AH-MAZ-ING! Such a warm local bar with great, friendly and efficient service. Their food is so good, and at reasonable prices for the area. For our 4-Days trip, we ate here for two days!! Trust me - their Lobster Bisque is a must get. Unlike many restaurants where "lobster bisque" is more like "lobster flavored heavy crème"... Steamhoise Lounge's Lobster Bisque is loaded with lobster meat and perfectly flavored soup, and not too salty. (Yes; saltiness is my pet peeve as many restaurants masks their flavorless food with loads of salt) The oysters in their raw bar are "fatty" with a hint of ocean saltiness. Their peel and eat shrimp is fresh and crunchy... oh so good!! And finally - I love their Fisherman's Stew.., again, the dish is perfectly seasoned with super fresh seafood. SO GOOD!!!! A must try spot for your visit to ATL.
This one is for the real seafood lovers! Atlanta offers a lot of fancy seafood restaurants with all the frills but Steamhouse reminds you of a real beachfront seafood restaurant. It's a super casual environment with a bar inside and they also have outdoor seating on the rooftop. I ordered their lobster bisque that they are supposedly known for and I definitely see why! I ordered the cup size but I should've gotten the bowl. When I say it was absolutely delicious! Omg. And it wasn't a cutesy lobster bisque with only one piece of lobster. It was very meaty and flavorful. Definitely a must try if you visit. I also ordered the cheese toast along with it to dip it in. For my entree, I ordered the crab legs. Loveddd! I had been craving crab legs that wasn't one of those overly seasoned boil bags that you get from other restaurants and these were perfect. Just fresh crab with butter on the side. Everything was perfect and delicious.
Nice little seafood hideaway downtown midtown was a nice surprise. The oyster sampler was my meal of choice. Of the three types of oysters served, the Danielle Oysters were my favorite. Crispy fried and topped with an aioli finish. All of the oysters were a nice size and satisfying. The chopped salad was big and full of chopped bacon, tomatoes and ranch dressing tossed in. This little Eatery and bar offers outdoor seating as well.
Came to Steamhouse Lounge for their Wednesday special. We were told to sit wherever we wanted, and there were plenty of tables available on the lower level, second floor, and outside. I walked here, so I can't speak on the parking situation, but it didn't look too busy outside (around 7 PM). Vibes inside were pretty nice and casual. FOOD: The Wednesday special is a great deal, where a dozen raw oysters are $15 and a half dozen char-grilled oysters are $10. Raw Oysters (4.5/5) - I have to preface by saying that I am not usually a fan of raw oysters; however, I thoroughly enjoyed the ones here. They were mild in flavor and tasted fresh. There are plenty of hot sauces available at the table to dress up your oysters. The platter of oysters also comes with horseradish and cocktail sauce. I must say I really enjoyed the oyster and horseradish combo. Char-Grilled Oysters (4/5) - Grilled with a garlic parmesan coating. It was nice, but I actually preferred the raw oysters! Not overcooked. Lobster Bisque (3.25/5) - Creamy and pleasant, but I don't think I could eat a lot of it. I'm glad I only got a cup of it to share. Claimed to be "Atlanta's BEST for 25 years," so I had to try. First experience eating a lobster bisque, but the chunks tasted more like imitation crab? Probably would skip if I returned here. SERVICE: Service was pleasant, but not super fast. Getting your order taken took a hot minute, but once that was out of the way, you got your food pretty fast. TLDR// I would come here every Wednesday if I lived in Atlanta because the oyster specials are such great deals. Can't speak on any other menu item, but you can't beat the price on Wednesdays.
Absolutely loved our experience here! We started with the cold crab dip, raw oysters, and oyster sampler, and everything was fresh and delicious. The fried catfish entree was excellent, and the drinks were just as good. The table next to us ordered the lobster bisque and raved about it, so that will definitely be on my list for next time. Pierre was incredibly sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. We sat outside, and the amazing breeze made it the perfect setting for a relaxed seafood meal. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. I'll definitely be back!
Early Sunday lunch. It was self seating so hesded up to the patio to see my favorite server Juan who thankfully was working. We started with a light cocktail and I had the lobster bisque which is a must try. Creamy and delicious with bits of lobster throughout. We then had the crabmeat melt after a short detour to an inside table as it was starting to drizzle. The sandwich was full of crab, gray cheese pull with a bunch of crispy fries. This is a great spot to people watch and get a nice meal. Portions are good and pricing reasonable. If Juan is working, sit in his section. He'll take great care of you!!
