So I visited this restaurant on 2-5-2026 for the first time at The Municipal Market. I previously seen this business on IG in reels. This is Caribbean food as far as the entree's. They have two different types of rice for those who want rice. I looked on a video and saw that yams or sweet potatoes are available with oxtails. Any time I can get that with Mac and cheese it's a go. Their Mac and Cheese is award winning. The food is delicious. The price for the meal is up there compared to other places. Auntie Vee's serves up some really high quality Caribbean style food in Atlanta. Aunty Vee's would succeed in any part of the country for sure because this sorta quality thrives in any market . I've had both breakfast options and lunch options but I definitely lean more towards the latter . The must haves I'd say are the jerk chicken with either the rice or the mac and cheese and their homemade sweet potato pie that tastes better after letting it sit at room temperature for a day or two . As a side note , the jerk chicken has some smoky under tones and isn't spicy . It's closer to what you'd expect in a smokehouse which was a pleasant surprise . Whenever I see oxtails on a menu, I'm there. Was super excited to see the options at Auntie Vees. I placed an order on a Saturday right when they opened and was surprised when the quoted pick up time was more than an hour later. Parking can be tough at the pick up spot, and you have to call Auntie Vees for them to bring the order down (instead of using the lockers). I ordered the jerk fries, oxtail pizza, and oxtail mac and cheese. The jerk fries were phenomenal, the chicken was nicely seasoned and the fries held up nicely and didn't get mushy on the ride home. The pizza was my favorite. I was a bit disappointed by the Mac and cheese because it was just bone in oxtail on top of Mac and cheese. I was hoping for something more like the pizza where the meat was deboned and combined with onions and peppers. All in all, very good food. I will definitely order from here again. read more

We stopped at Sweet Auburn Market for lunch. I asked some questions about the food and the young woman behind the counter suggested i order something that was not on the menu (the stir fry) but would have extra veggies. I appreciated how she was paying attention to what I liked. It took a lot longer than expected for the food to be ready, and when it was, she brought it to our table (normally you would pick up at the counter) with an extra side of mac and cheese we had not ordered to make up for the wait time. I was concerned about it being overly spicy (it was not), but she wanted to make sure i was happy and brought a separate dish of plain rice and veggies just in case. I was so impressed with how she went above and beyond. The food was delicious. A nice balance of spices, fresh vegetables and meats (i had the salmon and my husband had the chicken). My husband was craving a stir-fried rice and was told about this place in the Municipal Market. My Lord, to ask how was it would be a redundant question. He absolutely demolished it! My first time, there was a party ahead of me and one after. Not busy or crowded and it took about 25 minutes to get my food to go. The second time, it took a little under 15. I was extremely disappointed to find they removed bread pudding and sweet potato cream cheese pie from the menu. The prices gave me sticker shock. I ordered the jerk chicken Mac and cheese and the flavor was good. Pasta was good texture, chicken was seasoned well, and good amount off cheese. But for 26 dollars the meat to pasta ratio is atrocious. It's 90 percent pasta and 10 percent meat. If I'm paying 26 dollars I would expect more meat. Service was extremely good and ambiance was chill. The oxtails were good, but have a bit of a kick! The meal was large and the food was flavorful. The yams are amazing!! The cabbage had a great taste as well as the rice and peas! The Mac was tasty, but I wish it was a little creamier- it's definitely cheesy! The mac with jerk chicken was good, but also had a kick! The wings were good, the taste was definitely unique; the breading was just a little crumbly! Now the peach cobbler.... I would go there just for that. Don't change a thing because it's the BEST cobbler I've had yet (and I think I personally made a great cobbler, but I have to admit defeat when it comes to those flavors)!
