Saw a fb post about the brunch menu for July 4th weekend. Not sure if it was just for this weekend or not. But I grabbed a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit based off that. I didn't even know it was coming with cheesy breakfast potatoes!! So so good. And it was maybe $11 or $12?!? Perfect price point. I got it to go. And it was delicious. The staff was so nice. I was the only customer when I arrived but not when I left. They even brought the food to my car. I'm hoping this wasn't just a holiday weekend special. But it does make me want to go back sometime and sit in person. After being less than impressed by their dinner takeout, I've changed my impression of them. read more

Great night at Hook Line & Schooner. Quick dinner with great food with one of the besties! We were greeted immediately and had an option to sit anywhere. The crowd was extremely small. We went with one of the booths. Mariah was our waitress and she was amazing. She answered all the questions bc it was my besties first time there. I ordered an appetizer, the hush puppies with honey sooo good. I also ordered a Blue Moon beer. Which Tuesdays are half off, so my beers were $3. She also bought water for us. For my entree I ordered 8oz filet of wild caught salmon blackened, served with citrus butter on the side. Fresh food, best burgers in town and the drinks are awesome. The service is made to order so bring you patience and sip on a drink. Kool kids menu and who don't love fish sticks. First visit, and it was good. Really enjoyed the West Coast Oysters, though they were a little on the small side. Did not love the Cajun Seafood Dip...while it had a great flavor, it was mostly fake crab (pollock). Service was warm and friendly. I think it would be far better if the restaurant said this chef doesn't know how to cook fish for fish and chips. I can't say that I have ever seen anything so offputting in my life. The plate came out looking like a normal fish and chips platter, except for the fish which looked like a gigantic greasy fried thing. It was utterly huge and utterly greasy, but very crunchy. The coleslaw was delicious. The French fries were like all french fries. I did not try the hush puppies because I don't eat hush puppies. Anyhow, my lunch mate had a piece of grilled salmon, green beans, and a side salad, all of which looked normal. I forgot to ask her what she thought of it but it looked OK. Anyhow, I would not recommend the fish and chips under any circumstance, including starvation. read more

From the shrimp tacos to the salmon sandwich to the specials, everyone will find something that will more than satisfy their seafood cravings. We had the seafood boil last week that was out of this world---lobster tails, shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob---along with a steak. It was to die for!!! We frequent this establishment and we are never disappointed. One more thing---the desserts are absolutely scrumptious. We have had the key lime option, the bread pudding and the Oreo cake. I popped in here with some friends before a movie on a Saturday night and it was easy to get a table for 3 no issues. My friend got a meal and I shared some hush puppies and fries with my other friend. Everything was hot delicious and super simple just nothing outstanding! I went to Hook Line & Schooner with some friends for a quick bite to eat before catching a movie. There's plenty of parking in the lot out front and even with it being a busy evening, we were seated pretty immediately. Our server was super friendly and welcoming. We decided to grab a couple of beers, an order of hushpuppies, and southern fried faves platter. The food came out quick and hot and the hushpuppies were absolutely delicious!! I paid $130.00 for a meal for two that was prepared and tasted like a meal valued at $30.00. I ordered steamed crab leg and scallops; I received a dry crab leg and a diced-up scallop made to look as if it was more than one scallop, and it was prepared and presented in an un-appetizing manner; the grilled corn that was a side, looked as if it should have been discarded feedstock for pigs. My guest ordered a fried red snapper, it was also dry and without proper seasoning, i.e., tasteless. the fried squid ordered as an appetizer was also dry and appeared to have been left over from the lunch-hour (we were there for the 7 PM dinner time. I, personally, took offense to the poorly prepared meal, it was not tasty or presented in an aesthetically pleasing manner. I would give the restaurant an "F": Poor preparation; poor taste; poor aesthetics and; over-priced. read more

This is one of my favorite spots.....to get takeout! I recently revisited Hook Line & Schooner on a whim. The place was a bit empty around lunchtime on a Wednesday. I guess I can understand why. My server and greeter (same person) was actually amazing. She was super attentive, pleasant and offered me complimentary seafood dip as a sampler while I waited! My gripe, likely due to management, was the ambiance, music and the overall cleanliness of the establishment. First, it was super dark and felt more like a pub that had a large crowd the day before than a restaurant to dine in and have the stuffed salmon (that I took mostly to-go, one thing is they definitely don't skimp on the portions here)! The tables were thrown about and floors a bit sticky. Second, the music choices were odd and bordered on offensive. When I asked who chooses the playlist...duh duh duh....the manager :) Lastly, although they typically don't get it wrong, my salmon was undercooked. I definitely would have waited a few more minutes to have a hot and completely cooked dish. I didn't complain since I was planning to take most home anyway. Overall, I would suggest Hook Line & Schooner. But save yourself a visit and Door Dash/Uber Eats the deliciousness. read more

