Food was great for this type of venue. Some unique items on the menu. Service was stellar. We were there for a FIFA game and there was a lot of hustle from the staff. Fantastic place for the kids. Lots of games, security at the door. Would absolutely go back again. Skol read more

This place is an absolute disaster. The food was greasy, nasty, and nowhere near worth the money. The kitchen setup was especially concerning--it appeared to be operating near the loading dock area, with pest traps nearby, which completely killed my appetite. The overall operation feels poorly managed, and the owner's attitude only makes it worse. He seems more focused on presenting himself as some big entrepreneur than actually running a clean, professional restaurant. Entrepreneur? More like entrepreloser. I would not eat here again, and I definitely would not recommend it. read more

The good: - Food. It's better bar food. Cheese, meat and carb heavy of course to go with drinking. Get the big pretzels, get the corndog nuggets and fried cheese curds - So. Much. Space. Upon walking in, you have no idea how far it'll go, but it's a lot. Two bocce ball courts, pool in soccer form, giant chess and of course the stuff you gotta pay for: axe throwing, darts, and whatever on screen games. Oh yea, and arcade. Arcade offerings are just ok. The not-so-great: Service alone should be a 2, but I'm bumping them up to 4 because of food and space. We came on Dragon Con weekend and Skol Brewing was not seating people when they had tables. They were holding reservation tables for up to 30-40 minutes which is WAY too generous. We watched as 5 parties were turned away and even when the biggest party arrived (a marching band dressed as dalmatians a la 101 Dalmatians), there was STILL empty space. I don't know how long this place will stay open if they operate the way they do. read more

We went this past Saturday for lunch. We arrived before crowds, there was only one or two tables sat when we arrived. Our server wasn't great. She messed up our drink order and our food order and wasn't very attentive. When one of the wrong meals was delivered to our table, we couldn't get anyone's attention to switch it out so I had to take the tray to the hostess stand and wait for someone to come to get it switched. The food also didn't all arrive at once so by the time we were all served, the rest of our food was cold. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The burgers were fine. The cheese curds were disgusting, greasy, and weirdly seasoned/breaded. They were very off putting. read more

This place was interesting and not what you'd expect. Located in a basement-like area, it was absurdly large. As you enter, you see a space with games and arcade machines of the like. As the waitress leads you deeper into the space, you see pool tables and chairs. Then the space really opens up to a huge area with TV's and dining tables in one corner. The middle ish area has these lounge chairs and coffee table for a more intimate interaction. And the space against the wall had darts or some sort of game (I can't remember). Our group ordered some beer and things to snack on: * Cheese curds basket: The Ellsworth cheese curds were salty and pretty oily. I suppose these puppies were fried because they definitely go well with a beer. Overall pretty good but I think the least favored out of the group. * Truffle mac & cheese: The truffle flavor (oil) was there, but it wasn't overwhelming. The cheese itself was cheesy and gooey. Apparently it's their own blend. And with it being baked with panko bread crumbs, this aspect provided a nice crunch that truly was divine. I definitely enjoyed each bite. I'd say the mac & cheese here is a contender for a top spot in my book. * Smoked brisket poutine: The fries (shoe string) were aplenty. The best thing about this pick was how it soaked up the gravy and juices from the 18 hour smoked brisket. The cheese curds were all melted atop everything and was ever so yummy. Okay. I now see the cheese theme going on. But we were heading to a soccer event so I guess loading up on the carbs wasn't a terrible idea. The prices were so so for this part of town. The food overall was pretty good. They were oily and greasy as heck but good none the less. I'm still confused as to why they charged us $0.50 each for the sauce when it's advertised as part of the menu. The hubs definitely didn't like the automatic 20% gratuity. But the gal who tended our table was super friendly and sweet so that wasn't too bad. read more

From the depths of Valhalla, comes a yelp recommendation from the lips of Odin himself! (Sort Of). Skol Brewing is a Nordic-themed bar and grill fit for the Viking hidden within us all. Located in the heart of Atlanta, walking distance from a number of hotels... this themed bar is a MUST if you are into the combo experience of great food and entertainment. The service here was top-notch as our quaint party of four was checked on frequently, (shout out to Phil, the owner!) and never waited long for any requests. Come with an appetite, because making a choice on what to eat here is definitely difficult with such a high quality variety of options you may just end up wanting to order more than you can finish. Based off of what our group ordered, there is really no WRONG choice. The food came out piping hot, jam packed full of flavor and portioned for THOR himself. Can't wait to bring my significant other and friends back to this place, hopefully soon! read more

