The Spring Rolls were delicious, especially when paired with the warm Fish Maw Soup with Crab Meat. The Beef Chow Fun that I've had this time was quite heavy, though I liked it. It is still my favorite dish from Canton cook. As well as the crab meat soup. The vegetable fried rice was quite nice, but I was surprised that the veggies were steamed rather than stir-fried. Anyone who orders the vegetable fried rice should be aware that the veggies are steamed which makes the dish a bit wet rather than dry. read more

Very good Chinese food. The place seems authentic. We had some chicken fried rice, moo goo gai pan, hot and sour soup, sweet and sour pork, egg drop soup, egg rolls and pork egg foo young. While it was all tasty, the egg rolls were the main attraction. They were the biggest I've ever eaten with an excellent flavor. If I had to buy just one thing, it would be a platter of those! We were overall pleased, though a little disappointed at the sheer cost of the food. We got a lot, but we've gotten similar amounts before and it's cost a lot less elsewhere. Also, we asked for bean sprouts on everything possible, so we expected the moo goo gai pan and the fried rice to have something in them but there were no beansprouts to be found. A big spacious dining room with tables and booths. We arrived on a sunny and warm Friday evening about 5:30PM. We could see several waitresses gathered in expectation for the dinner rush. And based on the phone calls during out visit, they receive a lot of to-go orders. For an appetizer we had the Pork Egg Rolls and the Hong Kong Style Wonton Soup. The egg rolls were mostly cabbage and it was very difficult to find (let alone taste) any pork bits. However, they were a good size and nicely cooked. The soup had lots of baby bok choy and the pork dumplings in it were very delicious. For our entrees we had the Orange Beef and Mongolian Beef, both served with a generous container of steamed rice. The Mongolian Beef was nicely flavored. However, the Orange Beef was more sour than citrus flavored and the texture was a bit gristly. They do not have fountain drinks, and soft drinks are served in cans. Service was decent and the food was delivered in a good time frame and while still fresh and hot. read more

Service: Quick and thorough, walked in to place a togo order and it was done in about 15 minutes. Food: Reminded me of the Chinese food back in California and they have some menu items that arent usually offered. I got an order of garlic pork chops, shrimp egg foo young and house fried rice. Fantastic. Much larger space than I thought and plenty of seating. Very clean and quiet. The food was delicious and the servings are HUGE. I SWEAR I'll get three meals out of the Orange Chicken. It is not spicy at all, but has a clear orange flavor. The Egg foo yung was a huge double portion. Come hungry or realize you will have left overs. The service was quick and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would only recommend they give more rice with the dishes. However, for leftovers you may want to make fresh rice at home. The chairs are sturdy and lots of booths or tables. The chairs matter when having a wonderful lunch with Mom. We came here cause we had a craving for some Chinese food! We had a bunch of dishes and all of them were huge and tasty! My favorite was the Peking Pork Chops, it had lots of meat and not too many bones, had a sweet and tangy taste! Definitely this is my go to place when I come back to Atlanta! We had seen several reviews on Yelp for Canton Cook so we decided to try them for lunch. The restaurant is a little tricky to pull into if you are driving east on Canton Road but it is well worth the effort. Upon arrival we were seated at a booth and given menus. A server quickly came to our table to get our drinks orders. We both ordered off of the lunch menu. You get your choice of soup and a Spring roll along with your entree and rice (fried or steamed) The soup was delicious and we both enjoyed our entrees. The portions are huge and we both took home a large portion of our entrees. The restaurant is bright and cheery and very clean. This is another review for somewhere that isn't exactly the prettiest place on the inside, but their food is great. We went for a late lunch on Saturday, because my wife had a craving for Chinese food. I ordered the roasted duck with ginger & green onions, which was probably my favorite of the three entrees. It had a very complex sauce, and I couldn't quite identify the aromatic spice that elevated it (possibly allspice or cardamom), but whatever it was, it definitely paired really well with the slight sweetness from the ginger & onions. You also want to be aware that the duck is *not* boneless, so be sure to inspect each bite; unexpectadly chomping down into a bone will make most people lose their appetite. Their egg rolls are big & very full of shredded cabbage but not a lot of pork sausage. I loved them with the chili garlic sauce that they make in house, just be sure to use it judiciously, as it is on the hot end of the spectrum. My wife loved her hot & sour soup, and she's definitely a connoisseur of it. It's thick & rich, pairs really nicely with the wonton crackers. The beef with black bean sauce highlights the sweet aromatic essence of bell pepper, and the salty/savory flavor of the black beans balance out the sauce. The beef with black mushrooms was probably my 2nd favorite, having a savory & slightly sweet profile, and lots of vegetable accompaniments (bamboo shoots, carrots, onions, snow peas). The decor is a bit dated, but it's pretty clean. Neither one of us used the restrooms, so I can't comment about those. We're definitely going back, but I doubt we'll order anything with crab or lobster. The live tank's contents didn't look very lively, if you catch my drift. I also found it slightly odd that so much of their staff ate openly in the dining room. I guess I'm just used to employees having their meals in a more discreet location. Not a deal breaker, just unusual. Our servers were relatively attentive, but considering that we were only one of maybe six other tables, it took a little while to get our orders. All in all, you can find some Buford Highway level food here without having to drive all the way there, and it's definitely one of the best Asian restaurants I've had in the Marietta/Woodstock/Kennesaw area. Have ordered from them many times and the food was always OK. This latest time we ordered $90 worth of food and the fried gyoza that they sent was absolutely awful. My son took one bite and spit it out. I called them and they said the only thing they could do is if we get in the car, drive it back and they redo it for us. I told them there's no way I'm getting in my car and driving back to the restaurant to return subpar food that I paid for and they said there's nothing else we can do and they hung up on me. read more

