I've been coming to One Paseo since they're originally opened years ago. The location is right off the five freeway. They have a plethora of stores and restaurants but my favorites are definitely Sephora, Pigment and Salt & Straw. When in the mood to drink beer and whatnot, I love Hardland Brewery! The location at One Paseo is one of my top 5 faves. Parking is adequate. The recently installed a "Premier Paid Parking" option on the 1st level of the parking garage. You can easily just scan the QR code and pay - the only thing that's not cool about this is the minimum amount of hours they have is three hours. They need to have an option where it can be 1-2 hours. I've never stayed for three hours or longer here. However, there is free parking on multiple levels of the structure. Yesterday when I came during the day on a Thursday... It was quite packed! There are customer service of staff at Sephora, Pigment and Salt & Straw is amazing. They have a nice selection of stores such as Roark, Fjall Raven, Faherty, Lululemon, Marrow and more. As far as restaurants, they house North Italia, Jan's Health Bar (their smoothies are my fave esp the Chunky Monkey), Postino (great menu and happy hour menu), Nick's Del Mar, Shake Shack, Cava and more. My ultimate most favorite thing about this place is that it's extremely pet friendly! My favorite thing to do is after shopping I go get myself a scoop of ice cream at salt and straw and then sit and eat out on the sitting area outside with my dog. Pricing at One Paseo is anywhere from mid to moderate to high. my reason for my four star review instead of five is the premier paid parking. The three hour minimum isn't cool with me. Please have a 1 or 2 hour option. Overall, this is a nice place to go with a friend or a partner or family and a group of friends to just hang out and enjoy the day/night. read more

I always appreciate a good outdoor mall, and One Paseo doesn't disappoint with its great mix of places to visit. So many cute shops and eateries. The staff here has always been friendly in my experience. You'll find shops like Lululemon, Urban Beach House, Fjällräven, and Pigment, along with fitness studios like BodyRok in the center. Cost-wise, the prices are at retail value. There are plenty of eateries and coffee shops too, including Blue Bottle, Parakeet Café, Nick's on State, SusieCakes, and Postino. Parking is available in their garage, and there are several areas where you can sit and relax as you walk through the center. read more

Charging for "premium" parking at One Paseo makes no sense, especially when those premium spots sit empty. Blocking off the most convenient spaces just makes parking harder for everyone. I came here to eat at Postino but found a true gem! It is quaint with a very large parking garage behind it. There are boutiques, restaurants and bakeries. They have a cute play area for little kids to play at. They even have a dog relief area. My favorite spot is their fireplace where you can sit on Adirondack chairs. Great shopping center with good food options from quality coffee and ice cream to fast casual lunches and dining with cloth napkins. I especially like Postino and north Italia. They have some great murals that make good photo backgrounds and also a seasonally decorated truck. They just installed the fall pumpkins (attaching a photo). This plaza has a lot of potential with very popular restaurants, coffee shops, and little eateries. However, the plaza itself is far too small. It feels very urban, clean, and luxurious. Honestly reminds us of some of the plazas out in Irvine. It really caters to the locals who live in the luxurious apartments nearby. We enjoyed the plaza and so did our little pug. The selection of stores at this location is just incredible. They do have a lot of small boutique, unique stores, but the food selection is just absolutely amazing adding value to one Paseo outdoor mall. I didn't notice any security or outdoor service staff not that you needed, but it is great. There's a great mall to walk around and explore new shops. They also have upcoming events counters throughout the space so you could check out and come in the future time adding Value to the space and the outdoor mall. If you come during a sunny day, they have a lot of outdoor seating with shaded areas unfortunately because it's an outdoor outdoor mall it can't get hot and there's not a lot of AC vent areas overall highly recommend. read more

Surprise gem as the hotel where I was staying at recommended this mini outdoor center which had retail shops and some darn good restaurants such as my fav North Italia as I prescient to the one in Norcross, GA.. Also had dinner and HH at Nicks and Nicks South of the Border which are sister companies. As others stated they have a large free garage but pro tip I recommend arriving around 4 pm as it fills up especially on a nice sunny day. read more

