Center Bar is transformed into the holiday Jingle Bar!! Craft holiday cocktails!!
    Philip M.

My brother and I came here for the Christmas pop up bar. A portion of the standard bar area has been decorated specifically with fun Christmas decorations. It also features unique holiday themed cocktails plus light bites of Latin food from the Tropical kiosk vendor in the food hall. The bartenders were fun and friendly. The cocktails were delicious but expensive. The food was excellent and we loved hanging out and chatting with folks in the bar area. Reservations are necessary to enter this special bar area and we made the reservation for free in advance utilizing the QR code inside the food hall. We recommend this holiday pop up bar!!

Located literally, as the name suggests, in the middle of Chattahoochee Food Works plaza, the Center Bar is a great spot for a drink allowing one to either to sit at the bar or take outside to enjoy. The great thing is there are beers on tap and a good variety. Interestingly, the variety here is actually better than at Dr. Scofflaw's (which is specifically limited to IPAs and similar). Just like the rest of this new plaza, the prices are a bit up there given the size of the beer. But, who wouldn't pay extra to drink in an old warehouse? I can poke fun all day long, but it's a neat transformation of a place. Center bar is not cozy, but it's convenient and it's a really great place to observe the crowds coming through this food court. Think of it as sitting on the Spanish Steps in Rome or on Fifth Avenue in NYC. This is the miniature version of this experience within a food court of Atlanta's Westside. Service was solid, Apple Pay accepted, beer poured perfectly. What else needs to be said?

The bartender "KEN" deserves a raise. Customer service is A1!! Today was my first visit and I didn't know what to order. As I was browsing the menu, Ken approached and answered all my questions. After I sampled the selections, I determined that the Blueberry Margarita was the best drink on the menu I and the Painkiller was #2. I appreciate a spot where the bartender is friendly, the conversation is flowing and I feel right at home. Definitely check this bar out and ask for Ken!!

Like your favorite piece of music or your most prized work of literature, the Bold Monk exists to bring comfort in your time of leisure. It's a beautifully decorated massive venue, with two full floors of service and also features a beer garden. Bold Monk is a place to simply be...to be satisfied, to be joyous, to be connected, to be well. To be yourself! We ordered some beers (note: they also offer a full bar and many cocktail options) and two appetizers (salmon dip & the bitterballen). My absolute favorite was salmon dip. My only complaint is that they didn't provide enough toast. The salmon tasted fresh, loved the texture and seasoning and it was light while also filling. Overall it was a positive experience. The price point was fare considering the offerings and quality and the service was great!

This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.

There wasn't a long wait time, I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender/waitress quickly handed me a menu and allowed me to peruse it. I was able to put my order in and receive it fairly quickly. I ordered: -- Salsa and Chips: Roasted Tomato Chipotle Sauce -- Margarita Flight: Blackberry, Guava, Tropical and Strawberry -- Sweet Corn Esquites: Chipotle Crema, Queso Fresco Lime -- Guacamole: Avocado, Tomato, Red Onion, Cilantro, Lime Juice The Roasted Tomato Chipotle Sauce was spicy, yet not thick enough for me when I think of salsa. Still tasty. I asked for the Guacamole to see how that tasted with the chips. The guacamole was creamy and thick. I should have asked for a container of it to go. The Sweet Corn Esquites was delicious and I tried not to wolf it down. It was creamier than others that I tasted. Would definitely order this again. The Margarita Flight was top notch!! Loved it. I enjoyed being able to sample the different margarita flavors available. The liquor was STRONG and I was feeling nice after drinking them all. The bartender/waitress was friendly enough to charge my phone behind the bar when it died. I'm so thankful for that. It was in the middle of the afternoon, it wasn't too crowded or noisy for me to enjoy my meal and make small talk with other patrons at the bar. Very much a nice place for a group to eat and hang out.

Upon arrival, we had to pay $20 to self park on the PUBLIC street, which seems very scammy... That made no sense at all. They have a lot. I can see them charging for that. At the entrance, there was no wait. There was a license check and a very thorough pat down. The music was good music that I enjoyed, which could be heard by the steps. Inside, it was dark and not busy at all. The floors were sticky EVERYWHERE. With it not being busy, it should be that way. There was a bar stool sitting area to the right of the bar. The tabletop was wooden and it was also sticky. This shows lack of cleanliness. The food and drinks are EXPENSIVE! Expect to pay no less than $20 for one drink. The food menu prices were outrageous. I advise eating before you go or after, unless you have expendable income.. if so, ball out lol. For it to be R&B night, I would've expected more of 90s R&B, but it wasn't. It wasn't the best vibes and just dead. When we left shortly before 1am, more people were coming. I don't recommend and I wouldn't return. You'll, unnecessarily, spend a lot of money here.
