    Masterpiece Dining room

For the third stop of our families first annual dumpling crawl we stopped at Masterpiece on Buford Highway. We originally went in hoping to try the purple sweet potato dumplings, but they were sold out--so we ended up with the pumpkin dumplings instead. The filling was finely chopped vegetables that, unfortunately, didn't have much flavor. We also tried the zhon-style dumplings and the pan-fried gyoza. While the gyoza had a nice crispy texture, neither option really hit the mark for me. To top it off, all three dumplings came with the same sauce, which was underwhelming. That said, the rest of the dining room was buzzing with people enjoying a wide range of Chinese dishes--and let me tell you, it smelled amazing. The portions looked generous, and the large 10- to 12-person tables came equipped with Lazy Susans, perfect for big families to order a variety of dishes and share everything. I genuinely loved that setup. Would I go back for the dumplings... no! But would I go back to try the rest of the menu... absolutely! Oh, and bonus points--they serve Coke in giant glass bottles.

Wanted to try this Chinese Sichuan restaurant after hearing that it received a Michelin Bib Gourmand. My favorite dishes were the onion spicy pot chicken (my favorite , highly recommend) and the chicken w dry red pepper. Both were delicious. I have also tried the soup dumplings and garlic shrimp but they were alright and not something I would order again. Overall I would rate this restaurant a 3.75 out of 5

This is the only Chinese restaurant in the newly launched Michelin Bib Gourmand at Atlanta. I visited here many years ago and revisited today, hoping to see difference, but I'm disappointed. The environment is okay, the service was courteous, and the menu had a lot of choices. We picked three dishes: Stir Fried Pig Kidney, Szechuan Beef Pot, Mapo Tofu. Overall, the taste was good, but the basic flavors of the spices were almost the same. Stir Fried Pig Kidney and Mapo Tofu taste very similar. The Pig Kidney was tender and crispy, but there were only few pieces, mostly were green peppers and celery pieces; Mapo Tofu tastes very authentic, I like the softness of tofu; Szechuan Beef Pot is very salty, and the beef is neither the brisket mentioned on the menu nor the beef shank mentioned by the waitress. In general it's okay restaurant but I have questions for the standard for Bib Gourmand.

10 out of 10! Was driving through town and found it listed on the Michelin site and boy is it worth it! Amazing prices, fresh food, fast service.

I'm officially upgrading my review to five stars because masterpiece truly delivers some delicious Chinese food. The Szechuan style Chinese food here is excellent and I recommend them for their Kung Pao chicken and cumin lamb and Szechuan hot and sour soup. Parking is easy and prices are reasonable. 5 stars!

Lives up to the hype. Proper szhezuan food. Little bit out of the way but worth it for everything they offer. The pepper eggplant is a MUST try

Hands down the best Chinese food I've had in Atlanta--and honestly, it beats the top spots I've tried in LA, San Francisco, and Orange County. This place is the real deal. I ordered a mix of dishes: kung pao chicken, minced beef soup, twice cooked pork, Zhong style dumplings, Szechuan style bean jelly, tendon in chili sauce, beef tendon in red oil, and boiled beef in chili stew. Every single dish was packed with flavor, super traditional, and just really well done. The portions were generous too, which is always a plus. The service was great--everyone was super courteous and attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant itself has that cozy, casual vibe you'd expect from an authentic Chinese spot. Nothing flashy or Americanized, just good food in a comfortable space. This was my first time here, but I'm definitely coming back. Honestly, I'm probably going to try everything on the menu over time. If you're new to this place, I'd say just order whatever catches your eye--everything I had was amazing, from appetizers to soup to the mains. Stick to something familiar or try something new--you really can't go wrong here.

One of the best on BUFORD HWY! Dumplings are amazing! Highly recommend!!!!!! Definitely give it a try

Almost licked the plates clean it was so good. What we ordered and you NEED TO TRY (my favorite from top to bottom): 1. Dan Dan Noodles!!! 2. Zhong Style wonton 3. Zhong style dumplings 4. Steam buns 5. Kung pao chicken You won't regret trying this place just go, servers were extremely kind. (Also I did not get good pictures because we ate everything right away, but there's other pictures on yelp for the foods named above). Enjoy!!

    E13. Stir-Fried Smoked Tea Duck
    D.F. C.

Everyone loved the beef chow fun, the dumplings, and the fried tea duck. The cucumbers were garlicky and delicious. The salt and pepper shrimp was a hit for most of the group. The dried string beans were good, but not the best we have had. The cumin lamb had a little too much cumin so that the mushrooms turned bitter. The most disappointing dish was the eggplant with ash, which had been written up in lots of different reviews. It was the one dish that wasn't finished and that no one had seconds of. Overall very good meal with very solid service.

