Plenty of private lot parking. The inside is huge and very welcoming. Staff are friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. Ask for the chicken to be spicy. They gave pretty big portions. The Belgium waffles have sugar crystals in them and are tasty with the syrup. I also enjoyed the beer.
We had dinner at Bold Monk Brewing Company on Tuesday. The beer and food were good, and so were the service and atmosphere. This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.
I tried two different beer flights and a cider but couldn't find one that I liked. The food did not disappoint though. I ordered the wings with a sticky spicy cayenne sauce. Then a chorizo pizza fresh and crispy along with the ham and cheese. All delicious with a good portion size. I walked around to see the bookstore and event areas. The space is a beautiful venue with a good amount of parking space. If you don't have a venue sized party you can still bring your friends they have room. Buy cocktails instead of beer or something bottled that you know. Then eat the delicious food and be catered to by a great waiter. You won't be disappointed.
Love checking out breweries whenever I travel and this unique spot, did not disappoint. This brewery offers Southern-style cooking & drinks provided in a cavernous Belgium style brewpub featuring a terrace & a bookstore. Like your favorite piece of music or your most prized work of literature, the Bold Monk exists to bring comfort in your time of leisure. It's a beautifully decorated massive venue, with two full floors of service and also features a beer garden. Bold Monk is a place to simply be...to be satisfied, to be joyous, to be connected, to be well. To be yourself! We ordered some beers (note: they also offer a full bar and many cocktail options) and two appetizers (salmon dip & the bitterballen). My absolute favorite was salmon dip. My only complaint is that they didn't provide enough toast. The salmon tasted fresh, loved the texture and seasoning and it was light while also filling. Overall it was a positive experience. The price point was fare considering the offerings and quality and the service was great!
Okay okay I had to come back here because I wanted chill vibes to watch football. They were surprisingly not very busy Sunday afternoon and easily snagged two seats at the bar where football was playing. We were greeted right away by the bartender and offered us menus. I'm not a drinker so opted for a mocktail, Prepare Yourself - I was wearing trying it because it has ginger beer AND matcha but it was refreshing! For food, my husband and I shared the lamb burger, salmon dip, wings and Brussel sprouts. The lamb burger was cooked medium and juicy and served with fries with some delicious sauce. The salmon dip was smoky and creamy and serve with toast. The wings I did not get to try but hubby said was sweet and spicy. My all time favorite here are the brussel sprouts - I don't know what they do with them but they are so good! During this time, I got to venture their second floor where they have a book store, another bar and beer garden. This is easily one of my faves to go to for good food, great cocktails and vibes.
This place was so cool! The outdoors spaces are beautiful and there's even a bookstore upstairs. Their beers are great and their food is delicious! If you're in Atlanta, definitely check this place out. Full bar too.
This is a review of brunch. We looked at the menu online and came for the Dutch thin pancakes. We arrive and it is no longer on the menu. Bummer. Menus should match! Wanting something more European based I ordered the skillet eggs. It was beyond bland. It has zero flavor. I asked for hot sauce or something to bring it to life. Nothing worked. So I ordered mussels which are delicious. The beer is always good. I say skip brunch items here.
They get a FIVE/FIVE for that fish sandwich!!!! You have to go to get the FISH SANDWICH! The waitress told me it was the best and she wasn't lying!!!!
This was my first visit to Bold Monk Brewing, and I look forward to returning. I attended a group outing here. We were seated in a private area, and were well cared for by two attentive servers who ensured our needs were met throughout the meal. We enjoyed a variety of drinks and dishes, served promptly, including chicken and waffles, the bold breakfast plates, salads, and other selections. I personally ordered the Blue Winged Angel cocktail and the grilled chicken kale salad, both of which I really enjoyed. My salad was a nice portion, which was enough for two people. To conclude our visit, we received a complimentary dessert from Chef Tony, who, along with owner Alan LeBlanc, graciously visited with us during our time there. Overall, our experience exceeded expectations, and I cannot wait to visit again in the future!
Woke up wanting brunch and if you know me, I won't turn down a beer to go with my food. One of my secret pleasures is good Belgian beer. Not enough breweries attempt it, and a lot when they do ends up being frankly underwhelming. Bold Monk Brewing stacked up awards for their beers for good reason - some of the best American belgian style beers I have had! The Virtue of Patience: A Flanders Red Ale aged in American White Oak Foeders blended with a small portion of the previous batch for 12 months. Discipline: A Belgian Dubbel that has won World Beer Cup Bronze in 2025 and Gold at US Open Beer Championships in 2020. Indominus: A Belgian Quadrupel that won Gold at the 2023 US Open Beer Championships. The Way: A Belgian Tripel that won Gold at US Open Beer Championships in 2021 and 2024. _____
Had a ceaser salad and it was good and crunchy! Tried a couple different beers which are ask super tasty! Our server (I think her name was Mikayla) was really attentive and nice ! The place is kid friendly. We brought our 11 month old baby and the server brought out a crayon and paper for her. Upstairs was really cool too!
Came in for brunch with some friends. We got there right as they opened on a Sunday and had no issues getting a table. They have a large brunch menu with options for everyone. I got the berry waffles and it was a lot of food! I barely finished half. Would recommend as a good brunch spot for a group!
My friend and I were in the area to grab food elsewhere but their wait was much longer than what our stomachs would allow. Instead we tried this place as she had been before. We were able to snag seats at their large bar right away. We shared their Monk burger and lamb burger over an old fashion and margarita. Both burgers were tasty in their own ways but the lamb burger had more twang to it. The drinks were well made but I did find my old fashion to be sweeter than I like. Overall, it's a traditional brewery/bar vibe that I would like to come again. Staff were friendly and the parking is easy since they have their own private lot.

