I've had this restaurant on my list to visit for a long time and have heard many mixed reviews so I had to check it out myself. My fiance and I decided to visit on a beautiful Thursday. The first thing I appreciated was the free parking options right next to the building. We wanted to eat on the patio, so we followed the signage to where we placed our order. Since we went during their Thursday drink specials, we ordered one of each ($2 beer, $3 shot, and $6 margarita). Since I did research before arriving, I decided to order the blackened grouper sandwich since there were many reviews raving about it, while my fiance ordered the nashville hot fish sandwich. After about a 15 minute wait our food arrived. I absolutely loved the grouper sandwich and the wedge fries that it came with. The blackened seasoning was flavorful without overpowering the fish and the fries were crispy and generously seasoned. After eating, we stayed for a little while longer to watch people walk the beltline right next to the building, take pictures of the aesthetic colors of the restaurant, and plan our next stop of the day. I would love to come back with a group of friends since there are plenty of benches and seating available outside and to try other menu items while enjoying the day outside. read more

I must say, from the food to the energy, what Breaker Breaker offers is one of the best vibes on the BeltLine. The staff are friendly for the most part, but I will say when it gets busier, their moods can sometimes come across a little short or annoyed, which I've experienced on a few Saturday visits. The food is consistently a 10 out of 10 aside from the fish. I don't know what it is, but it's just not as flavorful as the shrimp and some of the other items on the menu. I'd personally rate the fried fish about a 6 out of 10. The crowd and overall atmosphere are always great, and it's definitely a kid-friendly environment as well. I had been wanting to check out breaker breaker for a while and finally got a chance to check them out. Such a cool spot located on the beltline. I ordered the blackened grouper sandwich and a fish taco my girl ordered the fried shrimp plate. Everything was amazing. I know there hype around another popular restaurants blackened grouper sandwich (iykyk) but the one at breaker breaker is the best I've had in Atlanta. This was my first time back in years and my first time trying their food. I was seriously craving a sandwich and man, this place delivered. I ended up getting the chopped mushroom sandwich. It was warm and gooey from the cheese, yet kind of healthy with the mushrooms, onions, lettuce and onions. The bread was also nice and crispy. Their ordering system sucks. You can watch the line get longer in front of you when 6 people walk up and see their "friend" already in line. So now you're waiting for an extra 6 people to order. Happened twice in one wait. 10 minutes can turn into 20-25 minutes wait quickly. If you go in and sit down, forget about it. Enjoyed my first visit to Breaker Breaker. Great vibes and good food! Decided to check it out on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. (We did go around 6). We sat outside on the lower patio. The set up is pretty cool. The patio you walk up to order and the inside you are served. The upstairs (Florida man) is more of a bar feel. (I got Miami cool kids vibe up there). But Plenty of seating everywhere. We ordered the peel and eat shrimp and the blackened grouper Sammy. Really enjoyed the shrimp. The cocktail sauce was delightful. Loved the grouper sandwich. The slaw definitely goes well on the sandwich. The only negative feedback I had was their flys and mosquitos everywhere. Probably not their responsibility but it's definitely coming from the natural area between the restaurant and the belt like. And doesn't help that the trash was pretty full. So glad I came here! Loved the vibe--I really felt like I was on the beach lol. Breaker Breaker is located near the Renoldsytown side of the belt-line. Youll have to find a residential/street parking space. When you walk up, the bar/window is for drinks only, but if you walk further down, there's a separate window to order food. I ordered the grouper sandwich, fries, and the seasonal boozy slushy, which was lime, ginger, and cherry (I think). Cashier was nice and even let me sample the slushy before buying! The food was good! Fries were different but well seasoned and hot. Grouper was a good size too. There were fans rotating from the side of the building, so there was a nice breeze. Breaker Breaker has a fan out of me. Decided to try for lunch as Hubby and I were craving seafood. Breaker Breaker is located off of the Eastside beltline (NOT the Ponce City Market area) in a residential area so parking is very limited. We were able to locate a street spot. Once you arrive you have the option to be served inside or order at the window for patio seating where food will be brought out to you. I ordered the fried fish tacos with the seasonal boozy slushy and my Husband had the boiled peanuts with the Fried Fish Captain's platter. There's a water station to serve yourself, wish it was ice water since we sat on the patio. Patio seating gives you the option to sit away from dogs or with your dog/amongst dogs. Love that each outdoor section on the patio had an overhead fan. Breaker Breaker also had great tunes playing with a friendly staff. I'm obsessed with the boozy slushy, great flavor and so refreshing. My Husband