My husband and I shared the plate, and it was quite a bit of rice with extra gravy. It was also quite a few oxtail bones that didn't have any meat on them. We didn't discover that, until we moved the large oxtail that had meat. But, the food was delicious and I'm stuffed. We may be back, but just not soon. read more

I just left this location and it is my first time trying it and my experience was amazing!! They were social distancing they had someone at the front door monitoring how many people came in to not overcrowd the restaurant! Randomly drove past this place one day and recognized the name from the Beyond Meat Spicy Jamaican patties I love to get from the grocery store, so I had to try it out! They don't have Beyond Meat in the restaurant, however I was more than happy with the veggie and spinach patties, and a side of coco bread. The patties are wonderfully seasoned with a crispy crust. Like so many others, I am drawn to Golden Krust because of the quality of the food. I always get the oxtails, they are the best that I've tasted. The amount of food portions offered is unbelievable. I can eat a full meal for three days from the large order. The restaurant is clean, the staff is personable, and they consistently treat you like family. I have never been to the Old National restaurant and had a bad experience. I've noticed that another franchise has opened in my immediate neighborhood, but I will remain faithful to the original location. We flew in to ATL international and this place was relatively close! We tried the oxtails, jerk chicken, and stew chicken. The sides were plantains, rice and peas and mac. I think this is the worse location in Atlanta. Food was bland, staff were outside smoking then walked in to fix our food. Luckily I had the none smiling young lady who wasn't outside smoking. But my friend had the woman that came in from her smoke break, which was in the front of the store just to the left of the entrance to the building....Well she didn't stop to wash her hands, but she did smile. The two of them combined get this location a 1 Star. We decided to stop here because a coworker loves this location. Why? Because they give you way more food than the other locations and she is greedy as hell, so this is right up her alley. Any who.....The food was bland as hell. The jerk chicken wings were small and had a little spice but no real taste to them. I had to add Kosher Salt to give it a little something! We dare not sit in to eat either. It was so damn hot in there that the 3-4 women outside smoking were probably outside to cool off. This place used to be really good. Maybe the guy that was at the Mt. Zion and McDonough locations when they opened should stop by here and retrain the staff. We were starving, per usual, and we ordered the king fish and snapper; one fried with the pickled onions and carrots on top with rice and plantains and the snapper had the delicious brown sauce with rice, plantains and cabbage. This is an authentic Jamaican chain that I'm never disappointed by. You know when Jamaican's eat there, it has to be good. There was a line out of the door because they're only allowing about 5 patrons at a time. However, the line moved fast. I had a large order that consisted of 2 lunch jerk chicken plates with plantain, rice and peas (add oxtail gravy) and cabbage , 1 lunch curry goat with plantain, Rice and peas, and cabbage, 1 oxtail plate with plantain, Rice and peas, and cabbage, 2 spicy beef patties, 1 spinach patty, and 2 pineapple ginger drinks. It didn't take long for the food to be ready. They give extremely generous portions and the food is the perfect temperature. I tried food off of everyone's plate and it was all tasty.
