This is one of the most professionally run offices I've ever set foot in. The exam rooms and offices are not like a normal, sterile optometrists office. Dr.Chen was great with my 2 year daughter. It's not easy to do an exam on a toddler. Answered all questions and was very patient. The 3 stars is for the front desk staff. Extremely uninterested in helping me. I needed to pick some frames for my daughter after the diagnosis and they all seem like they didn't want my business. Told me to wait at least 30 minutes before I could get help. I decided to make another appointment to come back since nobody could help me. We don't exactly live close by so it's definitely a huge inconvenience to come back. I asked about if shipping was an option and the clerk had no idea. Was referred to Insight Vision for a wider range of children's opticals by our optometrist after finding out that my 11 year old needed glasses. We were helped by Rachel who was super patient with us. My son tried on almost 70% of the opticals in store and finally decided on a pair of Oakley's. He kept going back and forth on 2 different colors. Since it wasn't available, we had to order it. We couldn't commit right then and there because I wanted my son to be 100% confident in his selection. Rachel was extremely understanding after hearing this and even encouraged us take our time. It was such a relief and thank you Rachel for having the patience of a saint with us. We called Rachel a few days later to order his Oakleys and are currently waiting for his lens to be fitted. I usually put off visits to the optometrist as long as I can, but I'm already looking forward to returning. I came for an appointment during covid and I felt safe because of the precautions they take to wipe down equipment, sanitize glasses frames and admit few patients inside the building at a time. Easy 5 stars. I was seen by Dr. Valerie Lam for an annual vision exam and contact lens fitting + follow-up. Dr. Lam was extremely professional and helped answer all of my questions/concerns regarding my myopia. One of the best qualities about the check-up was how thorough and meticulous Dr. Lam was - although there were many other patients on the weekend, it never felt rushed and Dr. Lam accounted for all my concerns regarding my vision. We were able to get some trial contact lenses going and they were truly one of the best fits that I have ever had. I also thought it was really cool that there were other technicians and scribes that helped take notes and facilitate the entire process. This yelp review is long overdue. I have both of my kids cared by Dr. Valerie Lam. I could not vouch for a better care and knowledge from a respectable and highly knowledged eye doctor such Insight Vision Center Optometry. All of the three doctors are exceptional. Coming from a medical background and having managed a medical group, I will not go to a doctor or medical group that are beneath me in knowledge and courtesy. I have a very high expectation for a doctor or medical group to take care of my family and so far Insight Vision Center Optometry exceeded my expectations in all level from knowledge, courtesy, customer service etc. I have yet to find any complaints for their service. Both of my kids have astigmatism, and they need atropine drop to maintain their astigmatism at minimum until they could be on ortho K and Lasix later on (18 years old or older). I have interviewed so many eye doctors and could not find any optometry group as good as this one. They kept my kids engage and relax. Never once, we had problems with the kids when we're at the office. The kids loved to go here. Have you ever heard that kids loved going to their doctors? NEVER. I have been with Insight Vision for five years at least, and kinda bump that I have to leave a not good review today. I have an appt with optician, thought i can come in and out like 15 mins (already have a frame so no decision need to be made). When I checked in for my appt, the office seems to be crowded. So they told me to wait. Apparently the wait took almost 20 mins. What triggered me is that they didn't even do a check before calling me (20 mins after my appointment time, when I already checked in and is seating in the waiting area which obviously not to hard to see). So funny so that I decided to pick up the call!!!!!! Do a proper check in please, I don't mind to wait but I don't like it when pp not do in thing properly. We found @insightvisionoc and are AH-MAZED at their Ortho-k night time contacts they offer to not only correct but prevent our kids eyes from getting worse! Willow has been wearing the night time contacts for 3 nights and during the day doesn't need anything...and has 20/20 vision!!!! It's pretty crazy. My 5 year old has been going to weekly vision therapy sessions here for a while now. His coordination is noticeably better and has an easier time playing with all the other kiddos in the field. Everyone is so nice and informative since the first time I called for a consult! They set us up with a treatment plan and has age appropriate exercises that has helped improve his vision. (And not to mention I've found myself needing some practice on my vision too) It's great to be able to find a practice that uses so many different modalities to keep the treatment interesting for the kiddos so that it's not a chore to do the exercises at home. Dr. Mai saw me on a last minute notice as I called into their office after trying multiple offices in the area for an emergency walk in. No other offices would take me the same day. I finally called Insight and spoke with Stefany who took my call and was so understanding of the urgency of my (Corneal Ulcer) and help me set up an appointment with the doctor the same day. I saw Dr. Mai and learned more in this appointment and office then I have in any other place I've been for eye check up. They are so thorough and help explain things to help you understand what was happening with my eye. I had a few follow up appointments shortly after with Dr. Honma who was also extremely knowledgeable, amazing and also and made me feel comfortable right away. Through her I was referred to a corneal specialist. From beginning to end this office is absolutely outstanding on professionalism from the receptionist to the doctors and just about any person working there is so welcoming and able to help answer any questions you may have. Had it not been for Insight I could have lost vision my vision in one eye. I'm super thankful to the doctors and everyone who saw me through the process to help me with my corneal ulcer. I have a 10month old and will be bringing her here soon for her first eye appointment! They go above and beyond for their patients. Insight Vision Center has been the absolute best! My 5 y/o son has severe myopia and we were fortunate to have been referred to this center for myopia management. My son receives both atropine drop and Ortho-K treatment. He no longer needs glasses during the day and it has truly changed his life. He can participate in many physical activities, such as Taekwondo sparring, that he was unable to do previously. He is so much more confident and happy now! I have never found an Optometrist office that were so transparent, and genuine. Typically, some locations don't seem to