As a beginning, I want to be honest about everything that happened to me and share my full experience. In January, I had a labiaplasty performed by Dr. Deborah Ekstrom, MD. After the surgery, she prescribed pain medication (Oxycodone HCl IR 5 mg capsules) for five days. During that time, I had severe constipation and had to go to the ER. On March 3, I went back for a follow-up appointment. During that visit, Dr. Ekstrom also injected hyaluronic acid filler into my labia majora, which cost $1,600. Before the procedure, I asked the doctor if there were any negative side effects and how long the results would last. She told me there were no negative side effects and that the results would last a long time. However, the same day I started feeling something hard, like a small stone. The next day I felt itching and noticed redness. Day by day it became worse. The redness increased, the itching continued, and the area started to look uneven -- the left side looked larger than the right. On March 11, I texted the office manager, Jo Cattell. She was very kind and asked if I wanted to come in that day to see the doctor. I said yes. When I saw Dr. Ekstrom, I first showed her pictures of the redness. She said the pictures looked worse than what she was seeing in person. She also said the redness and swelling might be caused by using an ice pack. However, I do not believe this is the cause. After my labiaplasty surgery, I used ice packs and never had this problem. The symptoms started the same day after the filler injection. I also explained that it hurts when I go to the bathroom. I asked if the filler could be removed, but she told me she could not treat the area right now because it looked like an allergic reaction and that further treatment would cost additional money. She prescribed medication for me to pick up at the pharmacy. I am sharing my full experience because I do not want this to happen to another patient. I work hard for my money, and I do not want to waste it on something that made me feel worse. I do like the results of my labiaplasty, but I do not like the filler injection. It looks uneven and has caused discomfort and illness. If a procedure cannot be done safely, it is better to be honest with patients. People trust their doctors, and I was one of those patients. For fairness, I want to mention that the clinic was very clean. The drive time for me was 1 hour and 40 minutes. Also, two weeks after the surgery I initially left a five-star review. My advice to others is not to write a review until you have had the full experience. Finally, I went to the ER again on March 14, 2026 because my labia majora became worse, with severe itching and swelling. I could not sleep because of the discomfort. Lip Lift & Scar Revision Gone Terribly Wrong In November 2022, I went to this doctor for a lip lift surgery. Before the procedure, I asked if he would draw guidelines on my face to ensure symmetry. His exact response was, "I've done thousands of these. No need to draw on your face." Unfortunately, he ended up cutting diagonally and lifting the wrong side of my lip -- lifting the right instead of the left. This left me with a noticeably crooked, slanted lip. Over the next two and a half years, multiple other doctors even asked if I'd had a stroke because of how uneven my mouth appeared when I spoke. When I returned to show him the results years later, instead of taking responsibility, he repeatedly deflected. He compared my face to crooked ears and eyebrows people are "born with," and even asked me if I was on bipolar medication and whether I had been taking it -- a comment that felt dismissive and irrelevant to the surgical issues I was raising. I explained that my nose and lips were not this crooked before the surgery. I originally sought this procedure only to avoid having to get injections -- not to drastically change my face. He performed a second surgery, a scar revision, which made things even worse. On the right side, he removed part of my nostril, leaving it small and round; on the left side, he reshaped it into a long oval. Now my right nostril collapses, making it hard to breathe. The itching and discomfort, even 2 1/2 months later, are intense and constant. This experience has affected my appearance, my breathing, and my confidence. I am sharing my story so others can make a fully informed decision before choosing this provider. To your response Dr. Bunkis I did try to bring my concerns to you. I even told you that I was in fear of you repairing the first surgery because of the lack of professionalism and technic. And you immediately pointed out that my ears, eyebrows and nostrils are crooked at birth, that I should accept my nose now being disfigured (Half of my entire left nostril has been cut off). It's the one feature on my face (crooked or not) that I loved. You have not taken any accountability for that. I did so much research on a lip lift surgery. It does NOT change the structure of your nose. I tried to bring this to your attention. You made me feel very bad which brought me to tears. Hello, I am so disappointed with the final results of my lower blepharoplasty that I had done back in Sept of 2024 with Dr Juris Bunkis. I waited years to have this done because I was so insecure about my eye bags and I tried everything but nothing worked die to my genetics. So I saved and saved for almost a year to be able to afford this procedure. It cost around $4,500. I did a lot of research and saw that Dr Juris ans his clinic had good reviews so I booked my apt. Everyone was very nice 8mcludijf the Dr. However