This was our first time trying Canton Cook and the food was fresh and tasted really good. We ordered curry shrimp, shrimp and broccoli, braised wings, sesame chicken and fried rice (shrimp, house and plain fried rice). Everyone enjoyed their food! So this is my second visit to Kenton Cook's the Marietta location. I got two lunch combinations, general taos chicken and house fried rice lunch combo when I tell you, this is my new favorite Chinese restaurant of all of Atlanta! This is real deal old school, Chinese New York style Chinese with flavor. I called him my order by the time I got there it was ready. Service was great In-N-Out. The inside is clean it's not somewhere that's a five star no but it's great for what it is. I definitely want to go sit down and enjoy the food. When I added that general taos chicken. To the house fried rice, Lord have mercy. It was off the chain. Spring rolls I didn't get to try because they kind of got soggy because I wanted the pork egg rolls. The pork egg rolls are big, but if anything I would say they're not it it's a lot of feeling, but not a lot of flavor. That is the only knock I would give, but I have a friend that taught me a little trick when you get sesame chicken general chicken, and their eggrolls aren't good empty out the filling and stuff it with the chicken and you got the soft chicken with the crunchy exterior of the eggroll. When I tell you, they are 3 for 3 the house special fried rice the General's chicken and shrimp eggroll. I'm gonna try some other things as I go back and I'll be honest with you. I'm trying the lunch combinations moving forward when I try new things because it's cheaper but then you know if I don't like it hey but it's still big portions for the lunch menu. Another thing if you want that chicken wing they give you in a lunch combo oh yeah you gonna want a whole order of them chicken wings that's just how good they are when they're fresh. Ambiance: Beautiful color choices for interior with stunning chandeliers, but then parts of the restaurant don't fit with the decor. It would look so much better if they had a screen in front of the server station and the crab tank looks crowded, not very appealing. I also think it was odd that you constantly hear carts because that's what they use to bring food & clear tables. After talking to a friend recently, she highly recommended Canton Cook for its takeout service. So, since my husband likes fried rice on Fridays and our go to Chinese restaurant gone, we decided to try it. I ordered online. There was no way to communicate preferences. I ordered shrimp fried rice for my husband and shrimp lo mein for myself. We were offered a choice of sides. We picked egg rolls. The total cost was $27 and change, $10.95 each order, $1 convenience fee (!) , tax and 15% tip. When we unpacked our containers, we saw that our egg rolls had rolled into liquid and thus were soggy. Rice and pasta are cheap ingredients. So we were disappointed that there were hardly any vegetables. And almost no flavor. We both had to add soy sauce. Very disappointing. Lunch specials(Monday-Friday) cannot be beat for selections, taste, portions are very generous, wait service and price. Seating was quick, water brought to table quickly made my selection and I had my soup in just a few minutes. Within 6-8 minutes of placing my order my main course was brought to my table. We've been in quite a few times and love this place We tried the honey garlic chicken wings today $17 which were delicious! So glad we tried these out! They were tender and so flavorful! I loved the sauce! Dungeness crab with ginger and scallion (~$45). We normally get the sea bass ~$60 but tried this today instead. It was ok but I wasn't a huge fan. The crab may have been overcooked because the shell stuck to the meat so it was a pain to take apart but it tasted pretty good. I forgot what it's actually called but it was great, love the texture difference in the crispy outside noodles and soft inside noodles. It came with a ton of toppings too For a vegetable, we always get snow pea leaves and they're a great side item - garlicky, not too salty. House fried rice had tons of meat in it and rice was the optimal texture - great size portion. Best place for Cantonese Chinese food imo around the north Cobb area. You can't get this type of dishes anywhere else around the area. Sure you can get Chinese food but not like this. Not pictured is the fish maw soup. It was so good, I basically drank it like a Gatorade after running a 5k. If you want to eat ginger scallion lobster right, you got to dig in there with your hands. There's no way you can eat it pretty and actually enjoy it. I got it to-go and went berserk on it w. My gf. It was super good. Prices were good. Canton in Marietta is the best Chinese food in the area hands down. This is our go to every time we want a good Chinese meal. We recently visited this stand alone location for dinner. The service as usual was good. We were seated right away and offered water, tea etc.. the restaurant on the inside is a bit dated but the fresh made food makes up for it. During this visit we had generals chicken, moo-sho vegetable, sweet n sour chicken, house chow fun, fried rice and vegetable Lomein. We also started with sweet n sour soup and a wanton soup. While this is the best Chinese food in the area it's also the most expensive but worth it for what you get from a portion perspective and food quality perspective. This is our family's new fave place to go to. They have your typical American chinese fare and then some traditional chinese meals as well. Food always comes fresh and piping hot. Quick and no fuss. Food is jam packed with flavor. Now, some of their dishes can come heavy handed with the breading and the sauces that it's overwhelming - hence, minus one star. With that said, the breaded/ fried foods aren't oily - a great sign that they cook food in high temp. My faves: pan fried noodles with shrimp. Honey garlic or Peking fried pork chops (you may want to ask them to go easy on the sauce) and their egg drop soup. Sometimes, we order off of the "dinner combo" menu where you get two bowls of soup, 2 pork egg roll, 4 fried chicken wing, rice and 2 meat entrees for $43. So far, everything we've ordered came out quick, fresh, and tasty. They also give out gigantimous portions!! All in all, solid execution on food when it comes to quantity and quality. One of the server saw us and she decided to wait and talk to other customers in a social way instead of serving us. However, some were nice to refill water and check up on us. I am very grateful that this location is open closer rather than having a far drive to Sandy Springs. The food here is good, my favorite part was the fried calamari. Duck barely had any meat though.
