This was my first visit to Insight Vision Center. I switched partially because my previous optomotrist retired and that office had stopped taking insurance.. Insight had my insurance set up after only getting my appointment online. By the time we talked it was already set! I also noted that they do vision therapy which tells me they have some specialty knowledge in vision disorders. I have a vision disorder and that status screened during the exam! On arrival, I was warmly greeted and the staff was eager to answer any and all questions I had. The doctor was skilled, knowledgable, and friendly. There was very little wait time. I left with everything I needed in about 45min. I will definitely see them next time I need vision care.. God willing. read more

I cannot recommend Dr. Lam highly enough. I was her patient for many years while I lived in Orange County, and even after moving away, she is still the first person I turn to whenever I have an eye concern. That alone says everything about the trust I have in her. What makes Dr. Lam truly extraordinary is the combination of her exceptional medical judgment and the genuine care she has for her patients. Throughout the years, she has always taken the time to listen carefully, explain things thoroughly, and make sure I understood every option. I have never once felt rushed. She approaches every situation with incredible thoughtfulness, compassion, and professionalism. Most recently, I had an urgent eye issue after a contact lens injury that resulted in a corneal scratch. Even though I am no longer a local patient and reached out unexpectedly on a Friday night via phone, Dr. Lam responded with the same kindness and generosity that she always has. She carefully reviewed my situation, gave thoughtful guidance, and helped me navigate conflicting opinions from other physicians (entirely for free!!!). The fact that she was willing to do that speaks volumes about the type of doctor she is. She truly cares about her patients long after they leave her office. Over the years, I have met many physicians, and I can honestly say that I trust Dr. Lam's professional judgment more than anyone else in the world when it comes to my eyes. She has earned that trust through years of consistently excellent care, sound medical decision-making, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for her patients. Beyond being an outstanding physician, she is simply a wonderful human being. She is kind, patient, empathetic, and incredibly generous with her time. I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with this office and Dr. Schramm. I initially contacted the office because I was specifically looking for colored multifocal contact lenses. Before scheduling, I confirmed with the office multiple times, in writing, that this was a service they could provide. Based on those representations, I drove to the office and completed an eye exam for the purpose of being fitted for these lenses. I then returned for a second consultation regarding the colored multifocal lenses. During that visit, I paid $990 for the custom lenses. Over the next two months, I followed up repeatedly and was consistently told, in writing, that the lenses were being prepared and would be ready soon. After two months of waiting, I received an unexpected voicemail informing me that they were unable to make colored multifocal lenses after all and suggesting that I instead use standard contact lenses. Had I been told this from the beginning, I would never have gone through the exam, consultations, expense, and delay. What is most concerning is that I was repeatedly assured for months that the lenses were being made, only to ultimately be told that the product could not be provided. At a minimum, there appears to have been a serious lack of communication and transparency. When I asked to speak with Dr. Schramm to understand what happened, I was told he was unavailable and I am still waiting for a response. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office. I would encourage prospective patients to obtain clear written confirmation that the specific products or services they are seeking can actually be provided before committing time and money. read more

