This review is long overdue. I have been purchasing glasses from OC. Eye Design since 2017. They have a variety of frame options. My two favorite brands are Lafont and Anne & Valentin. They are both made in France and not readily available at all places. High quality frames with fun designs. The customer service is friendly and helpful. Upon placing an order, it takes about two weeks for the glasses to be ready. They also have reasonably priced lenses if you need to replace a pair in current frames without going through insurance. read more

Excellent team of highly qualified Optometrists. Excellent service and assistance. Highly professional. Only concern is getting a bill for $240 after insurance for eye exam (including glasses and contact lenses evaluations). I have never experienced such a high fee. The doctors and staff are very helpful and all seem good. However, be prepared for a wait if you come in to order glasses. One employee is at lunch and one is busy with someone else. UPDATE: I was seen and Elena, who is awesome, helped me select glasses. Jamie at the front desk got her off lunch early due to my frustration and was super nice. This was my first vision exam and I wasn't sure what to expect, but Dr. Alissa Wald and her team made me feel completely comfortable from the moment I walked in. The visit was one of the most thorough I've ever had. They listened, answered my questions, and explained everything clearly. With so many testing options available, I felt like I received the most thorough and tailored exam possible. They also went over pricing upfront so there were no surprises. I should know once you have a bad experience that it's not ever going to change. I tried to give this company another shot. I got a pair of computer glasses with frames & am very happy with them. I had my favorite pair of sunglasses & asked if they could replace the lenses which were scratched. They quoted me just over $200 for a non prescription lens which seemed a bit high but I went with it. My computer glasses came back nicely but unfortunately the sunglasses had a separation between the solid frame & the animal print exterior. I understood they were not responsible for the frame but when I messaged them to assist I was told, sorry we don't have glue & can't help. I just spent over $800 & you're not willing to help fix me fix the frames I just spent over $200 for new lenses? Just crappy & the reason I was disappointed in your services 4 or 5 years ago. Shame on me for giving you another opportunity! DONE! Not again. You all ruined what was a good experience up to this. Very disappointing. You couldn't help with this simple fix...remove the lens, glue this back in & put the lens back in? Appreciate the lack of service & can assure you it will never use your services again. I have spent several thousands of dollars at your company over the last 8 or 9 years & I'm disgusted. read more

Terrible experience for a new customer! My husbands appointment was scheduled for 3:00 for his first eye exam. We were 8 minutes late and were told that we would have to reschedule because we were late (8 minutes). They proceeded to take our insurance info and said we could be seen after the next appointment who was coming in at 3:15. So we waited while I filled out the new patient paperwork and the lady that was supposed to come at 3:15 was 15 minutes late and nothing was said to her except hi how are you, go right in. I was astonished! Completely unprofessional and rude. You would think we would've been treated better for being a new customer. We left and will take our business elsewhere. I walked in, saw the selection, was greeted by a friendly, professional staff member and got that feeling 'I've come to the right place.' Haven't had my eyes checked since i got Lasik almost 3 years ago. This place is a minute away from my house which is very convenient. The whole process was a breeze and i got new cute glasses for me to wear when driving since my eyes will never be 20/20. Staff are friendly and the whole store/office is very clean. read more

