I believe in transparency. Here you pay $200 to sit in 3 different offices - one to look at a book of old surgery results. The shortest "seating" is with the doc himself. The final "seating" is with the lady who gives you an estimate of $50k for a lower facelift alone - starting price. There's a lot of overhead in this office which may explain why their prices are so much higher than everybody else. I'm not sure you can you can put into words what a PERFECTIONIST DR. AMBE and his staff are. It's so disappointing to see negative reviews.. I have had 4 breast surgeries... I have been botched, lied to and I've had doctors over promise and under deliver... What I can tell you is Ambe is a class act, from The front desk to the consultation all the way to the surgery itself.. I was so so impressed. I had gone on multiple Consultations and every doctor spends about 15-20 minutes with you and says what they need to say and then hurried you out the door because they are onto their next. Ambe spent 45 min with me and answered every question I had and never made me feel like I was wasting his time. What I loved was his honesty and he didn't promise me something he couldn't pretty much guarantee. I'm not one to complain, but when I went in for my consultation I felt good about what Dr Ambe told me I needed to fix my wrinkles. I had told him what bothered me the most is when I smile. The wrinkles under my eyes and cheeks made me not want to smile because it was so bad in that area! He said I needed my upper and lower eyes done. Well my uppers are ok but my lower you can't tell that he did anything to take away my wrinkles that we talked about! He knows I'm not happy and just kept saying when you smile your muscles move and that Botox would fix it. I told him I paid you $8500 so I did not have to keep paying for Botox. I told him then we should have done something else to get rid of my huge problem that bothered me the most!!! He really did not care at all of what I was saying to him. At my 2 month check up I asked one of the nurses if I could get Botox she said she had no time but could do it at my 4 month check up. He is a great surgeon, however his waiting time after your first initial consultation is anywhere from 1 to 3 hours and even then you don't always see him. I did read the reviews prior to going where people complained but I thought how bad could it be. It's very bad. I don't have 3 hours to be in a doctors office because his staff over schedule's people. After the surgery you won't see him because he is drumming up more business and you are a loss leader now. I went to Dr. Ambe for a facelift in 2004. The results were NOT good, although I did not understand at that time that he had caused the issues I had. Dr. Ambe did something which every doctor I have seen since then has said was a terrible mistake. He performed what is known as an obicularis release which was the worst thing he could've done; he cut the obicularis muscles on the outsides of both eyes. So after surgery, the area around the outside of my eyes no longer moved with my face, especially when I smile. All of my cheek skin moves up with my smile but the muscles on the outside of my eyes (the obicularis muscles) are now paralyzed! The skin from my lower eye and cheek just bunch up and hang because the muscles needed to pull that area up were cut...permanently. Thankfully, in 2004, I still had most of my thick beautiful hair (Dr. Ambe cut some of it out doing the facelift) and perfect eyebrows and a perfect forehead. I was getting facials in his office and he kept nagging me that I needed a small revision saying that my neck "fell" and that he could fix the loose skin around my eyes. I did not understand at that time that he had caused the loose skin and it was unfixable. Dr. Ambe finally persuaded me after 2 years (2006) to let him do what he referred to as a "small revision" saying he would fix the loose skin around my eyes. He said he would do 3 very small incisions, one on either side of my face and one at the very top of my head and that he would revise my neck at no charge. I woke up in hell, with staples from ear to ear and two screws on the top of my head, at the front of my scalp. I was in utter agony and in a state of complete shock. He also recommended a nurse who took me to her home; she complained the entire drive there. She said that she had already accepted another patient (who had had a breast augmentation) and that patient had the upstairs bedroom. She only had room for me downstairs in a RECLINER. I had tubes and drains dangling from my face, the swelling was awful and she gave me zero care or attention. No ice, no food, no medication, NOTHING. I cried in the middle of the night, begging for help to get to the bathroom so that I could empty my bladder. She was upstairs. I was ALONE, downstairs in a recliner and I honestly believed that I would die that night. She finally showed up angry with me for waking her up. She took me to the bathroom and that is the ONLY thing she did for me the entire night. She was Dr. Ambe's recommendation. The next day my face was swollen beyond recognition. Dr. Ambe's