understand families have insurance, and want/tend to overcharge. In this location, they will not overcharge nor make you feel pressured to make a decision. I could keep going on and on about how amazing they were, and how it all began; but to keep it short and sweet they are AMAZING! They are taking all the COVID precautions needed to make a safe space. In the office, they are great with their patients especially children. A few things they should work on is communication and following up. There have been two instances. First, I was told that my contacts trials would deliver to my home but didn't. I had to get them in the office. Not a big deal. Secondly, a similar instance happened again for my next contact trials. I wasn't specifically told that I had to wait for my next appointment a few weeks later for my contact trials. I was just told they'd contact me to pick them up at the office. Which didn't happen. Again, they are great in the office! The main reason I keep coming back. They just need to work on their communication and following up. That's the reason I went for a 4. It had been several years since I had seen an optometrist and I was in desperate need of an updated prescription so I found Insight Vision Center on Yelp and to my surprise they were located within walking distance of my office! I scheduled an appointment for an eye exam and from the moment I walked through the door I was treated with nothing but kindness and professionalism. Part of the reason I had not been to the eye doctor in so long is because of a previous experience at another business. They were very pushy in getting me to try out "new" contacts (essentially whichever brand they were trying to sell at that time), none of which matched my needs or lifestyle, and I was left with painfully dry and itchy eyes for weeks. THANKFULLY, Insight Vision Center was the complete OPPOSITE! Dr. Lam has administered my exam both times I have been and she is an absolute gem. So sweet and so professional. She made several recommendations for contacts based on my lifestyle (I work in front a computer regularly) and we landed on a brand of daily disposable contacts which have worked out incredibly well for me. This past visit, I was in need of a pair of glasses and Jordan assisted me in finding ones that fit my style and needs. They have a great selection of styles and brands. I decided to go with a pair of SALT Optics which Jordan was very knowledgeable about and made me feel confident in my decision. Our 8 year old daughter is nearly finished with a 9 month program of vision therapy under Dr. Lam and the vision therapists. Everyone in the office is kind, courteous and has a quick response time to questions. Our daughter started out with eye teaming issues that lead her to feel carsick when reading. The Insight team worked with her using lots of fun exercises and now she's flying through chapter books two grade levels ahead. Our daughter loved the online exercises and games. Lots of effort shown in their attempts to get me the right Ortho-K lens for my right eye which was changing prescriptions many times during the day. There were a lot of hurdles to go through to get my right eye fixed, but I think it's working out. (Read my previous reviews for more detail concerning the process) Initially, they designed me a right eye lens after measuring my eye, the basic optometry procedure. It was good for the first week, and then my right eye started fluctuating prescriptions, just like how the first place I got my ortho-k lens from, it only worked for a week. It has always been a mystery for my right eye for 4 years. Fortunately, it seems like they are very-well versed in optometry and Dr. Mai figured out that it was likely muscle spasming in the eye either due to diabetes or stress. Given I have immense amounts of stress in my life, it made sense since I didn't have diabetes. It turns out the lens from my previous optometrist as well as the one he created was overcorrecting my eye, since it was the prescription when I was under high amounts of stress, like -5.5. After waiting a couple weeks for my eyes to settle back to its true prescription (since Ortho-k lens reshape the cornea), he used an eye drop thing to dilate and force my eyes to relax instead of spasming under stress, and he measured around -3.5, way lower. That was my true prescription when I wasn't stressing. I got my new lens for my true prescription of around -3.5 a week ago, and so far I see 20/20 after 5-7 days. I have a lot of hope because it makes sense that an overcorrection would cause my eyes to probably spasm, so I feel relieved of my lower prescription of -3.5 was the true one and the -5.5 was the overcorrected/stressed one. Hopefully with this new lens, my eyes will relax, but we will have to see what happens in a week. I will continually update the review of the results, but it should remain 5 stars given their continued efforts to help me get a lens that works for my eye, and I'm very appreciative of that. They made extra lens of no charge to make sure I got the ones that fit, and they were always answering my questions--I'm sure I got much more appointments than the average person due to my special cause of eye-spasms, so they spent a lot of time on me, and time is money which they were willing to sacrifice to make me satisfied. read more

I'm glad that I made the right choice by going to this establishment for my eye exam. Like many yelpers, I browsed yelp to find a new optometrist. Within 2 miles from my residence there are many other location with high ratings, but somehow I chose Insight Vision Center which I am happy I did. I have a condition that makes one of my eye's lazy, I think you can call it "Lazy eye condition". I have seen a few optometrists and tried many prescription glasses in the last 20 years, but I never feel I got the right prescription, therefore i never wear glasses. This time I am on a mission to find the one optometrist who can find the right prescription for me. Two weeks ago, I came in for my first appointment with Dr. Lam, after leaving the office I decided to go with her new prescription, and ordered progressive lenses, according to Jaime, the optician, progress lenses are the newest lenses in the market. He explained the differences between progress lenses and the old ones. I decided to give it a try, they are pricey but for my eyes, no cost is too much. I decided to use my old glass frame since it is brand-new and still very stylist. I also came home with a few pairs of contact lens to try out. Two weeks later I come back to make sure my glasses and contact lenses work out for me, this time is with Dr. Mai. I must say I am very please with the experiences. They are both very kind, nice, professional, and carry great mannerism. They made me feel that they really care about my eyes well-being. They spent good amount of time trying to find the right prescription for me. This second visit, Dr. Mai decided to adjust my prescription a bit. I am excited to wear my new glasses when they are ready. If you are in search for a good optometrist, you should give Insight Vision Center a call. The doctors here are wonderful as well as the staffs. The office is clean, bright, modern, with good amount of beautiful frames, good website and appointment system.
