I was pretty disappointed in this place, but that was largely due to the rave reviews I've heard about it. I love Jamaican food so I was looking forward to it also for that as well, but what my friend and I experienced was not what I was hoping for. First of all, the food is pretty expensive. I ordered curry goat, and my friend ordered oxtails and we both paid $30 each. I will say they definitely give large portions so though you're spending a lot you do get a lot of food so that helps but I still just thought it was a bit pricey for to go food. The main issue that both of us had is that they did not give enough gravy at all compared to the amount of food that you're given. We got so much rice, but such a small amount of gravy that majority of the meal was dry because of that. I ended up making my own jerk/oxtail sauce in my kitchen just to be able to enjoy the rest of my meal, which I don't feel I should've had to do. I will say the meats were cooked well they were soft and juicy so that was probably the best part of everything but I'm a sauce person so to me the gravy is a big part of the experience and since so little was provided it just wasn't very good. I also feel like it could've generally been more flavorful as well, but that wasn't too bad. It was really mainly just dry so overall I just wouldn't recommend this place. I feel like I've had much better Jamaican food in my past experiences.

First time trying this Jamaican spot and it was sooo good. Very authentic. At first I thought it was pricey, but you get a lot of food for the money. I ordered two plates of oxtails with rice and peas, plantains, plus two rum cakes and two juices. Everything was delicious. My mom and I both loved it. I found this place by just Googling restaurants near me and had no idea it was even there since it's inside an office building. You do have to pay for parking, which is a downside, and they could definitely use more signs for the building. Other than that, the food is amazing. I'll definitely be back.

Ordered oxtails on a Saturday night, it was delicious! Staff was friendly and polite. The food was served quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was clean, only a few tables open for seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I ordered irie mom on door dash and it was pretty good. I got the whole fried snapper and the jerk chicken. Both were good but not the best I've had. I would go again , but I prefer Kingston's on the east side. I asked for my snapper extra spicy and it wasn't spicy at all, but they could have overlooked that. Jerk chicken was seasoned well.

Good Jamaican food can be difficult to find these days, so I'm always happy to enjoy some Irie Mon Cafe when I'm craving some. As someone from South Florida who grew up eating all kinds of Caribbean food, I can be really judgey although I'm American lol. So when one of my fave Jamaican girlies told me that Irie Mon Cafe was her local go-to, I made them mine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is in a small plaza with limited parking and a tight parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself doesn't offer any seating and is arranged for pick-up only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's always so hard for me to choose what to order but you really can't go wrong with their jerk chicken or oxtails and next I'll try their fish. My boyfriend loves a rasta pasta and enjoyed their version when we had it last. I appreciate that they don't skimp on portions and when you order extra sauce, they load it up! Definitely one of my top spots in ATL to indulge in my cravings for Jamaican food, can't wait to try more from their menu.

Fatty Oxtails that needed to cook for 2 more hrs

If you're going to serve small abortions of fatty, oxtail and dry jerk, chicken at least treat customers with a bit of respect. I just wasted $60 and I'll never be back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only reason why I gave them one star is that they're open later than everybody else but I got my plate of food before 10 PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lady was rude and dismissive and they just lost me as a customer. My first time and I'll never be back in that place again. I'm not even the type of person to ever leave a review good or bad, but this rubbed me wrong. No excuse for bad service

    Natriece S.

This is the place to come for good Jamaican food if you're looking for laid back appeal, no dress code, no fuss ordering, a food-focused establishment (no drinks/no hookah), with great service and prompt ordering. They stay open past midnight, have a variety of options, and the sauce is spicy but not overpowering. I have had the chicken and the oxtails. They also have salmon, shrimp, and curry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating is great for small groups, solo outings, and somewhere decent to eat and study or read. It is limited but always clean and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is good, served hot, they prepare it and place it on warmers, but the chicken is cut fresh to order. Tastes like the Jamaican food I've had overseas and the price is reasonable- pretty much same as other local spots. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like that it's laid back so no need to get dressed up or pay for extras just come get your food and enjoy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When you reach the location there's a metered entry to the parking lot. It's confusing to get out if you're not familiar but it's easy: just go around the side of the building and exit from the upper deck. If you want cocoa bread just ask it's not on the menu but they have it!

    Curry Chicken
    Nandi A.

I don't know if I just ordered the wrong thing but I did not enjoy the food. I got curry chicken and the curry was thin and just lacked over flavor. The rice and peas were soggy and the cabbage was definitely bland. The food is prepared pretty quickly though.

    Earl S.

I experienced their food via their food truck at the Falcons Training Camp Day event. The service was very quick as soon as I ordered. The food was scrumptious and served hot. If it ain't spicy, it ain't jerk chicken and this jerk is spicy. The rice and peas were moist and not dry--just the way I like them. I love the flavor of the cabbage as well. Everything was truly delicious. Highly recommended! The plate was $15 for tons of food.

