I recently established care here as a new patient after moving to OC about a year ago. The entire process, including booking an appointment online entering history, being seen, and checking out was incredibly smooth and pleasant. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted and seen by a very nice medical assistant, who took my history and did a series of standard tests. After this was done, it did not take very long for Dr. Michelle Chun to come see me. She made sure to review my history with me and understand all of the different things that I've tried in the past with regard to my glasses and contact lens prescription. She's incredibly warm and took the time to chat with me. When I told her that most of my work involves screen time/computer work, she immediately suggested blue light blocking contact lenses, which I had been interested in, but had not yet brought up. Dr. Michelle Chun - IPL for Dry Eyes Have dry eyes? I've suffered with uncomfortable dry eyes for the last several years. I used to wake up every morning with red, irritated, gritty eyes and constant discomfort throughout the day. I tried lubricant drops galore and several different treatments and regimens, but nothing gave more than temporary relief. Recently, I was referred to Dr. Michelle Chun to try a treatment called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), and it has truly been a life-changer for my eyes. I completed four treatments, and the difference is incredible--my eyes feel comfortable again, the redness has dramatically improved, and I no longer rely on drops all day long. Not only was the treatment effective, but Dr. Chun herself is absolutely amazing. Her chair-side manner is gentle, professional, and educational. Excellent, caring, professional service. I strongly and confidently recommend this business. I needed an urgent repair to for my eyeglasses and Kevin and his team came to my rescue. I had just arrived in Costa Mesa for a two week vacation. During my flight my only pair of eyeglasses dropped between the seats on the airplane. One of the lenses popped out and one arm was bent. After explaining the potential risk, Kevin, with caution, managed to reinsert the lens and reshaped the arm. Amazing and truly appreciated! Thereafter Kevin made sure my glasses were properly adjusted (two modifications) for comfort. Additionally, after watching how I tilted my head to read with my progressive lenses, Kevin educated me on how the prescription of progressive lenses could/should be modified based on the users preferred reading position and encouraged me to discuss my prescription with my eye doctor at home. What more can I say? A walk in repair with glasses purchased elsewhere and I was treated with commitment and care like a long term client. FLOE Optometry is great! My previous optometrist moved out of the area and recommended Dr. Chun at FLOE for a contact lens exam, and I couldn't be happier. (I'm very picky about my optometrists!) It's easy to make an appointment and all of the intake forms are emailed immediately so they can be filled out prior to the appointment. I walked in to the beautiful modern space and was promptly greeted and scanned for my temperature. Kevin was very nice and explained all of the tests he ran (and introduced some really cool advanced tech! For anyone afraid of the puff test, don't be - they have super cool machine and you can barely feel the air). Dr. Chun is so kind and friendly and took her time to explain everything during the exam. The exam was so quick because even the machine that tests your eyes (the 1 or 2, 2 or 3 one) is digital and so fast! Dr. Chun made me feel very comfortable throughout the exam. I finished off my visit chatting with Lisa, the office manager, who helped me place my order for contact lenses. Lisa is so awesome and knowledgeable about insurance coverage. I paid a small copay and a whatever my insurance didn't cover, and was on my way - but not without a bunch of free samples from Lisa and Dr. Chun! I had a terrible scar on my right eye cornea for about 25 to 30 years. It affected my vision and all daily activities, including driving on the road. Occasionally, I had some pain because of the scar blocking my vision. Throughout the years, I saw numerous ophthalmologists and inquired about removing the scar on the cornea. None of the ophthalmologists I saw knew how to remove it nor recommended removing the scar. Instead, I was given expensive scleral contact lenses or eyeglasses to help me see better. Recently, I found Dr. Jennifer Wu from One EyeCare in Costa Mesa, CA 92626, when I searched for PRK Lasik to fix my vision. I saw Dr. Wu, and she recommended surgically removing the scar from the cornea. Dr. Wu provided cases she had done throughout the years, and that was when I realized I found the right person to perform the surgery. On the day of the surgery, it was quick and smooth. I was in the surgery room for less than ten minutes, and she removed the scar. The vision of my right eye changed almost immediately. I immediately saw details of the surgery room ceiling, which was blurry before the surgery. It was amazing. After five days of recovery, my vision is much better than before. I no longer have blurry vision or pain in my right eye. I am still amazed by the surgery. I recommend Dr. Wu to anyone who needs corrective vision or cornea surgery. She is awesome! read more

