Pappadeaux is always packed no matter the location. Parking takes some patience. The service was decent. The spinach dip appetizer is shrinking in size, yet it seems like the price has increased. Then they charge extra for garlic bread versus the crust that comes with it, which is like, okay, cool, but with the small dish of spinach and crab dip, it makes it almost not worth the change and extra cost. On my last few visits, I've ordered the Texas Redfish Pontchartrain, so after reviewing the menu, I decided to go that route again. The server informed me that they were out of that fish and offered me the option of choosing another fish. We discussed the trout and the snapper. As long as it was filet, I did not have a preference. The server recommended snapper. I agreed. The entire meal was really delicious from the sauce to the fish and shrimp. I was charged à la carte for everything on the plate down to the sauce for that meal, which was confusing because I thought they were giving me the option to order the same meal and swap the fish. Instead, they charged me as if it was my request to rearrange the meal and charged me for the fish swap, the sauce, etc. The server did make some adjustments so it aligned to the pricing of the meal somewhat. The brownie dessert is always delectable. The meal took a little minute to come out, but once it did, everything was good. I did like that they brought the kids meals to the table as soon as they were ready, which was extremely awesome and insightful. read more

I had an amazing facial and needed some lunch so I stopped by pappadeaux for a solo lunch date. This location has been a staple for quite some time so really easy to get to. I went online before hand and made a reservation. It worked out because I got a nice view and a nice seat by the window as requested. Hostess and waitress were AMAZING. Maya served me and she was phenomenal. Hands down knew everything about her menu, the specials, and complimented everything that I asked about. Food - again was 20/10! I got a pair of oysters, a raspberry fritz drink, and the snapper meal along with garlic bread. The only complaint and reason for the 3 stars is because they don't take Apple pay. I was highly disappointed because I am a virtual girly. My license is now on my phone. I have had so much scamming happening with my real cards - I only carry my digital wallet with me. I had to go on the website, purchase a gift card, and then pay for my meal that way. It was insane. Just imagine if I didn't have that option or a physical card? Would I be in jail ? So nice, we dined here twice during our five night stay in the area. Goblets of cold Stella and the "Louisiana" Andouille Sausage & Seafood Gumbo were divine. I'd give this location 3 stars overall. The food was good, but the wait time was the worst part of the experience. To be fair, we had a large party, so I can't completely blame the restaurant for that. The parking situation is also pretty crazy. There's basically one way in and one way out, and the lot is shared with Pappasito's Cantina, so it gets very congested when it's busy. Once we were seated, things went smoother. The service was solid, and our server did a good job managing a big table. I ordered the Crispy Salmon & Jumbo Crab with mashed potatoes, and the food came out hot and fresh. The salmon had a nice crisp on the outside and was tender inside, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and good. Overall the food was good and the experience was decent, but between the wait and the parking situation, it made the visit feel a little more hectic than expected. The hostess said it was ashy a problem and that their seat is in less than 10 minutes. We waited 20 and I headed back in to check the status. There's was a different hostess (a group of 3 younger adults). They seemed confused and couldn't find my reservation. I explained again treat we were a few minutes early and what the prior hostess said. They again told me to give them 10 minutes. At this point, we are approaching my original reservation time. During all this, ppl that didn't even have a reservation were seated before us. I went back after 10 more minutes and a third hostess was there. Yes, I had to explain the situation again and she seated us instantly. We stayed but it left a bad taste in our mouths for sure. As we looked around, there were at least ten employees standing around the front of house with nothing to do. It's not a good look after the wait and inconvenience we had. I usually eat at the Jimmy Carter location and I should have done so this recent visit. Alas, I visited this particular Pappadeaux and left feeling pretty disappointed. I live in MD, so I was super excited to eat at Pappadeaux (this is not a chain we have in MD despite being known for seafood). I love Pappadeaux food and eat it when I can (visits to Atlanta, and the Hobby airport in TX). I already knew what I wanted to order when I arrived which was: -A Swamp Thing -Stuffed shrimp with fries subbed out for dirty rice -A side of broccolini The Swamp Thing came out first and immediately I noticed it's level was not the same as my friend's Swamp Thing. It was considerably lower. Then it became even lower than that once I took out the pineapple! I'd taken a few sips, but ultimately decided to send it back and have another one brought to the table WITHOUT pineapple. That drink is almost $20. It needs to be full of the alcohol I am paying for, not watered down and over fruited. While all this was going on, my entree came out, the stuffed shrimp and dirty rice. Everything on the plate was amazing and I ate it all. The "broccolini" came out separately a little after my entree. I went to eat the broccolini and it was thicker than usual (like regular broccoli) and VERY hard. Like, not cooked much at all. So, I sent that back too. The waiter was a nice guy and I tried not to take my dissatisfaction out on him, but he was the one I was sending food and drink back with. First off let me say that Kiara(I hope that's how it's spelled) was absolutely fantastic! I hate