Yum! A solid experience for this Michelin bib gourmand! The green beans and zhong style dumplings were the standout. The dry style beef chow fun was also tasty. Service was excellent. I'm also a stickler on rice and they properly wash their rice so it's good. The crispy fish filet (spicy fish) was too breaded for me!

Delicious lunch option on cold days. We loved our spicy fish and eggplant. Food comes out quick and portions are large enough to share to try a few different things.

If you enjoy authentic Sichuan cuisine, this place delivers bold flavors, generous portions, and dishes that taste like they were made for people who appreciate real Chinese cooking. On our visit, we ordered the Fish Fillet & Beef In Hot Spicy Sauce with SoyBean Sprouts & Sichuan Pepper, Boiled Fish Fillet in Soy Sauce, Mouth-Watering Chicken in Cold Spicy Sauce W/Ground Peanuts, Pork Belly Slices W/ Preserved Vegetables and Spicy Noodles with Ground Pork and Peanuts, along with rice to soak up every last bit of sauce. The Spicy Boiled Fish and Beef was the star of the meal. The large bowl arrived covered with fragrant chili oil, dried chilies, and Sichuan spices. The fish and beef were incredibly tender and silky, while the broth delivered layers of heat, aroma, and numbing spice without overwhelming the flavor of the fish. Every bite was rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. In contrast, the Boiled Fish Fillet in Soy Sauce showcased the kitchen's finesse with more delicate flavors. The fish was exceptionally fresh, flaky, and perfectly cooked, served in a light soy-based sauce with scallions and greens. It allowed the natural sweetness of the fish to shine and provided a wonderful balance to the spicier dishes on the table. The Chicken in Cold Spicy Sauce with Ground Peanuts was another standout. The chicken was moist and tender, dressed with fragrant chili oil, garlic, cilantro, and crunchy toppings that added texture and freshness. It was refreshing yet packed with flavor and made for an excellent appetizer. We enjoyed it with steamed rice. The Braised Pork Belly was beautifully prepared, with alternating layers of meat and fat that practically melted in your mouth. The rich soy-based braising sauce was savory with a touch of sweetness, making it the perfect companion to a bowl of steamed rice. The Spicy Noodles with Ground Pork and Peanuts were simple but incredibly addictive. The chewy noodles, savory minced pork, roasted peanuts, and fresh greens created a perfect combination of textures and flavors. Once mixed together, every bite delivered a satisfying balance of richness, crunch, and subtle heat. What impressed me most about Humble House was the authenticity of the food. The flavors are bold and unapologetically traditional, the portions are generous, and each dish feels thoughtfully prepared. The setting is casual since it's located inside the supermarket food court. If you're looking for authentic Sichuan and Chinese comfort food in Duluth, Humble House is absolutely worth a visit. Whether you're craving fiery boiled fish, comforting braised dishes, flavorful cold appetizers, or satisfying noodle bowls, this spot delivers. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

We found a restaurant not far from the matcha shop. It felt more like a Chinese takeout spot than a traditional sit-down restaurant, so there wasn't much to speak of in terms of decor. We decided to share everything we ordered. The first dish we tried was the Szechuan noodles. The flavor was excellent, but unfortunately, the dish arrived only lukewarm, as it appeared to have been sitting for a while before being brought to the table. Next, we ordered soup dumplings, but the restaurant accidentally brought out pan-seared dumplings instead. Thankfully, they let us keep them while they prepared our original order. The pan-seared dumplings were actually very good--piping hot and full of flavor. When the soup dumplings finally arrived, they were decent but didn't quite live up to the pan-seared version and lacked the same level of flavor. Finally, our Szechuan chicken arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was crispy with a great spice profile that delivered the classic Szechuan kick without being overwhelming. It was served with fried rice, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was good but not exceptional. The food had some strong points, especially the Szechuan chicken and pan-seared dumplings, but the restaurant ultimately felt more like a solid Chinese takeout spot than a destination dining experience.

Want to start off by saying that we had such great service here- our waitress answered all our questions and was very attentive. Ambiance is good as well. Lots of parking available. The sauce it came with was great too- perfectly sweet & vinegary. - Dry beef mixed noodles: The beef was super tender, and the noodles were flavorful. This is meant to be a cold dish, but my mom was a bit hesitant about that and they were more than willing to serve it hot! (I definitely recommend having it cold though haha) - Szechuan Numbed Pepper Broth: Got this with fatty beef. I know some similar places let you put the fillings into the broth yourself, but ours came already assembled (which is what I personally prefer). We loved how mala this broth is, probs my favorite dish we got. Also loved the texture and lightness of the rice noodles. Lots of great fillings like quail egg, spam, wood ear mushroom, cabbage. - Korean Kimchi Broth: Got this with pork chop (though actually it was pork ribs). This is a great choice if you want a tomato-y broth that has a hint of spice and acidity. Another instance of the great service because the pork ribs were kind of hard to eat with our utensils and when we asked if they could possibly cut it up, they did not hesitate to do so.
