This store got me started with entering the market of ultra-luxury eyeware. Previously I have been assisted by Jourdan, but I believe he is no longer at this location. I have bought a few pairs of glasses from Dita from optical glasses to sunglasses. If you want to add a prescription they will need to send the frame away to be done, but will promptly call you when it is finished. The quality of the Japanese acetate I have found is much more luxurious than previous Italian frames I had bought. Would recommend if you don't mind spending a little more to get something of more substantial quality. read more

Immediately as I entered the store, Christian greeted me. I told him that I dropped my Mach 6 glasses and if they were repairable or if he can help me. He explained that my glasses would have to be sent out for repair and he would contact me as soon as they came back in (which he did). This is a follow up on more from the circus show. TERRIBLE SERVICE AND EVEN WORSE QUALITY CONTROL. If the DMV sold sunglasses, you would have a better customer experience. Please do not spend your money at this company. DITA use to be a premiere luxury eyewear company with a brand known for taking care of their clients. Somewhere over time, they've turned into a corporate company more focused on cutting costs and taking short cuts, resulting in extreme quality control issues and customer service that has downgraded. DITA makes the DMV experience feel like a luxury spa. From the store manager, to the regional manager Jeremy, DITA refuses to take accountability for taking my money in exchange for the equivalent of broken or used frames. I purchased, what is my 40th or so frame, and I paid to upgrade the lenses. I paid upfront for the lenses and frames and could not wear the frames as I did not like the look with the included lenses. After not hearing from DITA for over a month, I called the store several times and received different answers on when I could pick up the frames. It was until I went to the store in person, that I learned the lenses were never ordered. Much to my frustration, the lenses were then ordered, 6 weeks after my original purchase. Oh, the store manager told me I was a liar and basically said I couldn't be telling the truth, while refusing me a refund for frames I never wore or offering to help out in any way other than to finally place the order. Being at the store manager's mercy, I reluctantly proceeded as I had no choice, or I would have to eat $900 on frames I wouldn't wear. Furthermore, I also had to repair another of my favorite frames and dropped these off and paid for repairs upfront. The regional manager Jeremy reached out and was kind and responsive at first and said he would ensure my experience would improve. Well, after weeks passed, I still didn't have my lenses or my repaired frames. Finally after 5-6 weeks, my wife was at the mall and stopped by and of course, the frames were ready, even though I had called multiple times and was told they weren't at the store yet. When my wife brought the frames home, both frames were damaged. Literally the frames which were suppose to be the equivalent of brand new were both damaged. One was a result of a faulty lens install, which resulted in squeaky plastic frames and the other was a result a new temple being installed incorrectly making the sunglasses sit crooked. It looks like they glued the temple back on after breaking it during the repair. I have since reached out to Jeremy and he hasn't called me back after several attempts to discuss this matter live. Between the cost of the frames, upgrades, and 3 months of time, I'm now out of thousands of dollars. How does DITA think this is how you treat a loyal customer of 14+ years. TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ELSEWHERE!!! read more

