The install was quick and before I knew it I was experiencing faster internet. For someone who enjoys multitasking (playing video games and watch Netflix) - this was important. I appreciate that they allowed me the option to pay my invoice annually. They also schedule maintenance at off hours as to not disrupt peoples day. Definitely one of the better local Internet services I have used in California. Had the service available in my rented unit for 3 years in Downtown San Jose apartment building. Had minimal outage, experienced only 2 outages myself in midnight hours during 3 year service duration. The frequent network outages are a critical issue. Particularly in the winter, the internet cuts out almost daily for durations ranging from a few minutes to several hours, especially when it rains. Even outside of winter, the internet goes down several times a month. This is highly problematic when working from home. When the connection is stable, the speed is around 200Mbps for both upload and download. The upload speed is notably better than Xfinity, but the download speed is slower. read more

Signed up for internet service earlier this year, and until recently had been pleased with the relatively speedy symmetrical service to my residence, and the reasonable pricing. However, in the past week this has turned completely backwards as I have experienced three separate outages, the first of which knocked out service mid workday, and the second which I woke up to ahead of a busy schedule of remote meetings. I am now typing this review as service has failed a third time. To add insult to injury, Willoweb appears to have no support staff or technicians available outside of weekday business hours, which considerably amplifies the reliability problems. The first outage wasn't fixed by 5 PM, so it wasn't resolved until the next business day, for instance. Furthermore, service has not been particularly good - I've gotten inconsistent answers as to the root cause of the outages and empty platitudes about the remediations performed to prevent additional ones Particularly as I am now looking forward to a weekend of internet service that I've paid for but cannot use, I am disappointingly needing to return to Xfinity or AT&T, which for all of their faults know how to operate a network. It's terribly disappointing that these reliability issues ruin an otherwise good experience, but reliable internet is non-negotiable for a remote worker; sequential outages like this are simply unacceptable. read more

This is my third year with Willoweb and I continue to be impressed. They are a boutique service and give great customer service. Whenever I send an email, I get a quick response back from one of their Founders. Even though it's a fixed wireless provider, the speeds and latency are excellent, with single digit millisecond pings to certain sites within the city, and ~20ms pings to CloudFlare from my location in Downtown San Jose. Willoweb became available in Morgan Hill a few months ago, and I tried the service based on their two week free trial. Having been forced to be a Spectrum customer for five years and being nickel and dimed for measly 100/25 Mb/s I was blown away by the speed of Willoweb! I'm regularly seeing well over 350/350 Mb/s with very low latency. Using YoutubeTV for regular "cable" there's never any lag and streaming iTunes/HBO/Netflix/Disney+/AppleTV+ everything always streams in full 4K HDR DolbyVision with no hick-ups even while some computers in the house are doing full speed Backblaze online backups to the cloud. During the atmospheric river downpour event a few weeks ago PG&E lost electricity in some parts of MH which affected the service, but the support was super responsive and the outage was resolved quickly. Otherwise it's been rock solid. Highly recommended especially since there's no contract, no data caps, no hidden fees and the monthly price can't be beat. read more

After a year using WilloWeb as my internet provider, I renewed for one more year. Satisfied with their service. From when Tom installed in person to make sure everything is good to go to any diligent maintenance fixes (updates shared via email from founder), they have been reliable, friendly and responsive. I think I can only think of a few planned outages while others in my building write on the forum every quarter about why Comcast has shut off during the workday or at peak hours. Saved me during Covid-19! WilloWeb saved me from the virtual monopoly Comcast has in Santa Cruz. Comcast offered 600mps down which is more than I needed but I had to get more speed than I needed if I wanted a lousy 10mbs upload speed. My practice is almost entirely on video so this meant freezes, audio problems and dropped videos with Comcast's high latency in this area. Enter WilloWeb to the rescue. They made a deal with the building owner and installed a tiny line of sight dish so that we could have could have adequate throughput. I was the first customer in my complex and they used the existing DSL wiring (on which ATT offered 1.5 to 3 mbs speeds--Great late 90's nostalgia) and replaced the outlet with a direct to customer ethernet port. Yay--no DSL or cable box modem rental or power sink. Just straight, smooth 200mbs and above symmetrical internet--they even helped me install my own top-of-the-line "gaming" WiFi 6 router that gives me excellent throughput on both floors! Things slow down a little during peak usage periods, for a couple of minutes at 7:30 service went down over WiFi 6 on a 3g iPadPro to 140-160 symmetrical, but by 7:40 it was back up to 260 MB's symmetrical, with 6ms ping .58 jitter and 0% packet loss or minimal latency! Great throughput for tv, video conferences, etc. two people can easily video conference on both floors with no stutter, freeezes or drops caused by Comcast's high latency and pokey upload speeds. Two months free to help you decide there's no comparison! Best decision I've made in a long time to cut the cable--this speed plays wonderfully over Apple TV and YouTube TV and were having great TV and internet for $60 a month less--What's not to like? read more

I recently moved across San Jose and was intrigued to find an ISP that was not only local, but was offering an easy, no strings attached trial period. I decided to give it a shot and I am glad I did. Having had gigabit speeds from one of the 'Big' ISPs at my prior apartment, I was a bit nervous about their advertised speed (200mbps) at my location - they assured me that this was actually more like the minimum speed (up and down) and that my regular speed would most likely exceed this. While I loved the idea of a more honest product description, I am also a skeptic. I have tested their claim and both my download and upload are often multiples of the advertised speed. While WilloWeb will do the trick meeting your bandwidth needs, what I have been most surprised and pleased with is their incredible customer service. If I could give WilloWeb 6 stars I would in a heartbeat. We live in the Almaden foothills near Los Gatos and couldn't get high speed internet from any of the usual providers ... Comcast wanted $11,000 to run a cable to our house and ATT would only offer 1.5-3 Mbs DSL (with a low data cap) through the phone landline. We were paying close to $200 a month for crappy DSL with data overage charges. We found WilloWeb online and they created a custom line of sight dish system beaming super high speed internet to our house for a very reasonable investment. We are getting 400 Mbs (2 ms latency) continuosly. It is able to provide service for multiple 4k UHD TVS and about 15 devices on our mesh network simultaneously. We've only had a couple of minor losses of service and they were addressed immediately, fixed within 30 min. without intervention. The staff are exceptional - Max and Doug will formulate a great solution and deliver in a timely manner. This service has been a godsend during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place. It allows my kids to participate in online school/gaming/social activities and my husband and I to practice telemedicine, keeping our family safe during these uncertain times. We are now cutting the DirecTV cord because so many awesome streaming options are now available. My neighbors were so impressed they are now also WilloWeb clients.
