This Food Hall is a Food Lover's Dream. It has everything imaginable and more. There's plenty of food options to try or mix & match. Always great service wherever we go inside the Windmill. This place is for everyone, small section for kids to play, have drinks with friends, lots of photo ops opportunities and the decor is very eye catching. It's definitely a place to check out while in Carlsbad. read more

Windmill Food Hall - Food Court Near Me - Carlsbad, California

My bf remembers when this spot was Pea Soup Andersen's, while this is before my time in San Diego, the iconic Windmill still graces the venue and gives the new food hall its name. Nearby to the outlets in Carlsbad, Legoland, the Flower Fields and Costco it is a great casual place to grab a bite. I have been here twice so far and both times on weekend afternoons. While it is busy, I find it a little bit more manageable than Liberty Public market down in Point Loma (which is much larger and an absolute cluster on weekends.). The windmill food hall, as of Aug/Sept 2026, has about 12 or 13 vendors to choose from. We like to grab a drink at the bar and then choose from the different offerings where we can mix and match from all different cuisines. My BF really enjoys the tacos from El Puerto Street Tacos (which the lady grumpily told us is not the same one that used to be in 10th Ave in downtown San Diego. Thai Style has a decent Pad Thai and the Asado Gaucho has good Argentinian sandwiches. I have my sights set on the Secret Sauce Wok and Cosmos burgers next. read more

Idk what these ratings were...I wouldn't come back here, I tried 4 different places and all were mediocre. We tried the Hawaiian place with the musubis in the corner, how can you get chicken teriyaki and spam Musubis wrong, well u do, their teriyaki sauce was not good so that was a waste. No flavor but also was too sweet, kinda tasted expired. . We tried the Italian place and had their carbonara, it was good just not amazing, that was actually our favorite. The donuts and the new zealand ice cream was not good, very expensive and it had some weird sour taste, the combination was just weird and the donuts tasted old. Also tried the mediocre pizza spot, everything just tasted ok and everything was super expensive. I wanted to try the lobster place and I saw the prices and said nvm. Also everyone looked like they didn't want to be there, no one was friendly at all. Place has so much potential bc it's open and has a lot of seating and the whole idea of having different places to choose from to eat is cool, but the restaurants we tried just wasn't good at all. I won't be coming back. read more

"And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind" (Sting) If you've ever driven on Interstate 5 (or in the lingo of the locals...."the Five") in Carlsbad you've seen the giant Windmill spinning curiously on the side of the road. Well, if you're hungry but can't exactly decide how to satisfy that hunger, just follow the windmill to the Windmill Food Hall. That's what we did and were soon face-to-face with fourteen different food vendors, ranging the ethnic gamut from Thai to Chinese to Sushi to Burgers to Lobster to Pizza to Mexican and pretty much anything your hungry little heart craves. Our party of three scattered into three directions and reunited at a table for our eclectic lunch. My wife went with meatballs from Cacio because Craft Pizza didn't sell slices, just a 12" pizza. My brother-in-law went with a Honey Walnut Shrimp plate from Secret Sauce Wok, and I went with sushi and miso soup from Rolled Up Sushi. I loved my lunch, starting with a nice flavorful Miso Soup ($5) that was served in a coffee cup! My eight Spicy Tuna Rolls ($14) were most definitely spicy. Now, since I love spicy food I was thrilled because 98% of the spicy tuna rolls I've had over the years are ho-hum on the old spiciness meter. Not these. The food hall was packed, and we saw many families having lunch there. Kids were all over, including some uniformed sports teams. The kids were also at the many video and arcade games on the premises, while bigger kids were entertaining themselves at Windmill's big bar. What a fun place for a fun food experience. read more

9/19/2026 - Saturday, I dropped in here heading out from the Del Mar Artwalk. Entry of parking and it's free. About 10 places to eat inside and a few video games. Fairly busy inside. I didn't see anything special to try, but the atmosphere was good. Lots of families and kids. Prices on the food was crazy expensive. 3 stars for the vibe and potential food. Next time I will try the food and see if we can pump up my rating on this location. read more

