I've been here a few times for lunch with some coworkers. It's one of the few places that can get us out within 30 min. The food is always what we expect from a decent Americanized Chinese takeout. We come here for the lunch specials. I have nothing against Americanized Chinese but they do tend to be heavier on the sauce and grease side. The highest spice levels are near the bottom compared to authentic stuff. If you want more authentic dishes, head north to Buford Highway. I recall the Shrimp and green beans. It exactly what I expected. There's definitely a little more sugar in it than I'm used to but it was still good. The spring rolls are tiny. Would I come here again? Yea. I know the food here is good, so I wanted to pay for a menu item listed at$13.95 to take to a Nursing Home patient. When I was politely asked to pay $23.95, I cited the menu lunch price of $13.95. The lady politely said they were not serving lunch. I responded with, "It's 1:00 in the afternoon. It's lunchtime." "We are not serving lunch." We have been going to Fortune cookie for over 25 years either to dine in or to take out. They have always been reasonable and and good. Tonight I did take out for two meals, brown rice and three sodas that cost me $70 and then they wanted a 20% tip for takeout the same meal. I had six months ago for chickens was $15 and now it's $24 don't tell me the price of chicken has gone up and I don't believe there's tariff on chicken and vegetables. So the joint itself is good, it's really clean. You come in and it has the decor that you would expect, I really large aquarium, it's really nice on the eyes. Before you get to that point you have to really acknowledge the parking there, because it's an open lot, and it is free parking, But depending on what time you go it's not that great. This is not a ding against the restaurant itself because it's not their fault by any means, but at the same time just be aware that parking could be kind of tight if there is a full parking lot. Soon as you come in at the front door that somebody to greet you, you're greeted immediately and you don't have to wait so I thought that the customer service there was good because you want somebody to see you as soon as you walk in the door. I got in and got immediately seated. My waitress was very friendly and got me some water right away and gave me time to look at the menu. I tried to get a few things so I can try and review a few things so I ended up getting the Pot stickers (w meat), Chicken wings, General tso chicken (comes with soup and rice). The potstickers were pan fried and they were actually pretty good. They came with a ginger soy sauce I think, but it was good and it came with eight of them that were very big. I would definitely order those again. They were thick and they had a lot of filling in them. The chicken wings, were large breaded fried chicken wings. The chicken wings didn't really have any flavor to them. They were fried really well but they weren't seasoned for me. So I would probably not get those again. The general tso Chicken came with an egg roll and you could get it with fried rice or steamed rice. I chose fried rice. The generals chicken was really good. It was fried to damn near perfection and very flavorful! I would hands down get this again! Overall this spot was a hit for me and I would go back to try other things that they have on their menu. I know that the chicken that they have in sauce is good because the chicken that I ordered was solid, so I would maybe try the sesame or the orange chicken next. But everything aligned pretty well for me overall so I don't really have too many complaints and this is definitely a win for me. read more

Uhhh, no. Customer service is not friendly... very abrupt and bothered. The food sizes and the prices! I paid $11.83 for a lb of food. The rice is just brown rice and its hard, not enough water or heated too long. The low mein is ok, but there were about 17 noodles. The spring roll had a piece of cabbage in it and was smaller than the soy sauce packet. I know we are entering a food crisis and recession ... but come on ... this was a rip off. When we go in person, it's usually very busy & you can tell people like me, have been going there for years & really love it! The staff is extremely friendly & thorough. The ambiance is good. There is a large, well tended to aquarium. It's a relatively small space but you don't feel claustrophobic at all. It's a cozy vibe. I always look around & like to see what's happening. It's hard not to enjoy this place, when everyone looks like they are enjoying their food & chatting with their service staff. And...this a big one for me, the restroom is always clean. Always! If I go into a restaurant & the restroom is dirty, I immediately question what's going on in the kitchen, etc... When we get Fortune Cookie delivered, that's always pleasing too. They pay attention to what I ask for & any special requests, ie - less onions or extra homemade mustard sauce. I love that I can count on them for getting it right. Fortune Cookie used to be my go to restaurant whenever I wanted shrimp fried rice. I have not ordered food from this restaurant since the Covid pandemic, so I decided to order lunch today. I didn't see the lunch menu but decided to order food anyway, despite the increase in prices. The food arrived securely packaged and it looked delicious; however, I was disappointed because no utensils were provided. I had the most deplorable lunch I've had in a long time... Was surprised it was open on Monday and then to my surprise I found out it was under new ownership... No one in the restaurant.. I had to get my own salt and pepper ...there was one measly napkin on the table and could not find anyone to get me a knife... The flavors of the shrimp and the walnuts were out of this world! My tummy is still dancing and jumping for joy! The vegetable fried rice was ok! For me, it could have used more vegetables instead of what seemed like fragments compared to the amount of rice! The next time I order the walnuts and shrimp, I will add a pinch of cayenne pepper just cause I like some heat! We got the General Tso's Chicken ($14.50), Spring Rolls - Pork ($3.95), Chicken Fried Rice ($10.95), Mongolian Beef ($15.95), Spring Rolls - Vegetable ($3.95). It was a little on the pricey side but I thought the portion sizes were good and I'll have leftovers for days. My other tiny complaint is that I wish they had egg rolls instead of spring rolls. We couldn't actually tell the difference between the vegetable version and pork version and they weren't marked on the packaging. As you can imagine parking can be a challenge during lunch time it was about 12:30pm but we managed to find a good spot. We were seated promptly but our waitress seemed a bit short with us. Nonetheless, we heard the food is pretty good here so we proceeded to order. We ordered mandarin shrimp, mandarin chicken, seafood soup. Food was decent compared to other Chinese food restaurants I've tried in Atlanta. The meal came with a spring roll and soup. The spring roll was just OK and the hot n sour soup was pretty tasty. I wasn't sure what to expect since I've never heard of the place. The 3.5 stars seems like it should def be at least 4. The entire dish was tasty and the beef was tender. It came in really dark brown sauce and I was initially worried about the sodium level and it wasn't bad. Also, my husband said he enjoyed his pork lo mein and liked the way they sliced and the size. This is a solid option for Chinese food in the city. When you're in the mood for classic Chinese, not the gourmet version, but classic Chinese flavors at a reasonable price, this is a good place to visit. I ordered online through the website which used DoorDash as the POS for pick up on a Friday night. It said the order would only take 20 minutes which was surprising to me how quick it was, but it was ready before I even arrived 20 minutes later. We ordered sweet and sour soup, egg roles, sesame chicken, and chicken lo mein. The order also came with rice. I think the soup was very tasty, the lo mein was standard and the chicken was alright. I usually want sesame chicken to have a slightly more crunchy exterior, but this just felt soggy. Due to COVID, orders are only available to go so if you were able to eat at the restaurant, you may be more impressed with the chicken. The portions were very generous and the food was still tasty the next day. Heads up, there is parking available in this complex, but it can be very crowded.
