Trash service and reliability. Terrible sales, billing and customer service. They're thieves and I hope this business goes under.

They took over a well-oiled machine from Paxio and turned it into a fickle jalopy of internet service. I never had this much downtime and maintenance from Paxio. The disruptions are frequent and too many times have made my home server unreachable while traveling. Most of the time the service resumes, but on occasion I've had to have a neighbor or relative enter my home and reset the connection for me. Super effing inconvenient! Also, there is no roadmap for connections faster than 1 Gigabit, even while even more worthless competitors like Xfinity and AT&T offer 2.5 and even 5 Gigabit. And lastly, they increased their rates a few months ago. They offered a discount if you paid for a year in advance, but offered no way to do that online. It wasn't until I contacted customer service, that they gave me the details of how to do so: by writing a physical check and sending it to a physical address, no ACH or Credit Card options (which are available to those who pay monthly). Like, I'm boomer AF, so I still have a few checks laying around, but who else in 2025 still has a checkbook? When it works, I'm grateful, but internet service is binary. I just need it to work. Been with Sail for 5+ years now. I'm getting the advertised speed and reliable service. They do scheduled maintenance once in a while, but it's very late night and hasn't been a big deal. I kept hoping one of those updates would mean a speed bump, but not yet. I did see another review where someone mentioned almost 1 Gbps up and down -- guessing that's not residential. I've had Sail Internet for a few months now, could not be happier. Price is excellent, speed is roughly 900MB up & down consistently, and uptime is quite good. On the uptime front, Sail does message users ahead of time when scheduled maintenance is going to happen, usually in the wee hours of the morning. Never in my life have I had such a hard time with a customer service agent. The installation process and the experience thus far has been great. However, I experienced a outage that I could not troubleshoot, and I called customer service for help. However, the agent had a not-so-good attitude, which said I did not appreciate. For which he apologized by blaming it on me. For example, he said the box should have 3 cables. Mine had two. He insisted there were 3 over and over, implying that I had a significant lack of knowledge or experience in troubleshooting. Two of my relatives were with me and also confirmed the two cables, yet he kept insisting there are 3 and that we were mistaken in an exasperated tone. I have always had pleasant experiences with customer service agents, so this was quite shocking. He also did not explain things well. Only after repeated clarification questions could follow his directions. We ultimately were not able to fix the outage due to the cable situation. Hopefully, other agents are more helpful than this one, and only I have had this unpleasant experience. Otherwise, the internet service and installation process is great, I have had no other issues. read more

Horrible accounting department spoiled everything! 1. After 20 days of installation I received the first bill and told me I was late to payment! And setup first payment took 2 weeks, and I was getting many reminders! 2. After first payment received, I got another notice that I was late to payment again. It turned out I needed to pay two month because it is not an utility company based on usage. It is a SUBSCRIPTION company that you pay monthly fee ahead of service! :-)) 3. I setup automatic payment from my bank account every month. One day during company conference call, line DISCONNECTED. It turned out that accounting department was on holiday break and did not clear my payment on time, service terminated automatically! What a nonsense!! 4. After the first year, I got a LATE payment notice. It turned out to be they increased $10. But I never received any notice so that I can reschedule my monthly payment! 5. After they received $10 difference payment, during a customer conference call, line was DISCONNECTED again! Instead of paying one month of $10 difference, I needed to pay 2 months of $20 difference. But, there was no additional $10 invoice from Sail Internet. I am at point to CANCEL their service just to let the company management to know their accounting is such an incompetent and nonsense department! That accounting would be the champion counting BACKWARDS among AT&T, Comcast, DirectTV, PG&E, Alameda water, Republic Sanatory, etc. I am compelled to write this negative review because completely fed up! i couldn't be happier with my decision to switch from google fiber to sail internet. it's blazing fast, and the installation was a breeze. i called them yesterday after yet another google fiber outage, and today, after a very professional installation by Dominic, i'm back up and running. I was impressed by Dominic's expertise and by his kindness. I was so excited when he was finished, i gave him a hug. He made sure that everything was working correctly and optimally before he left and made sure i had a way to contact him if i had any questions or needed further assistance. the other piece that impressed me was that when you call, you get an actual person on the phone. everyone i've talked to and everyone who has helped me was kind, patient, and professional. there is no ai gatekeeper when you call, just a phone tree that rings you to an actual person. what a breath of fresh air! thank you also to Sree, who took excellent care of me when i called to set up my new service. i 100% recommend Sail Internet to anyone looking for fast speeds and excellent customer service! read more

Previously had Paxio internet service and then this company took over. Ever since service has been horrible. Frequent outages, slow repair, poor communication. As I'm typing this there's a lingering outage after so called planned maintenance first thing in the morning. Now customer service isn't answering the phone. Having had issues with xfinity several times per week and consistently being transferred to their VIP Retention Specialists (closers), I decided to call around to local based ISP's. I just got off the phone with Victor and while I found out that they don't currently serve my area, I couldn't be happier with the interaction. It took me less than 2 minutes to get someone live on the phone and it felt nice getting to speak with someone nearby. I have had sail internet for about a month now and I am satisfied with the service. I contacted the company via online to schedule a 4 hour appointment. My service installer was Edwin who walked me through the process. He checked the signal strength on roof (down and up speeds) and verified if that okay with me. Next, he installed the antenna, then ran the cabling from the roof to a wall plate in my room where it connected to POE injector and my router. Right after installation, I did submit a ticket to get my antenna configured due to a connection issue, but that was settled within a few hours remotely (not a big issue, thanks to Mark and Taylor). The service is a good value for $55 a month. I am getting about 100 Mbps (down) and 100 Mbps (up) which is good in comparison to other providers with ~20ms ping. In the past, I had comcast Xfinity (coaxial) for 60-80$ with 80 Mbps (down) and 20 Mbps (up) (ok ping), but a lot of unplanned outages (2-3 a week). Also prior, I had T-Mobile 5G wireless, which was reliable, but their modems were not priority connections, so the speeds can get slow, varying 8-100Mbps (down) and 8Mbps (up) with bad ping (60-500ms). If you decided on sail internet, I recommend searching up 'sail internet network status' and following their email alerts. Once in a while, they schedule maintenance (early AMs), so its nice to be informed on that. read more