recommended nurse took me to his office to get the drains removed. He just pulled them out, along with clumps of my hair. I began screaming in pain and he actually said, "Shut up, shut up, other people will hear you." Dr. Ambe obviously didn't want other patients hearing me scream for fear of losing potential business. Dr. Ambe's in-office nurse, at that time, looked horrified. I will never forget the look of shock and pain on her face as he berated me while yanking out the drains. My eyebrows have been uneven ever since. My once big, beautiful eyes look like lizard eyes and my left eye has ptosis, meaning that the upper lid is lower than it should be; it droops. I had to undergo extensive hair transplants from bald spots due to major hair loss from the staples, the screws and Dr. Ambe pulling out my drains without one ounce of caution or care. The trauma to my once beautiful hair was permanent. The scars around my ears and around my eyes, especially my eyes, are obvious. I have had many laser and PRP treatments to reduce the scarring but they were only minimally helpful. Once your eyes are ruined, you no longer look like your former self and you never will. Our eyes truly define our faces more than any other characteristic. I have been to countless plastic surgeons for the past 14 years, especially oculoplastic surgeons, in hopes of getting my beautiful eyes back. Of course, I have also consulted on the other disasters but every single doctor says that the surgery will be tricky and no one will guarantee success. Every single one of them said that doing a revision is very difficult and many have told me that they do not even want to try to fix what Dr. Ambe did to my face. Dr. Ambe actually did an endoscopic brow lift instead of a minor revision. HE DID THE WRONG SURGERY ON ME! In addition to ruining my eyes, he ruined my perfect eyebrows and my perfect forehead which was neither too low nor too high. As a consequence, my face which was always blessedly balanced, looks very long and narrow since the butcher surgery and with age, the narrowness and unnatural length has made me look and continues to make me look years older than I am. There are not enough amazing thins to say about not only Dr. Ambe, but his staff as well! I had always thought about rhinoplasty, but was so scared to think I would ever go through with it. Being that it was going to be on my face, I wanted to be 100% sure that it was exactly what I wanted. A friend of mine suggested Dr. Ambe after he had performed a breast augmentation on her. I had no idea that she had had a breast augmentation, they looked so real! After that I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Ambe and see what he would suggest. I had been to another surgeon before and was so unimpressed by him. Walking into Dr. Ambe's office, my mom and I immediately had a good feeling about it. Besides the long wait, I felt completely at ease when Dr. Ambe came into the room. I didn't say a word as to what I wanted to have him do to my nose, as I wanted to see what he would suggest. Sure enough, everything he said was what I wanted done. I left that appointment so excited for my surgery. I was so nervous the morning of the surgery, but Dr. Ambe's staff at the surgical center was just as wonderful as his office staff. They put me at ease and I couldn't wait to wake up and see my new face. It sounds crazy to say, but I literally had no pain in my nose, head or anything from the surgery. The only pain I experienced was in my throat from the breathing tube, that was more painful than anything. Also, taking the packing out is definitely uncomfortable, but it's a few minutes, and done. It's been almost a year since my surgery and I am SO thrilled with my results. It changed everyday and looks ten times better than today than it did when I first saw it almost a year ago. Dr. Ambe was recommended to me by one of my friends. I met him in 2005 and had a consultation on my procedure. I liked his professional attitude. I am not very demanding, so I had very few requests. My requests were 1) The procedure would not be harmful to my health 2) to be able to nurse after breast augmentation 3) the size of the breast would not interfere with my work and not effect my posture 4) quickest recovery possible so I could return to work ( I need to use my arms for my work). The rest I left in his hands to decide and do, as he is the one with the experience and the medical knowledge. After an unhappy result around my ears following a different surgeon's work, I had a "revision lift" with Dr. Ambe 5 years ago. I chose him because a friend had a lift with him and her ears look good, though in hindsight, I see how I didn't necessarily like how her face looked and continues to look but, at that time, didn't understand this as a reflection of his aesthetic work versus how she looked naturally since I didn't know her before her procedure. My procedure was a disaster in my opinion. My cheeks were made very flat and tight and my lower face left a little heavy to look "natural" but over time it ages me more because my face has grown very narrow and heavy at the corners of