I got introduced to Dita eyewear about 4-5 years ago through working at 80's Purple. We've been dating ever since and are crazy in love. Each piece is crafted magnificently and has that old-world swagger and vintage sensibility combined with new but subtle updates. Real classy my friends. I brought a pair of my busted glasses in, I guess someone with a grossly fat head wore 'em cause the arms bent way out and they wouldn't even sit on my face anymore. Sadly after 15 minutes, the glasses couldn't be fixed but they graciously offered to have them sent in for replacement. Now I have a new pair and am closely guarding it from would-be wearers with melon-sized noggins. Thanks Dita! If your style swag is close to nonexistent. I highly suggest you upgrade AND invest your #shadegame like pronto with a pair of sunnies from Dita. I like the optical frames especially the Grand Reserve just as much but LASIK took care of my optical needs. I could be a poser but that's not how I roll. My all time #1 frame so far is the Creator. Like an OG sneakerhead....I loved them that much. I bought one to rock and one to stock. My first pair I ever got was the Midnight Special 5 years ago and that's how the love affair began with Dita. Even though I live closer to Melrose I still prefer to come here. It's worth the schlep. Here at Fashion Island, the layout display is more "spacious" compared to the Melrose location. Whomever your dealing with...you should be well taken care of....superb 5 star concierge type "white glove service". Dita Eyewear is the crème de la crème of eyewear. Okay I'll admit it. I've got a weakness for sunglasses and it's bad. I'd only seen Dita online when celebs like the Kardashians wear them in their daily rotation among other brands that they switch out since those guys have more money than they know what to do with. But I digress. When walking around Fashion Island for the first time last weekend, I spotted the Dita sign and I knew instantly that I *had* to walk in and see these babies in person. Like a kid in a candy store, I could feel that excited-ness and sense of new found discovery from seeing all these perfectly lined up frames. Oh, the colors and shapes and uniqueness of it all just captured me. I had no idea where to start and I narrowed in on one pair that caught my eye. The sales associate seemed to be as enthused as I was when I explained to him that this was my first time in a retail store. As I put the sunglasses on, I had to contain my inner glee because I did not want to lead him on. Of course I wasn't going to buy anything. I already purchased a pair of Tom Fords that cost me *ahem* more than I should have spent on glasses period. But it didn't stop me from ooohing and aahhhing at the Dita sunglasses that were now sitting perfectly atop my face with their super blacked out lenses that made me feel like an instant celebrity that was trying to shade herself from all the bright lights from the paparazzi taking pictures. Ah yes, I was already in my dream state. Fast forward 7 frames later, I made my way into the eyeglasses section and I found a pair called the "Plume" that looked like they were made for me. You know the kind of eyeglasses with the thick plastic frames that make you look nerdy yet cool? All the hipsters wear them. Yup, these were it. I believe they were about $400. In my dream I busted out my black platinum card and paid for them on the spot. But reality soon called and I took them off to put them back on the shelf. Christian helped me and my friend repair our Mach 6 glasses. My friend got to fix his glasses that had bended the metal frame, he thought he was going to have to make due. But Christian said the repair was only a 125 dollars, my friend was happy to hear that news. For me I love my Mach six but wanted a darker frame, Christian told me it was a 100 dollars to switch out the lenses which is a steal! Other places are charging 350 dollars. Mistakenly chose the wrong color 2 times and ended up with the black gradient lens on the 3rd try. Love the look on the black. They only charged me once throughout the process! Holy moly this place is expensive. Yep. The glasses will run you circa $400 a pop. But ohhh are they ever awesome. A high end/expensive/overpriced/Newport/whatever-you-want-to-call-it place like this can go one of two ways: superb service or snooty service. I'm very happy to say that fall squarely in the former. The service here has been beyond amazing. Even the time I came when I was just being a looky loo, they were completely friendly and not annoyed that I wasn't looking to buy right then. Well, it all worked out because these old Ray Ban prescription frames I've been rocking are beat. So, today I decided to go in and buy my first pair of schmancy glasses ever. (Not sunglasses, FYI. I'm a strong believer in cheap sunglasses only.) The awesome guy there... whose name I'm totally blanking on now... was so helpful and friendly. And suggested all sorts of frames for me and let me try on about three thousand of them without so much as an eye roll. So far everything has been fabulous with Dita Legends, I just can't wait to actually get my glasses in now! read more

Sure...I'm a fan...Dita's are art as much as they are sunglasses. I was shopping to replace my old Ray-Ban Aviators. When I say "old", I mean older than the median age of most of the Yelp community...they just celebrated their 23rd birthday, as evidenced by the cracked temples, dings and scratches on the lenses, broken screw heads in the frames, and nose-pieces worn to a razors edge (so comfortable!). But dammit, I make things last...these things cost money ya know! The Beautiful Carin and I hit Fashion Island (and hit it hard) looking for sunglasses for me and couple of other things on our shopping list for her. I like to spread my business around a bit and I ended up buying a couple pairs of glasses (which, by my back of the envelope calculations, will last me another 46 years...by which time I will living in the new retirement community on Mars). One of those pairs was at Dita. And beautiful goggles they are! All polarized and titanium! I asked the sales guy (and he was good...he almost got me to seriously consider a pair that cost $1,000) if the titanium meant that my glasses wouldn't melt if I wore them when the temperature was 800 degrees? He didn't miss a beat...said "you bet" and kept up the charm offensive! I finally settled on a more "reasonably" priced pair...but they are still very nice and sporty...perfect for my brand of running, mountain biking, golf and beach bumming. I like these glasses...and I will hug them and squeeze them and call them "George". I hope the titanium can take it! read more