Sat at the bar and had a great experience. Casual atmosphere and the bartender was friendly and polite. The service was fast and the food was delicious. I had a cup of the lobster bisque, the crab stuffed shrimp, and some hushpuppies. Everything was good, but the shrimp were my favorite of the three. Decided to order a slice of chocolate cake to go. I was thinking I would eat some today and save some for tomorrow. It was so good I gobbled it all up. The fresh made whipped cream made that decision easier. (I did note the nachos that the person next to me ordered. Although I obviously can't tell you how they tasted, the serving size was huge. I would probably get that if I go back.)
Great service and casual ambiance. I had a shrimp basket, tried the fried oysters and hush puppies. Everything was great. I like that they season their batter so it's not bland. My son had a hotdog and he said it was delicious. 5/5
Went here for a quick dinner after drinks because food was needed. Sat at the bar and ordered the lobster bisque and lobster roll. First of all, as an Atlanta native, I am ashamed that I knew of this place but have never patronized it. The lobster bisque was divine! It actually had meat in it (which is rare, trust me) and the portion was just enough. The lobster roll was just okay. I probably needed to fix it up some more but it was good for the moment. Service was quick and friendly. Steamhouse is more like a dive bar so do not come here expecting fancy. But the food is delicious!
Stopped by got lunch. Parked across the street at the LAZ parking lot, street parking was completely full on a Sunday afternoon. I got a local beer, Sweetwater IPA. It was in a can, no draft ;( It was hoppy & light so it was just what I wanted! 7/10 I got a half dozen raw oysters. Came with the standard enhancements of lemon, saltines, cocktail sauce (with horseradish in the middle??) & some Tabasco for you on the side. The oysters were pretty mild in flavor, not too watery. There were some shell in about 3/6 oysters that made me hesitate each time I ate one, but overall nice in size & quality! 6/10 The cup of lobster bisque was really good! I saw on the menu that they're rated for being the best for about 20 years. There was a lot of lobster meat & the soup itself was really creamy. 8/10 The bartender was cool. A lot of regulars came in & he looped me into conversations with them. They were cool too. Pretty chill atmosphere. Apparently there's an upstairs? I didn't make it that far lol
I was out around in the city and I happy to be a couple minutes away and I wanted to check it out because it's been quite some time since I've been there. If you go you'll have plenty of seats and plenty of areas to sit because they have an upstairs and an outside as well as the inside. When you get there you have to worry about street parking so just keep that in mind. Or in a parking structure is also an option, but there isn't any free parking around so just keep that in mind. It'll come in and you'll see the bar and seats inside. It's a dive bar, kind of vibe, nothing shiny and new, but it gets the job done. There's plenty of TVs somewhere around so if you wanted to go ahead and watch a game you could definitely do it out as well. Any apple bar so you can just set the bar and drink if you didn't want to eat anything. But why would you come here if you didn't want to eat LOL? I had already had a couple of drinks so I actually only came for food and the food was okay. The bartender was really cool as she served the food at the bar top. We actually had a decent conversation, good customer service. Lobster bisque - The lobster bisque was really good. It had a lot of meat in it, they did not skimp on that at all. I only got a small cup but I probably could have knocked down a bowl of it easily. Very creamy and savory. Fries - The fries or french fries but they were good and they were very hot and crispy. Crab cake - The crab cake was okay. It It was breaded and crispy on the outside. And do you sit on the inside. It definitely had a little bit of flavor but nothing I would write all about. Instead of making it fluff up with crab meat, they kind of flattened it out and it look like a croquette kind of. Came with kind of a sweet chili sauce I assume, and coleslaw. Actually really, the lemon squeezed over. It was just fine. Grilled garlic Parmesan oysters - The oysters were pretty good. They weren't super large but they were pretty good in flavor though. If you want some dinner was some nice dive seafood vibes, this will be a pretty good spot to check out.