my mouth with jowls returning there, at the corners of my mouth, only now very much out of balance with the rest of my face. In addition, my eyes which had always been my best feature, were ruined by his upper blepharoplasty which he said "you'll be sorry" if I didn't have done. He opened my upper lids up too much, in my opinion, and despite my urging prior to surgery that my eyes looked better with age and that a little heaviness was preferred. I have also lost movement at the sides of my face surrounding my eyes (which I just now read about in another reviewer's complaint) and so have to say that this may also contribute to the loss of my subjective sense of my own beauty. When I asked about the heaviness at the corners of my mouth a few months after surgery when the swelling had subsided enough to see it, he literally said to me, "don't pay attention to that.' Ever since my surgery, I have looked very different than before only, unfortunately, not in a good way. The lift has garnered stares from people who knew me prior to the surgery and not in a good way. Based on my direct personal experience, I do not recommend Dr. Ambe. read more

I had a tummy tuck done by Dr Ambe on the first visit after surgery I asked him why I am bloated? I do not see a difference after surgery other than extra skin was removed and one side is different than the other side.Dr. Ambe's response was itself swelling after surgery. none of my friends & family didn't notice a difference & they told me to go see him again and let him know there is no result and feel threw away $15,000 of my hard working money. I went back to him many times complaining and even his nurses were shocked with the results and told me to ask him to fix it. I'd had the same breast implants for 27 years. At the time, the doctor said that they were saline. Back in 1990, silicone was not good. My breasts were fine for many years, although the doctor put in 400cc in each breast and I really didn't want them that big. I'm only 5'1" and 105 pounds. They were just too big for me and as I got older, I got sick of them. They were heavy and I had indentations on my shoulders from my bra. In the last few years, my right breast started to look different and was hard to the touch. I ignored it because I didn't want to spend the money and I didn't feel that it was dangerous since they were saline. Just recently, my breast started looking really bizarre and I saw two breast surgeons. I wasn't impressed with either one. My dermatologist, Dr. Kim Tang, suggested that I consult Dr. Ambe. It turned out to be a Godsend! I told Dr. Ambe what I wanted (very small or no implants at all) but he advised me to get the smallest implants made and to have a breast lift. Well, I had the surgery and guess what? My implants were not saline. They were silicone and it was floating all around in my breast. My implant was completely flat! I was so thankful that I had the surgery done because I would never have known. Dr. Ambe did exactly what he said he would do. He put 125cc in the left breast and 150cc in my right one. This was due to all of the scar tissue he had to remove in the right one. I was in pain for only ONE DAY. Now I am healed and small and I love my body! My new breasts look completely natural and perky. This sounds crazy, but this surgery has changed my life. Unprofessional. I must have been here on the same day as another Yelper (01/12/17). In my case, I arrived at the appointment 15 minutes early having left work early so I would arrive timely. I waited for 1-1/2 hours to see this "doctor". He pretty much rushed the consultation and seems to have a God complex. He couldn't quantify how many mommy makeovers he has done and had a very limited portfolio of before and after patients. The work I did see was substandard. Additionally, he informed me that I need to wear an underwire bra post surgery to shape the breasts. I'm not sure where he comes up with this as the research I have done seems to suggest that a sports bra is what many doctors recommend post-surgery. I visited several plastic surgeons before I made my decision, and I knew right away that Dr. Ambe was my choice. He's warm, thorough, and genuine. I am almost 3 weeks post op, and already so happy with the results. I had a breast augmentation (with a lift on one side). My chest was very uneven and deflated thanks to 2 years of breastfeeding. My goal was not to have a large chest, but to be symmetrical and natural. I have mild pectus excavatum (sunken in chest) so it made the procedure a bit more complicated. So far I'm very pleased with my entire experience (staff, surgery, wait times, etc). I would highly recommend Dr. Ambe! Dr Ambe did an okay job, with what he was dealt and would get five stars had it not been for the surgery center he used. I had to sign a paper on the day of surgery that said if my surgery went over the allotted surgery time I would be charged more money. I think that is information that I needed to have up front. My case was very complicated and took a long time. I was quoted a certain cash price for the surgery center and I took it on good faith that was all I