I wish I would have never got the procedure done because now I just have sunken in and a hallow look under my eues because too much fat was taken out. Come to find out the best way to have this procedure done is to also have fat repositioning done as well in order to avoid this hallow look. Instead of feeling confident and more secure with myself I feel worse then I did when I had the bags. My family, friends and coworkers as me if I've lost weight or if I'm getting enough sleep. I've visited the office a few times since the procedure to state how I feel and the Dr just said I looked great and that most people would be happy with these results since the bags are basically gone. He added a very small amount of filler twice but that did absolutely nothing so he said the next step would be to have some fat taken out of my stomach and injected in the hallow area. When I asked him how much that was going to cost me he said to speak to his assistant and that she will put together a treatment plan for me. To have that done would cost me another $3,600!! I could barely afford the lower blepth, let alone an additional cost of $3,600. I feel so defeated right now and made to feel like I don't matter. I would think twice if you are thinking about having this procedure done at this office. I wish I would have paid the extra $3,000 and went with a surgeon that has more experience with these type of procedure. Definitely recommend having a lower blepth w/ a fat transfer done. I had a deeply disappointing experience at Orange County Plastic Surgery. I went in for a full tummy tuck, having clearly explained to Dr. Bunkis that I was already in shape -- my stomach was flat and toned. I just needed loose skin removed and abdominal muscle repair (diastasis recti) after having three children. Instead, he performed a mini tummy tuck, which was not what I agreed to, and still charged me for the full procedure. Not only did he fail to remove the excess skin, but the muscle repair was never done. I feel misled, overcharged, and completely let down. I also requested an African American rhinoplasty, which Dr. Bunkis claimed he could do. Unfortunately, after healing, there was no visible difference in my nose whatsoever. It's now been a year, and instead of being proud of my results, I am having to look for another surgeon to correct and redo what was supposed to be finished. I tried to move on, but after spending over $20,000, I feel it's my responsibility to warn others -- especially women of color -- to do their due diligence. Did extensive research but choosing Dr Bunkis was truly the worst decision in my entire life. He disfigured me and had to seek out another surgeon to correct the damage done. I absolutely love Dr Bunkis. He gave me a consult and I went to serval surgeons and he best suited me. I had a facelift, necklift,brow lift, and upper bleph a year later he did a neck revision and a phenol peel, he waived his fee in the necklift revision also. I feel like my face looks so much younger. I took pictures throughout my entire journey (one year and 7 months so far). My eyes open more and look more youthful. My forehead had deep wrinkles which are now very light. My jowls and marionette lines are far less and I like what I see when I look in the mirror. NEGLIGENT SURGEON - HE NEEDS HIS LICENSE TAKEN AWAY! Dr. Bunkis, I'd like you to know I had to remove the implants you and Dr. Forsberg put in only 7 years ago.They were not only severely deformed looking, but also leaking silicone and causing tremendous pain.I just paid yet another $10,0035 to have them removed. My new, experienced doctor and I would both like to know why in the hell did both of you remove ALL of my breast tissue, leaving me NOTHING under my nipples. For SEVEN years I have had deformed breasts, and now they look even worse with this explant, due to not having any breast tissue since you both removed it superfluously. Unbelievable. You guys really didn't know what you were doing, and from reading your poor reviews, you obviously still don't. And BTW, that was AFTER the massive hematoma I had from you doing a negligent job, TRYING UNSUCCESSFULLY, to do a forehead lift, to no avail. Unbelievable! I've never been in so much pain. I will never go anywhere else. Even if I move to the other side of the earth, I'll be coming back here for any and all treatments. I thank god and my lucky stars for Dr. Compoginis and the office staff. I came in with an absolutely horrifying scar that stole months out of my life and changed my perception of myself forever (** see my other reviews). I had consultations with 10 different doctors before I came to this office and I was quoted upwards of literally tens of thousands of dollars to fix it. Some recommended year-long, invasive and risky treatments - or that I couldn't be helped. I went to Dr. C and he fixed it in a matter of one visit for a fraction of what I was quoted with no downtime. He wasn't trying to get me to overspend or try all these different medspa treatments like the others I consulted with suggested (one even recommended threads - YIKES). He was truly trying to help me. I was referred to Dr. Bunkis by one of my clients who had a tummy tuck done and her results were fabulous! She had nothing but great things to say about his office and staff. So, with much consideration I felt the need to check his office out. I have been wanting to get a few things done anyways so I took the plunge. From the moment I called the office and spoke with Katie it was a very easy process. They were able to get me in quick and I was able