I found AWC HVAC services on Yelp on an early Sunday morning and notified them of the issue. Within a few hours, I was met with Joe who immediately recognized the problem (dual run capacitor) along with a few maintenance issues. Being that my unit is old, other vendors in the past , have immediately tried to pressure me to replace the whole unit. Joe on the other hand acknowledged it was old but that it could be fixed. To replace the dual capacitor and give the unit a nice tune up it was only $525. He broke apart the unit and conducted much needed maintenance. Joe did an outstanding job and his work ethic and character, speaks volume of the services provided. I will be referring this business to everyone.

My elderly parents live with our family in our home; my father is bed bound and has dementia. I only mention that because the rest of our family can leave the house and cool down. Monday morning, I call our homeowners warranty and get a tech from another company scheduled for Thursday afternoon. The house rose to 92 degrees when my wife found Green Comfort's number. After speaking with the admin she said that she could send a tech within the hour, and that he was nearby our home. When I told my wife, she said that I called the wrong company. We are on a tight budget and are amidst replacing the flooring in our kitchen due to a Summer pipe break that wreaked our kitchen. David arrived, very professional and personable. As he inspected our furnace and condenser unit we shared stories about being a father. He quickly assessed the problem and gave me a quote. I spoke to my wife and we quickly determined that we couldn't afford it, so I thanked him for coming out so quickly and declined the repair. Before I walked away he stopped me and said, "how much can you afford, you can't insult me with what that number is, I'll call my boss and ask if I can do the work, I can't let your dad stay in that hot house." I was shocked and couldn't understand his angle. We agreed on a price that we could absorb. He took a major cut; and we got cool air. What an amazing experience! It's rare that you come across a business that truly demonstrates empathy and care for their customers. Needless to say our family was blessed that day. God bless you David and God bless Green Comfort. You've just gained loyal customers. - The Aguirre's

The AC tech…read morewho originally installed the system had been unable to fix the problem, opting instead to keep filling the refrigerant as a band aid to keep the system going vice fixing it. With this ongoing heat wave, the AC was losing refrigerant at an alarming rate and my mom was having it done perhaps monthly and costs were piling up with the system still not fixed. This was when I finally tried to get a hold of Green Comfort after reading great reviews on Yelp. I initially got on Green Comfort's site and encouraged by how it's owned by a fellow Army veteran. I sent them an email via their site, on my mom's behalf since I live in FL, inquiring about an estimate for getting my mom's AC fixed. That message wasn't answered. My mom called them and while initially told her location is outside their service area, a tech named Perry came out to assess the issue on a Tuesday. Once he showed up, I spoke to him on the phone to let him know what's been done and to hear what his plan is to fix the system. He informed me that a 2-man team will have to come out to locate and fix the leak on Friday at 8 AM. My mom waited for AC tech from Green Comfort to show up at 8 AM Friday morning...and waited...and waited. She called the office repeatedly and a man named Franklin assured her that someone will show up. Noon came around then 5 PM and still no tech showed up. My mom waited all day and nobody from Green Comfort showed up and not even a courtesy phone call. Totally unprofessional! I even called them Saturday morning when they opened and nobody answered their phones. I even sent a message to the owner listed on Yelp and that was unanswered as well. With this ongoing heat wave, it is totally unacceptable and dangerous for an AC company to leave a customer, an elderly woman at that, on a lurch. At least have the decency to let a customer know the truth so other arrangements can be made.

We've had an ongoing issue of inconsistent cooling and heating, and the blower not always shutting down. The problem was diagnosed as a short in the system, and it was sourced at the AC condenser. Our decrepit system finally received it's first tune up in over a decade. It obviously appeared to have received a handyman special sometime in the distant past. After removing burnt wiring and electrical tape, Jason went ahead and replaced a string of daisy-chained capacitors with a single unit, and a worn relay. The AC refrigerant received a top off, and a new thermostat was installed. Mister Jason M. did an excellent job. He was definitely a life saver. The job was attended to quickly and done skillfully. After meeting with him and hearing him speak to other members of the company over the phone, I knew this was a special company. The employees spoke to each other like family. Once I submitted my signed contact online, Angel thanked me for choosing them and welcomed me to the family. Contract provides excellent warranty on parts and labor. Unit included install of ecobee smart thermostat, which I am in love with! Not sure how I got by all this time without one. By far the best quoted price out of the four I received. On the day of installation I received a text update with a photo and name of the lead installation technician Jon Neves. He and his team arrived right now time and finished the work exactly at their provided estimated completion time. The team placed a mat by the front door entrance to my house, which was a very nice touch, covered carpeted areas where they would be walking. After the job was complete they vacuumed their work space and it was like they weren't even in the house. The group of guys working in the installation took great care in everything they did. My installation required a crane to get the unit on top of my house and The Purple Crane was in and out quickly. The crane didn't disrupt my neighbors or even the trash service that morning. The crane was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Highly recommend Steve's 5 Star Service. They offer a service membership for less than $20 a month to handle HVAC tune ups, water heater flushes, and any service needs. You read that correctly, they also do plumbing!