would be charged and was a little more than surprised when asked to sign that paper. At that point I wanted to back out, however I would have lost the rest of my money had I done that. I did not really consider it to be fair business, and mentioned to Dr Ambe that I would appreciate it if he would keep my surgery inside the allotted time therefore not incurring additional costs. Fast forward to the results. My results were okay, not incredible, just okay. My question is this. Would my results have been better had I not asked him to stay within my allotted time frame? Wouldn't my quote cover the best job possible regardless of the time it would take? And wouldn't the time it would take be factored into the cost of the surgery? Why did additional costs have to enter into the equation at the last minute? Isn't this a conflict of interest? Just asking. read more

I have been doing my research. For over 10 years. I did not come to this conclusion nor this decision impulsively. If you choose to proceed with any procedures, do not even think twice about DR. MILIND AMBE. He is the best there is. Coming from a background as an anesthesia provider for plastic surgeons (I am a CRNA), the lens through which I look is magnified. Dr. Ambe and his team are the real deal. I planned a two week stay with family, in Newport Beach. That is what Dr. Ambe requests, and it is in your best interest to just stay put for those 2 weeks. He has concrete reasoning, and I didn't want a hematoma, so I was a couch potato for two weeks. Pre-op work-up is easy peasy. I did it from home and sent the results to his patient care coordinator. She is accessible and communicative. I arrived in Newport, 1 day prior to surgery. I had my pre-op visit, purchased all of the meds I would need, and talked to my anesthesiologist . I arrived at the surgery center bright and early, and tried to be a good patient! The staff was amazing. The IV was painless, the nurses were professional and kind, and the anesthesiologist was reassuring. As soon as I received my pre-op sedative (i am usually on the other end of the syringe) it was Lala land for me and the next thing I knew I was awake and heading out the door with the post-op nurse who would care for me for the first night. What an angel she is! She kept me calm, safe, and comfortable in the comfort of her home, which is perfectly set up for post-op care. Then she brought me back to the office the next morning, where I was assessed by Dr. Ambe's nurse. I went home and proceeded to heal at warp speed. What is amazing is the lack of bruising I had. Everyone was astonished at how good I looked so soon after the procedure. And now I am home, 15 days out and am absolutely thrilled with my results. Making re-entry into my life is fun and I look just like me with a natural, refreshed appearance. No kidding!!!! Dr. Ambe is the master. He is not just a brilliant surgeon, technically, but he is an artist and has an eye and it is stunning how perfect my results are. And I am only 15 days out! Could care less about you if you are actually not a small little rich woman. Terrible tummy tuck. Not flat. Left with a roll and incision is dogeared. Left me with drains for 22 weeks. I had to actually demand to see him in the office which he was not happy about. I found another Dr. who immediately(the next day) fixed the drain problem in his office! This is how I feel about my results. There isn't a morning that goes by that when I put on my make-up, I ask myself why did I ever do this? I have tiny bumps, scars, and holes where the skin was sutured and pulled. After 2 years, the eye wrinkles look the same to me, but now I see the scars, bumps and holes too. I have seen other patients of DR Ambe, that don't have this problem. Just know, that not everyone will have a good experience or good results. Ok, so here's an update: I decided not to use Dr. Ambe again for my third breast surgery. I don't feel Dr. Ambe's solution to fixing capsular contractor is sufficient. I have done a lot of research, and interviewed several doctors all over southern California. I found that the only solution to stopping capsular contractor from coming back, is to completely remove all infected tissue around the implant, and to remove and get rid of the infected implants, replace with new implants, and to use a product called Stratice to ensure the capsular contracture will never come back. Its 99.9% chance with Stratice, the capsular contracture will never come back. Dr. Ambe only breaks the capsule, and that is proven to not be an effective way of stopping capsular contracture. I like Dr. Ambe, and think he's an ok plastic surgeon. But I think he isn't knowledgeable about capsular contractor. So, on my search for a dr. that knows about capsular contractor, I found Dr. Park! He is a dr. in Upland, CA. He specializes in reconstruction, and capsular contractor. My appointment is November 2nd and in so excited to put the past 5yrs of living in pain with capsular contractor behind me. *Also, in my research I found: studies are starting to show that capsular contractor is caused by a bacteria entering your body during surgery.
