Was trying to get to another restaurant and they were closed and I am so happy that they were because DJ's came through for me. The rice was made to perfection. I have not had better rice and peas in Atl and I have been here for over a decade. The young lady and gentleman behind the counter were kind and generous as they offered us samples of items we wanted to try. I got brown stew chicken, rice and peas, cabbage and collard greens.. I will absolutely be returning!!! read more

Greeted with a smile upon entry as young lady taking order assisted the line of patrons prior to close. The trays were mostly full with some replenishments on standby. The previous orders took most of bussup and chick peas. Thankfully there was enough for my goat roti order. Unfortunately there was not enough for a vegetarian roti plate for my friend or for an additional order that I had planned to place. My friend was able to get a plate with other vegetables and I nixed my 2nd order. The lesson here is to come early for the popular items including vegetable patties. Food was delicious. Well seasoned and tender! Paired well with beverages local to T n T. Good to know that there are establishments on the south side of the city with Caribbean food offerings! read more

I prefer Trini food over Jamaican food any day. A friend of mine who stays in East Point told me to support and the food is tasty. She's only done takeout, but I trust her judgment. Well, I stopped by one night not too long before closing time. They were out of many things, but I wanted Buss Up Shut. The food was flavored well and plenty in my serving. I wish the sides were packaged better, there's always potential for a horrible spill inside of the bag or car. Ugh! Lastly, the staff should suggest their best side dishes for variety of flavor. For example, I ordered a meal and it came with curry aloo and channa (potato and chickpea). Then, what I ordered for my child was a side of the same. That's double for no reason. If someone suggested what I didn't already have then it would've been nice. It's pricey! The complex is suspect at night down that road. There's never enough roti vs meat ratio! I'll go again in the daytime when the food is fresh and plentiful. There is inside seating. You're ordering behind the protective plastic. It's the hood, I mean. lol read more

The food and service were amazing. They were super friendly and explained each thing to us because it was our first time there. Can't wait to go back and eat the other options. read more

I read some reviews on the dish before ordering. Decided to go with the Oxtails with macaroni pie and cabbage. I chose to dive into the cabbage first; it was flavorful and tender. Then I tried the Mac pie; oooohhh we they got it right! Lastly I tried the oxtails and rice and peas and they too did not disappoint. I certainly will be ordering from DJ's again. The value for the price was awesome, the portion was huge (the plate was HEAVY), & everything was still at a good temperature and fresh when it arrived. read more

Finally, I found a solid Trinidadian food option around Atlanta! I tried the curry goat with buss up shut roti, and it was my favorite dish I tried. I also had the doubles, jerk chicken, and oxtail, and everything was tasty. I was so hungry that I didn't take any pictures this time, but I'll definitely be coming back and posting pictures on my next trip. The Mauby was also pretty good but a bit strong. read more

This is a hole in the wall which I wish I had found sooner. All the food was fresh and delicious. The portions are enormous and one plate can easily feed two people. On Saturdays they even have doubles until they run out. Thank full my co-worker and I were able to get the last two doubles. I had so much left orders that I brought it through TSA and when they saw the food, they asked where I got the food. I ended up giving the name of the place to 3 other TSA agents. This is a must if you are in the area. read more

Ordered the oxtail with a bunch of sides. All were good. The oxtail had great flavor and I really enjoyed the rice and cabbage sides. Plantains were a little too ripe for my taste. Great portions all round though. read more

I was craving some Caribbean food after work and decided to give this place a try due to the reviews and my fav Jamaican spot being too far of a drive. It's a small place, with an order window and maybe a table or two to eat. I got the oxtail that comes with rice & peas and also got the macaroni pie & curry chickpea & potato for my two sides. They were out of plantain which crushed me as that is one of the highlights when I order Caribbean food. The oxtail was solid, def not the best I've had but the bones had a decent amount of meat. The rice & peas were ok, I like to taste the coconut milk and it didn't have that flavor. Macaroni pie was ok, doesn't compare to soul food baked Mac n chz, imo. The curry chickpea & potato was good. I would recommend this place since the food is solid, but I myself will just drive to my favorite spot next time I have the craving. read more

The food looked great on the reviews, big difference from what we actually received. The oxtail (the few we got after he intentionally put a sparse amount on the plate) and the chicken were both nearly burnt and lacked flavor. The cabbage tasted like air. The plantain were black. Overall, nothing was worth the price or the drive. read more

I finished with an appointment in the area, needed something to eat and BAM! Sometimes the universe drops a gift in your lap and this was certainly one. DJ's is a modest little place, with friendly service and I got a fantastic meal to-go of a Curry Goat Roti with a side of macaroni pie. It tasted so so so good y'all and the servings were nice and big too. I overate, still had leftovers for the next day and fell in love with those all over again. I would definitely go out of my way to eat this food again. I shall return. read more

10/10 DJ's Caribbean Kitchen is delicious! Make sure you visit on a Saturday when the all the "Trini Eatz" are available. Doubles, Pholourie, Bake & Saltfish, and Bake & Herring are only available on Saturdays. The oxtails are perfect, and everything came out fresh and hot. Rice and peas, two sides and plantain are included with each platter. The doubles are soft, pillowy and so good! The order came to $30. There is ample free parking in the outdoor strip mall and DJ's is in the back on the opposite site from the main street. 10/10 would recommend :) read more

Oxtails Cabbage Yams Plantains I ordered through door dash. The food arrived piping hot which is a plus and rare via door dash. My boyfriend ordered jerk chicken Mac n pie(their version of Mach n cheese ) and yams My oxtails was tender but lacked seasoning. It needed just a little bit more flavor The yams was alright , I had to add some sugar to it . The cabbage had no flavor no seasoning what's so ever. I was highly disappointed and had to fix it up. The cabbage tasted like they cut them and threw them in the pot. I would want to try them in person. 1-10 I'll give them a 7 read more

This place was excellent. Near to our hotel, near the airport. The portions were generous, the food delicious (I had the jerk chicken, greens, and macaroni and cheese), and the service polite and thoughtful. Also--I just want to say, if they bottled their pepper sauce--fresh made on the premises daily--they would have a gold mine. I'm real picky on my curry or certain dishes being a Trini. Im not going to eat it if I don't like it. But this place opened up not to far from me. It was like someone knew I needed some good home food since my mom is on the other side of the country. THEY DO NOT DISAPPOINT! Every bite just gives me memories in Trinidad. And the doubles? service is horrible!!! and I would have given no stars if it was an option!