The first time I experienced this café it was excellent. It was so good we catered it for our holiday party however it seems to be a hit and miss now. The cashier/server seemed unwelcoming or friendly and seem like it was an issue when I asked for extra oxtail gravy on my rice and cabbage. Anyone knows White rice is dry and knees gravy. On this particular visit the oxtails were a little tough and the flavor was off but I would try them again to see if something changes.

    Brown stewed chicken
    Courtney R.

The food was mediocre. The brown stewed chicken was dry and had no sauce and the plantains were overcooked and dry. The health inspection score is a 89 B. The staff could be more pleasant but Jamaicans have an innate attitude problem for some unknown reason. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant could be cleaner looking but I guess they are doing their best.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll stick to my spot in North Atlanta. Not impressed.

    Amazing!
    Ashley C.

I ordered Irie Mon through Door Dash and it was great. First off, the food was packaged so well. If you've ever had Jamaican, you know that you HAVE to hold the bag from the bottom so that you don't spill any of the gravies and juices. Each container was wrapped tightly with plastic wrap, so even if the driver didn't handle it with care, the food would still be intact. It was also 11 pm, so I thought the rice would be hard and the chicken dry lol. That was not the case! The portions were amazing and everything was fresh. There was a promotion on the jerk chicken last night, so I've been eating leftovers throughout the day. If you haven't been yet, give Irie Mon a visit. Very good and I'll be back!

One thing I really loved was the photo booth outside in the parking garage--it was such a fun touch and made the visit even more memorable. The only downside was the parking. Unless you're lucky enough to find street parking, you'll have to park in the garage, which wasn't my favorite. Other than that, everything was great. The bartender was incredibly kind and patient, especially since I'm very picky about drinks. She helped me choose one that I ended up loving. The atmosphere inside was also really nice, with a fun and welcoming vibe. I'd definitely come back!

SUPER unimpressed with my visit here…read more Based on the decor, especially the photo area in the parking deck and the fake flower arch outside, my first impression was that this was going to be a "TikTok trap": a restaurant focused more on aesthetics than food or service. Unfortunately, that impression ended up being accurate. It took forever for our food to come out. The parties around us were clearly frustrated as well. I watched one table become visibly irritated, while another guest stopped a server to ask if the food being carried out was theirs because they had apparently been waiting over an hour. As the wait dragged on, I started paying closer attention to the decor, which I personally found tacky and gimmicky, especially the fake greenery hanging across the ceiling. The fried green tomatoes and sweet heat wings were really good, and I started to rethink my initial assessment of the restaurant. Everything went downhill from there. My "Rich Boy" sandwich itself was good, but it came with completely unseasoned fries. When I mentioned that I was supposed to have the "Rolex" fries, the server told me the plain fries were what I got. After clarifying with another server, they brought out the actual "Rolex" fries, which appeared to just be fries with a little parmesan and parsley on top. Supposedly they were truffle fries, but there wasn't even a hint of truffle flavor. My partner ordered the veggie sausage, which was overcooked and dry. Their eggs came out over easy instead of over medium, and the "signature grits" were more like cream cheese with a little bit of grits mixed in. We were told more grits would be brought out, but they never came. Another person in my party ordered the Southern seafood pasta, which had literally one piece of spinach in it. When she asked about it, the server responded that there was "more spinach coming." At that point, it became clear that Barney's is selling the illusion of luxury in order to justify premium prices for subpar food and service. It really was a TikTok trap after all. To make matters worse, when the check came, we were charged an additional $1.50 for eggs that already came with the meal. The explanation was that the eggs "came from the shell." Others in my party were also charged extra for liquor on top of the listed menu price for their drinks. Overall, I absolutely did not enjoy my experience here, and I will not be returning. Oh, and that other party that was visibly irritated with the wait had to wait even longer because there was a hair in their food.

The cucumber mint lemonade was AMAZING. Too bad it's $4 for a small glass with no refills. Now for the rest... they were out of fries, which normally come with the burger, but I was charged an extra $3 to substitute Brussels sprouts. The server never mentioned there would be an upcharge. I only found out when I got the bill. When I questioned it, she basically said she couldn't control the system. My issue isn't even the $3. If you're out of the side that comes with the meal, customers shouldn't have to pay extra for a replacement. And I definitely don't appreciate surprise charges on my bill. I had my child with me, so I wasn't about to go back and forth over $3. I paid it and kept it moving. Another surprise was that they don't offer free water. If you want water, you have to buy a bottle. Between paying for parking, paying for bottled water, and no drink refills, the little charges started adding up. I felt "nickled and dimed." The music couldn't decide what vibe it wanted. One minute we could talk normally, and the next minute we were basically at a concert. There was also a leak in the ceiling, and near the restrooms there was a smell that reminded me of old wet towels. On the positive side, the host was amazing. He was super personable and welcoming. They also turn those tables over FAST. By the time we paid, our dishes were gone and the table was already cleaned and ready for the next group. The food is what saved this review. There were just too many little things that took away from what could've easily been a 5-star experience.
