Callaloo

Good food but the service was off. I enjoyed my first taste of Doubles, the owner came out and introduced herself and her mother the chef. You can tell they pour a lotta love into their food and drinks. I didn't understand the concept of the reserved bar space because it stayed empty all night. We were asked to sit at the end of the bar so the bar could remain empty but the ceiling was dripping AC condensation on us. I love the location, parking a was a little sketchy but free and doable. The decor is beautiful and the music is nice. I will come back for the happy hour because the location is so convenient.

This is one of those Atlanta spots that's popular because the aesthetics are nice and the service is good, but it's not for the food. There's better food at better prices in O4W, would pass on this spot unless you're just coming for photos. I tried the Crispy Okra Bites, the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls, the Jerk Chicken Plate, and the Trinidad Callaloo. Most everything was fine, but definitely on the overseasoned side and overpriced for what you get. The real disappointment was the Jerk Chicken Plate, which came with rice and beans (weirdly called Rice & Peas on the menu, despite not possessing any peas). The rice was weirdly grainy and salty and overall unpleasant to eat with the jerk chicken, which was already heavily seasoned. Overall, the food isn't *bad*; it's just crazy to pay this much for what you end up getting. It was also frustrating to be told that we needed to either pay a $10 "share" fee for an entree or buy another appetizer, despite the fact that we had already ordered an appetizer and side.

We came for my friend's birthday S, 5/31, and had a great time! The food & service were amazing! The music is on point! Everything about this restaurant is a whole vibe! Everything was great from the food (oxtail arancini, double double, veggie egg rolls, oxtail Rasta pasta, & curry chicken) & drinks of blueberry, blackberry, & mango lemon drops, made by Mickey, bartender extraordinaire, who was also our server, was great and the service was amazing! I can't wait to return for happy hour! The music is great! Latoya and her mom were so nice! Latoya came and spoke with us and gave us recommendations. They do a cute Caribbean birthday song that is so fun! Like I said, a vibe! Get here! The restroom was clean. There's a private parking lot behind the restaurant.

Worth every star! I was in town for work and wanted to find some great Caribbean food. This place had great reviews, an appealing menu, and wouldn't take me an hour to get to. Lol. There was free parking until 9 located right behind the restaurant. I was greeted and seated right away. Look I can rhyme. Lol. Mickey was my server and she was great! She offered suggestions and was very attentive. The decor is so beautiful. I sat at the bar since it was happy hour..discounted bites and drinks. I ordered the doubles and curry goat with rice n peas and cabbage. Everything I ate was fantastic. The doubles had great flavor. The goat was tender and had a Lil kick of spice. Paired very well with the rice n peas and cabbage. Very glad I ventured out for this gem.

I stumbled across this place on Resy. Originally, I booked reservations elsewhere but needed to change the time. Other place wasn't available. Read the reviews and went for it. The pictures kinda sold me on this. The vibrant colors and the delicious looking food videos. I sat at the bar because I didn't want to wait. The bartenders were filled with great energy and attentive. Shout out to Saint. While we waited, I believe the owner and Kitchen Manager came out to check on us. Since our food took longer than normal, she provided a round of drinks on her. I truly appreciated this. Let's get into this food and drinks. OMG. I have traveled this world to almost every Caribbean island and I stay at somebody's restaurant eating lol. But babyyyyyyy... the level of seasoning and tastiness of this food is next level. I didn't need any salt, pepper or anything. I had curry goat. I wanted Rasta pasta but they were sold out. Go early if that's what you want. I had curry goat. One bite and I almost melted right there. "Lord.... I have seen what you have done for others." My my my. The goat was so tender and delectable. And it was a good serving size of food. The Rum punch was punching. Do yall hear me? It definitely did what it was supposed to do. Had to grab another. I was pleased with the food and the service. I will definitely return.

I really wanted to love this place but the service was just not there. Two in our party arrived before the others, so we headed to the bar for a drink. We were told all of the bar seating was reserved and we couldn't sit down. Ultimately, we were allowed to sit, however it created an issue as initially the bartender/owner said we could settle the tab at the bar, then said it had to be transferred to the table, and after dinner said the billing was two different systems...making it difficult for my friend to pay separately for the drinks. Drinks were ok. I enjoyed the stewed chicken. Everyone was underwhelmed by the rice and peas and callaloo. Overall, it was ok. Oh and the "reserved" bar seating remained empty the entire night. Owner was friendly.

