This is my #1 go to every spring since my first Atlanta spring in 2012 to get truly fresh crawfish. When they are not in season they don't do the boils and that's fine with me because who wants that old mess? Not me! Super casual spot, I'm sure prices are based on the market. Last week i went i think they were $14/lb but when i tell you they were Big, Juicy, and well seasoned....i think it might be downplaying. So good! Also honorable mentions are the gator bites and the fried catfish. I typically don't order fried catfish at many restaurants because it ends up looking and tasting like a piece of mystery fish covered in a wet batter like long John silvers or a Light dust of flour. Idk where they do that at and like it, but i like mine crispy with corn meal. I've even ordered on door dash and when it arrived it was still hot and crispy! It's a small spot, free parking in the lot and on the street. Good drinks, good service, good vibes. Pros: Customer service. Environment. Staff Food wait time was quick. Cons: Food is the biggest miss. We ordered gumbo, shrimp poboy, blackened fish and étouffée, crab claws & onion strings. The best thing today, was the onion strings. Everything else was underwhelming :/. We wanted to order a few more dishes to give a solid review, however after tasting the gumbo and entrees, we figured everything else on the menu would be bland. Drinks weren't that amazing either. Don't get the polomar or electric lemonade. We attempted to get it removed but unfortunately, management wouldn't allow - so we took an L. If you guys could maybe add some seasoning to your dishes, that would definitely elevate the plate. The gumbo literally tasted like the étouffée & neither had any seasoning at all. A little bit of a dive bar. Actually it's a full dive bar but it's actually really good. I was feeling like I wanted some off the beaten path Cajun food and I found it. You'll go ahead and park in the lot and a lot is free. But you are supposed to only be parking in this lot if you are in going to the restaurant that this lot support so don't try to park there or you might get towed. I don't know. Either way they have free parking so that's the important part. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor is covered so you don't have to worry about the weather if something does happen. Indoor is pretty small. There's a decent sized bar area and multiple seats but it's not very big. You actually might have the same size seating, indoor and outdoor actually. I sat at the bar last time I went and the bar too look's pretty cool. We chopped it up for a little bit before I order just so I can see what I wanted. Voodoo wings - The wings were good. They came sauced, and the sauce was pretty decent. I would have rather just have lemon pepper but that's not the situation LOL but for what they were, they were good. Gumbo - The gumbo was a decent size of gumbo for a small cup. But it was very flavorful. Only thing was you may come across a shrimp tail somewhere in there, but I can't be mad at that. But the flavor and The taste was definitely present in the gumbo and I would actually go back for a full bowl next time. Oyster po boy - The oyster po-boy was pretty good. It felt like it needed the sauce on it, it was a little bit dry but it still had a lot of flavor to it. I'll go back and try some more from this spot. They did a really good job of my first impression. Now you don't get real New Orleans food outside of New Orleans a lot of times, but some things are comparable. I chose to go here for the LSU game, as it is a Louisiana bar. The place is decked out with LSU and New Orleans decor. They have great specials throughout the week, including $5 Abitas for game day and $7 cocktails on Saturday. There is a decent amount of seating - both indoor and outside on a covered patio with small TVs around the place. They did play the LSU game out loud, but the speaker was very low and hard to hear with people talking at the bar. Because of this, I ended up only staying one quarter instead of the whole game since I could watch it on a bigger TV with more volume at home. I ordered the mixed basket and chose grilled shrimp and fried alligator, which comes with Cajun fries. The platter was huge and I couldn't finish it all. The grilled shrimp were big, cooked perfectly, and seasoned great. I wasn't a fan of the alligator though. It was more fried than gator and was chewy. Next time, I would go with solely the grilled shrimp platter. Overall, the food is decent but nothing to rave about -- or at least not what I ate. Still in search of the perfect poboy in Atlanta and reviews brought me here. Service is very friendly and your food comes out hot and relatively quick. I saw the crab claws on the appetizers and had to have them, they were yummy. My husband had the fried catfish basket and I had the 1/2 shrimp poboy. The catfish was nice and crispy and flaky and tender on the inside. The poboy was good, however it still wasn't on the level of what I'm looking for. Nevertheless the I would go back. We ordered 2 salads & alligator bites as an appetizer, they had a little sweetness to them with a creole mayo sauce. We also ordered the shrimp po-boy & combo basket w/ catfish & chicken tenders. The catfish was cooked/seasoned perfectly & the tenders had a hand breaded taste to them. Service is prompt & never out of sight. My family and I are from the Big Easy , so we were prepared ourselves to be ready to judge and we were not disappointed with the crawfish ; it was not overly seasoned but tasty. The sausage was authentic D&D sausage (which is the crème de la creme). The service was excellent, the waitresses were very professional, polite and made we were taken care of very well ( hospitality at its finest). The ambiance was right on point!! Went for Fat Tuesday. Great service. Fun atmosphere. The crawfish were well seasoned and flavorful. Its early in the season for crawfish so they were small and some soft ones. This is no fault of theirs. We were happy to get our crawfish fix. Can't wait to come back for their Wednesday boils. If they are this good in February, it can only get better. My first time visiting. The food and service was good but I was disappointed when I got my ticket to see there was a cash price and a card price. For a restaurant, seriously. I feel like something should be done about this. You are charging customers to pay your card fees without any notice. At least tell customer before hand. Local Atlanta restaurant owners are wondering why people don't frequent their establishments. This is one reason. A franchise restaurant has never had a credit/cash price in my experience. Today I had the alligator & oyster combination platter with fries. Everything was served hot and fresh. Properly seasoned and fried. I also had the gumbo. It was tasty. I ordered the Fried combo platter with Cajun chicken fingers and fried catfish which came with Cajun fries, hush puppies and I chose the creole Mayo. I of course had to order a side of red beans and rice and gave the small order of voodoo wings a try. The red beans and rice were so plain. Needed salt so badly, no taste at all. Two bites and I tossed it. The voodoo wings were fried nicely but I could barely taste the sauce. It was rather weak. The combo platter was so disappointing. The catfish wasn't seasoned good at all and the Cajun chicken fingers were just as bad. The fries were mediocre and the hush puppies were tasteless. The creole Mayo was ok, wouldn't order it again though. After a miss on all three items I just can't give this place another try. Especially with the bland red beans and rice. Came in today and brought my family visiting from out of town. Tatiana was our server she was so sweet and knowledgeable of the menu. We sat 5 adults and one baby plenty space at the outdoor seating. For appetizer we got the Cajun queso really good with a slight spicy kick The hurricanes were tasty not as strong as the ones in New Orleans but still really good. Aside from the boss, I went to dine in with my sister last night and I ordered the Bourbon Salmon Salad with spicy ranch sauce (yummy) + Lemonade cocktail (wasn't watered down) , & my sister ordered the Shrimp Basket. They are a bit understaff as well so it can tough juggling multiple clients at once. Overall we had a good experience! Waiter got our drink orders ASAP, she came back and took our food orders, food came out shortly after, and she checked back on us here and there.