For someone that has never had to wear or buy glasses before, the staff at Floe Optometry in Costa Mesa made my first experience SO enjoyable! I have astigmatism so have noticed that there is slight blurriness when driving at night, so I went to Floe Optometry to get some glasses. They walked me through the process and also helped me find some amazing styles of frames. I've always had a hard time finding sunglasses that fit my face shape, so I was a bit apprehensive because I was worried I would have to try many pairs to find ones that fit me. Luckily, Dr Chun and Lisa are also eyeglass stylists/specialist so they helped pick out and suggested frames that I wouldn't have known to pick myself! The coolest part of it all was to be able to see my glasses get made from start to finish, as they have a machine that cuts the lenses in order to fit your face - talk about a customized experience!. Not only did they make my first experience of buying glasses so wonderful, they are patient and very knowledgeable in answering all my questions that I had. I moved to the Irvine area a few years ago and being new to the area, I completed a random search through my insurance provider and was lucky to find Dr. Chun to be my local optometrist at her prior practice location. I don't have enough good things to say about Dr. Chun. She not only demonstrates stellar expertise and knowledge in the field, but she is the most patient, personable, and thorough optometrist I have ever been to. I would say the quality that I appreciate the most about Dr. Chun is her honesty and integrity. She has never tried to upsell me nor attempted to provide unsolicited advice to try to make me purchase more expensive services or products. Dr. Chun ensures I am thoroughly informed of options available to me and answers any questions I have about any options, products, or services. I personally felt that she is exceptionally receptive and responsive to my comfort not only in the office but with new lens types. I have been going to Dr. Chun for the past 5 years and I am so excited that she finally opened up her own practice! Dr. Chun is personable, efficient (important when I try to squeeze in an appointment before work or during lunch) and extremely knowledgeable. She truly knows what is best for my eyes. I have a really high prescription and suffer from dry eyes. I hate wearing glasses and always used to struggle with contact lenses that never fit well or would dry out half way through my day. After my first visit, she was able to recommend daily contacts that fit me perfectly and last me all day. I no longer struggle with dry eyes and annoying eye drops. I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Dr. Wu and her team at One EyeCare. I went to Dr. Wu for a second opinion after putting down a deposit on lasik elsewhere, she was extremely thorough and honest in her findings and recommended that I was a better candidate for ICL. At the first practice I had gone to, I had spent 6+ hours in their office and never even met with the Dr that would be doing my actual procedure. At my consultation Dr. Wu spent 2+ hours with me carefully measuring and remeasuring every detail of my eyes, she personally answered all of my many questions both pre and post surgery, her attention to every detail and expert knowledgeability made me feel she was absolutely the surgeon I wanted to work with. The day after the surgery I was fully functional, able to see, drive & work. I experienced no pain or discomfort during the actual surgery and the results are better than I could have ever expected. I yelped a few places and saw this office had a 5 star rating so I decided to give them a try. Sabrina was very friendly and greeted me with covid safety precautions as soon as I walked in. Dr. Chun was so thorough and gave me eye drops to help with my dry eyes and I also decided to order computer glasses. Such a let down. Should have known from the get go. Not only do the glasses not make it easier to see they actually make my vision worse! they have some sort of in-house lens thing but I can't get them clean for the life of me I can spray and wipe and there always still smeary, which I guess really shouldn't matter since I literally can't wear them anyway as even though I paid for them to be to where I can look up and see normally it doesn't matter both ways I cannot see it makes my vision more blurry. Best eye exams ever!! If you need an eye exam, I definitely recommend visiting this office! Dr. Angela Tsay and Dr. Michelle Chun were extremely friendly and detail oriented. They took the time to go over and explain every concern I had for myself and for my husband. Dr. Tsay was also amazing with my 3 year old son! I'd had been putting off getting my eyes examined for quite a few years in order to get replacement glasses for the pair I lost, which eventually led me into rushing to make an appointment with F.L.O.E. Optometry in Costa Mesa at the spur of the moment and I must say that I really lucked into doing business with this fine establishment. Dr. Chun is both personable and professional. Optical manager Lisa likewise is on the ball. They offer an efficient set-up without sacrificing a personal touch in customer care. It may cost more than other places like those optometrists at Target and Costco locations but F.L.O.E. Optometry uses more state-of-the-art testing equipment to give a thorough diagnosis from your eye examination. I also appreciated the health tips provided by both doctor and staff. Lisa pre-selected some frames to match my particular facial structure but I already had a specific design in mind elsewhere. However, I did have the lenses in my favorite tried-and-true sunglasses replaced with a new polarized set through them and my Oakleys have never looked or felt better. Apparently, this is the newest office from the original Irvine location with another in Fountain Valley. They may have a more limited selection with regards to eyeglass and sunglass frames, but based on my own personal experience and their reputation, I can't help but recommend F.L.O.E Optometry if you're particular with the health of your eyes and want best-in-class service at an affordable price. read more