This was the perfect spot to stop after a World Cup game at the stadium. We were looking for a place with good drinks, food, and somewhere to catch the afternoon games, and Skol Brewery checked all the boxes. It was packed and definitely seemed a little understaffed, but these are busy times, and a little extra patience goes a long way for the people in the industry as they are working so hard. Our server was so sweet and did an awesome job keeping up with the rush. We tried the Northern Lights (Light American Lager) and the Skol Nation (Cold IPA), and both were great. For food, we shared the Smoked Brisket Poutine and the Half Chicken with coleslaw and creamy corn. Everything was really good! The place is huge and even has an arcade, which was fun. Definitely a great spot to grab a beer, enjoy some food, and watch the game! read more

This place is surprisingly large. We came before visiting Centennial park for a event. They have enough event space for an arcade and axe throwing games, both of which was completely empty on a Friday night. I don't know how this place pays the rent. We spent $100 for 4 beers and 3 appetizers. The prices were OK for downtown ATL. The place felt very empty with maybe 5 other tables but it's a great place to watch sports. Cheese curds basket: Cheesy, crunch, and salty. It tastes great the first few bites but we really struggled with to get through it all with the grease. Truffle mac and cheese: Wife's request. Good flavor, mild truffle flavor. Smoked brisket poutine: Probably my favorite. The meat was plentiful and balanced. There was more variety on the plate than the other two appetizers. Service was good, we had our waters refilled plenty of times and the server left us mostly alone to watch TV. I didn't love the mandatory 20% included gratuity for just 3 people. Would I come back? Only if I was in the area. I wouldn't seek out the area but I'm glad we stopped here. The beers at the bar were $10 each and $5 for the special. The beer at Centennial event were $20 each. read more

Great spot in the ATL to watch a Vikes game! Food is excellent and a wide variety of drink options as well. The new gaming area is a blast!

I could not believe how giant this space is. So it's no surprise they're trying to do many different things with it: brewery, arcade, golf sims, axe throwing, who knows what else. It's such a huge black box space that I'm not sure a few posters are enough to make it Viking themed. Most games require additional payment, but bocce and a few others don't, which was a fun surprise. We went primarily to watch some of a big sporting event. They had it on all the tvs, and there are so many! There are some setup issues however. On the big wall, sets of several tvs are lined up as mega tvs, but in one case, the ratio isn't right so the picture is substantially stretched; in another, the alignment isn't right so it's distracting where the screens come together; on some of the standalone tvs, the contrast is really off, making some colors (and people) look weird. The beer was good, and the only food we had was a giant pretzel, it was better than average. The most surprising thing was getting a $10 draft of craft beer...and having it served in a disposable plastic cup. I'm not a glassware purist, but that doesn't make it seem impressive. read more

I appreciate the Norsemen theming, however, the margarita tasted like pineapple juice, oddly, and was disappointed they couldn't put on The Braves game. Went here for a friend's birthday party and our whole group was extremely disappointed. The second we arrived, we went to grab drinks at the bar to the immediate left, and we were scolded and herded like cattle immediately by the manager because we were told we needed to stay in the big gaming area. Felt like we were being watched and multiple times we were escorted away from just attempting to go get drinks from the bar. The fees are insane. It's around $32 for an hour of axe throwing but they automatically add a 20% gratuity for a large group so we each spent a little over $40. They only let us play for 30 mins tho because they were hell bent on closing at 11 when they literally don't close until midnight. Regardless, they still made us pay full price. The kicker is that the axe throwing set up is sad. 2 targets in a tiny back room and for a group of 15 we were only given 2 axes total. The funniest part to me was the dart game that was included. We were allowed as a group of 15, 1 target and a total of 3 darts. That was for our entire group. Mind you, the place was empty. We were quite literally the only people there. They gave us a table to keep all of our stuff and some of our group had ordered food. Some friends and I left our purses / belongings there while we played games nearby in the same room. Again the place was empty. The manager came over to us and asked that someone take ownership of the purses as it was "as bad as leaving bags unattended at the airport." I get safety concerns but in this scenario it was quite strange. He also thanked us several times for doing so. Weird. They rushed us out at 11:15 even though they stay open til midnight and half of us had just gotten our last round of drinks. We weren't being disruptive or crazy I think they just didn't want to do their jobs and run the place. To sum it up, don't go here. Way overpriced for mid service and limited games. read more

