I had a truly pleasant business lunch here yesterday. We made reservations. The restaurant was not that crowded and everything was so very kind and accommodating from the hostess to the bartender to those providing service. Our waitress, Gabi, was so sweet. She served us with excellence. This spot is in a great location--just near the main entrance of the ballpark and parking in the Red Deck is best. I started with the Crab Rangoons. Honestly, they were not the best I've ever had and they are really the reason I gave the restaurant 4 instead of 5 stars. They were served a little cold and I really didn't like the sauce they came with. I've had better ones at a neighborhood Chinese takeaway. My entree, however, was superb. The salmon was cooked to perfection--I like a more well-done Salmon and this was it. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've every had. They made them likely my Grandmother used to--they were truly creamed and silky in texture. I like that. They have some the best Brussels I've had in Truist. Yardhouse across the way serves a spicier option that is just a little bit off-putting to me. This place is really nice. I came here last night with my husband after a Braves game. It was our first time here. He has been craving oysters and they had some for $5 each, so we ordered a few as an appetizer. He loved them. I was basic and got a shrimp po boy. My husband ordered a steak with spinach. His food was bomb. Mine was good too but his was definitely better. We didn't wait long at all to be seated. I also noticed the manager was really attentive, walking around and checking on tables. If you follow me, you know I need my breakfast (brunch if it's the weekend). I stayed in Battery for all star weekend and wasn't sure I'd find brunch but I did, and it was jazzy!! Indoor and outdoor seating, you can also sit at the bar. They had live jazz playing inside (which i loooove) but it wasn't my vibe at the moment and it was a really nice day, so I opted to site outside which was super shady and cool. My server Chadwick was a pleasure! Brunch is until 3 but they stop allowing you to order brunch items by 1:45. Limited in brunch option but there are a la cart items. I ordered the Wagyu steak and a side of eggs. It was so juicy and just wanted I wanted! Was dying to try their bacon shrimp and grits but they only have one portion size and I just wanted a taste lol. With that a 2 glasses of Prosecco, my bill came out to $80. Note! A friend of mine invited me to this restaurant. They ordered oysters and they were $5 each. I had the Grouper and it was crispy ands delicious. The spinach was very well cooked and you could taste the greens. The sauce or the juice was an added bonus. Definitely a great meal. The service and ambiance was very good and very professional. It genuinely disappoints me to leave this review, because this place used to be one of the best in the area. Unfortunately, my recent experience was a big step down. The Wagyu burger was especially disappointing--it was completely overwhelmed by toppings, to the point where you couldn't taste the quality of the meat at all. For something marketed as Wagyu, that's a miss. The service was also poor. After asking multiple times for the check and not receiving it, I eventually had to walk up to the bar myself just to close out. The collard greens were another letdown--they tasted like they had been mixed with cream of chicken soup, which completely overpowered any traditional flavor. I truly hope they turn things around. We had dinner there New Year's Eve. It was very festive as he had jazz, musicians play, and decorations all around the restaurant. Staff was very attentive and we really enjoyed our meal. We shared a Caesar salad dressing very light, lettuce, crisp and fresh. Also grilled oysters had a little bit more breading to my liking, but we're really good overall. After a year in Atlanta we finally made it to a Braves game (playing my home town Padres) and while I kick myself in the butt for not eating anything at the park, our desire to avoid traffic and my need to eat sent us packing to C. Ellet's for a leisurely dinner. My overall perspective is that our service and food was much better than the reviews would have led me to believe in advance. Started off with cocktails me with a Juno (cachaça, strawberry-mint syrup, benedictine, lime, peychauds) and and my wife a Self Care (rye, matcha, mint, rhubarb, velvet falernum, demerara) and while both were good, my vote goes for the Self Care. Kicked off the food fest with Crab Ragoons that were good and served with a sweet/tangy dipping sauce that found it's way onto just about everything else we ordered at one time or another. We shared the Bevette Black Angus and that was a good call as we had two more items coming our way! We are Onion Ring fanatics and have had more than our share around the country. Yes, the generously sized Vidalia Rings inside a beautifully textured are equally generous crispy breading on the outside, and soft and lusciously delightful inside were to die for! These are not to be missed; if they are on the menu, just get the damn things! We finished things off with the Apple Cobbler and frankly it was average at best. Came with a scoop of nice ice cream but the cobbler was warm at best and the bread/crust was lackluster and uninspiring to me. Unfortunately, I suggest trying something else for a dessert. Overall we had excellent service from everyone we came in contact with and our server (Ilene(?)) was the bomb and certainly a reason to go back. This was our 1st time at the restaurant and the Sunday brunch was excellent! Hostess was courteous when we arrived and asked us whether we wanted to sit near the live jazz band or somewhere else. Our server Allie with the curly hair was fantastic! She explained the menu and recommended the best drinks. She was friendly and attentive but not overly so. Valentine's Day Goodness: We had a very nice experience of Valentine's Day. Here are the highlights: - We were last minute for sure. I was able to snag a reservation at 2:45 a couple days before: Now - I called and they were nice enough to bump us to 4:15 - VERY accommodating. We got a bit lucky This is a nice spot. It is NOT formal....if you want formal steakhouse vibe, this isn't it. It's nice for sure, but think New Orleans nice - somewhat casual but welcoming. Bright, windows, open. Every staff member was nice to a fault. Checking in was pleasant, our server Gabby was just the best - very nice, knowledgeable and made it a nice experience. One highlight - they have a $25 corkage fee - very reasonable, and good - your bottle just can't be on their list - totally fair. We brought a really nice bottle of wine, and Gabby ensured the right person opened it as it was a bit older and rare. The manager did this and was fantastic. The food: - Serious oyster game - really nice