This was my first time into Miss Conduck and I'm so glad I came. I was nervous it would be packed when we showed up a little late. If it was fine. The music was great. The drinks were hitting and the food was delicious. I had the salmon and rice and peas with steamed veggies/cabbage and peppers. It was well prepared medium well, the veggies were well done and not over cooked for me. The rice wasn't a favorite but I'm biased about Haitian rice. I got a to go order of the salmon for lunch tomorrow. Almost forgot we had the doubles and macaroni pie for appetizers to split and they were good also. Over all come and have a great time! Happy hour from 4-7p Wednesday-Saturday at the bar only.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time. They serve Caribbean food - with a Trinidadian flair. We ordered the fried cauliflower and the double doubles. You're probably wondering -what is a double doubles? I was also intrigued. It is two small round pieces of fried bread with a delicious spiced chickpea filling. For dinner, I had curry chicken with rice & peas and callaloo. If you've never had callaloo (I hadn't), it a delicious stew of spinach and okra. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting. The staff were lovely. We got there early so we were able to score free parking behind the restaurant. Also they had a live jazz band and singer starting at around 7. The singer was from Trinidad and she was phenomenal. I'm not sure if it's the same band every week but we really enjoyed the music. Overall, a great experience.

Sooooo my best friend chose Atlanta for her bachelorette weekend celebration and I had the honor of finding a spot for Friday night dinner!! I love finding new black owned places to reunion Atlanta and this spot is a gem!! From the time we entered until we left we were welcomed like we were family. The decor is amazing they have so many beautiful details and designs all throughout the establishment. They even went above and beyond to celebrate my best friend and came out with champagne, a song and dance and gave her beautiful words of encouragement for her new found happiness and upcoming nuptials. We were so overwhelmed that they even thought to surprise her like this!!! Definitely deserve all the blessings!! And the FOOD!!! Everything was mouthwatering, tasty and so delicious. The oxtails were so tender. I cannot wait to come back and visit here and eat my heart out again. THANK YOU so much for everything!! We love y'all BIG!!

Fiyaaa!!! Curry Goat Roti was exceptional! Callalou very tasty, plantains cooked to perfection. This is a must have if you looking for Roti in Georgia. The best I've had hands down!!! Big ups to chef and Queen owner very hospitality. Love the setting as well, comfortable with west indie music coming from the speakers. Overly pleased

Listen... this is one of those spots where you take one bite and immediately know they're not playing. The food? Spectacular. Seasoning on point, portions hitting just right, and every dish feels like it was made with real intention--not rushed, not basic. You can taste the love in it, and that's rare. Now the drinks... smooth, balanced, and actually crafted--not just poured. Whoever's behind the bar knows what they're doing. The vibe is where it all comes together--great energy, welcoming atmosphere, and the kind of place you come for one drink and end up staying all night. Add in genuinely good service and it just flows. And let's be real--free parking before 9 in Atlanta? That alone deserves a star. If you're thinking about going, go. If you're debating happy hour, don't--just show up. This spot delivers across the board.

Richard went above and beyond anything we could have asked for our wedding and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a full service caterer and staffing for your wedding and/or event. We initially reached out to Richard looking for a vendor to make appetizers for our wedding (we had different vendors for the other courses). He had a wide selection of foods choices, where we selected four appetizers, our personal favorite (and the one with rave reviews from our guests) was the Mediterranean Grilled Lamb Chops with Cilantro Mint Aioli. In addition to the food, Richard offered very competitive pricing on other services as well - servers, bartenders, linen rentals, silver wear, full bar package, and so on. He was very conscious of our budget and offered multiple alternatives for each decision, which was greatly appreciated. Since our reception was at a venue where we could bring our own food and alcohol, it also required us to take care of everything else. Having Richard to take care of so many items was such a huge blessing.