There's also a bar top if choose not to do a table or booth. A server greeted me pretty quickly after I sat myself and asked if I wanted anything to drink. I started with water while I was looking at the menu. I went on a Wednesday meaning they have a daily special that day of a dozen raw oysters for $15 and half a dozen grilled for $10. So I started with a dozen raw and got the appetizer of crab stuffed shrimp. It was AMAZING. The oysters were a good size and very meaty. Not skimpy at all. The shrimp were super good and came out steaming hot. I was split on getting a burger or Po boy. The server convinced me to do the burger instead saying they were really good and he wasn't wrong. I also got an IPA beer. My bill came out to $52. The biggest thing I didn't like is that they don't have beer on draft and I felt my server could've been a little more attentive. I also did street parking which worked just fine for me. I'll be back tho. There's more I want to try off this menu.
I was visiting a friend and we decided to go across the street to grab something to eat. Service: no wait time, and the service was great. Our server was kind and attentive. Ambience/Crowd: family friendly casual place to eat. Food/drink : 5/10 the food was ok, could've used more seasoning and I wish the lobster in the bisque was not imitation Will I be back? Yes I would, they have a wide variety of food.

Took my mother to our favorite, The Steamhouse Lounge, for her birthday today. As always, the food was outstanding - we had the crab dip, a dozen oysters, a fried oyster po' boy and the mom's favorite, their massive crab cake. Topped it off with a beer and the mom had a really nicely made (read: strong) cosmo. DeAndré was our host/server. This is a young guy with an incredible personality and attentiveness - hope to see him again next time. This place never disappoints. read more
Last night we visited Steamhouse Lounge located downtown Atlanta. We watched a YouTube video that featured this spot and thought we'd patronize it the next time we're in the ATL. From the outside some might classify Steamhouse as a dive based on physical appearance. However, the staff were welcoming and friendly and once inside the vibe was very positive. The menu is seafood centric with some other options tossed in for good measure. We started our dinner with Sauvignon Blanc and an Old Fashioned as our libation. We followed that with a couple orders of the roasted oyster sample (which included two each of the Oyster Rockefeller, Oyster Danielle, and Oyster Garlic Parmesan) and a half dozen raw oysters. Folks the oysters were hitting, fresh and delicious! We could have made a meal out of a couple dozen of the appetizers alone!! For entrees, we chose the Crab Stuffed Grouper which included snow crab meat and three cheese stuffings over jalapeno cheese grits & steamed broccoli garnish, and the Fisherman's Stew with shrimp, mussels, grouper and calamari steamed in a classic tomato broth served with rice. Both dishes were good and very filling. Our sever Aaryn was attentive and welcoming, and since we were celebrating a birthday comped one of our Key Lime Pie desserts. The dessert included key lime pie with a whipped cream topping,b simply delicious! All in all a very good experience we will definitely mark it down as a spot to visit again. read more

We stopped by Steamhouse Lounge and tried the lobster roll and the Cajun pasta with blackened salmon. The lobster roll had big chunks of lobster and was the highlight of the meal. The bisque on the side was creamy with a generous amount of lobster. The pasta was creamy with a nice Cajun flavor that paired well with the blackened salmon. The vibe is laid back and casual, and they have valet parking which was super convenient. The service was friendly and the food came out fast and hot. read more

My husband wanted oysters for his birthday and what better than Steamhouse! He got the bucket of steamed clams and our very kind waiter helped him shuck many of them (it was harder than it looked). We also had a bowl (don't even bother with a cup) of their amazing lobster bisque and I had the lobster roll, all delicious! read more
Crab cake melt with fries. Recommended to us by our waiter. Super good! Fries were 10/10, crispy and salty and just perfect. Super casual ambiance, we sat upstairs during lunch time (12n) on a Monday for a work lunch and there wasn't too many people. Parking is valet and its tips appreciated but there's also a parking garage nearby. read more
Lunch today entailed oysters, so we found this delightful spot. The service was super excellent and the food was hot, fresh and no long waiting. The drinks were fine as well. The ambiance was very casual but very comfortable and relaxing. We truly enjoyed this experience and this spot lived up to their reputation. read more
Came here twice: once for dinner and once for late lunch, and had a great experience both times. The first night I got the ATL fish and grits which was amazing! I chose blackened but fried and grilled were also options. I loved the grits so much that when I came back the next day, I ordered them as a side with my crab cake. The crab cake came with slaw, lemon and a thick chili dipping sauce. The crab cake on its own was delicious, but I also added some old bay on top which was available on the table in a shaker. This quickly became my favorite place to eat while visiting, and I'd love to come here again one day! read more

