The first thing you'll notice is the quality of the doors. They're thick and heavy, but open easily. There is a breezeway to keep out the weather. Inside the bar is straight ahead to your right. The kitchen is open and visible from the seating area, giving a sense of transparency and feeling of home. Elegant tables arranged with plenty of space to move about lets you know they're more interested in your comfort than maximizing how many bodies they can cram into one big room. Excellent servers are watchful without being disruptive. I like to enjoy my meal without being pestered every few minutes. I ordered the Bone-in Ribeye (my go-to for any steakhouse) and was *NOT* disappointed Perfect temperature. Flawless execution. I stopped by Stoney River at the Cumberland Mall location for a solo dinner and it was such a great experience. I sat at the bar and my bartender Jill was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made the visit feel welcoming. I ordered my go to meal which is the meatloaf with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Pure comfort food done right. And I have to mention the rolls because they are hands down my favorite restaurant bread. Soft, warm, and absolutely addictive. For drinks I tried the Strawberry Fields cocktail and loved it so much that I ended up ordering two. It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and paired well with my meal. What a classic staple- the food is always amazing, the view and location on the river can't be beat!

I had the bistro chicken at Stoney River, and honestly it just didn't have much flavor for me. I pretty much finished it because I was hungry more than because I really enjoyed it. On the bright side, the steak egg rolls were absolutely amazing and easily the highlight of the meal. I also really appreciated that the bar could make cocktails from just about anything they had on hand, because a lot of places can't do that. I'd still come back, but next time I'd definitely try a different entrée. read more

One of my favorite places to go for great appetizers and drinks. Stop being midday and was able to sit at the bar with no weight. Izzy was our service/bartender while we were there. She was absolutely amazing. We ordered the cheesesteak rolls the whiskey shrimp on toast and deviled eggs. Izzy gave us amazing recommendations for an old-fashioned and a new raspberry lemon drop that they have....perfection. Izzy was attentive, our food was fresh and delicious. Originally being from the south, it's hard to find Shrimp and Grits that is up to my standards, but Stoney River didn't disappoint. The flavor pops in your mouth. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Staff was professional and friendly. The restaurant itself has an upscalr byt homey feel to it. I would recommend reservations though. Service was spot on My wife's steak was not cooked enough it was sent back They showed up with an extra potato the manager got involved and fixed the issue! Her dinner was then completely covered by them. The room was dark yet the tables were well lit! Candles on every table. There was a wedding dinner going on which was a bit louder than normal but not out of control. The food was delicious and the dinner rolls are simply delicious! The server was mostly attentive but could not handle the distractions of prom goers going on and we had to call her over more than once as she didn't check on us like I'd expect. Table for 2 for Dinner We arrived at the restaurant and quickly realized it was connected to Cumberland Mall--so naturally, parking wasn't an issue thanks to the mall's shared lot. It was pretty busy, but we were able to find a space without much trouble and made our way inside. Upon entering, we let the host know we had a reservation. They checked the system and told us they'd notify us once our table was ready. Honestly, there were about five or six people lingering around the host stand, and the overall vibe was a little flat. No one really greeted us with much warmth--it almost felt like a scene from a zombie movie. The first thing I noticed was the dim lighting in the dining room. It gave the space an upscale, elegant feel. As I glanced around, I spotted a few tables that looked like they were hosting prom dinners--young folks dressed up, clearly celebrating something special. After waiting around 7 to 10 minutes, we were taken to a massive booth that could easily seat eight people. It was just the two of us, so that felt a bit odd at first--but we adjusted and made ourselves comfortable. Our server arrived promptly and handed us menus. We mentioned that we're beer lovers, and she came right back with the beer and wine list. Wifey chose the Terrapin Los Bravos lager, and I went with the Creature Comforts Tropicália--both solid picks. After scanning the menu, we decided to start with a couple of appetizers. She ordered the deviled eggs, and I went with the lobster bisque. Our server quickly got those orders in and returned shortly after to take our entrée choices. Wifey opted for the lobster roll with parmesan fries, and I went with the shrimp and grits. The appetizers arrived not long after. My lobster bisque was served in a large bowl with a generous portion, and it was absolutely delicious. My wife really enjoyed the deviled eggs--they were a hit. Our server, Asia P., was fantastic--very attentive and checked in often without overdoing it. When our entrées arrived, my shrimp and grits were steaming hot--literally. I could see the steam rising, and I loved that. I always appreciate food served fresh and hot. My wife's lobster roll and fries looked like they came straight out of a food magazine--great presentation. We dug in, and every bite was outstanding. My shrimp and grits were seasoned to perfection. Wifey took a bite of her fries and said--and I quote--"they're buttery good and the whole meal was delicioso." Both of our meals came in generous portions, and we ended up with leftovers to take home. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to Stoney River. The first time we came here was a few years ago for my birthday. Fast forward to 2025, and we stepped in for a quick small bite of Steak Roll appetizer and a French Onion Soup after shopping. The soup is not the best I ever had but it's still tasty in its own way. We will definitely pop in every now and then for quick bite at the bar. I loved the ambiance of the room. If you need assistance visually, keep in mind the main dining room lights are dimmed for an intimate feel. Our server, Mia, was very kind and attentive. For starters, we ordered the steak egg rolls, Caesar salad, and margaritas. For dinner, we opted for the ribeye, lamb chops, broccoli, and garlic mashed potatoes. Oh, did I mention they have the most incredible rolls with this amazing cinnamon butter? It reminded me of a nice, warm elephant ear. We never had to ask for anything twice--and honestly, we rarely had to ask at all because he was always one step ahead. Rico truly made our experience worth every dollar. I went to dinner at Stoney River last night. The food and the ambiance is always on point. I decided to sit at the bar since I was dining alone the bartender Keenan was very nice and attentive. He made a special mocktail for me since I am not currently drinking. For my meal I ordered the chicken tenders with sauteed asparagus and the smoked gouda Mac and cheese. I added a side Caesar salad for an additional $10 since I was craving a salad. I started the evening with my salad and of course those delicious poppy seed rolls which are a must when you go. Solidly good steakhouse. I had the 12 oz prime rib, medium with the baked potato. Looks like they broiled it for a few seconds because the top was browned. Not my preference but it didn't significantly detract from the steak. The baked potato was really good. Fully loaded with bacon, cheese, sour cream. Service was pretty fast. Our visit to this steak house was not particularly good. Our first impressions were being seated at a booth where one of the seats was badly damaged and given menus that were so worn parts of them were barely legible. How management allows these two items to exist and continue sets the stage for the meal. Our server was pleasant but didn't care when we told him that our appetizer wasn't particularly good or that one of our steaks was a sirloin instead of a ribeye. Why that wouldn't bring a manager to our table is unknown. If you're looking for a great steak house, keep looking. read more
