This was my first time going to Zoya or a Mediterranean restaurant. I had time to tour the restaurant while the other party was in route. They opened at 5pm, I went in at 5:05pm and went to the restroom. At first, I thought the restroom was impressive. Once inside the ladies room, there are 2 stalls one has this eye sore and a toilet that did not appear to be cleaned. The other stall doesn't lock properly (so.eone literally opened the door while I was using it). The hostesses were kind, offered tap water a d a tour while I waited. There's a hookah area upstairs that I didnt view. Spoke to the Valet, JM and Lee, who were kind, approachable and work for an independent company. They said the restaurant gets busy and Valet is needed, I didnt believe them until we left and there were cars Everywhere in the small parking space. They were awesome!!! (5 stars) Didn't take photos of the food which were large portions. I had salmon (medium), yellow potatoes, asparagus and a small tomato and lettuce salad (which I was afraid to eat due to the lettuce bacteria happening in the world) I didnt substitute it because I didn't know it came with it. The food wasnt seasoned properly either, dare I say bland... didnt know what to expect from Mediterranean but i could've done that at home. The other plate was lamb chops and a HUGE portion of rice. The other guest has been there often, she even commented that they must've changed chefs. I will say the ambience was amazing!!! Smyrna is blowing up! After much anticipation, this Mediterranean spot finally opened. I've driven by it for years and recall when it was Wade's, then Ben's Crab Seafood & Bar. The community began to think it was the location but maybe it's the type of restaurant? Only time will tell. In the meantime, let's enjoy Zoya. On a Thursday evening, we ventured over for dinner and drinks. I arrived early to people watch and have a cocktail. The dining room patio was busy and a few people were at the bar. I'll say the renovation was immaculate. Every detail was thought through. They made the patio enclosed but it still feels very open and climate controlled. The dining room has the bar side and the main dining room. The patio is spacious with these LED lights on trees that anchor the space. The bar is open to face the patio or the dining room, almost a full 360. The upstairs bar serves hookah but I didn't check it out because it was closed. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The drinks were on point. The bread and tomato paste spread was outstanding. The calamari appetizer was decent. Nothing out of the ordinary. My main course was a standout - the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Manzo. My friend had the Seafood risotto. It's in a red sauce and she wasn't a fan. I didn't try it. The atmosphere, ambiance and being able to fine dine in my neighborhood is the bonus. I'll definitely come back to try a few other entrees. Check this place out! read more

I was really excited to try Zoya Mediterranean Kitchen after seeing it all over social media. Since it's a fairly new restaurant, I went in with pretty high expectations. Overall, I enjoyed my meal, but it wasn't quite the experience I was hoping for. We started with the watermelon salad, and the blackberries were completely frozen, literally rock hard. I don't think that was intentional because they were really difficult to eat and completely threw off the texture of the salad. For a restaurant at this level, that's something I wouldn't expect. One thing that also confused me was the menu. It's advertised as a Mediterranean restaurant, but there were risottos and pastas as well. I personally prefer when a restaurant sticks closer to the cuisine it's presenting. They brought out what looked like focaccia to start, but it was served cold. Maybe it's just me, but warm bread is one of those little details that makes a big difference, and I was disappointed it wasn't heated. The beef carpaccio was excellent. Definitely one of my favorite dishes. We also ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and it was cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce. I ordered the seafood risotto. It tasted really good and was loaded with seafood, which I appreciated, but the portion was honestly enormous. It was so much that I couldn't even finish half of it, and I normally have a pretty big appetite. For dessert, we had the panna cotta, which had amazing flavor, but it came with a blackberry sorbet on top that was frozen solid. The panna cotta itself was soft and creamy, but I actually had to remove the sorbet just to cut into it because it was so hard. The tiramisu, on the other hand, was a 10/10. We also tried a watermelon cocktail and a lychee cocktail. Both tasted great, but the presentation could have been better. The lychee looked broken apart, and the watermelon garnish wasn't very appealing. Those little details are what usually separate a good restaurant from a great one. I also ordered a coconut margarita with Tajín on the rim, and I really enjoyed that one. The service was outstanding. Bailey took great care of us, and everyone we interacted with, including the hostess, was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and I loved the overall design and atmosphere. I can definitely see the potential, especially since they're still new, but there were a few details that kept this from being a five-star experience for me. read more

