Ackee & Saltfish
Mathedel D.

No were in Augusta, serve Ackee & Saltfish. So when I come to Atlanta, I look forward to coming to Fireside. They do not disappoint. The helpings were plentiful. I shared with my Mom.

OMG, medium-sized salmon with rice and peas. Absolutely Delicious!!
Antwynette R.

I could not decide what to order, they have so many great options! I decided on the medium-sized salmon with cabbage, rice, and peas. The cabbage wasn't too soggy and had a slight crunch. The sauce on the salmon was a tomato base and amazing with grilled onions and peppers. The quality of food and the amount was definitely worth the price! The lady put more sauce on the rice and peas, which made it delicious! I can't wait to go back to try some other dishes.

Just me

Someone told me about this Jamaican restaurant the oxtails are good and the rice and peas and they put enough gravy they have decent customer service more so than not and that's why I continue to go.

Callaloo, ackee and saltfish, and dumplings

Ive been to Atlanta a few times but not on this side of town. Let me tell you I was not disappointed! I got the ackee and saltfish, callaloo and dumplings! Price was decent and my styrofrom was heavy, that's all I ask! I will definitely come back again!

Had to run an errand in the area and also needed to fix my craving for Jamaican Breakfast. I called ahead to place an order and was told no phone orders. I begged and the employee agreed to hold only the Small Porridge for me. By the time I found the place there was a long line! I was so glad I asked to hold the porridge because I got the last order. Pros: They are open early They offer both fries & boiled dumpling They offer salt fish & butterbeans for those who don't like ackee The Porridge was delicious The portions were good The gentleman that served us was very kind and professional and even entertained our suggestions to add lentil soup for vegans The gospel station was playing which set the mood Service was very good Cons: There was too much baking soda in the dumpling The ackee was not in whole pieces The salt fish was salty Service was slow only because there was one guy doing it all The plates are priced by item vs size We will definitely visit again!

Food: 5/5 Customer Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 I enjoyed my visit to Fireside! I ordered Jerk Chicken & Curry Chicken with Cabbage, Rice & Peas and Mac n Cheese! Everything was delicious! Seasoned to Perfection and the Mac n Cheese was so cheesy! Customer Service was awesome as well! The owner was there and greeted every customer upon arrival! Fireside has three locations across Atlanta, be sure to check them out!! Follow @iLoveFood_ATL on all social media platforms for Tasty Content

Oxtails cost $30 and were not cooked well. Meat was tough and very small. Cabbage had no taste

The space was very surprising as from the street it looks small and almost unassuming, but when you walk through the door, the space opens up to the most beautiful decor, opulent seating and the bar was GORGEOUS! They also have a beautiful outdoor patio and an area that can be booked for private parties. The host Ken was welcoming and very helpful. The bartender greeted us with a smile and provided fantastic service (my blackberry lemon drop was perfect). Now for the part you really want to know about...The food...OMG the food! I placed a to-go order (I wish that I had the time to dine-in), I was starving so I opened my food to take a bite in the car and when I tell you that it was SO GOOD, I went BACK inside just to tell the chef how good it was and how I would be back again soon and would be telling everyone about my experience. The menu said that the meats were marinated, but lots of places say the same thing and only have surface seasoning. I ordered the Stewed Chicken Main and EVERY SINGLE BITE was bursting with flavor and so tender. To say that I am impressed, is an understatement. The place is so beautiful I started planning how I could hold a private party there. My visit to Miss Conduck was like finding a hidden gem and I HIGHLY recommend dining there! (I am not a friend/affiliate just a woman who loves great food, excellent service and ambiance).

absolutely love APT 4B…read more The decor alone is worth the visit--it has this beautiful, nostalgic feel with the Jet Magazine-inspired aesthetic that's both cultural and elevated. It feels curated, warm, and intentional without trying too hard. As for the food, my favorites are the oxtail hummus and the seafood curry bowl. Both are full of flavor and always hit. You can tell there's real creativity behind the menu, and everything feels thoughtfully put together. The overall vibe, from the design to the food, makes it a place I genuinely enjoy returning to. Definitely one of my go-to spots.

We tried calling ahead, but no one answered; fortunately, it wasn't too busy when we arrived, so our tardiness wasn't an issue. There was a DJ playing a nice mix of hip hop and R&B, which set a great vibe. We weren't immediately greeted since no one was at the hostess stand, but someone from the kitchen noticed us right away and seated us. They offered a $28 "Girl Brunch" with a choice of cornbread or deviled eggs, plus either jerk chicken fried rice or croissant French toast with blueberry compote, along with a lemon drop. I chose the deviled eggs and croissant French toast and gave the lemon drop to my friend, opting for a mocktail instead. My friend ordered the cornbread and steak and eggs. We both enjoyed everything. I was pleasantly surprised by the croissant French toast, and the mocktail was just as good as any cocktail.

The space felt authentically Jamaican, which added to the vibe. No oxtails available though, so just be prepared for that. Also, it was my server's first week, so give a little grace and patience with timing. The drinks were amazing. My only observation was that, like many places using fresh garnishes for cocktails, gloves weren't worn during drink prep but hey, maybe the alcohol handled the sanitation duties *shrugs* Overall, it was a really good experience and I'd definitely go back.
