Nice menu selections, good portions for large groups, in addition to dim sum. Delicious and all cooking styles from China

If you're looking for authentic dim sum in the Atlanta suburbs, Royal China is a great choice! The restaurant is huge - elegant chandeliers, high ceilings, and that classic banquet-hall vibe that makes it perfect for family gatherings or even weddings. We came for dim sum and everything was spot on -- juicy soup dumplings (小籠包), fluffy char siu bao, tender pork spare ribs, and silky shrimp rice noodle rolls that reminded me of what I used to eat growing up. My favorites were the siu mai (pork + shrimp dumplings) and the egg tarts, which were buttery, flaky, and baked perfectly! Beyond dim sum, their full Cantonese menu looks amazing -- from crispy salt & pepper squid to beef chow fun and roasted meats. It's definitely a spot I'll return to for dinner or a big celebration. Service was good too - we were never sitting around too long waiting for anything.

I searched high and low for a good dim sum spot during our trip to Atlanta, and Royal China did not disappoint. We ordered a spread that hit all the right notes -- Chinese broccoli, char siu bao, shu mai, shrimp rice noodle, and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf. Every dish came out fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were craving. The char siu bao had that perfect pillowy texture with just the right amount of sweetness, and the shrimp rice noodle was silky and delicate. Service was quick and efficient, and the vibe had that classic bustling dim sum energy I love -- carts rolling by, steaming baskets opening at the table, and the aroma of freshly made dumplings in the air. If you're looking for authentic dim sum in Atlanta, this is the place. Definitely satisfied our dim sum cravings.

Came here with family for dinner today. We usually come for the dim sum, so it's been a while since I've had dinner here. It was really good! I really like the decor and atmosphere because it feels upscale while dining there. The menu is very big, and the prices are very fair for the environment. The servers are also really attentive, which added to the experience. I enjoyed all the dishes that we got, and it was a really great dining experience overall. I would definitely come here for dinner again!

Doesn't look like much on the outside, but it's a different story on the inside. This establishment definitely has a way of making a grand impression with the luxe interior and incredibly accommodating service. All of the classic dim sum dishes were delicious, and I especially love the pork/chive dumplings, fried glutinous rice dumplings, and black sesame balls. Wouldn't get the egg tarts but that's just my personal opinion. Overall, everything here is well made, thank you! :)

Royal China is perhaps the largest, most elegant Dim Sum Restaurants we have been to. The staff welcomed us with warm greetings. Our friend is Taiwanese, so speaking Mandarin helped I'm sure. But it was nice to see how friendly the staff were. The service is by push cart, which is nice, because you get to experience a variety of dishes, some you may be familiar with but also have the ability to explore and try new dishes. I would say we had "the usual", in terms of offerings, including the Sticky Rice, Pork Shumai, Shrimp Shumai, Beef Tripe, Pork Spareribs and a few dishes whose names escape me. My wife order the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops off the menu. They were delicious, moist and flavorful. On to my favorites. The Beef Tripe was by far my favorite dish. The Tripe was simmered in this delicious broth, enhancing the flavors. We finished our meal with Egg Tarts. A favorite dessert, we have had a LOT of egg tarts in our day but I would say this has to be among the best if not THE best Egg Tart we have ever had. The crust was light and flaky. The custard was smooth and delicious. Amazing. One of my new favorite places to have Dim Sum.

As a Cantonese person living in Atlanta Georgia I'm always on the hunt for good dim sum. I think I've found it :). Set in a royal banquet hall with dim sum carts roaming around it's exactly the setting you want to be eating dim sum. I will say, if you're not experienced you can probably be a little overwhelmed by people coming up to you and showing you random food. Just sit back and relax and let the people show you new and exciting food!!

    Alice B.

Big banquet hall pretty much like other dim sum places. The service was rude and none of the people with the carts spoke English so when I asked what everything was, I got mumbled gibberish. Food was good of all that we ate. We forgot to take photos before we started eating. There are so many better places for dim sum that o would not come back here.

The service was not very welcoming. The waiter has attitude. What do you want. The waiter and waitress harassed me for a tip. I felt unsafe in this environment

High quality dim sum! The restaurant still uses the rolling carts to serve food, but you can special order from the kitchen. Service was quick with water refills and plate changes. Definitely one of the better dim sum restaurants in the area to check out!

LOVE this place. I was able to make a reservation and I do recommend that because they can get busy. Their menu is insanely huge. Everything we got was amazing and I love that they put chili oil on the table already for you. Their dim sum was delicious. I also loved their scrambled eggs with green onions and shrimp! You really can't go wrong with what you choose!

