I had a consultation with Dr. Yoo that I ultimately found very disappointing. From the beginning, the interaction did not feel very collaborative or thorough for a cosmetic surgery consultation. What stood out most was that I was not asked any questions about my goals, concerns, or preferences. I expected a more guided conversation where the surgeon would take time to understand what I was looking for, but instead I felt like I had to lead the discussion myself. During the consultation, I was often met with brief responses and frequent transitions to "any more questions" immediately after answering, which made it difficult to fully process the information being shared. Because of that, I often had to push for more detail. His answers were generally brief, and I found myself asking multiple follow-up questions just to get basic clarity. The consultation also felt rushed, and there was limited effort to slow down or ensure I fully understood what was being explained or why certain recommendations were being made. At times, when I asked additional questions, the responses came across as dismissive or impatient, which made the interaction uncomfortable. I was also told I was getting ahead of myself when asking about pre- and post-operative planning, which discouraged me from trying to understand the full process before making a decision. I recently had gotten lip filler from Dr. Yoo and there is an air bubble-like pocket of superficially placed filler on one side of my lower lip. I had to research what had occurred in order to realize that it was not swelling, but however really poorly placed lip filler. After paying over 1k for both the consultation and procedure all my expectations were terribly unmet. He gave a poor experience, not clearly addressing the desired outcome, and did not give any instructions for aftercare. After the procedure was done he basically just said "you can do whatever you want" when I asked what to do for any aftercare. I left the clinic with blood still smeared all over my lips. I highly regret paying over $1k just to receive poorly placed filler and a poor experienced when I know I could have gotten a much better result for half the price at a medspa. read more

I made sure to call this office ahead of time to ask for a pricing range for a specific surgery I was interested in before booking a consult with Dr. Yoo. I went ahead with the consult less than a week after calling in and was honestly ready to schedule and move forward. But the experience with the front desk completely changed that. Right after the consult, and just a few days after being given a price range over the phone, I followed up to get the official quote and pay for the surgery. That's when I was told the price had gone up $3,000 above the highest end of the range I was originally given. I asked to speak with an office manager to understand what happened and was told she was "too busy" to speak with me. I called and emailed multiple times over the course of two weeks and didn't hear anything back until today. Still, I wasn't able to speak with a manager, they wouldn't honor the original price range, and no refund was offered for the consult. I was also told this is their only line of communication, even after surgery, which made me really uncomfortable. If something came up post-op and I needed help, I can't imagine waiting two weeks for a response. I went in for a breast explant consultation and he does not have a good bedside manner; he didn't even knock before coming into my room. He does not follow best practice for explants and wouldn't do an En Bloc removal and clearly wasn't confident in his ability with this type of reconstruction. I didn't pursue it because I knew he wasn't the one I wanted to work with so I have no idea how much he'd have charged. I had been contemplating on getting a tummy tuck with liposuction for a couple of years and I had gained weight and when I set up my consultation with him I loved how real he was. He told me he could do the tummy tuck but if I wanted better results I could lose 15 more pounds. My starting weight was 220 lbs and I went down to 180 before my surgery and now at 170. Although I can't see the incision points behind my earlobes (for my jawline liposuction), there used to be a bump there but I can no longer feel them. My parents (who were the biggest critics of me getting liposuction) are always so impressed by my liposuction results, whether in-person or via Facetime (which had the worst angles of my double chin pre-surgery). I contacted him last year and told him that I had just had surgery, but he still went ahead and set up the consultation me charged me for the consultation. Afterwards, he said that he couldn't perform surgery on me for another year because I had just had surgery, and that I needed another consultation at that point in time. So now I'm trying to get that second consultation, and I've sent so many emails to the office over the span of a few months, to him and to Mia, and no one responds to my emails. DO NOT GO TO HIM FOR lips filler! He did a terrible job! I spent $1,050 for filler on my upper and lower lips that I've lost over the last 20 years. I'm 53 but when I was in my 20-30's I had fuller lips. I ended up with lumpy lips, one side higher than the other on my upper lip and the other side of my upper lips as well as the bottom lip had this wave thing that was curling up. They were the terrible duck lips that I stated 100% I DID NOT WANT! I had to go through 2 more sessions of the needle pain in my lips and pay $825 to have them desolved to completely start over. I am so glad I found Pure Beauty Med Spa in Newport Beach! Once they were desolved after the 2 treatments, they put filler in. They are beautiful! Hello potential patients of Dr Yoo, It's been about 4 months since I received my septoplasty and lower blepharoplasty surgery (removal of bags under the eyes), and I couldn't be happier. What I appreciated most about Dr Yoo was his transparency and recommendations on how to avoid complications. (I smoke vape, yes I know it's bad). He also threw in a special which was nice since part of the surgery came out of pocket. I intentionally waited to leave a review because I wanted to see how things would develop over time. My sleep has improved tremendously and my meditations are that much better. I highly recommend septoplasty for those who constantly have a stuffy nose and do NOT recommend using Affrin! I've became dependent on it and it started to impact my personal life. Additionally, since I was going into surgery anyway, I thought I'd treat myself with a lower blepharoplasty. I constantly received comments like 'you look tired' or 'did you get enough sleep' which led me to Dr Yoo. Now I look ten years younger and already have received compliments :) Dr Yoo is very responsive and will even respond to email via weekend, and Sheree was great to interact with.
