She stated that Anthony would come out the very next morning and see all options available. The very next morning, Anthony had completed a thorough and detailed estimate with pictures attached. The pricing was a lot lower than I even imagined, especially after dealing with another AC service provider (which I will never do business with again after the great service and pricing from Anthony and the crew). Was scheduled to have work start by 9/1 but received a call from Anthony advising that his crew would be out a day sooner to help with the heatwave. A new AC unit and furnace were installed along with everything that goes with it. They even did some drywall work! Anthony and the crew at Diamond Air are our go to ac and furnace providers. All 100+ very positive reviews and not a single negative review. As we all know, that's essentially nonexistent when dealing with the public in any capacity, particularly when it comes to the HVAC service industry. I gave them a call to schedule an estimate. Lisa answered and was amazing with accommodating my schedule and with all subsequent correspondence. Shane came out a couple days later, educated me on the new systems, patiently answered all my questions and took his time explaining in detail my options (I ended up going with the Bosch/heat pump. Quietest compressor I've ever witnessed). Shane sent over a quote that was less than another quote I had received and with many more upgraded options including a $2K federal tax credit. Much more overall value for my money. Shane's crew (Kevin, Rudy & Brandon) came out on the scheduled date and time and handled business to perfection. Removed my old stuff, installed the new equipment and made sure everything was working flawlessly before leaving that same day. The enter process was seamless. When the air conditioning stopped working, they told me the circuit board needed replacement. They said the part was under warranty, but I would still pay approximately $500 for the technician. I then spent nearly two months without working AC while waiting for this supposed repair. I finally called Southwest Heating & Air Conditioning for a second opinion. They came out, identified the actual problems, and restored the AC during the same visit--without replacing the circuit board NexGen said I needed. Southwest's written inspection documented several serious concerns with the original installation: * The system had been installed without an air filter. * The filter housing had been taped completely shut. * There were multiple wiring problems, including the system being wired incorrectly. * The plenum was leaking. * The ductwork was not adequately sized for the five-ton system. * A wireless sensor should have been installed on the third floor to help regulate airflow. * Additional repairs are still needed for the system to operate as it should. My advice to other homeowners: Do not assume an expensive part is the problem or wait for months without AC. Get a second opinion and ask the technician to check the filter housing, wiring, plenum, duct sizing, airflow, and sensors--especially after a new installation. I also had a similar pricing experience with NexGen's plumbing department. They quoted approximately $4,600 for work that another licensed company completed for about $860. After an incorrect diagnosis, two months without AC, poor communication, installation concerns, and extremely high pricing, I cannot recommend NexGen. I was also advised to report this matter to the California Contractors State License Board.

Unit included install of ecobee smart thermostat, which I am in love with! Not sure how I got by all this time without one. By far the best quoted price out of the four I received. On the day of installation I received a text update with a photo and name of the lead installation technician Jon Neves. My installation required a crane to get the unit on top of my house and The Purple Crane was in and out quickly. The crane didn't disrupt my neighbors or even the trash service that morning. They offer a service membership for less than $20 a month to handle HVAC tune ups, water heater flushes, and any service needs. You read that correctly, they also do plumbing! I'd purchased a replacement for another house years ago so just needed it installed. $398 for install only. Job took less than an hour. I did it because I didn't have a lot of time to get it done. I called around and could have gotten it done for 1/2 that. Lesson learned... I can't say I won't use them again but it would have to be for an emergency only, as they are super responsive.