I eat at the restaurants here several times a week. No more. Parking is impossible. They have taken up a bunch of spaces that are now empty for "paid parking" for the honor of spending $$$ at expensive restaurants there. Ran in to pick up a to go order and before I could even go online to pay had a $39 "fine". Vulchers. The businesses here should have pushed back on this. Not very consumer friendly. Can't even run in to pickup a To-go order without either paying it parking a mile away. When they proposed One Paseo, the neighborhood was very much against this corporate behemoth. And it turns out these greedy pigs are turning the area into a mini Los Angeles with congestion, impossible parking, greedy policies. P.S. the parking "fines" are not enforceable. You can't discriminate against people that don't have access to smartphones nor can you exclude cash as a payment (as they do for paying for the parking and for the fine). They're probably just hoping suckers will pay. read more

I paid to park in the premium parking at One Paseo in Del Mar and got a $39 fine even though I paid. Parking here is just plain awful Too many EV spots, 10-min and 30-min spots and the garage is very tight. Just don't go there unless you like to be hassled. read more

We did that but getting the drink was a whole ordeal and took like 45 min and so when we went to go get another i just sat there at the bar outside waiting and waiting for someone to come by then a few times i was told they would be back.. it was terrible so half an hour later i had to go hunt down a server and ask them to come wait on us. He was super friendly big guy and on top of it even checked on us several times as of we were a table. He was on top of customer service.' In the end we even had dessert lol. My husband and I had a fantastic experience at Paseo! We were seated right away and got our cocktails within minutes! The Maya Tai and Old Fashioned were both stellar! The food was phenomenal. We are both foodies and my husband loves French food so the fusion was perfect. I got the Mahi Mahi. The ambience was also very nice upstairs on the balcony. It was perfect for a romantic evening or a night out with friends. I would love to come again and again. Rudy in particular was one of the best servers I've ever had! He was very attentive and kind. Finally popped my cherry and visited this mini mall in my area. I know long overdue! You can get street parking or utilize their parking structure which I opted for. First impression: The mall is beautiful and the perfect size. It's not overwhelming with options, which I prefer compared to other larger malls. The layout and decor are perfect with a great selection of artificial green turf and a playground for families. It's a cute little shopping mall, but can be pricey due to the location and clientele. Not a problem since I love window shopping. LOL. The dining options are amazing and has a variety of choices. I love that there are also healthy vegan options. The walkways/paths are well-maintained and kept clean. I also like the open and airy outdoor spaces. Outdoor tables/chairs are set-up for you to sit, people watch, and/or enjoy a drink or meal. The small scale and modern outdoor space is also dog-friendly and I spotted many families walking their furry friends. It's a great place to stop by and just walk around and enjoy the surroundings, browse the nice little shops, have a meal, a cup of coffee/tea, and/or ice cream. You really can't go wrong with such a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. You literally can spend a few hours here especially on a beautiful San Diego day. Zero stars for parking. I've now seen a couple times people getting into rather intense arguments here over parking, that's how bad it is. I was driving behind a guy who wanted a 10 minute spot as someone was slowly leaving that space. Someone coming the other direction quickly grabbed the space (I guess it is first come first serve but the person was waiting/signaling). The guy got so upset that he stopped his car in the middle of the 1 lane road and was loudly cussing him out and they started arguing all while a line of 5+ cars wait behind him including myself. There's parking on the 3rd floor, people. I know it's inconvenient but no need to hold up the line here or get upset. Security was nowhere to be found and I'm pretty sure they don't even really have security in this center unlike across the street. The parking situation here is terrible and the long traffic lights don't help. The roundabout can't be legally accessed from the parking garage which is a design mistake for sure. The Shops here are underwhelming and over priced. I find it much easier to park across the street and walk over here as sometimes there is just no parking and it's too busy. Some spaces are reserved for silly things like the bus and the Aston Martins for show that are there like once a week. Not enough short term parking spaces either. Overall this horrible center can be avoided at all costs. read more

New-ish shopping center in Del Mar, this place has quickly become a good spot to go to because it has everything - shopping, good food selection, places to hang out, a few brew and coffee options, and great atmosphere all around. Plus parking isn't too bad! Not your typical mall so they have mostly boutique and specialty shops, but still a great place to get your retail therapy on. We always hit up the ice cream shop Salt & Straw, get some coffee from Blue Bottle, get some craft beer from Harland Brewing... really, there are so many places to eat/drink at, and it's just a well maintained, clean place to spend some time with family, friends, or fur babies - you can't go wrong here. read more