Skol Brewing was mediocre at best. We came in for dinner and our server was great but we had a negative experience with another. I ordered the turkey, ham, bacon club and requested no ham. When I got the club, it was very large and already fell apart before I had a chance to pick it up. There was no way I could eat it as a sandwich. After a couple bites, I realized there was no bacon. I notified a server (mine was busy) and the server didn't say anything at all, no apology and walked away. Zero communication, and a few minutes later I get two pieces of soft, part raw bacon on a tray. As if I'm expected to put bacon on a sandwich that has already fallen apart. I notify my server to let her know my bacon is raw and she goes back and brings two more slices that look cooked. My server was nice but the kitchen seemed to be a mess. The turkey was extremely dry and my sandwich was more of deconstructed turkey bread bowl. I don't think I'd come here for food again but my husband liked the beer. read more

We made a reservation because we knew Saturday night would be busy - and arrived a few minutes early. We were seated right away, and provided menus and the drink list...and then ignored for more than 30 minutes. We were in full view of waitstaff and even the bar (waitstaff walked past our table several times and the tables near us were served) but we no one even came by to take a drink order. After we got up to leave - and made it out the door - an employee ran over to ask us to "settle our bill" - thus proving we weren't invisible.... And to be clear, we had a 5pm reservation, and the restaurant/bar area wasn't very busy (we saw multiple servers, multiple bartenders, and not all of the tables were occupied). read more

Came on a Wednesday night. They seemed moderately full, but service was really spotty. They were out of about half the beers we were hoping to order. We only got a few food dishes, and they came out at different times. No cutlery or napkins. When we asked about getting napkins the server seemed surprised. He pretended to look for them and then went away. We got some from the bar. Beers and meads were decent, good variety, though a little IPA heavy. Solid meh. read more

I stopped in for a beer before dinner on a Sunday early evening. Apparently just missed the Minnesota Vikings fan club watching a game on TV. It was a large open dining room with a bar on one wall, lots of huge TVs, and Viking decor. In a separate room in the back there are axe-throwing lanes. Our table had a tiny lamp, without which it would have been kind of dark. The menu had a whole page of beers, several IPA versions, some German and Czech styles, and a sour. I had the sour, and it was great. Also on the menu some typical bar food like appetizers, sandwiches, and so on. Items leaned in to to Viking/Minnesota theme such as the Nordic smoked fish spread and the Juicy Lucy sandwich. Although I didn't have food on this visit I am interested in returning for that option. read more

After Researching Things to do near our hotel in ATL we had high hopes that Skol Brewing would be Hours of Good Drinks, Food and Games; Sorry to say it was a Disappointment. It started off with a Greeting from a less than Enthusiastic host who, after a Moment of Confusion, Brought us to a dirty table, as it was being Wiped Off another Server Walked up and Started a conversation with our host who both Disappeared without a word nor Menus left for us to stare out while we waited another 10 minutes for a different Server to Greet us, Who then promptly Abandoned us again leaving us to browse their Drink menus, 5 minutes later We get our first Item, Fresh Ice Tap Water. We gave our drink order then feeling rushed We ordered thinking that if we Took the time To Actually Read through their Interesting Menu that we would have to wait another 20 minutes before we see Our waitress again to get the food order. Our Drinks Came Out pretty Quickly, I guess the Cool new way to make $16 margaritas is to serve them in a Whiskey Tumbler and make them taste nothing like a Peachy Anything. The IPA i got was pretty tasty for a Flat Warm beer served in a Dirty glass. Then the food Was swiftly delivered without any eye contact or greetings from the Food runner. A few things We Didn't Have: Silverware, Napkins, Refills, Condiments or Quality prepared food. Pulled Pork and Brisket sandwiches were fatty and Dry (that's a hard one to pull off) and The Suprise Fresh Jalapeño peppers Would have been tolerable with A Refill of my Drink or A atleast Fork so I could have ate my coleslaw to relieve the pain from the 500,000 scovel heat units, or atleast a napkin to wipe my tears away without Getting BBQ Sauce in my eyes. Then they screwed up the simplest thing on the menu, fried chicken fingers, How do you Burn the outside while The inside is Raw and tough, the only way to accomplish that is by using Crappy Frozen breaded Chicken tenders Frying them in old dirty oil that was too hot so they burnt the breading before the chicken was Cooked. I would say The Fries were good if I there would have been Ketchup to dip them in. The bad part is We were more excited about their arcade and Games than the food, we were planning in Staying for a few hours After we ate throwing Axes and driving the Racing Simulator. We Had a Pocket Full of Money and Was on vacation looking for Great Experience, But we Walked Back to our hotel in the rain Instead of Having a Great Night throwing Axes Like Vikings. The Staff we dealt with had a Terrible Attitude and Ruined our Night, The Place Was not Fun, the people were not friendly, the Food and Drinks Were Mediocre and Over Priced. Thanks for Nothing. read more

