Unfortunately I would not recommend this business. While their monitoring services are ok their invoicing of services and administrative follow through is poor. Recently had to discontinue our monitoring services. Even after I complied by notifying them in writing 30 days in advance, I still got invoiced and paid for services post 30 days of notification. When I called back to complain was told they would look into it and let me know. When I had not heard back from them - over several weeks, I followed up again only to discover that a refund for prorated days was not approved. Terrible follow through, terrible customer service and worst of all, I paid for services not received. read more

I've been a client for over 10 years. In June the monitoring of my alarm system was not being done by them due to the phone company changing something (?). After numerous phone calls to try to rectify the situation I gave up because promised phone calls were not returned. I asked for a refund for services not rendered and was told that even though they were not (knowingly) providing service I still had to pay. When I asked how they could justify this I received an explanation that made no sense. They feel justified in charging for services not provided. I have been with All-Guard for over 20 years. We wanted to upgrade to a newer system with cellular backup. I talked to Sue in Sales she went over my system and suggested upgrades and we had additional sensors needed. Sue gave us a customer loyalty discount and scheduled the install. They couldn't have sent out a better tech Chris knew our system listened to our concerns and took the time to completely train us on the new alarm and the new app we wanted. Mid December we decided to switch our alarm system from landline to cellular/ internet monitoring. I called the office to ask if this would work with our system. I was told yes. A tech came out and informed us that it could only be monitored using the internet. We paid $120 for the service that day. A few weeks later we changed our internet & WiFi. (Sonic & Eero). We were told we had to pay $120 again to change the WiFi and enter a new password. The new tech now said it could be monitored using cellular. When he left both cellular & internet were working. Then the system started dropping the internet. I called Eero and they recommended putting the security system on the guest WiFi. I tried to confirm this by calling Resideo ( our alarm) but they couldn't help us due to password and privacy issues. They said all guard would have to call them for help. I called All Guard and they said I would have to pay $120 again. They ended up charging $70 to change the WiFi to the guest WiFi. I was told by the last tech that they are not network people. Then why are they switching systems from land line to WiFi!! They should have told me this from the start when I called. I could have gone with another company that knows how to do it. Ask a lot of questions before letting them install a wireless monitored security system! We have been customers over 35 years. We were happy until now. They were good with wired systems using a landline for monitoring. read more

We have been with All-Guard (AG) since the nineties. We decided to upgrade from the old, wired set-up to wireless + Bluetooth, and we are happy we did. It's nice to disarm from our upstairs bedroom in the morning rather than go downstairs and forget to disarm. The app has several other features in addition to arm/disarm. The installer, Keith, informed us what was happening at each stage and, as a consumer, I really appreciate this. He is detailed oriented and courteous. In short, he was wonderful. Our only complaint is the response time to arm/disarm while using the BT feature; it is very slow. We have the same app designer (they are not sync to each other) to run our A/C, and the response time is immediate. We use ATT for wi-fi; my wife has an Apple phone and I use a Samsung S22 Android, both less than one year old. Otherwise, we would give All-Guard 5 stars. read more

Since I'm investing in a monthly monitoring service, it only made sense to have a highly secured system in place. My overall experience with All-Guard has kept me a loyal customer since 2005. I've referred a handful of friends that are still loyal customers as well. That alone says it all! Don't be fooled by these $99 packages others are offering. Run! I wish I would've read reviews before signing a contract. Took over a business and was made aware of a bad sensor when I made the appointment to update my system i let them know i needed it fixed/replaced. I don't think they even checked it. The alarm goes off every day multiple times a day. I've gotten phone calls at 4 am. My app doesn't work so I can't disarm from home. They supposedly fixed it but all they did was make it so I don't get notified when it does go off so my landlord has had to come turn off the alarm. Now I'm forced to pay a minimum of $140 to get the sensor removed. read more

Bad service, Sales drags their feet, they are vindictive when you leave them. They reported to the Fire Department that they were not monitoring our properties when we switched to new better company the Fire Marshall kaughed when she found out they were monitoring medical pull stations & smoke detectors not fire systems. read more