I really like the windmill Food hall. It gives small operators that would otherwise operate a stand at a farmers market a chance at having an indoor regular place. Not everybody who tries to make a go of things here makes it, but that just means you get to try multiple different things. One business I remember not making it was the Belgian fries, guy, which I was very excited to see there. I also remember a Korean place not making it. But it was that place that turned onto eating Sundubu, which I now seek out. It's a counter service type place, and obviously the level of service that you get at each individual vendor is going to Berry. But I love the overall vibe. read more

Windmill Food Hall is a great spot to hit up if you absolutely cannot decide what to munch on. Located in what used to be Pea Soup Andersen's building, you can't miss the iconic, larger than life, spinning windmill. Here you will find a number of eateries and full sized bar conjuring up craft cocktails and local beers. Food offerings: Thai food, Mexican food, sushi, burgers, pizza, donuts, pho, & lobster rolls. The variety of foods brings in big crowds which leads to limited seating depending on when you visit. Seating is available indoors and outdoor patio seating is provided. Come patient and don't be shy about communal seating. You never know who you'll come across and chat it up with. The food we tried wasn't the greatest but 4 stars overall because convenience reigns supreme. This food hall is great for groups since everyone isn't forced to commit to one specific type of food. read more

This place is so cute! I love the way they used the space and decorated the different eating areas! They have such a variety of food here, there really is something for everyone. Not only did they have plenty of inside seating, they also had a nice patio area that allowed for dogs! They also have arcade games spread around the venues as well. Very cool space. read more

Family-Friendly Escape Near Legoland While staying at the nearby Legoland Hotel, a few of us moms decided to sneak away from our husbands and kids for a quick break, and this place was a fantastic find! It features a variety of food stalls serving fresh, high-quality dishes, which was a very welcome break from the typical fried hotel food. With options ranging from pizza and fried chicken to a great selection of Asian cuisines like Thai and Chinese, it is an easy way to accommodate different tastes within a family or across multiple families. I especially loved the fresh, piping-hot dishes (we got the pad see ew) from the Thai food stall paired with a delicious cocktail from the central bar. Before heading back, we also grabbed some mini donuts to bring to the kids. The space is incredibly accommodating, with plenty of indoor seating options including bar tables, cozy booths, and standard tables. On top of that, they have several arcade games on-site, making this a highly viable and fun dining option for families with kids. Would recommend as a viable option if you're in the area. read more

We come here every time we have soccer in Oceanside. The Thai place and the Mexican food is our go-to places. Even though the Mexican food place service sucks, we just deal with it. Seating can hard to find sometimes. read more

Windmill Food Hall is a fantastic food location for anyone visiting Carlsbad. It is very close by to the outlet and flower fields. Parking is plentiful. There are many food options to choose from. From tacos, donuts, dim sum, pizza, burgers, there's something here for everyone. Prices are quite affordable. Seating is somewhat limited when crowded but isn't impossible to find. The tables have QR codes where you can order directly from the phone. There's also a water station. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would recommend others to come visit. read more

This indoor mall has a plethora of food vendors that cater to a variety of national and international palette. We've frequented this mall before. Last time was during the winter time and we chose Ramen at District 1 and my partner chose pizza at one of the other for stands. The Ramen was perfectly prepared and steaming hot for the cold rainy day. My partner was satisfied with his pepperoni pizza slice and coffee drink. Darned, we devoured them so quickly that w forgot to take pictures. Recently (in fact it was just four days ago) we decided to return since we were nearby. This time, I had the "salad-jones" and decided on salmon over a bed of greens at La Vida, while my partner decided on sweets and coffee drinks. Totally for both our meals each time ranged from under $50. Ample parking with a bar also inside the mall. read more

A great spot for folks wanting a variety of tastes- I have yet to find my favorite food here after a few visits but everything I have tried so far has been tasty. They have a lot of fun drinks (nonalcoholic), a bar, lots of parking and a small outdoor space. There is always someone cleaning up and organizing the dining room which is much appreciated. The arcade games were unfortunately all empty, not working or in need of some love when we came this time which was disappointing for my 2.5 year old bc this was the first time she was able to play them. There were only 4 other games that just didn't fit her age, we love the enclosed space for her to roam around a bit so hopefully next time the arcade is stocked up! I also believe some spots are no cash just FYI! read more

