I got EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) done by Dr. Feinerman about 10 months ago and I'm extremely happy with the results! When I went in for a consult, I was unfortunately not a good candidate for LASIK. Dr. Feinerman suggested another procedure called EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) that I was a good fit for. Despite the higher cost compared to LASIK, I was totally on board. I scheduled my surgery appointment afterwards and I was given instructions on how to prepare for the procedure (I had to put eye drops in beforehand). The surgery center Dr. Feinerman used was in Tustin (Barranca Surgery Center). I had a very early appointment and I didn't have to wait too long. The procedure took what felt like 10 minutes, but could have been way longer (the anesthesia worked like a charm!). I had my sister drive me home, there is no way you should try to drive yourself home after getting this done!! Immediately after the surgery, my vision had a noticeable improvement, with sensitivity to light. Over the next 3 months, my vision stabilized and I don't have dry eyes as often anymore. Felt called to make this review but I had a great experience at Feinerman vision when I got my lasik almost 3 years ago in April or may 2022. It was quick, well explained, really kind staff and post surgery was very happy with the results and how my vision was so clear! I'm just sad to say now, not even 3 years later I find my vision blurry at night again when driving as well as now that I'm back in a classroom setting sometimes I have a hard time seeing the front of the boards. So much so I feel I'm about ready to call my optometrist and have a check in and see if a prescription is necessary. I highly recommend this lasik surgery place to everyone and anyone who asks. Thanks to Dr. Feinerman and the team for a great LASIK experience. I'm one day post-op and my eyes feel pretty great considering it got blasted with a bunch of lasers haha. I can see 20/15 now which is also awesome. One thing I really appreciate about this clinic is that they are not afraid to turn away bad candidates for lasik. Dr. Feinerman emphasizes this in his consultation and it definitely made me feel at ease knowing I truly was a good candidate for the procedure. I also appreciate how he's not afraid to call out the other unethical practices he regularly sees in other lasik clinics. One example is how other clinics will essentially consider anyone a good candidate for lasik, even if they truly aren't. To top it off the price was extremely fair, comparable to basically any other lasik clinic and they were nice enough to match their Groupon price for me too which allowed me to make use of my FSA funds for the procedure. You will need to pay in advance of the operation so be aware of that. I recently did an EVO ICL procedure with Dr. Feinerman. The overall experience from consultation, pre-surgery checkups, to procedures day has been 10/10. The office staff and environment is also 10/10. I have a pretty high prescriptions in both eyes with astigmatism. Wearing glasses and contacts lenses has been annoying and uncomfortable for me so I decided to finally get it done. Before coming to Dr Feinerman, i did also went to another place called coastal vision that was referred by my eye doctor. But the experience was bad. The consultation and pre checkups were so fast that I feel uncertain if they did a thorough examination or not. I also did not get to meet the doctor who will be operating and they told me I will just wait to see him on the surgery day. Okay - that does not feel reassuring to me and also the consultation felt more like a sales meeting than a eye exam. So I decided to do my own research and came across Dr Feinerman's office. Had an amazing experience at Feinerman Vision!! From start to finish, everything was so seamless and staff were always so great and accommodating . Being someone in healthcare, I have limited time with taking work off. When I initially went to another location for consultation, they wanted to split my vision assessment into two visits, one without dilation and one with dilation. I really appreciated that this office did both assessments on same day appointment and save my time. I also felt like the optometrist, Sally, was the most thorough out of the other places I received consultation (won't name them here). At the other location, they weren't able to get the perfect vision assessment and chalked it up to my vision not being able to be perfect at baseline due to maybe astigmatism. When I came here, Sally did such an amazing job, she was so detail oriented and thorough. Made sure I had enough eye drops to keep my eyes moist and also made sure the equipment was out of the way of my lash extensions to get the most accurate assessment. It didn't feel rushed and she did an amazing job answering all of my questions. On the day of surgery, Dr. Feinerman calmed my nerves a lot by waking me through the entire procedure. He counted down the seconds left on each eye during the procedure so I knew how long it would take. He gave me positive affirmation and was telling me that I was doing great throughout the procedure which was very appreciated. There was slight pressure however no pain at all. After the procedure; he gave me his phone number to contact him if I had any questions. My vision now is 20/15 (better than 20/20). I was on the fence, like anyone should be about an elective procedure about your eyes. Besides, it hardly seemed worth it at my age... But, I had too many instances where I was caught after dark with nothing but subscription sunglasses to help navigate a safe passage. The last straw saw me literally in the middle of a California desert on a cloudy night. I'm talking dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Pitch black with a distinct lack of cell service after Google Maps led me astray. I only had underwatted incandescent headlamps perpendicularly illuminating a 4-foot wide rutted out dirt path between dead brush, leading to tire-swallowing sand, and a gas gauge with hunger pains... I was at least 40 miles away from the electrical grid, tired, hungry, mad... and all seen through the lenses of dark grey tinted sunglasses, that fell off my nose anytime the tires met severe changes in terrain elevation, of which were many, all because I was ill prepared for the chain of events that led up to it. Not exactly a life or death scenario, but a wake up call; I never wanted to be dependent on prescriptionally based vision again. That in an emergency I could leave the house at the darkest hour for any reason and be able to drive. I think this is important, especially during these volitive days of uncertainty. I was only where I was due to unforeseen consequences, which anyone can attest seem to be trending more frequently year after year. Anyway, call me picky but I'm not one to 'pin the tail on the donkey' when it comes to evaluating eye specialists. I research everything, much to the dismay of anyone dependent on me to make a decision on anything. It didn't take long to find him - He's at the top of the charts for a reason. Staffed with kind, pretty faces and efficiency to match, I knew I was at the right appointment. Dr. Feinerman is the real deal. He let me know that with my particular condition there would be a trade-off; I would be sacrificing some near field vision in order to gain the glasses-free environment anywhere else. And that pharmacy bought "readers" would be the new glasses I needed for reading fine text. But that eventually, through age I would need them anyway. I sat on it for a couple of months, because beyond the literal dangers of lasers carving your eyes, there was in my case the potential life style shift in adjusting from very near sightedness where reading books, computers, and phones were effortless without glasses to, as it turns out, just keeping them at arms length being comfortable enough to do the same. It just so happened that in my case I was looking to curb some bad habits anyway. I was constantly on my phone. And I wondered if it was at a consequence of being so near-sighted\... like a literal comfort zone. The jury is still out, but I am on my phone less. Anyways, I talked to people my age and older who felt the same way I did and never got the procedure. Risk is a young person's game, etc. I said F it and I'm glad I did. Feinerman is a boss. He's precisely the guy you would want to deal with in regards to the sensitive nature of your eyeballs. It's not 1996 anymore and complications are a rarity reserved for fear mongering headlines only. It's been perfected to a slam dunk these days.
