I went to Dr.Joseph because I had some old under eye filler (from another doctor)that had migrated and left a ridge on my upper cheeks. Dr Dr. Joseph dissolved the filler and after a month he preformed a chemical peel with a small amount of restylene contour on my left cheek. I was referred to Dr. Joseph from my ophthalmologist, along with two other plastic surgeons, all of whom specialized in ophthalmic surgery. I investigated all three surgeons on line and chose Dr. Joseph because of his credentials and his staff, which I found to be very welcoming and professional. My initial consult went very well and I was told I would benefit from a bilateral upper blepharoplasty to remove excess eyelid skin. Our family has a history of looking like we are always squinting and its only gotten worse with age. I decided on the upper eyelid blepharoplasty with the option of doing a brow lift at a later date. The surgery was done in the doctors office and was very straightforward. I found Dr. Joseph and his staff to be very skilled and they took very good care of me. I went home a couple hours later with straightforward instructions for after care and didn't have any complications. I returned two weeks later to have stitches removed, then a few months after that for my final consult. I am extremely pleased with the results, both in how open my eyes are now and in how my peripheral vision has improved. I'm sure any of the three surgical referrals I received from my ophthalmologist would have done a good job, but I can only speak for Dr. Joseph and his staff. Their work was excellent! I had to write this review to share how much I appreciate Dr. Joseph's skill, attentiveness, and quality care. I went to see Dr. Joseph hoping he would be able to make a "Correction" on my upper eye lids. The results were the best possible considering he had to make my eyelids even again. Before finding Dr. Joseph I had an eyelift with fat grafting by a plastic surgeon. At the time I was given the option of fat or no fat when having the eyelid lift procedure. In no way do I blame the surgeon and still admire him to this day however I learned afterwards how fat grafting results are unpredictable as the fat moves around. I've waited a long time to post this review, as I wanted to give my eyelid at least 10 months to fully heal. Unfortunately, it turns out I waisted $2k+ on my ptosis surgery here and will need to fork out another 2-3k on another surgery (with someone else). My eyelid was barely lifted. I just took a before photo with another doctor and my eyelid is still incredibly droopy. Dr Joseph didn't want to perform another surgery because he was concerned of overcorrecting it, but the doctor I'm talking to now said it would be a careless mistake to overcorrect something like this, and the fix is simple. But also another few thousand out of my pocket. I wish I had done more research and scheduled more consults initially - such a waste of money. Because of this, I can't recommend this doctor for correcting ptosis. read more

I had been thinking about doing my upper eyelids for quite a while, especially because my right eyelid was drooping more and more every year. I was referred to Dr. Joseph by one of Dr. Joseph's current patients after I suffered a horribly botched eye surgery performed at the hands of Dr. Weiss of Newport Beach. Dr. Joseph was very honest with me regarding the damage (that Weiss had done to my eyes) which was causing horribly painful dry eyes and a twitching right eyelid. (Weiss had surgically sewn the lower lid out of contact with the sclera by pulling the lower lid away from the sclera with his sloppy stitches, something no reputable ophthalmologist would EVER do. ) Dr. Joseph advised me on some methods I could use in an attempt to manage a little comfort, but he stated he could not repair the damage that had been done to my eyelids. I very much appreciate Dr. Joseph's honesty and I trust his medical opinion immensely. His bedside manner was thoughtful and caring, too. A doctor who has his/or her patient's best interest in mind will only suggest surgery as a last resort, even though surgery is far more lucrative than providing an office visit to give advice. read more

I had Blepharoplasty procedure by Dr Joseph fall of 2022. The procedure was recommended by Dr Steinman of Yorba Linda during my annual checkup. I had heavy eyelids and sometimes would open my eyelids with my fingers just to see the tv. The surgery is basically painless with the exception of the initial application of anesthesia. I've made many poor decisions in my life but choosing Dr. Joseph to do my eye surgery was thankfully not one of them! I only wanted a Surgeon who specialized in eye surgery. I also met with another eye surgeon but my gut told me that Dr. Joseph was the one. I just knew that I was in the most capable hands. Two other Surgeons had also recommended him to me. I had upper and lower blepharoplasty, temporal brow lift, and chemical peel to lower eyelids. I did not want to look "overdone" or have that "surprised" look that I have seen. He is an expert; technically skilled, experienced, knowledgable, and professional. He is also respectful, down to earth, and kind. I took Tylenol a couple of times, but honestly, I only took it before bed just in case I had discomfort during the night. After much research, I decided to fly in from Nashville to have both by upper and lower lids done by doctor Joseph. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I'm about 6 weeks out from my surgery on December 30th. Dr. Joseph was very professional and detail oriented. His bedside manner was perfect! Christin kept tabs on me every step of the way, including post surgery. The morning of the surgery, they took all my vitals, walked me into the surgery room, I fell asleep really quickly (although I remember being woken up while in the middle of a crazy dream) and next thing you know they were helping me into the car. The first day, I didn't look so bad but the second day all of the bruising appeared. That lasted for several days. All-in-all, pretty painless.
