    Superb lox sandwich

Superb coffee shop. After an early morning flight from SF and a train journey to Carlsbad. I got off at tie station and saw this coffee shop. I ordered coffee and the lox sandwich. Both were incredible. Coffee was fresh and the best I had tasted in Carlsbad and the salmon toastie was awesome. Wife joined me and got her own cappuccino and loved it. Staff were incredibly friendly and efficient and we will definitely make this out regular spot from now on. Sad that just because you cannot afford a cup of coffee you give this place a negative review when you have never even seen this coffee shop

Such a cute location. The open layout of the cafe was really nice for such a sunny area. The worker was so nice and made our drinks delicious. I ordered the Iced Chagaccino which was delicious and it didn't give me a headache. Such a great place and will come back soon.

They didn't fill it up... gave it to me like this.

Very expensive for what little you get. I don't have 80 more characters to share that's about it, it was pretty okay I feel like I could have made this at home and saved $50

This is one of my favorite coffee stops in the poinsettia area. It is always consistent, clean, and they have a solid drink menu! My one tip is to not get a large latte as they have 4 shots of espresso in the large which is quite overpowering for the amount of milk. Stick with the regular size for a smoother taste.

    Avocado toast ‍

Avocado toast was probably the worst looking and least amount of avocado you could give. Bread wasn't even toasted and the thinnest layer of avocados for $12 was highway robbery!

Got their seasonal tiramisu latte with an extra shot of espresso YUM amazing taste and such a lovely presentation! The white mocha was beautiful and creamy. The baristas were SO sweet and kind and patient! Can't wait to take this coffee to the beach and read . Wish I lived closer so I could come back more often !

The Lox Toast was more than filling. It was a great size. I am usually not a fan of capers but yet I devoured my toast capers and all with this one. They were very friendly to all the customers that came by. I loved watching some of their interactions with the "regulars". Next time, I will get the chocolate chip bread. I overheard it is popular and amazing. Cute and chill coffee spot amongst the residence and businesses. Loved the area. Next time I take the train from LA I am going to stop at Carlsbad / Poinsettia just to stop by this shop.

    Iced latte an iced americano

This place is more like a on-the-go coffee type of cafe. It's a part of a bigger business building or apartment residence. Parking is plenty and not hard to find. I got the iced americano which was not too bad but nothing to write home about. In the time that I spent there I didn't really have much engagement with the cashier or the staff. It was early in the morning maybe that's why. But there were staff taking over one of the main tables inside the shop with their laptop open and just chatting and laughing amongst themselves. Wasn't sure if they were the owners of the shop but I would assume they do their inventories and business org in the back of the shop instead of where everyone can see. But that might be just me-- their open concept and transparency of how their staff works is maybe what draws people to this shop. But it didn't look too professional.

Cute decor but unfortunately coffee tasted burnt and bitter. Both my husband and I got oat milk lattes and they were hard to get down.

What we ended up getting was parboiled meats that didn't even have a hint of being on the grill and it only had any flavor because I dipped every bite in salsa. Also the atmosphere of the food hall was chaotic and noisy with kids running all over the place. Seating was first come first serve and the place was packed so we had to circle around a couple of times before finding a table that was just vacated. The one positive was the people working the hall and clearing the tables were helpful and friendly. Honestly, do yourself a favor and skip this place and go further south on Paseo Norte Rd to the Green Dragon Tavern just on the other side of Palomar Airport Rd. The food was so much better and the atmosphere of the place was so relaxing and made the entire dining experience so pleasant.

I get that smash burgers are all the rage these days, but if a burger patty spends as much time on the second side as it did on the first, it's not crustified; it's as tough and juiceless as jerky. an abundance of aging primals are on display at the WISE OX. when they're cut into steaks, the trimmings are ground for burgers. a not-particularly-wise cow died for our sins (so said the family's vegan son who begged off lunch). honor that and cook the meat properly. to not do so is beyond sacrilegious. if I told the meat cutter (aka the "butcher") I was going to use the dry-aged Rib Eyes or New Yorks he'd just carved up to make jerky, he'd be horrified. so, why isn't he raging at the guy on the grill doing that to our burgers? the BEEF FAT FRIES (aka Tallow Fried Fries) still have great flavor, but are still way, way, way too salty. check the photo, and count the visible salt crystals if your cardiologist's on speed dial.

I love all of their locations. The Carlsbad spot has a slightly more extensive menu -- especially with the pizzas -- but the Encinitas location is just as good and always worth the stop. I compared their regular butter croissant with other "French" ones, and this one wins by a huge margin: airy, fluffy, just enough sweetness. They recently expanded in their main location, now you can get a sandwich, coffee and pizza. They also collaborate with other local vendors and you can find some unique items in their fridge. The vibe is so cool too. Friendly, chill, California style. Highly recommend this place, or their other locations.

I was soooo excited about the Philly connection, as I'm very familiar with cheesesteaks having lived near Philly in a past life. Well, I was sorely disappointed. We were told that the bread is flown in daily from Philly. Well, I don't know where it's coming from because it's definitely not the same bread as what they normally use there. The sandwich and meat were dry and flavorless. Totally underwhelming unfortunately. So then we saw that they made key lime pie there too! Again, I was SUPER excited because key lime pie is my favorite dessert of all time. And again...disappointment. I took one glance and saw that it was light green in color and knew I was gonna be mad. Yall, Key lime pie is yellow. You should NEVER add food coloring. That's just gross and inaccurate. The texture and flavor were also off. Texturally it was way too thick and dense, which would have been fine if it actually tasted like key lime. But it was severely lacking in that tart key lime flavor that it's known for. I'd definitely go back because of the service and vibe. But I'll maybe try a burger and the cheesecake instead.