We walked here on a Wednesday night after leaving a book launch event at the Central Library. Yes you can also do axe throwing at this location so make it a dinner and an axe throw type of night. We ordered the bacon double cheeseburger and it was good. It was seasoned well and the patties were cooked excellently. My only complaint is the bun coverage. I'm sure this is a style of burger; however, it looks like they're trying to save on meat or ran out and just used the little bit they had left because the meat patties did not fit with the size of the bun so there were some bites of the sandwich that were only bread and lettuce because the meat patties are so small. The Brussel sprouts were good but lack any healthy nutritional value so don't enjoy them for that, enjoy them because they're well seasoned Brussel sprouts. The fries were skinny and great like I like em so no complaints there. I'd go back to this restaurant, just wouldn't order a burger. read more

Came in last month for a team outing with my company! We're located up the street, so we walked, but saw a parking garage right across the street for those driving! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess and seated until the rest of our party joined and until another axe throwing bay opened up. Our waitress was very attentive to us and great about explaining everything and how the whole flow of the axe throwing worked. Plenty of tvs turned to various sports to watch and it was a good volume so we could make small talk as we sat down. Once we transitioned to our axe throwing bay, we had the pleasure of being instructed by the owner on different techniques and different games we could play. They even gave us white board and markers to keep score. During this whole time, our waitress didn't miss a beat in continuing our drink orders and getting us food! Food: we ordered fries, chicken tenders, the dip, and nachos for the table. Wouldn't recommend chicken tenders for a large group unless you get multiple servings. Food was decent, nothing to write home about! Drinks: I had espresso martinis, delicious. This was my first time axe throwing, so I was a bit apprehensive.. sharp objects.. throwing them? But it was honestly a whole lot of fun and didn't feel as dangerous as it looked! I really appreciated how personable the owner was in showing us the ropes and even giving us different objects to try throwing. Once I left, I texted all of my family and friends to encourage them on an axe throwing outing, lol. I'd 100% go back. Also, saw darts and a few other activities there as well! read more

This place is huuuuge! Not sure they are getting all of this space but it's enormous. There is a bar restaurant area near the front. They have a full arcade with tons of games, mostly the interactive type (think driving a car instead of Mortal Kombat). Then there is another equally large area with pool tables and axe throwing. The food was pretty good. I had the brisket chili and it was tasty enough. The beer selection was a little weak and pricey (I know I'm downtown), but it was a good stop overall. Service behind the bar was impeccable. I would go back. read more

Skol has only been open a few months but they are doing great work. We stopped in for dinner while downtown for a rock show. The space is huge, well staffed, and looks nice. We sat at the bar doing happy hour and OMG the happy hour specials are excellent. It was delicious food with great pricing. I started with the cheese curds. These were cooked as there are supposed to be in Wisconsin. Maybe could have used a little salt and I prefer marinara but to each his own. Chris had the Brussel sprouts and I was shocked at how good they were. Sometime you get them and they are kinda meh but not here! The fried pickles were good, and they are slices if you like those. The burger was very good, very meaty with plenty of veggie condiments to compliment the giant pile of delicious and crispy fries. We had a pitched of the brown ale which was maybe just a little too sweet but very good. Our bartender was very nice and helpful. Skol has finally opened in Downtown Atlanta! After teasing us with posters and IG stories for years, they finally opened in January 2025. My husband and I popped in for a beer while out for the night and were seated at the bar with an enthusiastic staff. The manager on duty walked us through what beers were actually on tap from their menu. They weren't fully operational because they had only opened in the last 2 weeks. I mentioned their cocktail looked delicious and they offered to make me it on the house. There was an uneven balance between bartenders and patrons, so they were happy to make a drink and chat for a few minutes. I can't remember the name of the drink, but it was gin-based with glitter and champagne. Boy, was it strong! My husband had to finish my beer while I sipped on that. Skol is attached to an axe-throwing spot next door, and has a large back room for parties and tons of board games. We will be bringing out monthly Saturday night drinking club here to test them out in the future. A great spot for a no-nonsense beer in downtown! read more

Great vibe, space, music and drinks including the beer I would definitely meet here after work or before a weekend outing. The fish fingers in the other hand were not so good. I believe the oil in the fryer was too hot. The breading which was a little thick was extra crispy on the outside but doughy on the inside and the fish not cooked. I sent it back and opted for the pulled pork sandwich. While the coleslaw was excellent the pork was salty. The manager Phil was pleasant. I sat at the bar, the last available seat. So the service was acceptable given that the bar was busy. I'd go back if in the neighborhood but only for drinks. Cheers read more