This is our go to restaurant for cantonese family dinner style. Their dining hall is huge but feels a little empty sometimes. Simon the manager is our favorite, he always take good care of us when we are there. This was actually where we had our wedding reception since we love the food. Now for s typical family style dinner it's not as exquisite as the wedding dishes. We love the egg yolk lobster and it never disappoints. Another stable is the beef chow fun. We tried the japanese tofu, it was good, but there are much better choices on the menu such as the lamb chop in black pepper sauce and the steamed seabass. Their peking duck 3 courses is also another stable we always get. Their menu is much lather than canton house and I like their flavor more.

I've been here for a wedding celebration but for dim sum the first time over the weekend! The dim sum experience can be very nerving for anyone unfamiliar with the process. Even for myself that has had it many times. I really liked the large dining room and the high ceilings. It made it seem just a little less chaotic. Wait staff came around quickly as soon as we all sat and then again throughout our meal. It is easy to drop $$ since there are no prices labeled and honestly you wouldn't know if you're charged correctly unless you ask for price and keep tabs on what is being marked off on your ticket. Overall food all came out fresh and satisfying. We ordered salt and pepper squid on the side and even though it didn't look like much it was very good. There were a few items they did not have available in the dim sum but we were told we can order off the menu but it would be the large portion which we opt out of. Sundays are supposed to be the busiest and best days to come for dim sum with more offerings. I don't think my social anxiety will allow me to come on a Sunday though. LOL

Do they serve dim sum on carts for dinner during the weekdays?

Not on carts but you can order it from the menu.

Are they open on Thanksgiving day?

Yes they are. Royal China is your typical 365 restaurant. In fact, it's weekend hours on TG day (open at 10)

Can you order dim sum off menu when you aren't serving dim sum on carts during lunch? We want to come during the evening on Friday or Saturday for dim sum and duck.

How much does it cost to rent the VIP 24 seat room and how much do you have to buy in food?

Call them (preferrably not during their peak dining hours) and I'm sure they'll be happy to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information - the chance that someone in Yelp would be able to provide that is rather slim.

    When is dim sum service?

The dim sum cart serves ever Mon-Fri 11am-3pm, Sat-Sun 10am-3pm. Thank you.

Are they open on New Year's?

    Of COURSE!

Do they serve beer or wine?

Yes! They may even have close to a full bar

    Do they take reservations?

Yes! Especially good for large parties (they have a number of private rooms)

I found the pork belly to be really tasty. There was a nice marinade over the skin and meat, plus the skin was pretty crispy even when some of the pieces got a little too moist inside the container. I thought there was a generous portion of the crispy pork in my meal. There were some mustard greens in the rice plate which added nice variation in taste. I also got a small cup of complementary soup on the side which I did not try but it did smell good. Overall, I think that my meal was pretty good. There was big screen tv and karaoke setup. That was about it for the positives. Most of us showed up around 6:30pm on a Saturday night. The parking lot was pretty empty in front of Canton House. I looked over into the parking lot of Gohan Buffet and it was super packed vs Canton. We got the Family Dinner ($600) which feeds up to 10 people. We got 2 of them because we had around 20 people. The dinner comes with 10 dishes. 1. FISH MAW CRAB MEAT SEAFOOD SOUP 2. HONG KONG STYLE TWIN LIVE LOBSTERS 3. FOUR SEASONS APPETIZER PLATTER 4. WALNUT SHRIMP WITH FRESH FRUIT 5. STEAK CUBES & ASPARAGUS STIR FRY 6. LIVE DUNGENESS CRAB STIR FRY IN TAMARIND 7. PEKING DUCK WITH LOTUS BUNS (2 WAYS) 8. PAN FRIED CHILEAN SEA BASS WITH SOY 9. SNOW PEA LEAVES IN GOGI BERRY STOCK 10. GOLD & SILVER SEAFOOD FRIED RICE We had the crab soup first which had 0 flavor and I didn't even taste or see any crab inside. It was not good. The Hong Kong Style Lobster was a small portion and I barely got to eat any. 4 seasons appetizer was okay but just mainly fried stuff. Steak cubes were super small and I only had one. The walnut shrimp dish tasted like the honey shrimp from the low budget Chinese buffets. Dungeness crab was nicely decorated but didn't taste good. Peking duck wasn't bad but the portion was too small. It didn't help people in my party was grabbing big portions and being selfish. The sea bass was very good and I loved the crunchy ness to it. The snow peas dish was not very desirable as I had no clue what was inside. The fried rice was garbage as I tasted better fried rice from Panda Express. It had tiny shrimp bits like from low budget shrimp pieces from Krogers. Let's get to the table service part. One of the females had a real nasty attitude and didn't seem like they were too happy to be here. We finished eating and ate our cake. We wanted to have alittle fun with the karaoke but apparently the staff members kept coming in to "check" on us every 5 minutes. They weren't there to check on us as it felt like they were trying to rush us out so they can clean up. One employee even had the nerve to say, isn't it getting dark out? I was highly insulted by this. Affer spending approximately over $1700 at Canton House, I expected alittle more nicer hospitality. And from looking at their regular dining area, which maybe had only 4-5 tables with customers seat. They can use our business as the food here sucks. Affer the 5th time of employees coming to "check" on us, we all got tired and decided to leave. I do not recommend this place as the food and customer service just stinks here. I will definitely not giving them any of my hard earned money on the future. The dim sum as I remembered wasn't the best but I gave them a chance and still gave them a decent review. The value for the food is horrible. But I didn't hold anything back this time as they have been opened for a very long time.

Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes, fresh and hot. The roasted pork and honey BBQ pork were both tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced -- not overly salty, not too fatty, just really well-prepared. The honey BBQ pork had a slightly caramelized glaze with a smoky sweetness, while the roasted pork had a nice savory depth and crispy edges. The bok choy was fresh and cooked just right, adding a nice crunch and balance to the plate. The rice soaked up all the juices really well and tied everything together. I'm not a big fan of large pieces of chicken and when you have a child it just makes for a better dining experience to not have to cut everything up smaller. Portions are large though! Highly recommend.

Came here with my partner on 04/11/2026 around 5:30 PM and decided to try the Mixed BBQ on Rice…read more(Any 2 Kinds) with BBQ pork and roasted pig for $14.48 (before taxes). The dish also came with what looked like Chinese broccoli, which added a nice balance to the meal. The portion size was great -- it came in a standard takeout container but was definitely enough for both of us to share and feel full. The BBQ pork was the highlight for me (4/5). It was tender, juicy, and nicely caramelized with that classic sweet-savory glaze. The edges had a slight char that added extra depth, and each bite was flavorful without being overwhelming. The roasted pork, on the other hand, was just okay (2.5/5). While the skin had a bit of crispiness, the meat itself leaned on the tougher side and wasn't as juicy as I'd hoped. Unfortunately, there were quite a few bony pieces, which made it feel like we were getting less actual meat. Flavor-wise, it was a bit underwhelming and didn't have the same richness or satisfying texture as the BBQ pork. One thing that really stood out was the sauce poured over everything -- it was savory, slightly sweet, and tied all the components together really well. I also appreciated that the overall dish wasn't too salty, which made it easier to enjoy without feeling heavy. Service-wise, the cashier was friendly and answered our questions clearly, which made ordering easy. Since it's located in a food court, there was plenty of seating available, and it wasn't busy at all for a Saturday around 5 PM -- a nice, relaxed dining experience. Overall, a solid, affordable food court option if you're craving Cantonese BBQ. I'd definitely come back for the BBQ pork, but might try a different second meat next time.

I ended up order the sweet and sour chicken with white rice and veggie egg roll. My husband ordered the garlic eggplant with fried rice and hot/sour soup. Plus, we shared veggie fried noodles for long life because we stopped here for my birthday. Service was wonderful and we got our food fairly quick. They were really good at refilling our water and clearing the table free of trash. I really enjoyed the noodles as it had tons of veggies, but an overwhelming amount of bean sprouts. The sweet and sour chicken delivered as it was both sweet and sour and I had plenty of leftovers. I found the veggie spring roll quite oily though, but it did its job.

I didn't want to do this but I felt obligated to because my first review was glowing. A little more…read morethan a year ago and my friends and I were obsessed with this place. Amazing food, excellent service, and amazing food; it warranted repeating. I just moved back in to town and was excited to have my favorite Cantonese food in Atlanta but honestly, after our meal today, I don't know that I'll be back and I certainly won't be bringing any more of my friends. Service: Everyone was still really kind. But the food came out slowly for how dead they were. We were halfway there of our dishes when I mentioned to the waiter that two more dishes were missing. He spoke with the waiter who took our order and they said they were coming. A half hour later and the dishes still hadn't arrived. I asked again and they apologize profusely and said it would be out shortly. Unfortunately, that's where the niceties ended... Food: Overall, the food was really bad. The best thing about Cantonese food is how complex the flavors are and when there is a good chef, it is my favorite cuisine in the world. That is what BBQ Corner has been in the past...but not anymore. All of the dishes, especially dishes with sauce, were overly sweet and very one note. The eggplant with garlic came with a bright red sauce that had no garlic in it. When I mentioned to the waiter that it was the wrong sauce, she said "No, that is spicy garlic sauce." I have had that dish at this restaurant at least five times and more than 20 times elsewhere. It was the wrong sauce and the sauce wasn't good. She and another waiter spoke to the kitchen and later apologized. Assessment: I think ownership changed and they took their cooks with them. Instead of the lite, complex flavors of Cantonese food of which they were once masters, this meal felt like mediocre Chinese takeout. While the waitstaff is lovely and mistakes happen (I still tipped 30% because it was Christmas), the food just wasn't good enough to warrant a return trip. I'm sad because this place used to be my favorite...one summer a friend and I ate there three times in one week. But things have changed and definitely not for the better.