to see Dr. Bunkis about all my concerns. He was attentive and straightforward. He was honest about the potential results. No sugarcoating which I liked. I went ahead and put my deposit in after I had the free consultation and booked my surgery. I ended up getting chin lipo, and a chin implant per Dr. Bunkis suggestion. With just lipo under my chin, the desired result would not happen unless I got the help of a new chin which would add the proper structure to my face. I am so very pleased with my results. I am confident now with my side profile. It has even helped with my TMJ. Which is a huge plus! One downside is... I still do not have feeling on my right side a little bit. Some nerves probably did get damaged in surgery but with time I'm sure I'll get the feeling back. I would recommend Dr. Bunkis. He is safe, he is great. He is so knowledgeable. 10/10!! Waste of money and pain. Had full facelift in December 2022 and 3 years later I look worse than I did before surgery. Four weeks out of surgery my turkey neck came back. I new it would because the skin tucked behind my right ear after surgery was not nearly the same as behind my left, and sure enough the slack in my neck was on the right side. Chipmunk cheeks never was addressed, When I was wheeled into the surgery room it was 1 pm, (never have surgery after noon, doctors are tired and nurses impatient.) They thought I was asleep but I was not. I looked over my shoulder and there was still surgery tools on the op tool table with blood from the previous patient. Nurse saw that I saw it and she hit the hypodermic with more sleep med to knock me out. When I took the bandages off a few days later my ears and hair were full of blood, like they didnt even clean me up. By 4 pm I was done and they rushed me out the door because they wanted to go home. Later the doctor offered to fix it but I was not about to go under the knife again with him or his staff, Saw another doctor and he told me what they did wrong; said my skin was very loose, (this was about one year later). I've been wanting a rhinoplasty for so many years, and I only wish I would've found Dr. Bunkis sooner!!! He is such an exceptional and skilled doctor, evident through his work -- my results included!! I also got abdomen liposuction during this same procedure. Him and all of the team at OCPS really made everything so incredibly smooth throughout the whole process. Katie has also been very amazing from the very start of everything. I don't think I ever had any questions about any information or instructions given to me because she was always so explicit and clear! Even up to the very morning I had the surgery, Dr. Bunkis came by to see me and talk to me beforehand, along with the amazingly comforting anesthesiologist, Dr. Becker, and then Katie came by separately shortly after from next door ... all of them to make sure my nerves were put to ease!! I appreciated that they made these efforts to ensure I felt as comfortable as possible going into the procedure. That's the kind of hospitality you don't find just anywhere!! It certainly went a long way for me and I was / am so grateful for it. I had never done any type of surgery before, so I was the most nervous not only about going under, but feared I would bruise terribly after the rhinoplasty (like the common "raccoon eye" bruising).... but I had none of that!! Even just one week post-op, you literally would've never known I had a full rhinoplasty the week before. For me, that's crazy because I'm nearly anemic, and constantly bruise myself SO much easier in my daily life doing the most mundane things (no joke). So that was a huge plus there!! Not to mention that I cried the moment he took my nose cast off for the big reveal. He really gave me the ideal nose I've always wished for and I was SO happy to see such an immediate difference. Even considering that the residual swelling takes around 6 months to fully subside!! I can't imagine how much better my nose will look then...not to mention my liposuction results as well! The abdomen liposuction itself was actually a little more difficult (pain-wise) after the surgery then the rhinoplasty, surprisingly -- but even then, not by a whole lot. It's only really the first 2-3 days because your range of motion is a little less, as you are really sore. It feels like an ab workout of a lifetime, lol. I was overall very shocked but impressed at how little pain I felt post-op still!! Although I'm slim, I always had a slight pudge in my very lower abdomen area despite a having good diet and exercising often, and Dr. Bunkis did a stellar job eliminating that area as well. Right now, I have a bit more healing to do and I'm a little way to go before all my swelling fully reduces, but there's already such a noticeable smoothness in that area than before!! Very telling of the type of quality you get with Dr. Bunkis :) Thank you a ton, Dr. Bunkis -- words cannot even fully express my satisfaction!!! I can't wait to have the perfect nose I always wanted, just in time for my big wedding day later this year! And literally just in general!!! Dr. C and his staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND all expectations for my rhinoplasty. Dr. C always made me feel heard and like my opinion mattered, never tried to undermine me or seemed impatient with my questions, and always explained things in a way that I understood. Amazing demeanor and bedside manner, but also very well versed in his field and knowledgeable about his craft. His staff was friendly and helpful every time I went in as well; wonderful ladies!!