The servers were so helpful, friendly, and joyful during and before event. There were even three chefs, one of them a head chef, actually in attendance making food at the party. After the party, I found out that DeSilva even made a lot of custom orders for the party guests. Positive critique from the party attendees was that some of the food was cut too large to eat in one bite and they were not served with silverware such as the salmon shooters. The negatives: the owner missed her appointment to view our space, then showed up late to the reschedule appointment, and showed up at the start of the party. The owner's response was that she was bringing the hot food and wanted to show up as close to the party start as possible to keep the hot food hot. Showing up at the start of the party did not give us time to inform her of a few changes we made. We had purchased additional food to serve as sides to their passed hors d' oeuvres because there was lot of concern from our HQ the closer we got to the party about alcohol consumption, and concern from our employees about being full. We were going to put this out ourselves but the chefs from the caterer insisted that they would put the food out for us. I don't want to really go into it, but they put our food out so late and in such a small quantity that I feel like it was a power move by the chef to make sure their food received a spotlight. We should have served our sides ourselves as planned because our people love that type of stuff. There was a lot of waste. Part of our event package was pre-packaged to-go boxes for our guests which were to include cupcakes and macaroons. We received 150 cupcakes which received mixed reviews, some extremely good and some not, but no macaroons. We do appreciate the owner attempting to make it right by bringing fresh macaroons for our holiday lunch (arrived after the lunch) but we only received 47 boxes with two macaroons in each. Our headcount for the party was 150 people, the owner's response when asked if there were 150 macaroons was "I didn't know how many people you have". Also, one box of 2 was missing, and one box only had 1 macaroon in it. I don't think the desserts were worth $3k. The most aggravating issue was that we were charged $500 for cleanup and breakdown and the catering company did not clean up. They brought a grease fryer to cook the food and did not clean up the greasy floors that were caused by using the appliance, 10 over-full trash bags were left leaking all over the floor, the food that was dropped during preparation wasn't attempted to be picked up. They somehow used up all of our cleaning supplies without actually cleaning. The owner's response was that she was told (by someone who was not their point of contact) not to worry about cleaning and that we have a cleaning crew that would come clean the following day. They had been using this person as a point of contact instead of calling me because they "saw I was having a good time". I did not get to join the party until after 8pm, even then I was available to all of our vendors the entire time. She also said that she didn't know if there was a mop. Any of us could have provided this. The catering team was gone within an hour of the party ending. Leaving without telling me even though they did see me to ask me if I liked their cupcake. My team had to come in and clean the filthy nightmare that they left the next day. So in the end, would I recommend DeSilva's Kitchen? Yes, but with caution. The food and service was great, and your guests will enjoy them. However, you may be incredibly frustrated behind-the-scenes.

My Dad was celebrating his 60th birthday and 'The Hungry Peach' just happened to be where we decided to go for lunch. Unfortunately due to COVID The Hungry Peach closed down in August, and recently reopened this past Monday. And boy oh boy am I thankful that they did. First let me say it's slightly challenging to find the restaurant. If you are at the ADAC center you are at the right place. The Hungry Peach is on the 2nd floor and if you follow the directions to the Cafè you'll find the restaurant without any trouble. The service here was unmatched. We were able to speak with the owner Malina and she was absolutely wonderful, a true delight!!! I ordered the Hungry Peach Burger and it was a very good burger the caramelized onions along with the sweet pickles make for a better duo than Batman and Robin. I loved it! My sister ordered the Peach BLT and she said the peach jam made the sandwich amazing. My dad ordered the chicken panini and he loved that as well. Now...not that the lunch wasn't great in and of itself, but this is where The Hungry Peach stole my heart. The Peach Cupcake is without hesitation the BEST cupcake I've ever had in my entire life. My sister said "I will have these cupcakes at my wedding." If you go to The Hungry Peach and don't get a cupcake you are not fully living and are making a big mistake and are a fool, respectfully. Luis, we loved your work! But hey this is all hearsay and was my experience so you go check them out for yourself. And there's no need to thank me, you're welcome!

I made the initial contact with Figs and Honey to make sure they were available on our date and that they would be willing to travel to our obscure and out-of-the-way venue at a nature conservation center in Newton County. After confirming those two details, Mr. P. handled the rest of the planning. He reports that the lines of communication were always open and our event planner (Debbie) made everything very easy. Since we live in Denver, we weren't able to attend a tasting prior to making food selections. The menu is large and varied and everything sounded delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't have an unlimited budget, so we had to narrow things down and make smart choices. We wanted some passed apps while everyone waited for the happy couple to arrive, a few more passed apps after the vow renewal ceremony, and a buffet dinner. We supplied our own cake, which F&H kindly cut and served for us. Here was our menu: Apps: - Greek Skewers (Kalamata olive, grape tomato, artichoke and cucumber in feta vinaigrette} - Caprese Skewers (grape tomato, fresh mozzarella & Kalamata olive in basil pesto) - Bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese - Crostini of barbecued chicken, queso fresco and cilantro slaw - Bruschetta with rosemary white bean hummus, caramelized onion, feta cheese and black olive Entrees: - Marinated Beef Tenderloin Au Pois - Lemon Artichoke Chicken Breast Sides: - Rosemary roasted potatoes - Grilled asparagus - Mixed greens salad We, and our guests, were extremely impressed with both the food and the service. Julia and her crew were on the ball! Anytime they had a question or concern, or anything we didn't even consider, she was quick to ask and come up with solutions. I feel like we really lucked out with excellent food and terrific service without having met anyone from Figs and Honey in person until just a couple of hours before our event began. The pricing was competitive compared to other area caterers, especially considering all the various menu options and the quality of the food. As Julia said to me, you hire a caterer so you can enjoy your party.