I come here at least once a week. I love the oysters, my favorite is tied between the garlic Parmesan (deliciously smokey) and the Rockefeller (cheesy, creamy, what is there not to love). The chicken tacos and philly cheese steak are also delicious! Service is pretty quick, so no complaints there either. The ambiance is perfect for catching up with friends or a casual date night. It's slightly loud but in a comfortable way. But I'm here to rant about these oysters! Overall, I give them a 9/10, they could have been a 10 but, to be honest, the oysters sometimes have a piece of shell in them so chew carefully. read more

This was a solo, work-week lunch visit & worth the walk about a block or two from office. It wasn't full but respectably busy. Service was fast & friendly & I was quickly seated with no wait. Its decor is fitting for the nautical steamhouse vibe. Nothing fancy & it's been around the sun a few times but holding up well. I got the fish & chips - which interestingly includes a $2 upcharge for charity. I was feeling generous & wanted to try the fish & was satisfied. Next time I'll likely try a shrimp basket or other & a work colleague swears by the shrimp & grits as some of the best he's ever had. A little pricey for a weekly visit but will try to splurge 4 or 5 times a year. read more
I came here on a Wednesday for their oyster special and it was packed ! They have bar seating where you can sit if you don't feel Like waiting for a table.. $15 for a dozen oysters on Wednesdays and they are good ! They also have 6 chargrilled oysters for $10 on Wednesdays. Service and drinks were good! Aside from the oysters the food was good and well seasoned. I had the catfish and it was fried to perfection. My friend had the lobster roll and said it was good. I like them better than Fontaines because their food is more seasoned. Would definitely be back ! read more

Service was a ten! Food was surprisingly great. And ambiance was perfect. We sat on the roof top and had a time. So crazy how I passed by this spot everyday for 3 years and never stopped. Probably one of the freshest seafood restaurants you'll find in Atlanta! I really enjoyed Steamhouse Lounge for their ambiance and food. I got the Lobster Roll with a side of Lobster Bisque and I truly enjoyed it. My favorite was definitely the Bisque! It was sooooo delicious with fresh chucks of lobster in it! As stated, it's fresh and flavorful. I do wish the portion size was a little bigger; so, if you're hungry, I recommend getting this dish with a side of fries or a heart appetizer! Because it's in the middle of Midtown, parking is limited. I went on a weekday at around 3pm and was able to find street parking, however, I can't imagine how it is on a weekend or during a dinner rush. I did see a parking lot next door that you'll have to pay for (I believe it was about $10) As far as service, it was pretty solid! Our waitress was helpful and attentive. I was really in the mood for a lobster roll and that's bet hard to find in Atlanta, so I was interested that one of my go to places, Steamhouse Lounge, actually offered it. I oysters, the lobster roll and bisque. I'd had the oysters and lobster bisque before and knew that were awesome (they were). I was slightly disappointed in the lobster roll. Literally just the lobster and the roll, nothing else. It was dry, bland and needed a mayo or remoulade or something. I was happy with the amount of lobster though. read more

Is the restaurant Pet friendly?
I believe the lower level outdoor patio is pet friendly but the last 2 times I've gone the patio has been closed. There's an outdoor deck area upstairs. I don't believe it's pet friendly because you have to enter the restaurant to access that area.
Are we able to dine in? Or is it take out only?
You can currently dine in here, and they offer outdoor seating as well!

Not three but...Lobster bisque is to die for. 100% get that. You will not regret it