Second times a charm! I came here on a Sunday afternoon and this time I actually tried a beer, a pilsner! Also I sampled a lot of the other stuff. The service was great and I ordered the pork chops entree. The meal came with mashed potato and green beans. I really enjoyed the mashed potato and green beans but the pork chop was a little over cooked for me. However the pork chop was very well seasoned. Great flavor! The ambiance was cool, inside and out. Maybe next time I'll bring a date here. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to coming back in the future. read more

I recently went to Bold Monk Brewing for a friend's baby shower, and we rented out the upstairs space. It was spacious and beautifully decorated, making it a nice setting for a large gathering, although the room was a little dim. I ordered the lamb burger cooked medium-well, and it was delicious and full of flavor. The service was the main drawback. We had a large party, but our drinks took a long time to arrive. Our waitress had already started bringing out the food, and we still hadn't received them. read more

Really unique and cool place!! They have a variety of beers and a small cocktail menu too. I've had the chicken sandwich there and it's pretty good. Interested to try the pizzas next as they all sounded delicious. Bartenders are very attentive and easy to get drinks. Actual space is very open with multiple levels inside and outside area. Even has a little reading nook with bookshelves. There was a DJ there when I went last time who set the vibe. Easily becoming one of my favorite bars/restaurants! read more
Beautiful space with amazing food, brews, and views! Location and Parking Located in West Midtown, parking is located directly in front of the building; parking is plentiful and free. Venue and Atmosphere Enjoy the outdoor seating and greenery as you proceed to the massive double doors to enter Bold Monk. Once you are inside, feel free to peruse the merchandise near the host stand. Bold Monk is a massive venue, with two floors of full food/beverage service, a bookstore, and a beer garden as well. It is beautifully decorated, and even has a private room for events overlooking the distillery. Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. We had service on both levels since we played trivia after dinner, and all of the staff were wonderful. Food and Beverages I enjoyed the Caesar salad (I asked for extra dressing), pizza (the crust was perfect), as well as the waffle with ice cream. Everything was delicious! The arlo-basque style cider was good as well, it's more sour than sweet but the flavors balance nicely. I'm not a beer drinker but they do have a wide variety of wine, ciders, and cocktails as well. Verdict I'll definitely visit again in the spring, so I can fully enjoy the beer garden with warm weather. read more
Bloody Mary is fantastic and was nervous about their brunch menu but was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast burrito is large so may need to split it. They had corn in it which was absolutely delightful. Salmon toast one of the eggs was fully overcooked. The salmon wasn't like lox it was more cooked and that is not what you expect for Benedict. Do not recommended. Service amazing and parking fantastic for where it is near the works. read more

