This is such an authentic Cantonese restaurant in Duluth! They have both dim sum and stir fry dishes. I came today for dinner, so we ordered some dishes to share. They first start with some small starters, and the food came out pretty fast. Everything was so delicious, I can't even pick a favorite. We also got dessert soup at the end, rounding out a perfect meal with family. I really recommend this restaurant for authentic Cantonese Chinese food!

East Pearl Seafood Restaurant is a well known dim sum restaurant in Metro Atlanta. I came here with my friends on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed! There were so many large families eating there, even though the space was a bit packed. The traditional dim sum carts were rolling around frequently, which might be good to know for people who like that. The service was fine. Like many dim sum restaurants, you might have to call over someone to actually get your food or place an order. My friends and I shared everything family style. I love Chicken Feet so that was one of the first things I ate. I thought it tasted fine, but I would have liked it drenched in a bit more of black bean sauce. As for the Shrimp Dumpling and Fried Shrimp Ball, I thought both were alright but maybe a bit too shrimpy. As for the desserts, the Matcha Salted Egg Yolk Bun was super yummy!!! Honestly, you could barely taste the matcha, but the egg yolk itself was really sweet and paired well with the bun. Overall, I feel like East Pearl Seafood Restaurant may be a bit too overhyped on social media for dim sum. I have had better at other dim sum restaurants in Metro Atlanta. The dim sum was okay to me, but their desserts were pretty good.

What more could you ask for? Steaming hot dim sum fresh from the steamer is just the best here! It's not too fancy, just good dim sum is what you can expect. We had a party of eight, so we tried around 20 different dim sums: pork buns, beef tripe, lotus leaf sticky rice, pork ribs, mixed beef tripe, rice noodle with shrimp, rice puff, eggplant shrimp, baked pork buns, sugarcane shrimp, Portuguese tart, and egg custard. The egg custard was absolutely amazing--the soft crust melts with the custard, creating a delicious bite. The service was fantastic, with carts always around, ready to refill whatever you desire. Everything tasted so good and fresh, made with quality ingredients you can taste. East Pearl is definitely your go-to spot for dim sum!

We came here on a Sunday morning to celebrate Chinese New year. I was honestly expecting it to be more busy but we only had to wait because we needed a table for a stroller. The space is a moderate size with traditional theme and decorations as with other dim sum spaces. Food quality was pretty good and the staff were much nicer than most Chinese establishments (I say this with a good amount of experience). Some of the favorites were the crispy pork belly, the many dumplings, and especially the pork dumplings. Overall, we had a good experience but the prices were a little higher than I would have hoped for especially since the quality wasn't necessarily out of the park. I wouldn't mind coming here again but definitely had another dim sum spot in the area that I enjoyed more.

Not really impressed. Food was mediocre. We had a large variety of dishes as we were a party of 6 and none of us really wanted all the dishes in the family meals. So we each chose a dish and shared. I ordered the Sha Cha Beef and it was pretty good when it was fresh out of the kitchen. After it settled for about 5 mins the oil separated from the sauce and just looked gross. We also had the Hunan Chicken and it was good but there wasn't a lot of meat in it. We had an order of Singapore chow fun with shrimp and it was one of the better dishes. Another dish we tried was the Peeking Pork Chops and they were probably my favorite. Dishes I didn't try were the creamy honey walnut shrimp and all the fish eaters at the table chose it as their favorite. They also ordered the East Pearl Seafood Mix w/vegetables. That some liked, some didn't. We also did several dim sums. The pork pot stickers were the best but we also had the pork buns, sausage buns, shrimp shumai, lotus leaf sticky rice, and tofu skin wrap. Service was adequate but the restaurant and the bathrooms especially were just dingy and dirty. They served us all in a large banquet room when there was a much nicer and cozier front dining room that would have been a better place to eat. It wasn't so dingy and there was a fireplace and just had a nicer feel. You can view this dining room on your way to the dingier undecorated banquet dining room they will seat you in. The bathrooms were just gross. It didn't look like the floors have been swept in quite some time and nothing had been wiped down except maybe the toilet seats. Even the hand dryer had gunk all over it and was gross. My husband said it looked like the urinals had never been cleaned. . If the areas you see are this dirty and dingy I really wondered what the kitchen looked like. ? Did not see the health score posted anywhere. I could've missed it I suppose. Overall it barely gets 2 stars and that's for the food. Praying none of us get sick. Might be the last time I let my son choose his birthday dinner restaurant too lol

Restaurant is quite busy during the weekends. High ceiling space reminds me of the huge dim sum places you would find in New York's Chinatown. The carts offer the usual dim sum plates you expect at the American Chinatowns. Food is tasty and there is the usual variety of teas. Chrysanthemum tea is my go to tea. Service is excellent. Main gripe here is the cost, pretty high prices for dim sum. I guess I look back at the New York or Boston Chinatown restaurants many years ago and reminisce how cheap dim sum used to be.

