I wish I could give more than 5 stars! A WONDERFUL Experience for a wedding rehearsal dinner! Shoutout to Ricky!!! I went to Canton Kitchen for my rehearsal dinner on the night before my wedding. I made a reservation with them 2 months in advance. We ended up having to go in 2 hours before the originally scheduled time because the wedding prep time got done sooner and some of our party had to go home earlier. They were very gracious about it and gave us some of the best service I have ever experienced. It had a nice atmosphere and polite staff. They have 4 private dining rooms I ate with most of the bridal party in the larger one with a turntable in the middle which made it super convenient to share our entrees and sides at such a large table. Not once during that meal did I see my cup empty as the waitress was on top of everything the entire meal. The food was phenomenal, and while the prices seem high at a glance, it is because they pile these dishes up with the silent understanding that this is not a plate for just one person. These are truly generous portions meant to be shared across multiple people. I shared the Peking Duck across my table of 8, and that near $70 duck helped feed a lot of people! Their sesame seed dumplings were to die for. I loved their coffee chocolate mouse. Their curry was WONDERFUL! My friends and family were all impressed with my choice. 1-Star Review - Very Disappointing Experience After seeing some appealing food videos on Instagram, I decided to try Canton Kitchen. As someone who enjoys Chinese food and dim sum, I was looking forward to it. It took about 30 minutes to drive there, and we arrived around 6:30 PM on a Sunday night. Surprisingly, the restaurant was almost empty -- only two tables were occupied. One table was almost finished and the other had just sat down. The restaurant itself actually looks nice, modern, and well decorated, so no complaints there. Our party of two was initially seated at a very small table in the back. I came hungry with the intention of ordering a lot of food, so I asked if we could move to a larger table. Considering the restaurant is quite large and mostly empty, that request should have been simple. However, the waitress didn't address it right away. Only after we started ordering and they realized we had ordered 13 dishes did they move us to a larger table. Not a great first impression for the service. We ended up ordering 13 different items, including several dim sum dishes. The Seafood & Bean Curd Soup, which came out first, was actually decent. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill once the dim sum arrived. Many of the dim sum items appeared to be frozen premade products that were simply reheated, which might explain the $5.99 price. Here was our experience dish by dish: * Crystal Shrimp Dumplings - Average * Chicken Feet - Not good * Shrimp Shumai - Not fully cooked (we had to send it back) * Beef Ball - Tasted more like flour than meat * Ginger Beef Tripe - Chewy and didn't seem fresh * Crab Mini Soup Buns - Thick skin and looked nothing like the menu photo. Honestly tasted like something from a frozen grocery store Then came the biggest disappointment of the night: The Lobster. The dish looked nothing like the photo advertised at the front entrance menu. While I understand the lobster would be small for the price, the bigger issue was that it did not taste fresh at all. It honestly reminded me of something you might find at a cheap Chinese buffet. The remaining dishes were mixed: * Steamed Sea Bass - So-so, but probably the best dish of the night * Braised Tofu Hot Pot - Not bad * Walnut Shrimp - Actually good * Sauteed String Beans - We couldn't eat it * Curry Beef - Very bland Normally I avoid writing negative reviews. Even when food is not great, good service and how management handles the situation can change the experience. I was actually planning to leave a 3-star review despite the food. But what happened next changed that. We told the waitress the lobster was not fresh and we could not eat it, and asked her to let the chef know. She took the dish back to the kitchen. After that, no one came to address the issue. No manager, no chef, and no apology. Nothing. When the bill arrived, the lobster we didn't eat was still fully charged. While the prices here may seem reasonable, the overall food quality was extremely poor, comparable in some cases to a low-budget Chinese buffet. We left with a bad taste in our mouths and regretted the experience. Seeing how empty the restaurant was at 6:30 PM on a Sunday night now makes sense. I sincerely hope they improve because I never enjoy seeing any restaurant struggle. But based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend this place at the moment. read more