As you'll see from my reviews, I usually pretty bullish and positive, but not so much here. Perhaps my experience was a one-off as others have had good things to say. I will say that the people that work here know their product well and understand how to sell and justify the top-end price. My experience was poor due to the fact that I had them put an Rx in my sunglasses, had I just bought them off the rack and gone home it wouldn't have been an issue. The shade of the lens I ordered was not the right one, no big deal except that they didn't properly inspect them when they came back from the lab. So when I went to pick them up it was the first they'd bothered to look. Not living nearby, it's a hassle to get down there and the woman was very apologetic for not doing a better QC job from the start. She promised to call the lab the following morning, request a rush and update the next day with an ETA. Next day, no call. Following day, no call. 5 days later I go by, still no glasses. 3 weeks from the initial order I finally got them, but for the price I expect excellent service. read more

I was introduced to this company 4 or 5 years ago by one of my best guy friends from high school. He had taken me here to go purchase his sunglasses and told me that he loved this place. They'll pretty much change out the lenses for you to optical lenses if they are sunglasses and vice versa. He wanted me to get a pair too. At the time I had just gotten a pair of cheap ray bans from another place that had replaced my favorite rectangular tortoise shell ralph lauren frames that I had for years (they broke on me and everywhere I went, they said they couldn't fix it). So I browsed around and came across the Royce optical glasses. These fit my face well and I loved how they looked. They were the same kind of tortoise shell color as my ralph laurens. The staff was very knowledgeable about their products and were very friendly and helpful when choosing the right frames. Now the majority of their glasses are made from bamboo and plastic combined, in which they are very durable and strong. This optical company is based from Japan/made in Japan. I told them I'd come back later on to possibly purchase them. Lo and behold I did a couple weeks after that visit and my friend said we were glasses buddies now lol. Their after service is always great. They'll clean, adjust, fix etc. any issues that you have such as popping a lens back in, tightening loose hinges, or sending it back to the shop to get it replaced or fixed with no cost (unless it's something that needs a lot of work). At one point another guy had adjusted it for me but it didn't feel right and later on found out that the nose piece was "stretched out" from over heating the frames and they sent it back and gave me a brand new one. Wow. Never thought they would do something like that. The original guy that I had purchased my glasses from no longer worked there after a while (I later bumped into him at Theory in south coast plaza, where he was working as assistant manager) and eventually the majority of the people I knew there kept switching out. The guy that helps me out now, his name is Tommy. Look for him cause he'll do wonders for you. There's also another guy named Jason who was transferred to the Beverly Hills location and he was also really great too. Anyways, a couple months back I had accidentally bent my glasses in half (jammed between the door and I didn't realize it was there) and at first I was amazed at how pliable they were. Normally if they were just normal plastic frames it would have snapped but they just bent in half. I took them to the store and they fixed it for me on the spot. It still needs a bit of adjustment though so I'll be sending them out at some point this week or next. I also have a pair of polarized tortoise shell Whitehall sunglasses which are super comfy and fits my frame well. Of all the places that I have been to, this place is the absolute best service wise and after service wise. Even if you aren't buying, just go in and take a look if you're near one. As far as I know the only stores available in California is the one in Beverly Hills in LA and the Fashion Island Newport location. Probably the sickest glasses known to man, it's no wonder they are a favorite among celebrities and style icon's. I have the Grandmaster 2's and just bought the 4's for my brother for his birthday. Look them up, there's only 1000 of them in the world and they are so meticulously detailed that they should be in an art exhibit. I work with high end products and really appreciate the caliber of craftsmanship that it takes to make something so special. Bobby helped me make the purchase and was really patient. He laid out 5 or 6 highly recommended pairs for me to look at, I called ahead of time and let him know which styles I was considering. Purchased Dita Condor sunglasses a few years ago & brought them here on 5/7 to have someone take a look at them because the lens popped out. The person who helped me provided no help & told me they would need to be sent out for repair which would be half the cost of the sunglasses. I insisted the only thing wrong was a loose screw. I then took the sunglasses to a local repair place where they fixed the "issue" for next to no cost. If you have Dita sunglasses requiring repair, take them elsewhere.