to leave this review, but I feel it is necessary to help others. We went to Pappadeaux at Windy Hill to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately our encounter was extremely disappointing. We ordered two appetizers, including the shrimp and crab fondue, and my son found a bug in the fondue. At that point, we immediately stopped eating. The manager came over, apologized, and said she would have another one prepared which we appreciated but we weren't sure if we even wanted it. We had to make a fast decision if we would leave or stay, but since it was Friday We honestly considered leaving, but we were starving and didn't feel like going somewhere else, so we stayed. However, after that, we were really surprised that there was very little follow-up from the manager, no effort from management the attempt to recover the experience. Our server, Skye, was very apologetic and did what she could, but overall the customer service from management was extremely disappointing. At Pappadeaux's price point, finding a bug in your food is already unacceptable, but the lack of proper service recovery made it worse. This should have been handled very differently, and quite frankly, the entire meal should have been compensated. What happened to making sure guests actually have a good dining experience? We chose not to escalate things in the moment, but I can say confidently that I will not be returning to this location. I would strongly encourage others to double-check their food. read more

They placed us in a private room that had been converted to accommodate larger parties, which honestly made the experience feel even more special. The mix of crab, crawfish, shrimp, and mushrooms is always a hit. My table ordered a variety of dishes including the Mardi Gras pasta, the andouille and shrimp gumbo, and the halibut. One person thought they ordered the halibut extravaganza but actually received a simpler version with potatoes. Had the pleasure of joining old and new friends at Pappadeaux's Seafood Kitchen this evening and both food and service exceeded expectations! Prompt, friendly, and attentive service complemented a wonderful dining experience. Started off with shrimp gumbo with lots of shrimp and just the right kick. The salad was a Greek Salad with feta cheese and Greek dressing and quite large. For the 3 entrees we had the salmon and shrimp platter with a perfectly executed medium cooked salmon retaining a flavorful moist texture served with cream spinach. The 10 oz filet was served medium with brocolini and mashed potatoes, as good as most steakhouse filets we've tried. Then my favorite fried seafood platter with 2 large catfish filets, crab stuffed shrimp, stuffed crab, and fried shrimp and oysters served on a pile of crispy fries...delightful. Hush puppies would have knocked this one over the top! Dessert included wonderfully presented creme brulee with fresh berries and whipped cream. Key lime pie (not pictured) was quite good with a crispy shell also served with berries and whipped cream. It was quite good even though I am not a big fan of key lime pie. If you haven't been to this Windy Hill location, it is a must try. We typically go to the Alpharetta location, but this was quite the treat! I drive out of the way to come to this Papadeux because the one in Norcross is so horrible now. This location has great food and cocktails. I was very pleased to have my favorites cooked the way I remember them. Customer service was great and staff (not my server) really made me feel special on my birthday. My only complaint was my server that neglected my table to pander to an older white man seated next to me. I assume tht she thought tht she would get a better tip from him. I tip well but I know the bias tht is attached to ppl with my appearance dining out. I only wish tht I could have been given just as great service and allowed to represent myself. We had a reservation for 2:00 and we were promptly seated when we arrived. The menu has an extensive selection and I couldn't decide what I wanted. I started with the hot honey gator bites, my mom had the calamari and they both came out hot and freshly cooked. For my entree I had the Texas redfish Pontchartrain that came with dirty rice lump crab, shrimp in a brown butter sauce. It was delicious, my mom had the gumbo and she thoroughly enjoyed it. When overwhelmed with a menu because everything looks and sounds so good, it's always best to ask the server what they think is best. She did not lead us wrong! We wanted fried fish and she said that the pappadeaux platter with sides would be plenty. She was right and we had leftovers. The flavor on the breading was so good! We are usually not the devil crab eaters but this one was meaty and flavorful seasoned better than your regular calabash houses. I think this was also my first time trying crawfish and it was delicious too. & that garlic bread! Wow! No skimping on the butter and herbs-the way it should always be! The hostess kept giving us the running around about our time to be seated. She told us a group had been sitting for two and a half hours they couldn't tell them to get up. The last time I was at a Papadeaux was in Dallas, TX. This chain chef blows it away. I've been 3 times in Marietta and forgot to write a review. I have had these delicious items: lump crab, lobster bites, roasted oysters with Parmesan cheese with spicy garlic bread, calamari, sautéed spinach and the cream spinach dip and margaritas with Patrón!! I tend to enjoy their appetizers because they are a good shareable size or there's leftovers. Each time we had incredible service. The staff here is constantly friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Twice I sat at the bar and once a booth. At the bar, we could see the entire restaurant. It's a clean place and can be loud in the evening. The restaurants both looked the same. Finished by splitting the key lime pie. Too good to describe, but worth mentioning that whipped cream is hand made on site (as I'm sure is probably true of the pie as well - the berries were great).