enjoyed the boiled peanuts but wished the cayenne pepper was tossed throughout the peanuts. I got to try some of his fried fish that was seasoned and breaded very well. It was paired with hand cut chips that still had a slight French fry thickness and texture to them & were also seasoned very well. Very cute neighborhood spot with great vibes, it's dog friendly, super spacious and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. I've also seen people here come and work on their laptops, which is pretty cool. Especially if you're meeting someone there after work and don't want to deal with rush hour traffic, arriving earlier in the day, finishing work from there doesn't sound like a bad plan. Good gets ordered in the window on the street side which sometimes has pretty long lines especially on weekends but it does move quickly. The food is not bad but also nothing to rave about. However, I did notice someone breaking the rule, so I'm not sure how strictly this policy is enforced! There are also two sections for food and bar service. If you're ordering food and prefer the patio option, you'll need to order at the counter and then grab a seat on the patio. Who would have thought we could get delicious, fresh-tasting seafood in Atlanta right outside Cabbagetown, but here we are! Stopped by and ordered a Cup of Gumbo, Charbroiled Oysters, Blackened Grouper Sandwich, and a Gulf Fish Fried Platter to eat. For cocktails we had the Vaya Con Dios and the Billy Big Rigger. Every single dish was delicious and perfectly executed; I personally love the way this place cuts their fries! Came here for a few happy hour drinks on my recent trip to Atlanta and enjoyed my time here. To quote the great Guy Fieri, it's a funky little joint, eclectically decorated, with mostly outdoor tables. I wish we'd eaten here, because their food menu looked bomb, seafood forward with lots of inventive options. Service was quick and friendly. The cocktail menu was a nice mix of the standards plus more interesting options that were fun to try. I ended up getting a drink that had candy on top of it which made me feel like a big kid again. If you're coming here with a stroller or dog, there's ample space and the place seems to cater to that kind of crowd, there's even a kids menu that has shrimp and fish on it which is nice to see, not just your standard chicken finger combo. read more

I love everything about Breaker Breaker except the long food lines! This place is an Atlanta staple and easily draws a good crowd on warm days! All of the seating is outdoors and the shading isn't the best at times. You will definitely get your daily dose of vitamin D! The food is always consistent, hot, fresh and delicious. The location is 10/10, right on the beltline in between Krog Street Tunnel & Reynoldstown. Food: Solid! I love that there are options for literally everyone. They were acting like they didn't want to stay a minute after 10:05, so the experience did feel slightly uncomfortable and rushed, but they were nice. I tried one hushed puppy... the texture was different, but still tasty. The salad was just okay. Everything was pretty much the same texture, so it wasn't very exciting to eat. This is a neat restaurant that looks like a shipping container. There is limited free street parking available. It is conveniently located just off of the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail. The restaurant is two levels. They have an inside dining area with an adequate amount of seating and a full bar with seating. The upper deck, which was closed off while I was there, is an open air patio deck. I heard that it was nice and wish that I was able to check it out. Additionally, there is patio seating outside of the restaurant for diners to eat at as well. The staff there is very friendly. They serve fish, crab cakes, shrimp, gumbo, oysters, salads, poboys and sandwiches. I ordered the charbroiled oysters with a side of fries. My food was prepared fast and was fresh. It only took them about 5 minutes to have my food in front of me. The oysters and the fries were delicious. I also recommend that you try their fresh squeezed lemonade. The food was hot and very flavorful. This is a nice spot that I can only imagine is booming at night. They have a full bar with some nice signature cocktails. I don't love writing this one especially after Florida Man was so great but we just didn't have a good experience here. Moved downstairs from Florida Man for food. The fans blowing both upstairs and down are a huge plus and really did a lot to cool the outdoor spaces down and made it comfortable. This was my first time at both, and I have to say I was way more impressed with Florida Man than Breaker Breaker. Between the 4 of us we ordered a few beers and drinks, and 4 meals. The vibe is loud and sort of trendy. It's off the beltline so the same volumes as everything else off the beltline. The seating was mostly communal. We ended up at a high top which is fine but the table itself was really narrow and the barstools were small. No bag hooks so if you happen to have a purse it's going to have to sit in your lap. Also just a note, while the fans were going by dusk and after dark the bugs got bad. Lots of gnats and moths. We were outside and didn't go inside at all but the spaces all seemed open so I imagine inside wouldn't be much better. Our group ordered two of the same cocktail, the "Amity Island" which is supposed to come with a gummy shark...Neither of them