I am not sure why this place has only three stars, but I loved it here! I was like a kid in a candy store, running around figuring out what to eat and drink. There's so many awesome businesses- a Juice Crafters (I last went to the one in Hillcrest so I'm happy to see they're expanding!), and several other juice/coffee places including a Blue Bottle, desserts like Salt and Straw, and a Shake Shack. I also like Cava, the Butchery, and saw Nick's, which I am curious about. I have no clue what they serve there. I don't care about the shopping here. Just. The. Food.... and Drink. And can we talk about the lovely outdoor spaces if you wanted to bring your kid to run around, saw plenty of those while we were here. It seems like a great place for you to bring your kids for meal to take your girlfriends out to dinner to go out on a romantic date or just a pop by and have a meal. Lots of spaces for folks to pop in with their work laptop as well and work from a restaurant. Lots of access to parking with a huge parking structure. Great! Clean bathrooms shopping is on point. I want to say that this is my favorite something, but I'm not sure what that "something" is necessarily, because I don't think I can call it a shopping center or a small scale outdoor mall or whatever you wanna call it just doesn't really give it description it deserves. Well just from the way that I would like to experience it it's a place where you can walk around outdoors and pleasant surroundings browse at nice little shops, have a great meal, a cup of coffee, ice cream and visit an amazing butcher in a pleasant comfortable atmosphere. Welcome to the neighborhood One Paseo! As if North County didn't need another shopping venue or place to eat laugh out loud. Somehow the real estate developers managed to pull it out this new spot just east of the five freeway. They did an exceptional job squeezing all the eateries and boutique shops as well as a parking garage in such a small place. I would venture to say that per capita this particular mall has the most teslas and oversized SUVs compared to other shops and cities it's ridiculous and most of those owners double park their vehicles though they should probably use the valet because I'm sure they can afford the eight dollar fee. Now to One Paseo and the actual mall itself. The mall is beautiful and it's just right amount of size. Not too big not too small. The layout and decor is perfect with a great mix of green artificial turf and playground for children and adults to enjoy. What are you come to grab a coffee lunch dinner or simply shop the small yet ample mall is ideal for it all. The advantage to coming to one Paseo is you can feel the freshness of the ocean breeze being close to the water however it's also its downfall come rainy days. It's definitely a chic place you will come across a few fashionistas that come to be seen and a few creepers that come to see lol. I'll be back for sure as my wife is a fashionista and I protect her from the creepers plus my son likes open air malls. It is stroller friendly and has elevators from the garage so it is ideal for families with newborns or infants. read more

I've visited One Paseo a few times now and have enjoyed each experience. Tender Greens: - great portions for the price (especially in this zip code) Salt & Straw: - amazing staff. You must try the Peanut Butter Stout with chocolate CHICHARRON (tastes like butterfinger) Whiskey x Leather: - love this pricey clothing boutique as the owner is so sweet and her frenchies (omg - you must visit her shop just to say hello to these babies) Blue Bottle Coffee: - tried their iced brew. Nice staff. Their breve latte and mocha are awesome VibeFlow Yoga: - THE BEST. Love the instructors and format of this studio. I've tried almost all their restaurants which I've featured on my food blog. So let's discuss parking. The main structure can be a disaster. The turns to get on the ramps to head up another level is so narrow. There aren't enough spaces during peak hours (lunch and dinner). The 2nd parking structure is now open (by VibeFlow). But construction crews pretty much take up the first and second levels. One Paseo is smaller than I imagined but packs a punch. It's been fun meeting friends here for a bite to eat and to work out. read more