selections, done well. - Salads are more than an oversight - very well prepared. - Drinks were crafted nicely (Old Fashioned, Espresso Martini - not flashy but solid and well made) - Steaks - We split a T Bone and it was just enough for the both of us - added lobster and it was really nicely done. While it's a good way to get out of the heat and it's higher quality food than many of the other restaurants at the Battery, it's still nothing on par with other Atlanta steakhouses. While I expect to pay more for food given its' location, it's still just hard to stomach the prices when I know what the same or better quality costs at other restaurants. Date night ended with dessert at C. Ellet's and that's what this review is all about! Our personable waitress, Amber, brought us the dessert menu. My husband was indifferent, but I was ready to splurge. Since it was my choice, I ordered the Apple Pie à la Mode. It arrived warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream atop and TWO spoons (of course!). For someone who wasn't overly excited about dessert, my hubby happily dug in and we left no crumbs! You'll see from my picture the apple "pie" was really more of cake in both appearance and consistency. I loved the cinnamon filling - delicious! For those of you wondering, "à la Mode" is French. Came here on MLB ASG week before the game. 2 issues, half of the restaurant was closed for a private party, which made the entire thing really noisy and very crowded given the events. Food took a really long time and they were out of a bunch of stuff. Secondly, we made a reservation, gave my credit card to hold the it, which I totally understand is standard. they don't want people not showing up, but I looked today and I was charged $15 per person, pending charge cleared. I called to inquire and they said that the host should have told us when making a reservation that there was a $15 per person charge during All-Star week. What restaurant charges you to make a reservation? I'm going to dispute this on my credit card and never come back. Service was pretty good and the place is beautiful. Sophie is not customer focused... When you go out for a date night and sit at the bar, you expect good service--especially during Happy Hour. My husband and I frequent C. Ellet's because of the great food and usually decent service, but today was a disappointment. We arrived at 5:40, with 20 minutes left in Happy Hour. My husband dropped me off while he parked, and I was seated at the bar. It took Sophie nearly 10 minutes to bring me water and take my drink order. Meanwhile, I noticed that every other customer who approached the bar was greeted with a smile, served water, and had their drinks within 1-3 minutes. To make sure I got my order in before 6, I placed everything at once. After that, Sophie barely interacted with us, yet I continued to see other customers receiving prompt, polite service. When we asked for the check, she simply dropped it off, ran the card, and walked away--no thank you, no acknowledgment. Honestly, we expect better, especially as regulars. We ordered a few apps. Gulf fried shrimp and potato skins (minus sour cream). My friend raved about how delicious the fried shrimp app was and boy, she was accurate!!! She always is. Fried golden brown and the shrimp was so fresh. Really enjoyed this dish. The potato skins were good but would have been better with some bacon. I felt like something was missing besides the sour creme. For my entree, I had their famous burger! Yummy!!! This burger was so juicy and packed with flavor that satisfied every taste bud imaginable! Yeah . The burger was a hit and I highly recommend! My friend had the fried chicken entree. It was a half chicken.... I believe and came with 2 sides and biscuits. Most of the food options are very good, nice ambience inside and locale right next to Braves ballpark. I will say they struggle on game days, do not expect an efficient meal. I have been there both before and after games, they simply are not staffed to be able to make food and serve in efficient manner. C Elliot has a great location right outside the stadium in a very active open air mall setting. I noticed their outdoor seating was being used like the neighboring restaurants as we entered. However, the staff was extremely friendly and had our table immediately ready for us, we did have the reservation. we started off the meal with half dozen oysters and a shrimp cocktail. The oysters were excellent and the shrimp cocktail was good. Moved onto a ribeye, a filet mignon and a New York strip and my older daughter ordered a lobster accidentally made a lobster roll and gave us that as well as her lobster. All of the meals were good but for the price, the meat quality definitely was not up to the standards that I think a restaurant at this price point should provide Side, dishes of potatoes and macaroni and cheese were excellent. We later moved onto dessert ordering a bit of a smorgasbord build your own Sunday. Apple crisp, Keylime pie and chocolate tart all of them were very good. Overall, the food was good. It just wasn't great and for a $500 meal I really feel like the quality of the meat could've been a little better. Let's talk about the service. Our server was excellent super friendly, however, he did ask every time my ice tea glass was empty. If I wanted a refill once again at a restaurant at this level I feel like when the glass is a third empty a new one should be on the table. It took a long time between each course it just didn't seem to flow very well and we had to ask for a dessert menu not a great way to upsell the ticket. My wife had a whoever drop and said it was really tasty from the bar. Overall, I would've given them a 3 1/2 if the system let me however at this price point, they just don't have quite the quality or the service level that you would expect this type of restaurant. The most overpriced thing was when you ordered a coke they brought you an 8oz coke...for $6. Blanton's was $40 ... you can get 10 shots out of a $120 bottle. We dined here in celebration of my besties birthday Friday, October 28th. I was surprised there were so many restaurants to choose from on a Friday night but since the season is over finding a table appeared easier than normal. The options were here or two other restaurants. We chose here because of the menu selection. Upon being seated we were quickly greeted by our server. We ordered the French fried as an appetizer however we forgot to mention that we wanted the truffle sauce which was totally our fault. Fries were good. Birthday girl ordered the Pork Chop. It was delicious. When I return I will probably order this! I ordered the Ribeye with the Crab Oscar which was excellent. The other member of our party ordered the Bavette which was a cut I had not previously heard of and we weren't sure what might come out but it too was really good!