-quick service even when really busy -gets REALLY busy during weekends -probably one of the best dim sum restaurants in the area -everything tasted freshly made -didn't love the har gow--filling was overcooked -loved the fried pork buns and shumai

My go to spot in the Atlanta area for dim sum! As someone who is Cantonese, this hits the spot. Open everyday and have dim sum everyday! More items on the weekend. Traditional cart service.

I was craving congee and I want to try their version. It is tasty includes crunchies amd green onions unlike the other places that is just plain bland. This is my favorite so far here. We had hot tea and finished the egg drop soup. They also serve shumai. Serving is family style so its really good for the price. Everything you see here is $52 includes spda fountain drink. Big space and some tables have the lazy susan feels authentic and servers are pleasant. Would likely to come back.

Overall experience is amazing! Me and my family visit every Sunday for dim sum as that's part of our tradition back in Hong Kong. I can't say that their food tastes just like my hometown but there's a couple food items me and my family liked a lot! Best to visit early around 10 so you won't need to wait hours for a table. Overall it feels like hometown and I like it so far!

Does this restaurant still have 50% dim sum Monday-Friday?

Not sure what you mean by "50% dim sum", but I suppose there are only two possible meanings. If you mean selection, I'd say it's pretty close to full selection every day. Whatever they're not pushing around in carts you can request - we've done this… Read more

There are some differences to how menu items are made/taste from when I first had it, so I feel as though the chef has most likely changed. It's both good and bad because the menu items with taro aren't quite as nice as before, but other things are either the same or better like the Beef Ho Fun for example. The chicken feet have changed too, but both were good. All the classic items are still basically the same. I liked the pan fried chives dumplings and beef cheung fun here. I can't speak for dinner or how it is on the weekdays, but it's quite busy over the weekends, which is expected for dim sum. It's a large space too, but once it's busy, you'll have to take a number and wait for a table. There's some seating along the side of the entrance to wait, but it may still take awhile. Usually, only one person really has to go and take a number, so if possible, one person should strive to get there earlier.

Royal China - Disappointing Experience…read more We have been coming to Royal China every year as part of our Christmas tradition, and we've always loved their Peking duck. Unfortunately, this year's experience was extremely disappointing. The service was terrible. We waited 40 minutes just to get our drinks, and after placing our food order, we waited another hour and a half with no food arriving. We were repeatedly told that the food was "coming soon," but nothing came. For reference, we ordered very simple dishes -- green beans, cauliflower, and eggplant -- items that should not take over an hour to prepare. Eventually, the duck arrived after an hour and a half, but none of the side dishes came with it. We had to speak to the manager three separate times, and the staff was rude and dismissive throughout the experience. The restaurant is very authentic, and we were clearly in the minority as guests, but that should never justify such poor service. Sadly, our five-year tradition of spending Christmas here was completely ruined. If you decide to visit this restaurant, be aware that the service can be extremely disappointing.

I thought there was a generous portion of the crispy pork in my meal. There were some mustard greens in the rice plate which added nice variation in taste. Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. It has legs that are strong enough to walk, but completely complements the dim sum with a little extra boost to help you enjoy the day. So, I challenge others to find a better dim sum place in Atlanta. That is why Canton House earns my 5th star and looking forward to getting my pineapple buns (really) soon!

The sauce it came with was great too- perfectly sweet & vinegary. - Dry beef mixed noodles: The beef was super tender, and the noodles were flavorful. This is meant to be a cold dish, but my mom was a bit hesitant about that and they were more than willing to serve it hot! (I definitely recommend having it cold though haha) - Szechuan Numbed Pepper Broth: Got this with fatty beef. My husband ordered Mongolian beef and gave it 8 out of 10. I think the only drawback is that it can be loud in there because of all the hard surfaces, and the high ceilings. However, they have many rooms for customers. Looks like it would be a great place for a small or big party! Their private rooms each have their own bathroom. Will definitely go back!