There's a reason why the locals call One Paseo the Chernobyl of North County. Today it's an intriguing outdoor food hall, but by the end of the year and into early 2020 the construction of the mega appartment complex and the new office buildings will be complete. Many speculate that it's a disaster waiting to happen. I came to One Paseo two hours before a large social media event took place midweek. I was lucky enough to find parking and after picking up a coffee I sat and relaxed listening to their mall's muzac and did some people watching. It wasn't crowded at this time of the day and it was enjoyable. That's probably how the architect envisioned it. That's probably how it was sold the city. But reality hit hard when people started showing up in the evening. My opinion of One Paseo quickly changed when the event's food bloggers starting arriving and the small parking structure quickly hit capacity. Paseo One just wasn't designed to handle a large number of people. When you read through the negative reviews, many point out the lack of parking and the traffic situation on the weekends. What's going to happen when the attached apartments are complete and those office buildings? My advice is to come to One Paseo now while it's still a three star shopping experience. Dining options: From a foodie perspective there are some compelling dining options here. I was able to sample many of them and they were all tasty. I'd come back to try North Italia and Sweetfin Poke on my own dime. Shake Shake and Salt and Straw have reasonable lines at Paseo One. Again, when all the construction is complete this will be a mess.. So visit here now.. tic tic tic... - There are very few shopping opportunities here, only a few small boutiques. - There are also a few self-improvement businesses like Yoga and Spin Classes. - Three stars today, likely be downgraded later this year. Tip - If you're planning to visit on a weekend or during the holidays it's better to just Uber or Lyft in. They do have a valet service but that too gets packed. read more

As the construction continues and completions nears, One Paseo is turning out to be a true treasure for Del Mar and it residents, not to mention visitors a like, such as myself. One of the things that I am really fond of is not only the architecture but the landscaping. Many people don't notice those things but I do. Perhaps I am weird that way. With the exception of a few olive trees, most of the vegetation takes a vertical growth to maximize space and to allow the various amount of comfortable seating. The brick stone flooring that meanders around the center is quite nice. The shopping center has a real park like appeal. The luxury apartments are trendy and modern, the soon to be completed office building will be first class in respect to the area, and there are plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop at One Paseo. Every time I come here, I get that feeling that there more good things to come. read more

An unexpected oasis located off the Del Mar Heights I-5 exit, providing to joy to all those in Carmel Valley. It often feels like this place was built with Instagram heavily in mind: murals and phrases adorn the walls, while most businesses (a mix of mostly restaurant and some retail) feature indoor/outdoor seating spaces. There are many familiar names in the complex: Salt & Straw, Shake Shack, and CAVA just to name a few. Sure, these may be chains, but they're good ones and it's great to have them all located in one place. Parking can get crowded, but each time I've been, finding a spot in the structure wasn't an issue. Enjoy! read more

I am not really sure what all the fuss is about One Paseo. All of the talk about being a veritable playground for dazzling "fashionistas" and whatever. I was there for the first time this weekend to have dinner at Nick's, and I walked around the shopping area before dinner. What I found was a rather haphazard collection of low-rise putty-colored tin-walled huts with black trim, housing various chain stores. The people milling about were an everyday lot, some accompanied by screaming children. I like the way the various open spaces have a name designation---"Koi Pond", "Fire Pit", etc. One of the open spaces featured an area of artificial turf (ugh!) upon which people sat awkwardly. There were the ubiquitous white-curtained cabanas to please the millennials' sense of style. The planting in the development is surprisingly sparse, but there are small olive trees dotted here and there which help ease the hardscape overload. Parking was not as horrific as I had anticipated. Note there is a small "secret" open parking lot behind Buildings 3 and 4 if you get lucky to snag a space. As a note of caution on your visit to One Paseo, an odd pickpocket attempt on me was disconcerting. Specifically, I was standing at the end of an empty eight-foot long picnic table in front of Nick's, talking on the phone to my friend who had just arrived in the parking lot, giving him directions to find me and the restaurant. I carry a cross-body bag and it was positioned over my stomach as I talked on the phone. One small pocket where I keep my keys was unzipped. Suddenly, an older man wearing a Gucci baseball cap using a walker [one of those wheeled grocery shopping cart type---not so much the usual medical walker you see around] pushed right against me with his hands on my bag saying "I have to sit down". His mask was down, and when he spoke those words, his face was inches from mine and his hands were on my bag. I immediately jumped back and shouted "What are you doing?" He had not been "collapsing" when he ran into me saying he had to sit down, and the entire eight foot long bench was open for his use. It seemed clear he was targeting distracted people on telephones. I observed him sit down at the bench for a moment and then get up and weave his way back into the crowd, in search of his next distracted victim. read more