Windmill Food Hall is a fun little spot with a mix of vendors and a cool vibe -- bright up front and darker, moodier in the back. Service was fast too! My sis n law and I shared a few things and I'm still dreaming about the drinks from Secret Sauce and Wok Grill, and the Works sushi burrito from Rolled Up. We also tried the sampler from Asada Gaucho...not really for me -- the flavor was lacking, the meat was cold, and the fries needed salt (maybe even some Parmesan). read more

What a cool little food hall! I was in the area for work so we stopped by this place a couple of times and it was the perfect spot conveniently located to where we were with lots of options. This place is definitely multi-faceted. There's a patio bar, tons of spots to grab a bite (or two) at, and there's also a venue space. Super cool! Love all the string lights here and especially love how open aired it is. We grabbed some light bites here which were delicious, and we also visited the patio bar. The bartenders there were super nice and personable and served up solid pours. Prices were pretty much what I expected - not cheap but also not ridiculously high. Love that Windmill Food Hall provides a relaxed atmosphere with lots of options for everybody to pick and choose what they want. I'd definitely return if I was a local! read more

This food hall has many different food options which was great for our family of 4 since we all have different tastes. The kids got pizza while my husband and I got Thai food and Argentinian food. There was live music and country line dancing when we walked in. There were many different food stands and all of the restaurants looked really good. The food hall is clean and has video games and lots of different themed areas for seating. It's a great place to stop for food! read more

Definitely like this place. Many food options and I especially like the street carne asada tacos!

I've been here many times since it's opening and I find this spot hit or miss. I recently attended the taste of the windmill event which for me was a miss. Most of the vendors were offering small bites of their usual fare, but the prices were pretty high. There were a few deals to be had though. It's tourist season so it was packed with crying children running around, dogs and strollers. It's loud normally but even more so with a band and said children. It was difficult to move through the areas with tables. When it's not tourist season it's pleasant. You can go with a group and it's easy because each person can select their preferred cuisine. We usually grab our food and a cocktail and meet back at a table either inside or out, depending on the weather. On nice days when it's opened up, you can hear the band from outside and the tables outside are a little bit quieter, which is nice when you want to have a conversation. There has been a lot of turnover of the vendors over the years, but I can always find something i want to try. It's a nice concept but pretty pricy for the portions and unless you know what to get most of the food is just ok. read more

I came here for dinner after visiting the Flower Fields and ate at El Puerto Street Tacos. The food was so-so. Was really expecting some delicious grilled carne asada and pollo asada. What we ended up getting was parboiled meats that didn't even have a hint of being on the grill and it only had any flavor because I dipped every bite in salsa. Also the atmosphere of the food hall was chaotic and noisy with kids running all over the place. Seating was first come first serve and the place was packed so we had to circle around a couple of times before finding a table that was just vacated. The one positive was the people working the hall and clearing the tables were helpful and friendly. Honestly, do yourself a favor and skip this place and go further south on Paseo Norte Rd to the Green Dragon Tavern just on the other side of Palomar Airport Rd. The food was so much better and the atmosphere of the place was so relaxing and made the entire dining experience so pleasant. read more

The taste of the Windmill at the Windmill Food Hall! This was a fun little event where you could try little bites from each food spot. Would give a good review except turn my back for 2 seconds and the staff decided that cleaning up food that was not finished with out asking was perfectly fine. Not acceptable especially for the prices. If I could give zero stars I would. Customer service is garbage if you don't even ask parents sitting within 2 feet that whether or not you are done eating. Great place to stop for families or groups! I found this place on Yelp and my family of 4 ordered from 3 different places. The vibe here is pretty hip, there are a variety of options so everyone can find something to suit his/her tastes/cravings. We were here for a quick dinner and there was live music as we were leaving--wish we could have stayed! Bathrooms are really clean (helpful for me and my kiddos) and the eating areas are well-maintained. If you have a group of people, or any finicky eaters, this should work for you. They have more than 10 food vendors and a full bar. My wife had the shrimp on a stick, and I had the Mongolian Beef. Both were solid meals. Not the best we have had, but still very good. We finished with desert at the Mini Donut Company.