Braised wings hit the mark-will try some of the bigger dishes/hot pots etc next time. Came for lunch and we got to order from the lunch menu. The interior was really pretty and the lunch prices were pretty fair. The kung pao chicken honestly was not my favorite, it didn't taste too authentic to me and it was kind of sweet. The salt and pepper shrimp batter wasn't too tipsy and the dish was overall okay. Their lunch also come with two shumai and a soup. The egg drop and hot and sour soup both were pretty good. We also ordered the Crystal shrimp dumplings and I would say the size was pretty good! Pretty empty for a Friday night but it's still new so maybe people don't know about it yet! The waitress was working really hard since she appeared to be the only one there. The food was better than we thought it would be. Hot and sour soup was very good. Sesame chicken was good but a bit too sweet and tasted like sweet and sour chicken instead. My son and I came here on a Sunday around 11::15 am. We had planned to go to a neighboring restaurant had told us they would not be open for 30 minutes, so Canton Kitchen got our business instead. We were seated relatively quickly as a party had just come before us. They were doing some decorating with bamboo which caused a little of drilling before our meal started. A family with two little kids was a little loud which did not disturb me but did annoy my son. Our server was attentive and refilled our waters as well as offered to bring my son another bowl of rice which I appreciated. We ordered the beef curry, pan fried pork buns, string beans, and braised fish hot pot. I enjoyed the food and definitely will plan to bring my family when then are in town! First of all, the place is stunning!! I wasn't expecting such a stunning interior. It's a little more upscale-- great place for a date, family dinner, or celebration. The food was delicious and so fresh. I thought the dumplings in the Szechuan sauce were the best, the sauce was super flavorful and the dumplings had a great texture. The sesame balls were hot, crispy on the outside, and had a sweet chewy inside. I also really liked the beef curry. While it may not be a traditional dish, I thought the beef was nicely cooked so it was super tender, the veggies were fresh, and the curry was flavorfulz The lo mein was big enough to share and the noodles were perfectly cooked. They gave us some pork dumplings on the house and those were phenomenal, however I should have asked for a sauce with them. To drink we got the Jasmine tea, which was served promptly and accompanied our meal nicely. They have a huge menu, so there's something for everyone. We dined here for dinner with a group of 8. There was only one other party when we walked in. Since we were a big group, we sat in one of their private dining rooms. We ordered a bunch of dishes, but the memorable ones are: sesame balls, steamed buns, salt and pepper ribs and eggplant with garlic sauce. The sesame balls were bigger in size than what you typically get at a dim sum restaurant and filled with red beans. My absolute favorite and I get them every time I see it on a menu. The steamed buns, I think had a pork filling, which was super tasty. The bun itself was soft and sweet. Salt and pepper ribs-can never go wrong with this item, though some pieces still had bones and/or cartilage so I would caution biting into them. The eggplant with garlic sauce was piping hot when we got it, but was everyone's favorite. Service was a hit or miss. NOT authentic Chinese cooking. Ordered pan fried noodels. They were anything but. A mere handful of soggy noodles with fake crab, previously frozen seafood. They can't even get simple fried rice right. Took old white rice, mixed it with soy sauce, heated it and called it fried rice. A good many of their dim sum items are frozen, not made from scratch. Brought by my bestie here for a birthday dinner on a Friday night and the entire time there were only 3 tables occupied which was nice having basically having the place to ourselves! The dumplings were delicious and the Peking duck was pretty good! Had lunch there last week. My hot and sour came out on the cool to warm side. The hot and sour chicken was ok, but the broccoli on the plate was cold and raw. My appetizer of pork ribs was a joke, more like pork bones. When I complained that there was no meat on them the waitress came back and said that's what dim sum pork ribs look like. No they don't. I've had them many times.The waitress said they could take 50 percent off, so I paid for something I didn't eat , because they were all bones.we had a friend go with us that had had dinner there and warned us it wasn't good, but I had to try for myself and he was right.