Very cool restaurant with a touch of elegance. Zoya serves Mediterranean fare and has a hookah lounge upstairs for later night. Everything I tasted was full of flavor, including the bread! I got the salmon pasta. Often pasta can be underwhelming to me but this penne was delicious! My drink of choice (Coco Mana) was refreshing and good, but I would have loved it to be a bit stronger. Chantal was excellent in her knowledge of the fare, recommendations, & just quality service. I visited Zoya last week to celebrate with friends after seeing the restaurant all over social media. The beautiful aesthetics were what initially caught my attention, and they definitely lived up to the photos. The space offers several different experiences, including the main dining room, a patio, and an upstairs bar, making it a great option for everything from happy hour with coworkers to date night. Bobby was our server, and she did a wonderful job. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food got off to a great start with the complimentary warm bread and red dipping sauce, which was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the truffle fries, which were crispy and flavorful. The calamari featured large, tender pieces, and the Greek salad was fresh and well prepared. For drinks, I had the lychee cocktail, and it was easily one of my favorite parts of the evening. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken Alfredo spaghetti. It was about a 6 out of 10 for me. It was perfectly edible, but I think it could have used a little more seasoning and perhaps a few more ingredients to add color and flavor. The peppers were a nice touch, but the dish just felt like it was missing something to make it memorable. Overall, I had a very enjoyable experience and would absolutely return. This Mediterranean style place is not too far from the heart of Smyrna. Me and my friend both ordered drinks and food. Our server was decent. He left us alone for a good amount of time , usually they are constantly checking on you and I even made a comment to my friend saying that I appreciate how much time we had to think but eventually he got to the point where we had to ask for a server. Once we order the food we got our drinks. We were given the best bread with a tomato dip. After that out food showed up. my friend got a salmon pasta, and I got the Wagyu burger, which was great. When I walked into Zoya I felt like I left Smyrna and walked right into a trendy out of town spot in Athens, Greece. The ambiance was stunning, it featured high ceiling to floor windows, fluorescent LED trees band an airy atmosphere. We had complimentary bread to start and it was fresh and tasty! My Alfredo pasta was delicious and I highly recommend trying it. Drinks were strong, and I was given a complimentary cake slice for my birthday. This place has been open for less than a week and is still working out the kinks. We made an online reservation on a Friday night and enjoyed date night on the patio. Ambiance was cool - definitely a different vibe for Smyrna but I like it. I loved the. Complimentary bread and dipping sauce. Also loved the watermelon salad and hummus. Our pasta dishes were tasty. Zariah was our waitress and she worked really hard to make us feel welcome. The bar took 90 minutes to make our drinks and when they finally came we were disappointed. Tiramisu was meh. If you valet its $20, that is very high for it to be Smyrna! The service is extremely slow, we sat and waited 5+ mom's before a server came. We ordered drinks immediately and water, waited 10-15 mins before it came, even the water. The waitress was also making the drinks because it was the bartender's 1st day, so the drinks weren't that great. The salmon tastes wasn't one big piece as I've seen in the other's videos it was 3 separate pieces, taste like the kind from the frozen section at your local grocery store, the sauce and sides were better than the fish. The pizza was the best dish. The risotto was described as fishy as well. We never received the complimentary bread had to ask after the food was delivered and still waited 10 mins to get it. Don't waste your time .. I actually came thinking the reviews were maybe not so bad. But listen to them. The disorganization and non-attentiveness started with not having water for I don't know how long. That's because our bartender is also a server who had to wait tables. Drinks watered down with liquor that was not listed on the menu. We waited 45 minutes for our hookah just for the flavor to be wrong. The food order was also wrong so my date had to wait another 25 minutes for his meal. While this is happening condensation is dripping on us from above. Like excuse me? Have bartenders that stay behind the bar. Greet us with water and silverware so we don't have ask for it 5x. We had dinner there on 6-19-26. We were a party of 4. We arrived at 6:30 and were seated immediately upstairs. First thing we noticed was how hot it was. We mentioned it and the A/C was kicked on. The tables upstairs are a cool vibe but they are low and you are eating off a plate at your knee level. It's not ideal but that was the leaast of issues. We ordered a round of cocktails which came out very slow. While waiting we had complimentary bread and a sort of tomato dip/sauce - easy. Drinks were slow but tasty though! I had the Maximus Mule it was refreshing. We ordered appetizers to start. We ordered the Calamari and the Salmon starters. The Calamari was tasty the Salmon starter not so much and it was only 3 pieces. We would not order the Salmn starter again. I ordered the filet medallions medium rare. After 40 minutes my plate arrived well done. The waitress did offer to fix it but at that point we didnt have the time so I kept it. It might have been good at the correct temp, but was chewy and truly ruined. My dog enjoyed it that night. The Lamb Chops were also ordered Medium Rare and again come out well done. That was eaten anyway. I was disappointed there was no offer to reduce bill but understood since she offered to get it redone. The prices are not terrible, but for the costs of the entree it should have been right. Ambiance: Very cool vibe. It was a Friday and they had a gentlemen sitting downstairs and singing to classic hits. The problem was there was different music upstairs over the speakers the clashed and made it loud and hard to talk. This is something easily fixed. Overall Experience: The overall service was very