(4/26/25 Update):…read more I came here with my family who had a party room reserved for a birthday party. The room was nicely decorated and had a private bathrrom. There was big screen tv and karaoke setup. That was about it for the positives. Most of us showed up around 6:30pm on a Saturday night. The parking lot was pretty empty in front of Canton House. I looked over into the parking lot of Gohan Buffet and it was super packed vs Canton. We got the Family Dinner ($600) which feeds up to 10 people. We got 2 of them because we had around 20 people. The dinner comes with 10 dishes. 1. FISH MAW CRAB MEAT SEAFOOD SOUP 2. HONG KONG STYLE TWIN LIVE LOBSTERS 3. FOUR SEASONS APPETIZER PLATTER 4. WALNUT SHRIMP WITH FRESH FRUIT 5. STEAK CUBES & ASPARAGUS STIR FRY 6. LIVE DUNGENESS CRAB STIR FRY IN TAMARIND 7. PEKING DUCK WITH LOTUS BUNS (2 WAYS) 8. PAN FRIED CHILEAN SEA BASS WITH SOY 9. SNOW PEA LEAVES IN GOGI BERRY STOCK 10. GOLD & SILVER SEAFOOD FRIED RICE We had the crab soup first which had 0 flavor and I didn't even taste or see any crab inside. It was not good. The Hong Kong Style Lobster was a small portion and I barely got to eat any. 4 seasons appetizer was okay but just mainly fried stuff. Steak cubes were super small and I only had one. The walnut shrimp dish tasted like the honey shrimp from the low budget Chinese buffets. Dungeness crab was nicely decorated but didn't taste good. Peking duck wasn't bad but the portion was too small. It didn't help people in my party was grabbing big portions and being selfish. The sea bass was very good and I loved the crunchy ness to it. The snow peas dish was not very desirable as I had no clue what was inside. The fried rice was garbage as I tasted better fried rice from Panda Express. It had tiny shrimp bits like from low budget shrimp pieces from Krogers. Let's get to the table service part. One of the females had a real nasty attitude and didn't seem like they were too happy to be here. We finished eating and ate our cake. We wanted to have alittle fun with the karaoke but apparently the staff members kept coming in to "check" on us every 5 minutes. They weren't there to check on us as it felt like they were trying to rush us out so they can clean up. One employee even had the nerve to say, isn't it getting dark out? I was highly insulted by this. Affer spending approximately over $1700 at Canton House, I expected alittle more nicer hospitality. And from looking at their regular dining area, which maybe had only 4-5 tables with customers seat. They can use our business as the food here sucks. Affer the 5th time of employees coming to "check" on us, we all got tired and decided to leave. I do not recommend this place as the food and customer service just stinks here. I will definitely not giving them any of my hard earned money on the future. The dim sum as I remembered wasn't the best but I gave them a chance and still gave them a decent review. The value for the food is horrible. But I didn't hold anything back this time as they have been opened for a very long time.

Happy Valley Dim Sum & Cantonese Cuisine in Norcross, GA…read more Happy Valley has been around for about 30 years. This was actually my first time visiting their new location. My family has always been a fan of Happy Valley. Har Gow 9.5/10 Translucent skin with a full shrimp inside. The texture and flavor are very close to what I've had in Guangdong. Hong Kong Style Egg Tart 9/10 Best when they come out fresh. Flaky buttery crust with smooth egg custard and a golden top. Feng Zao (Chicken Feet) 8.5/10 Good color and the skin has the classic wrinkled texture from braising. The flavor is savory with a slight sweetness, though a little lighter than expected. Beef Tripe 8.5/10 Tender with a slight chew and absorbs the sauce well. The radish underneath was really good. Beef Rice Roll 7.5/10 The flavor is good, but the presentation is not very Cantonese style. The rice roll is slightly thick but has a nice rice fragrance. The soy sauce they use is not very authentic. I used to eat rice rolls almost every day for breakfast when I was in school in Guangzhou, so I am very picky about rice rolls. Pork Siumai 8.5/10 Pretty classic dim sum. Clams 7.8/10 The clams themselves are fresh and well cleaned. Do not be afraid to ask them to reheat if it comes out cold. However, the sauce was a bit too heavy for me.

Overall I'd give…read morethis place a 2 to 2.5 out of 5 (at most a 3). For the price and the area, the food quality just wasn't there, especially compared to other dim sum spots we've tried across the US and Vancouver. Food quality Most of the dim sum we ordered came out cold, and some items seemed like they were reheated (microwave style) to warm them up. That made the outer texture thicker and less pleasant. Even the fried items were disappointing: the outside was soggy, not crisp. I especially had high hopes for fried items like fried taro and fried eggplant, but both were below par. Best item we tried The one standout was the Hong Kong style seafood chow mein with a clear sauce. That dish was genuinely good. Everything else ranged from "okay" to forgettable. Value I don't remember the exact total, but for a similar spend, I strongly feel you could get better dim sum elsewhere. It didn't feel worth the money. Service Service was fine. They were willing to heat items when we asked, which I appreciated, but it also highlighted the bigger issue: dim sum should arrive hot and properly cooked in the first place. Atmosphere The atmosphere was actually nice. It was pretty clean, and on Sunday there were carts, which could have been fun. But because many items were cold and not great, we ended up ordering instead of relying on the carts. Would I return? No. The space is pleasant, but the food and overall execution just don't justify the price.