To start with I did call and try and sort this out with All-Guard before this review. I have had an AG Security System installed at my business for 8 years. The monitoring service was good but the initial installation was just sloppy. There had been an existing system installed by the previous tenant. So they installed new keypads, hooked it up and it seamed to work and they left. That being said the connection boxes and magnetic switches didn't get cover plats and had exposed wires, it just looked sloppy. Fast forward eight years. I asked for a quote to buy a system upgrade including cameras and backup system. Although they're price was lower than the competitor I chose to go with the other company as I just wanted top notch workmanship and good quality camera's. When I called to cancel the monitoring service I was told I needed to cancel 30 days prior to my original contract date and I would be charged for 10 months of monitoring according to my original contract. Really who remember the terms of they're paperwork from eight years ago and cancels the service 30 days prior to that date. I called and tried to work it out and was told sorry our hands are tied. Really I know in my business keeping your customers happy can save you thousands in the long run. Why not try and work it out with a customer that has paid you $3,609.00 over eight years of monitoring services and charge them $233.10 to terminate the contract early? read more

For months trying to figure out why monitoring was not working. They tell me it is because ATT switched from 4g to 5g. So their equipment is not compatible which they sold to me! They were calling all odd hours including 3 am! Have been customer for 5 years and their system never worked. Now they wanted to signup for another 3 year contract so they replace the transmitter. They could have come and done and maybe I would still remain customer. When I decided to get another provider they never asked why or how they could keep business. They just wanted to get another of payment. For the same money i have better equipment and monitoring and I stop or switch anytime and no penalty. In this day and age business have moved on and they are guarding the old. Such a loser. read more

I recently had fire alarm installed with Al-Guard. Please make sure to pay attention to the contract before you sign. Their sales reps never reveal you that there is a 5 year agreement for monitoring and obviously they point to the agreement when you realize and ask about it. read more

Bought a home with pre installed alarm system from All-guard. Previous owner cancelled service, but the alarm was never taken down. We had a power outage, and the alarm system went crazy. We could not turn it off because all functions were locked out when it was deactivated. I called the company and they said nothing they can do. I requested what if I want to sign up with you now and pay for the technician to come and take it. They said no, I had to wait till next day!!! I had to find big screwdriver to yank the panel open and cut off the wires. Imagine if I had paid for their service and got nothing in return. Recommend all homeowners to avoid them at all cost. read more

I have had All Guard as my alarm company since 1992 at three different properties but did not start monitoring services until 2003. I have nothing but positive remarks about the system and monitoring services. I have also required battery replacement for the main box every five years or so and sensor batteries only a few times and have always, (1) had phone calls regarding each notification/malfunction (loss of signal, low battery, etc.) as well as a couple times that I accidently set the alarm off and received calls immediately (one time a police man actually came to my door to check on the house!), and (2) had excellent technicians perform the service. Today, however, I needed all sensor batteries replaced as they kept failing one by one over the last couple of months - at which time, I received a call notifying me of every one as they occurred and the rep. put those sensors in test mode so I wouldn't keep being notified until I could make an appointment. So, today, Keith showed up to replace the batteries and was very knowledgeable, prepared, efficient, respectful of me and my property, courteous, personable - and had a sense of humor to boot!! We have been a customer of All-Guard (AG Security Services) for over 20 years and for all of that time I would have ranked them as a 5. Then we had our first break in and now giving them a 1 is being charitable. They did absolutely none of the things they were supposed to do and tried to blame me by claiming I had given out my password--I had not--in spite of the fact that entrance to the house was through a smashed door and the alarm continued sounding long after the intruders left the scene. They never volunteered to send someone to see if the equipment malfunctioned nor would they refund any of the advance payment I had just made. I feel that they failed totally in dealing with the actual break in ( If they called the home and got no answer they did not call the backup number-did not call the police-contended that the alarm was off even though my neighbors were in the street because of the alarm- my neighbors contacted me-I called my backup number who discovered the broken door and called the police-etc) as well as in dealing with me after the break in. I may be wrong but it seems that they are just treating their fixed wire installations as a cash cow and are spending as little as possible on modern wireless equipment and don't really care if along the way they loose a few customers who receive terrible service. Slightly altering the commercial of the man who found he could sell his life insurance policy--"We cancelled our lousy service company." This is not a good company to deal with if there is any possibility you might have a break in. read more

