I kept on hearing about this place for years, but had never tried it since there's so many in Gwinnett near me that I'm still trying to get through. So glad I came with a group of my foodie friends. All the dishes were fantastic, even the vegetarian ones! If my sister hadn't told me, I would thought that it was a service type of restaurant, but no, you order at the counter and go find a seat. That was the only confusing part. You just have to look at your surroundings. The place can get tight and so I can't imagine on the weekends during rush hour lunch and dinner. This place really deserves to be on everyone's list of places to dine in Chamblee.

I came here with friends because a lot of the restaurants in the area had a long wait. There was not too many people here, so we were seated immediately. The servers and owners were really nice, but the food left much to be desired. I got the wonton noodles, and it was okay, but I have definitely had better in the area. The restaurant itself is pretty small but has good seating availability. If I come here again, I might try some other dishes that my friends had because some of the other dishes looked pretty decent.

I had a very odd craving for this roast duck on a Wednesday. I drove over here on A Wednesday and forgot that they are closed that day, bummer. Don't be like me and have a duck craving in the middle of the week. Anyhoo, I'm back, and the duck still hit like I this the first time I had it. My kids and I are on a quest to try new menu items so tonight was the beef chow mien with black bean sauce. It wasn't bad. You know how kids ate, the veggies were too chunky for them but overall the dish was good. They also expected the skinny rice noodles instead of the flat thick rice noodles, again, kids preference. Overall, food came out fast and fresh. It wasn't a busy night. We'll be back when the next duck craving hits :)

So it's a nice little area, but it's in a strip mall that's very congested. So just be aware of that if you are coming here, parking could be a beast. Depending on what time of day you're going to be there. When I was seated, I got brought a menu and some water right away so they had really good attentive customer service. She explained to me you and gave me a chance to go and look over it, she didn't try to rush me. Just a note, I came around when they were closing so it was last that they didn't try to rush me. The barbecue pork was a nice pile of sliced meat. And it was the medium size so I can only imagine what the large size would be. The pork itself was pretty dry, but they had two compensate by adding some sauce at the bottom of the plate for you. So without the sauce, it really didn't hit, but it added some extra juicy flavor to it if you use the sauce with the meat when you were eating it. I ended up taking some of that home and poured the sauce over it and the leftover meat absorb the sauce right up, I feel like I needed more lol. The Egg drop soup was okay, I kind of felt like it could have used a little more flavor, but it was good. It had really big chunks of eggs in it, but it needed a little extra seasoning a little salt and pepper to make it come out. I would probably try to hide and sour next time. General Tso's chicken was really good, I would definitely get it again even I want to try other things next time. The sauce that came on it was good and super sweet and really flavorful and had some cake to it. It was thick so it really stuck to the chicken, so when you put the chicken in the rice, the rice will stick to the sauce which was on a chicken and it made everything falling full circle! Egg rolls were pretty good. They came with a good and sweet sauce that had a nice flavor to them. A lot of times they come with a combo, but this wasn't the case but it's fine (they're on the appetizer menu). The chicken came with steamed rice but you can pay like $4 and some change more and get fried rice. I don't know why I would ever just settle for white rice when fried rice was available so it was a pretty good upgrade and it was a really nice amount of rice too. I took some of that home as well so that was really good. No complaints about this chicken and rice combination Let me mention one thing, I had food left over so I took it home. And you can really tell the integrity of a food and the quality of it by how it reheats, and this food reheated pretty well honestly. This was pretty solid, I really don't have a lot of complaints about it. I thought that they treated me well and they were nice and greeted me and waved at me goodbye as well when I was leaving. The head give or take about maybe 20 or so areas to sit at, and it wasn't full at all so I can get there full attention so that was good but I'll bet at lunch time they probably bang. Either way, I enjoyed myself here. Just to know, the parking here is not great because it's in a parking lot of a strip mall and they're doing construction so you will have to navigate like Tetris around up on a parking spot depending on what time a nite going but I wasn't upset at all. I would go back because you do get a lot of bang for your buck.

This is what "hot and sour" soup is supposed to look like. Sooo good.

I was carving authentic Asian food. Took my baby girl with me, and we went to explore Doraville, aka Buford Highway. People aint lying when you ask them, "Where are all the authentic and amazing Chinese cuisine?" And they reply, " Buford Highway" or " Jimmy Carter Blvd." You really can't go wrong with any of the restaurants from these locations. However, the thing to look for is the health ratings of all the restaurants. Luckily, Yelp does that automatically for you when you search up the restaurants. Just be cautious about which restaurants you walk into and make sure it's sanitary like you would expect in any restaurants. We found this place, and the food was delicious. We ordered drunken noodles, chicken fried rice, combination congee, and, of course, hot and sour soup. Everything was cooked to the authentic taste. The reason why I deducted a star was for the health ratings. So far, my stomach feels just fine. You know the best foods are located at these hole in the wall places. Just use your best judgment and give it a try! I will be exploring and dining in this area more often in the future, so I know where to take my buddies from California when they visit!

My fiancé and I had dinner at BBQ Corner 2 after I got back from vacation and neither of us wanted to cook. It was pretty scrumptious! I don't know a ton about Chinese food, so I'd like to try some other spots, but we really enjoyed our meal. Service was fast and friendly. We split an order of potstickers which came with a delectable sauce. They were a good portion. I got the pan-fried rice noodles with beef and vegetables. It was different than I expected, but so good! Hot gravy-like sauce and crispy noodles. My fiancé got the BBQ pork lo mein which he loved. These portions were also sizeable for the cost. I'd come back here for sure, along with so many other spots in this shopping center.