did. I had a taste of the first one and it was really good, and kind of aesthetic (white frothy with a bright red bottom) so she ordered a second one hoping for the shark (didn't happen) and the second one was much stronger and looked like a different drink (less red, less froth, much more clear than white). She said it tasted like it clearly had way more vodka. Between our table we ordered two orders of chicken tenders (which were really big, my husband couldn't finish his and we decided if we came back we would just split that!) My friend ordered a a kids grilled cheese, and I ordered the friend chicken sandwich. My husband ordered so we keep the table and I asked him to see about adding cheese and holding the "spicy" sauce-I have a stomach condition and basically can't eat anything spicy anymore without getting sick for days. When he came back he said that they held the spicy after a bit of a fight but said they couldn't add cheese "because we don't have cheese" LOL okay so what are you making the grilled cheese with? Like if you don't want to accommodate a small change order just say that and don't lie?...at the very least come up with something better... the sandwiches was fine. It would have been better with some cheese honestly but... oh well. It is VERRY messy. My hands were covered in sauce, and by the end the bun was soaked through and falling apart in a not so appetizing way. I only ate about half of it before I was too full and also a little bit grossed out. They did seem to hold the spicy sauce for me though so I appreciated that. My husband's order though didn't come until most of us were done and only came when he went back up to say he didn't get it. We're pretty sure he got someone else's order because they handed it to him immediately and it was piping hot...Sorry to whoever also ended up getting their order late. So between the inconsistent drinks (missing the fun decorative elements) and messy sandwich that I couldn't get a measly slice of cheese added to because LOL this restaurant "doesn't have cheese" and them forgetting about my husband's meal I don't think we'd come back here unless it was a group decision. And even then we would either skip food or split something. It's a shame because we really enjoyed the rooftop bar (Florida Man) but these two experiences seem worlds apart.v read more

The bar was wide open. There was brunch and there was a good menu. I decided that I would try the Roasted Chicken Club with home fries. They did not disappoint. The food was hot and deliciou. I've always loved home fries with seasonin! the sandwich was toasted bread with mayo, lettuce, tomato, crispy bacon and thinly sliced chicken. Absolutely hands down a great meal. Let's start with the food: The "Krab"less Krab Cakes (vegan) were so bad I couldn't get past the first bite -- I literally gagged. I ordered the grouper sandwich, and the seasoning was so overwhelming it drowned out any potential flavor from the fish. One bite was enough. My partner ordered the Chef's Platter (I think that's what it was called?) and didn't even finish his meal -- and he never leaves food behind. To make things worse, the ambiance was frustrating. I understand it's partially outdoors, but there were flies everywhere. I've been to beachside restaurants and open-air patios all over Atlanta and never experienced this level of discomfort. Service? Also disappointing. Our server barely checked in, and the energy felt apathetic at best. And I have to mention -- refills on tea cost $1. That's just petty. Hushpuppies probably the highlight, mostly bc the outsides were perfectly crispy. Grouper sandwich inexplicably wet with borderline raw fish and strangely aggressive relish. Fries ok, cabbage/rice salad fine. Best things about this place are the downstairs patio (whose fans are more effective than the ones upstairs) and the plentiful and clean bathrooms. So this spot got on my radar because it has oysters. I'm a big fan of Char-Broil oysters, so I had to at least give it a try. Nothing will be like oysters from New Orleans but I want to at least give it a fair attempt that I found something else that was decent. One of the nights that I went it had a trivia night so that was pretty cool. They were really engaging and the person who was doing a tribute walked all the way around the inside of the restaurant to talk to people to make sure that they were very interactive. And I thought that was pretty cool. Speaking of walking, the bathroom is you walking outside and around the other side of the building. So if you want to go on an inside bathroom, this is not the place lol! This is not a big deal. They have heat lamps all the way through your walk to the bathroom! Maybe it's just because the building is shaped funny or differently that you can't have it in there, not a big deal at all. This spot is kind of tucked away but once you know it's there you can't unsee it! It has indoor and outdoor seating. There's probably more outdoor than indoor. If it's cold outside they have plenty of heat lamps. And a fire pit to boot! Inside it gives diner vibes, if a diner was themed with nautical decorations. But it's cool. They actually have an upstairs but the times that I went the upstairs wasn't open. The last time I went I think they had an event going on so I wasn't able to catch anything upstairs but one day I'll get there. The spot is right next to the belt line so you can actually walk to it and from it. It's in the middle of a neighborhood so