I've been paying for an "annual maintenance plan" for over 10 years. I rarely call for service, but when I called them to help with a malfunctioning sensor earlier this month, they said they would not cover the service call under my maintenance plan. The reason they gave was that I should have called them before I tried to fix the problem myself. The only problem I had with fixing it myself was I re-installed the sensor the wrong way. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a new alarm monitoring company who has better customer service. read more

Have had All-Guard Alarm services for more than ten years. They are a quality company. Our alarm system stopped working several weeks ago and Keith came out to inspect our system. The circuit board that needed replacement is hard to find, but All-Guard sourced a new panel. Today Keith came out and installed it. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Downgraded. Lost 2 stars. We've had AllGuard for about 17 years or so. They've always been reasonable, efficient and reliable. I'm a little ticked off that my system threw a fault last week and that's when I realized the new sensors were not yet identified on the panel, so I didn't know which fault was giving us trouble, it just had a number. I was told by the installer when he was here, that the identification had to be done back at the office and that it was past business hours and it would get done the next day. Apparently it was never done :( I called last week to get these changes implemented and I was told they would have to come out again to program these. So, they want to charge me more money (labor and call out fee) to do something that he should have been done when he was here. Or, I can upgrade my panel (we just got a new one less than 6 months ago) or get a home phone (land line) installed so that they can do it remotely. I'd love to know why all the sudden there are all these expensive charges. And for an incomplete job. Very unhappy now. I've made a sticky so I know what is what when the next fault happens. read more

Very disappointed after 6 years of loyalty to this company, poor customer service and does not communicate well at all .

I contracted All-Guard alarm for a simple install in an apartment on the top of Nobhill in San Francisco and it taken them 4 days to install. They only had 4 wireless contacts to install and one key pad and I was told it would be done in 4 to 5 hours on the 1st day. Now we are on day 3 and they still have to come back for the 4th day to complete. I've called to confirm details and scheduling and nothing goes as planned. Nobody takes responsibility and they have no concern for my time! I requested back up parts to be brought to the job, Just in case incase, the part is bad and they show up empty handed. Poor management and too many layers of management to get the jobs done in a timely manner. I currently have 25+ hrs into a job that should have taken max of 12 hrs. At the current, I have billed the client 3 time more than what the alarm system cost to install. read more

This monitoring company was used by the previous owners of my new home. They recommended upon the sale that I should consider another company because they were not happy with their installation and ongoing service. I followed their advice and engaged another monitoring company for the burglary system. We found out that All Guard "locked" the panel when their service was discontinued even though the panel belonged with the homeowner. I called them to request to "unlock" the panel so that I can have the new company take over. They refused. This is my property of course and they somehow have the ability to prevent me from using it. I offered them to pay their service fee to come and do it, they refused. I offered to pay for a month's cellular service so they can do it remotely, they refused. I feel this is certainly unethical and possibly illegal. I now have to choose between initiating a lawsuit and paying for a new panel. If you want to avoid that sort of a choice, avoid this company -- surely there ought to be many honest ones out there.. read more

This is the absolute worst company ever. My wife has been trying to close our account for 1.5 months, and its still not closed. Really not sure how they became our security system monitor but this company sucks. Avoid doing business with this outfit. Not really sure what it takes to close your account. Apparently calling and emailing to close your account doesn't work. After written and phone requests didn't work, Kim Brady, said she would let us out of our contract. This took 4 calls and 3 emails over a period of 9 days to finally close out the account. Terrible customer service, and terribly disorganized. Do yourself a favor and miss this company. read more

Cancelled 6 days before the "required" 30 day notice and now AG wants us to pay a whole EXTRA YEAR of fees!!