I ordered the salmon BLT tonight and although it was delicious the bread was so horrible I would not order it again. When I picked up the bun it crumbled apart and the salmon doesn't cover the whole bread just half, only 1 slice of bacon, not my favorite. There's no flavor so you have to have the sauce. read more

I ordered fish and chips via Uber Eats a week ago, and honestly, it was quite inedible. The oily batter slipped right off of the fish, the fish itself wasn't fresh, and it was hard in texture. It also lacked flavor. I'm not that picky of an eater. So, it takes a lot for me to complain. That fish warrants mentioning, though. Julie hooked it up . Asking me what I felt like drinking.. I told her Strawberry.. and she crafted They call it Puppy Love. A rum based drink with Strawberry puree and topped with Soarkling wine. My husband and I went on a date here this past summer (2024) on a slow afternoon. We brought our baby in the stroller, sat inside, and had zero wait to get to our table. The woman waiting on us was really friendly and sweet to our baby, which I appreciate it a lot. We had visited hoping for great seafood and hook line and schooner delivered. We went here for lunch on my birthday. The food was excellent and the portions were bigger than I expected. The atmosphere of the place is nice and friendly and the wait staff is great. The menu has interesting dishes that you don't normally see at other seafood restaurants - so that's more dishes for me to try in the future. Horrible experience. We had a party of 8. Ordered dinner and it started coming one by one with delays in between. We had everyone who got food go ahead and eat but then 2 of us did not get served at all. We asked and were told they were short staffed and must have lost our order. Finally after about 15 more minutes one of the two missing meals shows up. The other never did. Questioned again to a manager and by this time everyone was finished. 45 minutes after the rest were served, a manager comes out with a very sad looking and extremely overcooked sandwich on a plate. He proceeds to ask which side dish was ordered so at this point, I decline and ask him to just take it back. The fact that they didn't even serve a full meal after 1.5 hours was beyond me. To his credit, he offered to remove my meal from the bill - which I hadn't gotten anyway nor had I eaten anything in their restaurant, and took 10% off the table. As we looked at bills, several were incorrect and one person was overcharged $10 so they asked if they could just give her cash instead of re-running the correct bill which was a bit surprising. The whole experience was terrible and they've started trivia nights which are loud and disruptive as nobody is participating but the speakers are blaring with it. The quality of the food has gone downhill and the service was abominable so we won't be back. I went home and heated up some soup for dinner. read more

A large group of us came here to celebrate Father's day for several dads in our group. It was surprisingly not to busy. It had a nice ambiance. Our waitress was very nice a friendly and she answered any and all questions. She was extremely accommodating. For an appetizers I ordered the Bang Bang shrimp, which was very hot fresh and delicious. I also sampled someone else's sweet potato fries which were simply the best I've ever had. (I don't typically like sweet potato fries). I ended up ordering the three taco meal with Coleslaw. The tacos were a little dry, but our waitress suggested Chipotle sauce which did kick them up a notch. Overall the experience was good. The food here is great! We went on a Sunday evening around 7:30 and there were hardly any people in the restaurant. We were promptly seated and the waitress was super friendly. We got the Rangoons to start that was creamy on the inside and served with some sweet/spicy sauce. I ordered the shrimp po boy with fries. I wish I could have gotten just a basket of that fried shrimp! The seasoning was excellent and the shrimp were huge! The sandwich had a little too much bread for me, but overall it was good. Was not for me. The quality of the food was a huge miss for me. I didn't particularly enjoy any part of my meal even the drink.. we were gifted a chocolate cheesecake to share which was kind of the staff. We didn't make a fuss about our food or complain. The cheesecake thing was just something nice our waiter offered. My friend did order the mussels which she said she enjoyed although she said the sauce was very cream based. Heavy on the cream, thickness wise. More for a pasta sauce than musses BUT she did say it was flavorful. The staff a very nice and I believe it's a family owned establishment. read more

Me & the boo thang visited Hook Line & Schooner as a quick little lunch date on a Saturday! We started with the lobster & shrimp ragoon, which were freshly fried & came with a sweet chili sauce! Delicious! We then shared a fried platter with Catfish, Shrimp & Scallops which also came with hush puppies, fries & slaw. The only 2 hang ups I have about the platter is the fish lacked flavor & their was a lot of oil excess oil. However, everything was FRESH!!