We use Sail internet at our company. It has been good for about a year, but our internet was down all yesterday which is a disaster for a manufacturing company. They sent someone over who couldn't fix it. After many calls to service a representative said they would send over a temporary system while their primary connection was down. Coming in the next day and still NO INTERNET, no temporary service, and I had to call them to complain and try to get temporary service again. If they don't improve this service, they won't be around long. I'm updating my review and Sail restored our service at 10:30am today. They were good about it and offered to credit us (which is good), but service needs to be better for business customers relying on the connection. read more

I've been using Sail Internet in Santa Clara for about 6 months now. They provide faster speeds for less cost than the competition's standard rates (without deals) so it's a great value. Unfortunately the connection is not reliable enough if you depend on having constant use of the Internet (like WFH). We always have multiple network losses throughout the day, sometimes multiple per hour which last from a short period of time to several minutes. As I'm writing this (1pm on a Wednesday) I've had network losses 3 times in the past hour (with a duration of 1-2 mins on average)... If you work from home, do online streaming or depend on video-calling this is definitely NOT FOR YOU. If you watch content on demand (YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, etc) or stream music and could tolerate drops or wait times because of constant network loss then think twice. Support is responsive though, we have an ongoing ticket with the support team since March, we've had someone visiting once to check the setup and found "a pinched wire" but after replacing that it didn't fix the issue. I'm starting to consider other alternatives, even if they offer lower speeds, reliability is key if you depend on the availability of the Internet. read more

We have had Sail for about a month now and it has been great. Xfinity theoretically has faster speeds but it never worked that way for us because our home is older and the lines into the home had degraded over time. We had been advised by Xfinity that they could only be replaced at great expense to us because they were paved over. Until this company showed up we had no alternatives except to either deal with the constant issues or shell out money. Sail doesn't use these, so for our house least, it's been more reliable and the speed is more than enough for any activities like gaming. The installation process was easy, the tech was friendly and walked up through the process of setting up monitoring etc. There is even an actual person when you call customer service and we were able to get a replacement cable for some equipment the same day when our cat chewed it. The price is excellent compared to what we were paying. I am so glad someone else finally is offering a choice of services in an area where we previously only had access to one carrier. read more

Sail internet is simply awesome. The service is great. Frontend and backend offices are responsive in providing answers and requests. Internet connection is up 99.9% of time in the last couple of years ever since I've become customer. There is no fidgety nonsense modem, no endless hours on the phone with customer service rep in India. Down event is well communicated and explained. The internet speed is decent and good enough for everything you need to do. Higher speed is nice but has yet commercially available. Shout out to the two installers who I had the pleasure of meeting are Jeff and Sonny. They showed up on time on appointment date. I had to wait a year before they came to my area, but dang was it worth the wait. I switched immediately. More than twice the speed for almost half the price. What idiot wouldn't jump? Be aware that they need to put a dish on your roof for their internet system to work. I was lucky that their node was within line-of sight with my roof, some very tall trees were nearby that made only one spot on my roof possible. Be using this service for over three years. It's so far the best broadband service I tried. I was not happy with AT&T DSL program, the bandwidth is limited. I decided that Infinity broadband was not good enough for me, especially during the pandemic, after so many disconnections in video conferences. At that time I was looking for Fiber programs. Unfortunately, AT&T/Google don't offer fiber services in my neighborhood. When I checked that Sail Internet offers a fiber-like service, with the last mile over Wireless local loop, I decided to try it. Just installed my sail today. The service guy is very professional and came on time. The test speed was close to 200mb/100mb at the beginning. But it drops to 100~150mb/50~70mb later. As a former Comcast captive, I was thrilled when Sail became available in my neighborhood and this was 3 years ago. I couldn't recommend Sail more highly. The service has been mostly reliable and outages tend to be infrequent and very short. Speed is fantastic, both up and down and best of all, no data caps! The icing on the cake is their support. Their support team deserves high praise for being very responsive and very accountable (they stick with it until the issue is resolved) in resolving any issues that may come up. Recently, my Internet slowed to a crawl and didn't recover after a while. I contacted support on Saturday via email, they responded very quickly, ran tests on their end and dispatched a technician on Monday who resolved the issue for me. read more

I have been a Sail customer for the last couple of years - first in a condo in Santa Clara and then in Fremont since last year. When I moved to single family house I was promised 100Mbps download and I have been consistently getting close to this speed. Recently I had some issues where the internet would disconnect for couple of minutes and it would come back by itself. Before I could reach out to customer support, Rodrigo from Sail reached out to let me know that they have a new relay in Fremont and can re-align my antenna for better performance.