My husband and I love this place. We visit the ATL area 2 or 3 times a year and always try to make a visit to Bond Monk. The ambiance/vibes are solid. The place in general is interesting and huge! This visit we sat at the bar and Patrice took great care of us. Our fave appetizer are the wings with the delicious honey chile sauce. This time we decided to split the lamb burger (which I've had before) and it did not disappoint. I also love the additional sauces you can add to dip with your fries. Hubs always has a couple beers, and I usually have a cocktail. We hope to eventually try the brunch! read more
I cannot say enough great things about Bold Monk. From the beer to the food to the service to the atmosphere- this truly is a must visit place. It's beautiful decor creates an upscale feeling space but with a casual, fun vibe. You absolutely must do yourself a favor and take a walk around and take it all in. The service was excellent. I sat at the bar and our bartender was awesome to talk with. He was attentive and came with plentiful recommendations. I loved the beer. There was a large variety to choose from including crispy lagers and traditional style, wildly fermented sours which I love. Food was incredible. You must get the poutine. It was a huge portion. Finding the place is not a straight line but it was well signed. The parking lot was full at 11:30 am on a Saturday which I took as a good omen and I was not wrong. I was given a table by the window and both lunch and brunch menus. My server was great, checked on me often enough and was able to describe and explain all the unfamiliar dishes. I opted for the berry waffle with a side of bacon and the Abbey flight of beers. Everything was delivered speedily and with beautiful presentation. First I tasted all four beers, and compared them to each other. Then I ate my fantastic waffle (actually a stack of two) that was yeasty, crispy, sugary, and light. Covered with whipped cream, blueberries, sliced strawberries, and dusted with powdered sugar. Yum! The bacon also delighted me from the "asterisk" arrangement to the warm maple-y flavor mixed with salty, meaty pork. The dining room was busy during my visit but I could hear the music faintly over the sound of conversation. I did not go up to the bookstore above because there was an event happening, and I didn't poke around outside much because it was cold. I do know that I can't wait to go back and try some of the other menu items. read more
Well done! Great location, lovely view out the back window. Comfy feeling. Very enjoyable space. I started with a Shared Spirit IPA. If you are a tropical IPA loving person, this one is for you. We also had frites with truffle and Andalusia sauce. Truffle sauce was outstanding. Andalusia sauce also good but the truffle sauce was not the real winner. For dinner I had the lamb burger and more frites. Very tasty. I love a lamb burger. Service was on point. read more

I've been wanting to price this place for a while since I heard great things about it. I was surprised how big it is and it looks very nice on the inside. Other than the service was slow, everything else was good. After receiving our food we asked for condiments two different services and I had to finally go get it myself. read more
A classy brewery with great food and an extensive beer list. The menu has a lot of tasty sounding dishes so my wife and I split a Caesar salad and the brisket poutine. Really liked the touch of sun dried tomatoes in the salad and the poutine was outstanding. The brisket tasted a lot like pot roast on a bed of fries with cheese and gravy. The beers here were fairly average but a wide array of styles. I really like the ambience of the place and it was family friendly so the kids are welcome. read more

If we had started with Bold Monk, we'd have never gone elsewhere. It ended up being the last beer of the day. A little busy but not full, we had seats at the bar. There are all sorts of tables and a comfortable shaded beer garden in the back. It's a fantastic space with many options to get comfy. I chose the Umibozu, their featured beer. It was crisp. It was light. It was the perfect beer to end our day drinking with. I would have this one again. We will definitely be back here. So I ended up at Bold Monk after a nearby brewery was closed for a private event. It worked out in my favor as this was brewery visit #293 and I do love Belgian beers. Nice big place in a converted warehouse or something, which wasn't very busy at 5:30 on Friday evening but started to pick up. Greg at the bar was very helpful and got the conversation started commenting on my BJJ shirt. So of course we talked BJJ for a few minutes before moving on to beer. He and everyone I interacted with was very friendly. Walk on Water witbier Discipline Dubbel had a great flavor, and even though SWPFTD generally is not a fan of Belgians (Good thing I'm a Polak!) I think she would have liked this one. The Way Tripel was really good. Indominus Quad was probably my favorite. A great example of a quad with nothing out of line. I was a little hungry so I got an order of four bitterballen. These were great. The beet sabayon really set off the brisket. BMB is cool. The beers were really good, and the food was as well. I picked up a shirt and will stop back in when I make it back to town. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks at Bold Monk! We had been here a few times to grab drinks at the bar for happy hour with colleagues.
