the boxes (eventhough I have the order numbers and was instructed to do so). They reluctantly gave me the TV box. The reason is their box inventory is low and can't fulfill online orders. Ok, got home and called customer service and reported the problem. Customer service insisted charging me $10 to ship out the phone box even though I attempted to pick up. Got an email that my box was shipped out on 10/1. Waited for 2 weeks still no box. I checked the tracking number they provide, the box was delivered in FL!!! I live in CA, not FL! No wonder I haven't rec'd the box. Called the customer service again, they told me to call in next day to process cancellation. What? I just want to get my box. This company deserves an F- rating. Their sales representative at the entrance of the Pleasanton Ranch 99 Store misrepresented the TV streaming service. I've only had them since mid Dec 2014, mainly for my parents when they visit, and it never worked beyond watching one episode or movie. Forget about calling the customer service line because it is non existent; a joke. The automated message just loops around in Chinese and if you need English the call drops off. By Feb 2015 I had enough and requested to cancel the TV service and they are refusing to terminate the account unless I pay over $100 in termination fees. They claim that I have an one year telephone contract even though I never agreed, authorized, or signed up for it. I already paid the one time $49.99 initial sign-up fee, the 3 months of $9 monthly charge for a product that never worked. They refuse to cancel my account even though I had called, emailed and returned their equipment. I would caution anyone to have any business dealings with this company. The technology is a sham, the sales rep fraudulently misrepresented the type of service and the customer service is deplorable. I wished I would have researched them on-line and read all the other complaints logged on various sites. read more