Although I mistakenly came one week early, Dr. Shramm did see me. He carefully measured the scleral lenses he ALREADY REORDERED ONCE, and ordered me a third pair. He has a specialization in scleral lenses. I have lots of questions which he answered throughly. Dr. Shramm diagnosed an eye disease which my ophthalmologist never mentioned, and he referred me to a specialist. In a past appointment, Dr. S. made a logical explanation for the origin of my particular eye disease, which I had not heard before, through many ophthalmologist visits. My daughter has been seeing Dr. Schramm for over four or five years. We use corrective lenses, so she doesn't need to wear glasses. Dr. Schramm is very detail-oriented, checking her eyes carefully to ensure the lenses are not damaging her vision. He advises us on new solutions and vitamins that can assist with eye lubrication and help avoid dryness, which my daughter suffers from. He always keeps us informed about the latest technology. What stands out most is his personal touch; he knows his patients not by number but as individuals. He remembers my daughter's trips and asks her about her experiences, making him feel like family to us. We trust him completely--when he recommends something, we never question it because we know he is honest, patient-oriented, and caring, never leading us astray. We love him! I believe anyone who uses his services is in good hands. If you decide to see him, you'll understand what I mean. His staffs are also fantastic. The bathroom is equipped with everything a mother of a newborn or toddler might need. You don't often find seating for toddlers or supplies for mothers in pediatrician offices. My granddaughter had her eyes repaired by this fantastic team of professionals. It was intense eye therapy but she was committed and she doesn't need to wear her corrective glasses. She still wears them to read and study but her freshman photo was her first school photo without glasses. This is long, but please know these people are the best. We are deeply grateful for the care and compassion Dr. Valerie Lam showed our family during a frightening emergency vision situation our daughter experienced just days before Christmas. After calling multiple specialists and leaving messages, Dr. Lam was the only one who returned our call -- after hours -- and took the time to truly listen and guide us. Even though our daughter was not yet a patient, Dr. Lam continued to check in with us while we were at the emergency room, and followed up again via text on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Her kindness, responsiveness, and genuine concern brought us comfort during an incredibly stressful and uncertain time. Probably one of the best eye exams I've had in quite a lot long time from a standalone optometry, and several lens replacements,. I was tested as a potential candidate for hard lenses to improve my astigmatism after surgery , and in the process was told that my eyes are not focused at the same spot. This was done just a few minutes by Dr. Schramm and I've been telling optometrist for years that I felt the same thing! That led to an in-depth consultation with Doctor Lam (on YouTube btw) for Binocular Vision. They can do another in depth testing and write a prescription using prism glass, and also offer Vision Therapy , which is rather rare (trust me I've looked.) I'm not a Doctor (nor do I play one on television) and the cost for the exams I paid out-of-pocket-$95 ea. . I will need to pay again for the next binocular vision and RX (quite a bit more) exam - as they don't take my insurance. . But it's a great place to start, and the practice appears to have a large practice helping children early on with vision, especially as it affects their learning abilities , I'm now understanding. I have left a Google review for this place but every time I go I want to write another review. This place is such an amazing place for anybody with vision needs. My younger son has strabismus and the vision therapy here helped him achieve 3D vision and even graduate from vision therapy after maybe 2 years of going twice a month. He went from not having 3D vision to doing basketball, bike riding, skateboarding, hiking, skiing, guitar. He's so willing to try new activities now that his eyes work together. He's so much more confident and I can't tell you how many times I had been told by other doctors not to get my hopes up. For his eyes not only to work together but be straight has been game changing for him. The doctors and vision therapists here are absolutely incredible. Dr Valerie lam is one of the best doctors I've ever met, and she's been such a blessing. We've been also working with Dr Ariel Chen for some time now when our schedule or Dr Valerie's is full and she incredible too. You feel how much they care and their competence exceeds expectations every time. I have been to so many behavioral optometrists and am so grateful for this place and these humans. I go here as well for my eye checks and glasses as does my older son. They helped my younger son with contacts now recently and he is so happy. They are so patient and responsive and organized. They have systems for everything. It's so clean and even aesthetically pleasing - even though that's not my top priority in terms of what matters the absolute most. This place honestly checks all of the boxes. I adore the opticians, the front desk, all of the assistants and techs and just always feel supported and respected and that matters so much. I wanted to write another review (Yelp since I've done Google) because these are the types of businesses that should thrive and the word needs to get out. I've been going to insight vision center for vision therapy for about a year. I have appreciated everyone's expertise and caring nature there. Each therapist I worked with, or doctor I saw always put me first and were on board with addressing my needs and encouraging me. If I had to reschedule the receptionists we're always accommodating. They also gave me reminders about my upcoming sessions. Vision therapy is a difficult undertaking and it's a lot of work so be ready to put in effort if you choose to do it, but I understand my eyes so much better. Everyone at insight was there for me each step of the way to support my progress, just what I needed. I will miss seeing them each week! read more

They had big shoes to fill because I loved my optometrist back in the bay area! lol and the indeed filled it, everyone here is so nice and genuinely cares about your experience. the doctors are personable and i've never felt awkward. they have an EXCELLENT selection of glasses and have the most up to date contacts or recommendations. More recently I had an issue with super dry eyes and they provided me multiple solutions and care instructions to heal them quickly.