slow and will need to improve. I couldn't give it more than 3 stars based on the food quality but I will give them another shot since they are brand new and are probably experiencing opening pains. I broke my rule not to try Zoya for one month because I'm a pretty harsh critic and I wanted to let them work out the bugs. I went tonight with 3 others and was pleasantly surprised! Is it operating at 100%? Not even close. Is it an enjoyable meal in a beautiful space? Absolutely. They have done an amazing job renovating the restaurant into a beautiful fine dining establishment. It's gorgeous. The vibe was great, although a bit loud. Our server was delightful. She was engaging and funny and mostly knowledgeable but needed some more time with the menu and, more specifically, the hand held ordering device. There were delays from the bar and the kitchen had the timing wrong on all of our dishes but we expected that and accepted it, especially since everything was very good to excellent. We ordered: burrata salad-very good and tons of flavor Greek salad (I actually didn't taste it so I can't judge it) Octopus-excellent (the olive aioli was surprising and a great addition Beef Carpaccio-very good. The only thing keeping it from excellent was an abundance of Parmesan cheese that was too strong for the dish. I doubt that it came from a green shaker bottle but you couldn't tell because it was so overpowering. It needs to be shaved. Beef souvlaki-well seasoned and tender. Overcooked but, even so, very good. Grilled salmon-tender, great grilled flavor and a delicious sauce as well. Penne arrabiata (added shrimp)-very good, nice punch from the Calabrian chilis, shrimp were large and well-prepared. The menu seems perfect for the first few opening months to help the staff get used to it but I hope they expand a little. Everything is served with similar sides so it could get boring. Would I go again? Absolutely and plan to. In fact, I look forward to going again! A few comments about the initial uproar from folks that haven't been and are ready to condemn this restaurant before it gets off the ground: Valet?Yes, they have valet parking. It is complimentary and needed. We went on a Friday. Every space in both lots was taken. The only problem was that they needed more valet staff. One guy made it difficult on a rainy night. Hookah? Yes. They serve hookah upstairs. They asked if they could seat us upstairs and disclosed this fact. We declined and they seated us in the main dining room. The most offensive smell was from a woman who wore too much perfume. There was no evidence of hookah in the downstairs dining room. Kids? If you would take your kids to Canoe or SoHo, bring 'em in. My kids have always been adventurous and would have loved Zoya and we would have let them order from the main menu expecting an adult bill. There's no kids menu printed on the regular menu, and I wouldn't expect a separate kids menu. You'll pay full freight. Speaking of full freight yes it's pricey. Is it overpriced? Maybe by a couple of dollars but the food is high quality and the atmosphere is wonderful. What is overpriced (and, quite honestly, disappointing) was the wine menu. I can only hope they will add a full wine list instead of one type of each varietal at an incredible mark up. We waited a long time for Zoya to open. Instead of complaining and predicting its failure, we need to give it some grace and give it a try. If you're looking for a gyro and fries, this isn't your place but if you're looking for a nice dinner in Smyrna, Zoya is a worthy addition to the neighborhood and I hope it is successful. read more

dinner for 2 on a Saturday night. only 3 stars. we were seated immediately and service started off well. after ordering drinks and salads, we got 1 wrong salad order and no drinks till we reminded the server. no bread was brought to the table till asked. salad was immediately replaced and drink brought out after the reminder. there was a used napkin and food crumbs lying under the table, probably left by the previous dinner guest. my lamb chops were delish. We came to Zoya with high hopes. The back room is a very pretty space. However the low tables were far from the seats and could not be moved. After waiting for too long we had to call over a server to help us. Shay was lovely and helpful. Two salmons and the shrimp souvlaki were excellent. The seafood risotto was so salty it was inedible. A salmon was ordered to replace it and it came raw. The manager was told of our situation but never came to the table. They did comp the bad meal and recooked it to go. We will not return. read more

This was my 1st time visiting and I WILL DEFINITELY be back. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful. I'll start with bread, soooo damn good with the olive oil and extra good with the tomato dip stuff (forgot the name). My friends ordered appetizers and the calamari was fresh, fried nicely and with or without the dip was great. I tried beef carpaccio for the 1st time ever in my 40 something years of life and when they say it is velvety and melts in your mouth, it did just that and I didn't take anything off, just ate it as it came, taste bud explosion. So for my meal, I ordered the mushroom pappardelle and if you LOVE mushrooms like I do, get this, I'm telling you, did not disappoint. I sampled my friend's seafood risotto which was also good and my other friend's salmon which was great and perfectly cooked. When I say I'll be back I mean it bc there are other items I want to try and i believe I won't be disappointed. Also, FYI valet parking is not the ONLY parking AND hookah is upstairs on the weekend, so visit during the week if you don't want to risk the smell, however other reviews said you couldn't tell or smell the hookah if you were downstairs on the weekend. Lastly, the food is worth the cost and trust the menu, don't substitute or take something off, just eat and I promise you will enjoy. read more
