    Everyone having fun.

Okay, I was a little tipsy when I arrived a the Northside Tavern. I was also meeting friends from out of town after flying into Atlanta for a wedding of a mutual friend. All of that might have tempered my reaction, but I had a blast at the Northside Tavern. The drinks tasted strong, the band was cooking, and the crowd was dancing. Cherishing its divey, beat up effect, the Northside Tavern is an Atlanta icon. Better yet, I was able to walk to my Airbnb.

Another Great Dive I wish I remembered the name of nice old gentleman behind the bar. He is in the picture I posted. This is old dove bar that only serves drinks. The bartender was so friendly to us and had a shot with us. Prices are very fair and they always have live music. If you like dive bars, this is definitely one for you. Thanks

I'm a very clumsy girl and I rolled my ankle. Luckily the bartender, Rob, provided me with a trash bag of ice to help reduce the swelling. Unmatched service. Thanks Rob!! The drinks and music aren't bad either.

Dive bar of dive bars, they had a bouncer but I guess they're either not checking IDs because it's still daylight or because I don't look under 21. We'll go with the former. We went through a few dollars on the arcade machine, losing to Dig Dug and Burger Maker while sipping at the worst Red Stripe I have ever consumed. I'm not one to waste beer, but half of this was left behind. They're slinging beers and playing pool here. And the strangest thing, moving two of the gals were moving the vending machine from one side of the place to the other. What? [Review 19551 overall - 605 in Georgia - 521 of 2023.]

I was refused water, not a drink . I've never experienced rude behavior like such. He said it was last call. I responded I'm not asking for a drink just water. He said no then gave a white female an entire pitcher of water after she told him that was weird. She poured me a glass, and he threw it away like I was trash. I called today to try to get some kind of apology or even common ground. I think it was the same man. He told me to post it....he didn't care.... So here we are! Boycott racist bartenders! Oh and I have the woman's number who was equally disgusted and she will verify what I said!

An institution! Do not visit if you are offended by a good old fashioned neighborhood joint. Some of the best live music.

Great dive bar, with cheap beer, pool tables and most importantly the band, Mudcat, plays regularly.

For our 4-Days trip, we ate here for two days!! Trust me - their Lobster Bisque is a must get. Unlike many restaurants where "lobster bisque" is more like "lobster flavored heavy crème"... Steamhoise Lounge's Lobster Bisque is loaded with lobster meat and perfectly flavored soup, and not too salty. (Yes; saltiness is my pet peeve as many restaurants masks their flavorless food with loads of salt) The oysters in their raw bar are "fatty" with a hint of ocean saltiness. Their peel and eat shrimp is fresh and crunchy... oh so good!! And finally - I love their Fisherman's Stew.., again, the dish is perfectly seasoned with super fresh seafood. SO GOOD!!!! A must try spot for your visit to ATL.

I walked here, so I can't speak on the parking situation, but it didn't look too busy outside (around 7 PM). Vibes inside were pretty nice and casual. FOOD: The Wednesday special is a great deal, where a dozen raw oysters are $15 and a half dozen char-grilled oysters are $10. Raw Oysters (4.5/5) - I have to preface by saying that I am not usually a fan of raw oysters; however, I thoroughly enjoyed the ones here. They were mild in flavor and tasted fresh. There are plenty of hot sauces available at the table to dress up your oysters. The platter of oysters also comes with horseradish and cocktail sauce. I must say I really enjoyed the oyster and horseradish combo. Char-Grilled Oysters (4/5) - Grilled with a garlic parmesan coating. It was nice, but I actually preferred the raw oysters! Not overcooked. Lobster Bisque (3.25/5) - Creamy and pleasant, but I don't think I could eat a lot of it. I'm glad I only got a cup of it to share. Claimed to be "Atlanta's BEST for 25 years," so I had to try. First experience eating a lobster bisque, but the chunks tasted more like imitation crab? Probably would skip if I returned here. SERVICE: Service was pleasant, but not super fast. Getting your order taken took a hot minute, but once that was out of the way, you got your food pretty fast. TLDR// I would come here every Wednesday if I lived in Atlanta because the oyster specials are such great deals. Can't speak on any other menu item, but you can't beat the price on Wednesdays.

