A great small business that is well worth supporting! Everything is super clean and organized, and the ladies there are super nice! Cheryl was the one that was able to help me out and she was so kind and patient, she went through all of my options and was even able to order a new frame that fit my old lenses. I ended up deciding to get the old frame repaired and they were able to laser solder the arms back on in just a couple days. You know when you really need a service and you can't find one to save your life? You know like you need en electrician that specializes in electric dog polishers? Not that I own one of those, but you know what I men. You need someone to take care of something and you just can't find them. Well, that's what happened to me. i had a VERY expensive pair of Oakley Madman sunglasses. The hinge on the right side had broken somehow ... don't ask me how, because I treated these things like the hope diamond every time I wore them. Regardless, they broke. After spending COUNTLESS hours on the phone and emails w/ Oakley's "service provide" who told me the couldn't fix the glasses, or even sell me a replacement part (the best that they could offer me was a 35% off coupon to buy a new pair at full retail), I had no other choice than to find a place to maybe repair them. I called numerous eyeglass places who wouldn't even touch them. I had just given up hope when I found Sue Optical on a random Google search. They we're just down the street from my house. So I drove to down to see if they would do anything. They were located in a strip mall, and a little hidden from view, but I was able to locate them without too much trouble. So I walked in. The place was clean and tidy, and was nicely laid out. I was greeted at the counter by a very nice lady. I showed her my glasses and she checked them out and said, "We can fix these, it should run about $45." I was like, "Really? Let's do this!" Less than a week later, the glasses were fixed and they charged me $45, as promised. Now this is a service I'll probably never need to use again, as my sunglasses hardly ever break, but now I know that place to go or to recommend my friends to! Bottom line? The Costco glasses area suggested Sue optical as a place that can repair frames and glasses. I've used them in the past successfully personally. This time my child can't see without their glasses and had unfortunately bent the hinge hardware. I brought my son's glasses in to get fixed. She said she couldn't fix them properly. I asked if she could just glue them and she said- it might only last a day. How many business people turn down money because they know they can't deliver to their normal quality? She has probably worked on my glasses and my son's over 20 times. We are rough on our glasses and she has saved us hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. I also leave her an extra cash tip because I need this business to stay in business. She asked if I wanted to pay now and I said I only have my card so she said to come back with cash. The shop was Vietnamese and I'm all about supporting my people's small business so all good. What a wonderful, wonderful resource Sue Optical is - everyone one staff is patient, careful, considerate, and so very pleasant to deal with. They are completely upfront about repairs, saying things like, "Well, you'll be able to wear them, but the temple piece probably won't fold back down exactly the way it used to," and then, when I get the glasses back, they are always at least as good as they promised me they would be. Repairs are reasonably priced and done very quickly - not same day (usually, though every once in a while...) - and done well.