the neighborhood itself probably could use this as a neighborhood bar or restaurant to go to. I would if I lived over there! Near the beltline and not too far from krog Street market, this place is pretty clutch. Now the menu does have oysters and a lot of seafood, but it has a lot of different and weird combination that look amazing. They have a lot of vegetarian options if you're into that as well. For example they have calamari but the fry calamari is actually mushrooms. Or they have crab cakes but the crab cakes isn't actually crab but that just means that they have options for everybody. I went just for the oyster though but I want to go back more to try some things on the menu. Everything was pretty decently priced, plenty of things to try! The Oysters I had were okay. They were not something that I would rush to get every single time, but they were pretty decent. But after looking at the menu the oysters were not the star of the show to me anymore. They came with butter and cheese. Which oysters are supposed to. They didn't actually have any type of garlic tasted them so you majority tasted the oyster itself and the cheese so that was different, but again, not the end of the world. I would still eat them again if somebody ordered them, no problem. This place is on my list of places to go to invest in the menu so I will definitely be doing that this year sometime. read more

Food is great hut the worker at the outdoor bar with the beard and the cartilage ear piercing was not kind or hospitable at all. He was very unwelcoming and we questioned him afterwards and his response - non apologetic and apathetic . This is my 2nd encounter with him, maybe it's a race thing, we asked if it was just his personality and he said you asked for something we didn't have and I answered. Just that matter of fact. We ordered the cup of gumbo, key lime pie cup, shrimp po boy, and fried shrimp platter The shrimp po boy was delicious, the bread was toasted and seasoned, good amount of shrimp and toppings, could use a little more sauce but overall delicious. Shrimp platter was super tasty, had tartar and cocktail sauce, came with fries that were seasoned well, both dishes came with slaw! The slaw was good and had a unique flavor. Gumbo cup was really flavorful and meaty. The key lime pie cup was AWESOME. Super creamy and just the right amount of tart. We really enjoyed this stop overall, the service was fast once we ordered. Breaker Breaker is a neat restaurant on the beltline. It has an upstairs patio that does have a some what different menu. We went on a Sunday and they had a brunch menu so we decided to stay downstairs on the inside. It is a small area, but plenty of seats. We loved the environment, it had an open window environment and an open bar. There were lots of people walking up to the open bar. It's was a little quiet since it was a little rainy that day and it was early. I bet it would be very busy on a beautiful day but they have lots of space. My house margarita was only five dollars since it was Sunday and it was so yummy. My hubby had an old-fashioned that had banana chips and it was pretty good. We absolutely loved the smoked fish dip and the hush puppies with this honey butter that was to die for. My grouper sandwich and slaw was delicious, but my husband's shrimp burger and fries were out of this world. Will definitely be going back soon to have a drink in the open bar and share an app. There were several servers and bar tenders that were very helpful especially when we asked questions. Fours stars for creativity of restaurant. Looks like a shipping container. This restaurant is literally on the Beltline. Plenty of outside seating, great customer service. Food is pretty average, standard American, nothing special. Street Parking can be pretty tight. Recommend carpooling. read more

Food is piping hot and delicious, frozen drinks are wonderful, and there's always plenty of seats. My partner and I can share the Captain's Platter and a salad which makes us sufficiently full. You have to fill your own water which is usually fine but unfortunately there is no ice unless you flag someone down. Sometimes not all fans are working/on, it can be tough with flies depending time of year and where you sit. Service is fast and friendly, and I love the food so the good outweighs the little inconveniences. read more

Tried Breaker Breaker for lunch with my co workers. I will say this is a beautiful place to go to if you're trying to have an outdoor lunch on a day with great weather! This lies on the Southeast end of the belt line. I would say the food is pretty decent! I really enjoyed the fries and shrimp. The fries had a great level of seasoning and perfect crispy to it. It was also a large quantity of food that is fulfilling. The Chicken Sandwich only had a good flavor because of the bacon and fresh lettuce. The Salsa Verde was a unique twist to a grilled chicken sandwich. I would not recommend the hushpuppies. Although not photographed, I tried my friend's hushpuppies and they were not very tasty. I usually not a coleslaw person, but I will say, there is pretty good. It does have a spicy kick to it which I loved! Parking is very limited as it in a narrow street and I did not locate a parking lot or structure near by. The street does have a number of houses across the way so that also made the parking a little more complicated. There is plenty of seating outside and an area where you can bring your furry friend! read more