Ordered 10 wings: half buffalo-lemon pepper/half lemon pepper, 5 wings in Korean-buffalo with a side of chili cheese fries, and 2 Coors Banquets (cuz we're classy like that. Food came out probably 15 min after and I was ready to dig in. These wings were pretty hyped and with anything popular, I'm always worried I'm going to be disappointed. But OMG these wings are worthy of their hype. The flavor of their sauces is incredible and they hit that desired balance of crispy and juicy. The meat falls off the bone. Tell you what, I'll definitely be back. I've also heard great things about their karaoke nights so that's going on my list as well

The wings were all well seasoned, and even the dry rub wings didn't taste dry. It tasted tender and juicy and I've never experienced that before with dry rub wings. We ordered the lemon pepper buffalo wings, buffalo wings, and Korean bbq buffalo wings and a side of fries. Our favorite was the buffalo wings. It had the right balance of juiciness and flavor. I wouldn't recommend the Korean bbq wings since it didn't have enough tangyness to it and didn't stand out. The French fries are a must order. The fries were so crunchy, and they were still crunchy even towards the end when we were almost finished eating. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened on a Friday and there were already people waiting in the lot which was crazy! It started raining while we were waiting in line and the line got even longer. If you're planning to try The Local, I would recommend coming on a regular weekday or come earlier if you're coming on the weekend because the line is crazy. There is some seating inside and outside the bar. We got there early enough to swipe a table. There were people standing and waiting for a table while waiting for their orders. Service was excellent! Tables are first come first serve. Plenty of parking in the back parking lot. I wouldn't wait in the rain for this but it was definitely worth a try!

We had a private party for 20 and reserved the "Tight Squeeze"…read moresection which was behind a very nondescript door (like a speakeasy??) and right next to the bar, with a big center table where most of stood around, and then comfy sofas and chairs on the periphery. Since the other side of the bar was pretty much almost outside with a deck, they had heated lamps throughout. To order food or drinks, we went to the bartender - there is no server walking around to take orders. All of us kept an open tab - and they do automatically charge 20% tip. Our bartender was really good and super nice! And they have Happy Hours specials 4:30-7pm - even Sat/Sun ... so I took advantage of that! MELON BALL - $9 I'd never had a melon ball before and it was really yummy :) DOS CONFIT DUCK TACOS - $10 Two corn tortilla tacos w/ duck confit (birria style), NY sharp cheddar (actually I don't remember having cheese in mine), and mango chutney ... good option if you're looking for a lite bite. I enjoyed mine! LEMON PEPPER FRITES - $6 House-cut fries w/ lemon pepper dusting. The tacos weren't enough, lol - plus the fries were a good portion for sharing. I wish they sprinkled more lemon pepper but it was fine. Next time I'd like to try their Big Mac sliders - those looked really good! The shrimp po' boys looked good too! Looking at the regular menu, the food prices are very reasonable. Overall great spot for groups! They are located at Colony Square - although I knew the restaurant location, I did get disoriented after coming from the parking garage and trying to figure out where was 14th Street but a lovely policeman walked me there. Remember to bring your parking ticket and then ask the hostess to validate your ticket when you leave the restaurant - supposedly it's free up to 2 hours but I stayed there for over 6 hours and didn't have to pay for parking, yay!

As the night went on, we ordered more drinks and our server also ordered more drinks for himself (which we could see him drinking). He was incredibly rude and at times would just disappear. Mind you we were one of the only groups in the restaurant... all other tables had 'reserved' signs on them. For who? I'm not sure. He was obviously very annoyed to have to serve us and made rude comments to a few people in our group. For the food - the served actually told us 'you didn't order that' when we reminded him or 2 items that were forgot. They came out about 15 mins later. From the outside, you wouldn't be able to tell how large this place truly is. That's 3 levels: main floor with bar and high counter seating. Level two was more lounge, booth, and bar seating. Level three had lounge and a back area bar seating. We were told the lounge seats were by reservation only so we headed back to the main floor and grab an open table. Each floor had its own vibe and dedicated playlist/dj. The service was super slow to start. The same folks that were working the bar were also waiting the tables, so it took about 15 minutes to even be acknowledged and get waters and a menu. Hookah was through a separate vendor and was $60. We order the wings and fried shrimp. Both came with fries and were really good, tasted fresh, and seasoned well. The cocktails were strong, though my lemon drop arrived lukewarm so I and to transfer ice from my water to cool it down. Late night menu range from $17-19, cocktails were $15-20. Overall, I'm lowering stars bc of slow and spotty service. I'd probably be back to try other things on the menu, but I'll definitely be sitting at the bar.