    Check

The food in this very modest little spot is always good - tasty, hot and promptly served. Not to be missed is their Egg Foo Yong. The service is always good, too, but there's one thing to be aware of. They automatically charge an 18% gratuity (which I don't really mind, although it was surprising for our group of just two adults and one child), but then the check includes a suggested tip, too. So look carefully at the check, or you may end up tipping twice. (See attached photo.)

Staffs are super friendly, but the food flavor needs improvement. They had some Mexican chef to cook authentic Chinese food, seriously...?

The Canton House on Buford Highway is my family's go-to for authentic Cantonese dim sum in Atlanta…read more The food is always up to expectations each and every visit. Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. It has legs that are strong enough to walk, but completely complements the dim sum with a little extra boost to help you enjoy the day. So, I challenge others to find a better dim sum place in Atlanta. That is why Canton House earns my 5th star and looking forward to getting my pineapple buns (really) soon!

I was quite surprised that I was able to get a table when I went on a Saturday 11ish AM (peak…read moredimsum hours!). Good service with the push carts rolling around passing the tables often. We started with the flower tea, amazing choice! Sweet and warming, nicely aromatic. Perfect start. Then the dim sum carts rolled in and we chowed down. DISHES I ORDERED - Siu Mai: Not the best I've had. Quite oily on the outside, but the flavor isn't bad. It does...taste like siu mai. It's just nothing spectacular - Chinese Broccoli: A classic! Very good - Beef Chow Fun: A very chewy and bouncy home made flat noodle dish. Savory, salty, and flavorful! Good amount of tender beef too. - Shrimp Balls: Crispy and fried on the outside, yummy, with good big shrimp ball. Yummy classic sweet and sour sauce too. Delicious - Egg Rolls: Good, not too oily, a normal egg roll - Spare ribs: Possibly my favorite dish! Tender, not too chewy, good savory sweet flavor. -- Overall, it's not bad but it's nothing to write home about. My favorite item was probably the spare ribs. The rest were standard in my opinion. However, service is fast since it is dimsum, so perfect to eat when hungry! Also great ambiance for big group parties or hangouts!

Well here's an unenthusiastic update to my last review, so pardon the lackluster vibe. The food was…read moreso-so this time around. We ordered pan fried buns and instead received Chinese donuts in the bag :( I didn't realize it until we got home, but I never had an issue with this place so it didn't occur to me that they prepared (or packed?) the wrong thing. If I ever return, I'll know to do better than expect the correct order and check everything before heading out. The crab rangoon was still flavorful but whatever dough they wrapped it with this time was so freaking tough that it cut the top of my mouth. My jaw should not get a workout from eating crab rangoon of all things. Another disappointment in the bag. But the beef entree we ordered was good, yet overshadowed by the other letdowns of the night's visit given that I can't really remember what exactly we ate. I'm going to remove another star for the unhygienic practices I witnessed that I was perhaps blissfully ignorant of my last time visiting. It's hard to look past a server comfortably coughing into their hand and proceeding to handle multiple patrons' plates and orders without as much of a squirt of sanitizer. I will say though they are quite dedicated to the customer. As I was sitting in the parking lot waiting 10-15min for my order to finish, someone clearly forgot their food and the same hacking server ran out to give it to them. Oh wait! Turns out that was actually our food being jostled around as he ran through the parking lot searching for the owner. I was watching the time and planned on returning but maybe I wasn't moving fast enough for this guy lol. He did all that just for the order to be wrong.... Damn bro. I prayed he didn't box the food. I guess we didn't come on a good day? I really don't know what happened but the entire experience was off. Based on the night's events, I don't know if I'll return. No pictures this time... I was too pissed off. Didn't fight the incorrect order either as I was too tired and really only ordered here because Northern China Eatery was closed. At least the food was decent. Heavy on the word "decent".

Overall One of the…read morebetter dim sum and Cantonese style Chinese food experiences I've had in the Duluth area. A few standout dishes were so good they almost carried the whole meal to a 5. Best dishes (the reasons to come) 1) Salt and pepper squid This one was excellent. Fried well, not greasy heavy, topped with plenty of fried garlic, plus cilantro and fresh cabbage to balance the richness. Super satisfying and well executed. 2) Dried chow fun with beef Also a standout. Great texture and temperature, well seasoned, and the ingredients felt evenly distributed instead of clumped or uneven. This dish was done right. 3) Eggplant in a small pot Served in a small pot that keeps it warm for a long time, which makes a big difference. There's a lot of sauce, but you can reduce how salty it tastes by how you scoop and serve it. Comforting and flavorful. If you ordered just these three, you'd already have a great meal. Other dishes (good, not amazing) Coconut shrimp The shrimp itself was cooked well, and I appreciated the broccoli on the side to balance the heaviness. The issue was the sauce: way too much. It got soggy fast and leaned too sweet and too salty. Next time, I'd ask for the sauce on the side so you can control it. We also tried a vegetable dish and a fish dish. Both were decent, but not particularly memorable. Tea They serve tea if you order it. The chrysanthemum tea was pretty good, and I liked that it was loose leaf. Atmosphere and service We went around 2:30 to 3:00 pm, so it wasn't crowded. The vibe felt very local and family friendly. It's an older building, but clean enough and inviting. Service was great, and it seemed even smoother if you have someone in your group who can speak Cantonese. Would I return? Yes. I'd come back, especially for the salt and pepper squid, dried chow fun with beef, and the eggplant pot.
