Greeted with a smile upon entry as young lady taking order assisted the line of patrons prior to close. The trays were mostly full with some replenishments on standby. The previous orders took most of bussup and chick peas. Thankfully there was enough for my goat roti order. Unfortunately there was not enough for a vegetarian roti plate for my friend or for an additional order that I had planned to place. My friend was able to get a plate with other vegetables and I nixed my 2nd order. The lesson here is to come early for the popular items including vegetable patties. Food was delicious. I prefer Trini food over Jamaican food any day. A friend of mine who stays in East Point told me to support and the food is tasty. She's only done takeout, but I trust her judgment. Well, I stopped by one night not too long before closing time. They were out of many things, but I wanted Buss Up Shut. The food was flavored well and plenty in my serving. I wish the sides were packaged better, there's always potential for a horrible spill inside of the bag or car. Ugh! Lastly, the staff should suggest their best side dishes for variety of flavor. For example, I ordered a meal and it came with curry aloo and channa (potato and chickpea). Then, what I ordered for my child was a side of the same. That's double for no reason. If someone suggested what I didn't already have then it would've been nice. It's pricey! The complex is suspect at night down that road. There's never enough roti vs meat ratio! I read some reviews on the dish before ordering. Decided to go with the Oxtails with macaroni pie and cabbage. I chose to dive into the cabbage first; it was flavorful and tender. Then I tried the Mac pie; oooohhh we they got it right! Lastly I tried the oxtails and rice and peas and they too did not disappoint. I certainly will be ordering from DJ's again. This is a hole in the wall which I wish I had found sooner. All the food was fresh and delicious. The portions are enormous and one plate can easily feed two people. On Saturdays they even have doubles until they run out. Thank full my co-worker and I were able to get the last two doubles. I finished with an appointment in the area, needed something to eat and BAM! Sometimes the universe drops a gift in your lap and this was certainly one. DJ's is a modest little place, with friendly service and I got a fantastic meal to-go of a Curry Goat Roti with a side of macaroni pie.
