Dr.Jacob Reznik and team was absolutely amazing this morning. From the minute I walked in the front desk made me feel welcome and comfortable. I was then taken back where I was put at ease with all the test that was issued.When my eyes were dilated the assistant explain each drop and made me understand what I should feel. This was never done before. When Dr. Reznik came in he also made me feel at ease explained what had happened and why my eye felt the way that they do. I'm a patient advocate and visit countless doctors' offices. Dr. Alena Reznik is one of the most gifted doctors I have ever met. I found her by a recommendation from another excellent ophthalmologist in a different field. I came to her office with a client, who was initially quite stressed and irritable because of severe health challenges. Within just a few appointments. I watched how Dr. Reznik's compassionate care turned my client from a tough patient into a real fan. Every time, doctor took time to make my client feel comfortable, physically and mentally, and addressed our many questions and concerns. She just makes you feel save and respected, which is very important for my client's delicate psyche. It goes without saying, that Dr. Reznik lived up to the high recommendations we received from the referring specialist. My client's intraocular pressure is under control, and she's using eye drops that are least abrasive to her eyes. Our appts. are fully covered by my client's insurance, and we never had any issues with billing. The receptionist is also a pleasure to deal with. Dr Resnik is a caring doctor who understands what the experience of going blind is and how important it is to prevent blindness. I visited her after losing sight in one eye from glaucoma, and she understood the changes that occurs when there is no sight, just complete darkness. So different from my prior specialist who exclaimed, "well, you don't have to worry about glaucoma any longer in that eye", after it went completely dark. Glaucoma is serious and you should see the best doctor for this. Doctor Alina Resnik, in my experience of having three prior glaucoma specialist, is heads and shoulders above the others. There its s no comparison between doctors that just see you as eyeballs and one who instructs you on how to apply the drops, and reminds you of the severe consequences of losing sight in any eye. read more

Extremely poor front office experience. Drivers license and insurance card not returned when copied. When contacted and drove back to the office to retrieve DL and insurance card told they were already mailed. However they weren't mailed to the address on the Driver's License but sent to an old address. One would assume these very important personal identifiers would not be just tossed in the mail but the patient contacted to see how best to return. Needless cost and infringement of Personal Health information. Cost 25.00 dollars, plus day at DMV. Don't trust with eye surgery if Protected Health Information is not respected with common decency. read more

Could be the best or the worst doctor in Orange County, that is not why I'm reviewing. What I am reviewing is the treatment I received. We arrived early, per instructions. After we filled out all the paperwork, we were told the price went up about 75 percent. We were beyond 700 dollars now, total. Why? We had to do scans. But, of course, we knew that. It's an eye Dr. That's why we asked ON THE PHONE CALL before scheduling the appointment. Yup, confirmed 400. Hmmm. A certain test that is a 15 to 30 dollar add on with other doctors were 175 dollars here, somehow. So, yeah, if you don't mind being treated merely as a tool for increasing the doctor's profits, without at least hiding it, then this is the place for you! It's a shame they're from my same alma mater. To top that off, because of my illness, that's 6 days gone from my life. I need to rest at least 3 days before being able to leave my home. Plus an hour and a half from the day itself. All because of a bait and switch. But hey, the office is clean! Although they don't do any of the covid checks posted on their Yelp page, FYI. Edit: I was here to check on the health of my retina, as I already had some damage and the doctor was supposed to help see if it is controlled. It's unfortunate to see the lack of compassion and humanity from a doctor. I hope I can see another doctor soon. read more

My eyes were fine there and I felt really safe under her care, but I had to return to France. Here the ophthalmologist I consulted are going very quickly and follow a strict protocol. Amazing in every way! My mom was referred here for cataract surgery but her situation was too far advanced and she required more extensive surgery. Most doctors just would have been done with her and moved on but Alena & Jacob spent about 40 minutes with us explaining in detail what was happening with the eyes, what needs to happen and the risks involved. Alena made a call to refer us into UCI then followed up with us two days later to make sure we were able to get the appointment and if we had any questions. I've never experienced a doctor that cared so much for my 80 year old mom's health to get nothing in return. Some doctors would have attempted surgery themself for the $$ but these two sincerely had my mom's best interest at heart. It has been over a decade since I was diagnosed with Glaucoma and I have lived in two different cities in Southern California, so I have had multiple experiences with different Glaucoma specialists. Dr. Aleana Reznik is by far the finest Glaucoma specialist I have ever had the good fortune to meet. She gives the most thorough and detailed intake exam I have ever had, performs all tests herself rather than relying on the often very limited skills of medical assistants, and has the most compassionate manner of relating to patients. This is not a practice run by a business conglomerate or certain universities where overbooking and under-caring are the norm. This is a practice of a caring and kind husband and wife team with a wonderful, helpful welcoming receptionist. If you ask to speak to a doctor you are not referred to a medical assistant who has as much medical training and knowledge about Glaucoma as the barista at Starbucks. Here you actually speak to an ophthalmologist who is also a trained Glaucoma specialist. Dr. Reznik explains things in a cogent, comprehensible, and clear manner. She is also truly gifted at handling the emotional aspects of this condition. If she ever wants to change careers her kind heart and deeply calming presence would make her an extraordinary psychiatrist. I am so delighted to have found this place. Both my 21 year old and 18 year old needed Lasik. I didn't think I could afford to do both at once but to my surprise the package the office put together for doing both on the same day made so much more sense than doing both kids a year apart.
