We came for dim sum lunch. The decor at this new place (new to us) was opulent with oversize chandeliers, huge dining hall as if it's meant for a massive Chinese wedding type of dining hall. Dim sum came in carts and as soon as they brought our tea, the cart race to reach us began and we were bombarded with eager aunties offering their plates. We were overwhelmed by the variety. Overall we think they were better than expected as we were reminded their reviews weren't good when they first moved here.

There are some differences to how menu items are made/taste from when I first had it, so I feel as though the chef has most likely changed. It's both good and bad because the menu items with taro aren't quite as nice as before, but other things are either the same or better like the Beef Ho Fun for example. The chicken feet have changed too, but both were good. All the classic items are still basically the same. I liked the pan fried chives dumplings and beef cheung fun here. I can't speak for dinner or how it is on the weekdays, but it's quite busy over the weekends, which is expected for dim sum. It's a large space too, but once it's busy, you'll have to take a number and wait for a table. There's some seating along the side of the entrance to wait, but it may still take awhile. Usually, only one person really has to go and take a number, so if possible, one person should strive to get there earlier.

Hostess was getting a bit frustrated, but all the servers/staff inside with the dim sum carts were super nice and personable. There's a tablet to check in at the door when you walk in. The inside was also renovated and looks very different than the old restaurant. Parking is also limited when it gets busy. I don't really eat meat much anymore besides seafood. So I didn't try too many dishes. But my dad loved everything he had, especially the century egg congee. I love the shrimp hargow, basically like shrimp dumplings with a transparent dough. My favorite though was the shrimp steamed rice roll. The shrimp were big and plump, and the sauce they pour on it is really good. Like a soy sauce with a touch of sweetness. I also really enjoyed the fried rice and the hot tea. Everything I tried I can wholeheartedly recommend, but honestly I didn't try too many dishes. I would definitely come back again!! Just maybe at a less prime time because the wait was really crazy.

The staff checked on us regularly and brought what we needed quickly. Everyone was friendly and attentive. As for the food, I usually tend to be fairly generous in my ratings, but on the day I visited, the dishes were noticeably salty. The seafood noodle soup, jajangmyeon, and fried rice were all saltier than expected. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but this part was a bit disappointing. That said, the overall experience was still decent, and I hope the seasoning is more balanced on my next visit.

Parking may seem tight but there is plenty more behind the building so don't be discouraged. I would suggest making a reservation by calling (if you have a large group) as there can be a wait on busy weekend days. I personally love most of their dumplings - soup dumplings, pork, lamb and zucchini. I've ordered the chive dumplings a few times but the chives always ends up being very overpowering. The dumplings are made by hand and come out steaming hot and fresh. They also have a selection of rice and noodles and other dishes which we have ordered but not as the main attraction. I'll be back here without a doubt when I have my next dumpling craving.