You'd think this place would make an attempt to repair a hinge if paying for lenses to be placed in a frame. Frame was purchased from them a few years ago prior to cerveza sickness so can't tell me that you don't service frames not purchased from you. So here we have new lenses, in a semi damaged hinge that you just assume should now be used like a regular pair of glasses - You be the judge, is this great service to justify your pricing ? I have a very complex perscription for my lenses. My issues are that I need progressive lenses that are extra thin since my sight is so bad, plus I need them to correct my astigmatism. The other factor (which is ongoing) is that I am in need of very sharp vision for doing photography and photo editing. OC EYE DESIGNS are experts! They have been so patient with me over the last few years in trying to find the right combination of lenses and frames that will work with my career needs. Rolando and everyone there are so courteous and take their craft as serious as I take my craft - and really appreciate them! Even when the lenses came back, the optic curve was just slightly off center and they totally understood and resent the lenses to be made again. I so appreciate that they understand that - some other companies look at you like you're crazy and say "that's just the way it is, deal with it". Not these guys, very courteous and remeasure everything, how the frame sits on your face, the space between the eye and lense...all of it! The only down side, is (as with most companies these days,) the frames are very inflated/ and expensive and the lenses are very high. Even with some insurance. It's a big investment. Started going here in 2017 when I moved to Orange County. It was good then - got some frames, good overall experience, service, etc. I returned back this week and they have gone from good to GREAT! Without going into my whole story --I have an eye disease called keratoconus for which I had surgery on a decade ago in the Bay Area. Since then, I haven't received a lot of quality advice on what to do proactively in regards to new procedures/tech that have become avail as well as everyday lifestyle solutions to "slow the vision changes". With that said, I got all my questions answered by Dr. Sieve as his advice was on point and clearly communicated. I also appreciate the KC BBQ recommendations and the Steph Curry knowledge. I really wish we could give more stars, but both my husband and I were highly disappointed by our experience so far. The only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars and not one is that the optometrist was very nice but I can't say that for his staff. The blond lady at the front was sassy, like she was trying to be nice but comes off fake and rude. My husband and I went in both on the same day but different times to accommodate our busy schedule. I had a morning appointment and he had an afternoon appointment. Since I cover the insurance for my family, I had the lady at the front take my HSA credit card information to charge my husbands glasses. For some reason this did not happen and they demanded a deposit from my husband or they wouldn't order his glasses. He then had to pay it out of his own pocket. The next day I called in to complain and Rolando told me, oh sorry I didn't see the note in the file and if we wanted a refund on the deposit, my husband was to return to the office with his debit card. In the meantime, they gave me a couple days worth of contacts to try out and said they would order more till my follow-up appt the following week... but of course that didn't happen and I had to go back using my old contacts. At my follow-up appt I ended up ordering a years worth of contacts and paid for the balance of my husbands glasses, requesting that the receipts be emailed to me... of course that didn't happen. I had to email them a week later and request the receipts so I could submit it to my HSA provider. Then my husband gets a call after waiting 2 weeks for his new glasses with a new prescription.. the glasses came in with a scratch and they would have to order a new pair and he has to wait another 2 weeks!!! My husband asked them to expedite it and they said no, sorry there is nothing they can do about it. So as you can see, not impressed at all. Maybe it's bad luck, bad timing...idk. But we are considering switching optometrists. read more

Today I met Dr. Shahi for the first time and she examined me and my two young daughters. She was very thorough, knowledgable, and kind. It was a wonderful appointment, and I really appreciated how much time she spent with us. The other staff members were very helpful and friendly too. Dr. Ansarinia is so kind and caring. I can't explain how hard it is for me to find an optometrist that will take their time to help me with my complex eye problems. I wear sclera contacts and have been almost impossible to fit. Not only do I wear them with comfort now but I am seeing better than I have in years. She never gave up on me and never asked me to settle or told me that's the best it was going to get. The girls at the front desk were friendly and knowledgeable. Overall great experience. I tend to be hard on glasses and when I've gone back to get them adjusted, I'm always greeted with a smile and treated as someone special. This place was horrible I've never had such a bad experience before. Renee helps me and has the worst customer Service I have ever experienced. She continually rolled her eyes at me and spoke down to me and repeated the phrase " I work at LensCrafters for 13 years" at least three times. When I did get my sun glasses(two weeks later) they came back horrible. They were not dark like I asked, as well as the tint had been cut off the edges of the lenses. I informed Renee of this and her first response was "well I didn't tint them" finally she agreed to send them back. Today after another two week i got to pick up my glasses and they are worse then before. I would never recommend this place to anyone read more

I never feel rushed during my exam, and each doctor I've seen has gone above and beyond to go over any concerns or issues I've had with my eyes, even for something as simple as mild seasonal allergies. I've been a patient with this office since they were near the Coco's Restaurant across Harbor Blvd. Dr. Wald's first practice. Long story short, my online, confirmed appointment was double booked and without notification I was unable to get in and turned away at the door. Alysa Wald and her team have been my optometrist for approximately 9 years. All of the staff are professional, thorough and courteous. They are forthcoming about what is and isn't covered under my insurance plan as well, so no surprises at the end. Nice selection of frames and sunglasses to purchase, although more frames than sunglasses. They are doing an excellent job of staying safe through temp checks, minimizing bodies in the space, and distancing where possible during Covid as well. read more
