Center Bar is transformed into the holiday Jingle Bar!! Craft holiday cocktails!!
    Philip M.

My brother and I came here for the Christmas pop up bar. A portion of the standard bar area has been decorated specifically with fun Christmas decorations. It also features unique holiday themed cocktails plus light bites of Latin food from the Tropical kiosk vendor in the food hall. The bartenders were fun and friendly. The cocktails were delicious but expensive. The food was excellent and we loved hanging out and chatting with folks in the bar area. Reservations are necessary to enter this special bar area and we made the reservation for free in advance utilizing the QR code inside the food hall. We recommend this holiday pop up bar!!

Located literally, as the name suggests, in the middle of Chattahoochee Food Works plaza, the Center Bar is a great spot for a drink allowing one to either to sit at the bar or take outside to enjoy. The great thing is there are beers on tap and a good variety. Interestingly, the variety here is actually better than at Dr. Scofflaw's (which is specifically limited to IPAs and similar). Just like the rest of this new plaza, the prices are a bit up there given the size of the beer. But, who wouldn't pay extra to drink in an old warehouse? I can poke fun all day long, but it's a neat transformation of a place. Center bar is not cozy, but it's convenient and it's a really great place to observe the crowds coming through this food court. Think of it as sitting on the Spanish Steps in Rome or on Fifth Avenue in NYC. This is the miniature version of this experience within a food court of Atlanta's Westside. Service was solid, Apple Pay accepted, beer poured perfectly. What else needs to be said?

The bartender "KEN" deserves a raise. Customer service is A1!! Today was my first visit and I didn't know what to order. As I was browsing the menu, Ken approached and answered all my questions. After I sampled the selections, I determined that the Blueberry Margarita was the best drink on the menu I and the Painkiller was #2. I appreciate a spot where the bartender is friendly, the conversation is flowing and I feel right at home. Definitely check this bar out and ask for Ken!!

The service was the bomb and the food was very delicious. We ordered for the group three different types of mussels and a fried ball of beef (can't remember the name) for appetizers. I ordered steak and fries for myself. It was a good time and everyone enjoyed themselves. Overall great place but I have to come back and try the beer. I'll make it a date night.

This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.

We chose the gaming only reservation which included unlimited play and 30 minutes of bowling for $30 pp. Luckily we went on a Thursday evening around 5:30 pm and it was empty so we could play any games we wanted. I could imagine this place getting super packed, though, and it being difficult to play games. They have a variety of games from darts to shuffle board to the classic arcade games. We were there for 2.5 hours and it was more than enough time to play most of the games. The reason I am taking one star away is that they need to do better maintenance on some of the games. The curling lane didn't work and many of the arcade games were partially broken. We didn't eat but they serve food there and there's lots of tables to sit at. They also have a full bar. The cocktails were decent and reasonably priced, ~$16 including tax and automatic tip. Overall, it's a really fun spot for a date or for hanging with friends. I would highly recommend avoiding their peak hours. They validate an extra hour of parking so you get 3 hours free and there's plenty of spots in the garage right next to the place.

What is even more exciting is that my husband and son who can eat anything they want would absolutely want to go back! We definitely left with boxes but didn't want to stop because the food was so good. If you have to pick just one thing do not skip the fried Mahi tacos The host and server were both very helpful and attentive. There was a server there in training who was also great. The booths were very comfortable and spacious and the decorations were adorable. I wish we lived closer because this would be our regular spot, particularly with their amazing Happy Hour deals on food and drinks. Anytime we are near Atlanta in the future we will be making a stop here!

Upon arrival, we had to pay $20 to self park on the PUBLIC street, which seems very scammy... That made no sense at all. They have a lot. I can see them charging for that. At the entrance, there was no wait. There was a license check and a very thorough pat down. The music was good music that I enjoyed, which could be heard by the steps. Inside, it was dark and not busy at all. The floors were sticky EVERYWHERE. With it not being busy, it should be that way. There was a bar stool sitting area to the right of the bar. The tabletop was wooden and it was also sticky. This shows lack of cleanliness. The food and drinks are EXPENSIVE! Expect to pay no less than $20 for one drink. The food menu prices were outrageous. I advise eating before you go or after, unless you have expendable income.. if so, ball out lol. For it to be R&B night, I would've expected more of 90s R&B, but it wasn't. It wasn't the best vibes and just dead. When we left shortly before 1am, more people were coming. I don't recommend and I wouldn't return. You'll, unnecessarily, spend a lot of money here. There are other places in the city to go and have a great time for less.

The place didn't look very clean when we came in and there was stuff all over the floor and old napkins that had been trampled all over right in front of the host stand. The workers just walked right by them not even bothering to pick it up. It's not the best way to greet new customers. The entire floor looks like it could use a good deep clean. We got here at like 1:15 and those close at 2:30. You would think we got here at 2:20 the way our waiter was rushing us. It was super annoying but I guess it's fine. They were clearly in a hurry to start their closing process. I ordered pancakes and bacon and the syrup tasted really odd. I asked the waiter about it and he said they mix Log Cabin syrup with molasses. He then asked me if I wanted some regular syrup, I said yes please. To which he replied "well that is our regular syrup." So what was the point of asking me the question then? That didn't make sense at all to me. Nothing was bad, but place just seemed kind of "meh" to me.
