The house is amazing with no humidity and very little need for using our AC like you said. It's so nice to be cold in the middle of a warm afternoon without having to use the AC. It's nice to leave the windows open a small amount so that it works sufficiently. Can't do that when the AC is on. We have had Dan for our AC guy for well over 15 years. He was at our work office first and I had such a good rapport with him that he agreed to check out our home AC when other companies thought we should spend big dollars to replace. Amazingly it is still doing its job with simple replacement parts that need replacing from time to time. He is honest and does only what's necessary to keep our unit in good shape. Doesn't try to sell us stuff we don't need and taught us simple maintenance we need to do before he needs to be called for any repair. Total1 AC takes care of my newest office location as well. My review reflects only the initial diagnostic visit and the subsequent poor communication with the company I experienced through yelp. No actual repair work was done. I reached out to this HVAC company for a diagnosis, hoping to gain clarity on the issue with my AC unit. Unfortunately, my experience was not what I had anticipated. The pleasant and friendly technician who arrived seemed uncertain about the diagnosis and hesitant in his assessment. Despite paying $90 for the visit, I did not receive a clear explanation of the problem. When reviewing the indicator lights, he appeared unsure of what the codes meant and made an educated guess about the issue before preparing the invoice. Before finalizing it, he asked if he could simply list "contactor" as the problem. When I inquired about the cost of the repair, he quoted $300 but then suggested (kindly) I handle it myself, describing it as an easy plug-and-play fix. I expressed that I was not comfortable attempting any repairs on my own and would prefer a trained professional to take care of it, yet he continued to encourage me to do it myself. The most disappointing part of this experience was that, despite paying for a diagnosis, I was left without a clear understanding of the issue or confidence in the technician's assessment. Hoping to address my concerns, I kindly reached out to the owner 4 separate times through Yelp messages to inquire about the possibility of a 2nd opinion from another technician. Unfortunately, I never received a response. I initially chose this company based on strong reviews and thorough research, but unfortunately, my personal experience did not align with those expectations. And, it appears from the Yelp reviews solely that I may have been one of the unlucky few who had a not-so-good experience. It is disheartening to have spent money without receiving the level of service I had hoped for. I share this feedback not out of frustration (almost 2 months later), but in the hope that the company will take it as an opportunity to improve, ensuring future customers receive the clarity and professionalism they deserve. Note: I ended up seeking a 2nd opinion from another company servers days ago, who ended up resolving the issue (which was not the issue that Total 1 AC & Heating mentioned), and couldn't be happier. read more

The fact that the estimate may include all the bells and whistles that aren't even necessary is concerning. Very Disappointed. Called and tried to schedule a repair 1 week out and I never got a call back after a couple days (lady said she had to talk to the owner)....Called again 2 days later to confirm, and the lady said she didn't have her "notes" for me and she would need to talk to the owner again SMH! 2 days later and I tried calling for the third time, and she finally said they can't come out...I know it's a busy time of the year, but at least have some consideration of calling your customers back timely and say you can't do the work so that we can take our business elsewhere. read more

My AC unit wasn't working consistently and was told my AC needed to be replaced by Steve's 5 star service. My Carrier unit would be about 13k to be replaced. I was sure it was due to a power issue because my wife had to have a Nest installed, and ever since then the AC had been hardly working and only the fan would run. Long story short, I had Total1 come out for a second opinion. All my unit needed was a tune up and another wire hooked up to my Nest, cost $150. Very responsive and punctual company. I first called them for an emergency same day service for a blown fuse and they quickly fixed it for a very reasonable price. About a year later I had them out for a quick repair of the condenser and also for a quote for a new AC system and was advised to hold off on replacing my current unit for now because they're still functioning decently enough after the repair (this is after another company told me I needed to replace everything asap). Not really sure why a service company would charge a membership fee as I dont want to be a member of anything. Our AC unit went out on Tuesday morning. I researched on Yelp for AC repair business with 5 star reviews and also had seen their company on some FB community pages for Rancho Cucamonga. I called them and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. They said the tech would be here between 12p-2p. The tech (his name is Bekz) arrived at 12:10; he assessed the problem and determined that the AC capacitor went out. He said this is one of the most common issues they have when fixing ac units. The cost for the part was $230 (with a one year warranty). He replaced the part. The AC is cooling properly now. read more

In the middle of the night the day before Christmas Eve, our furnace got very loud. I called Total 1 the next morning but they couldn't send anyone out because of the holiday and they were giving their technicians a break for Christmas. (Good bosses). I had to call another well-known company and they were able to send someone out. Their technician said he would have to order a blower motor and assembly on Monday after the Xmas holiday. No heat for us from 12/24 to 12/27. Nobody's fault but, the timing was horrible with the winter storms. Monday I got the quote for $2,500. Yikes. I called Total 1 again and they remembered my call from last Thursday. They sent their technician the same day and he suggested I only need a motor. Fast forward I paid a fraction of the price from the other quote. I couldn't be happier. And most importantly, the fix worked and the furnace is quiet again. This is my go-to company. We have an addition on the back of our house that is connected to the central air conditioning system that just wasn't getting enough air flow. These guys came out and tried to sell me a complete re-do of the ducting and add a second air return duct(which is completely unnecessary). The estimate was $5K. We called another a/c company that made some modifications to the existing duct work and solved the issue for $400. This company has all 5 star reviews. Wow! After, ONLY 5 1/2 hours after I called, the technician, Alex showed up. Extremely, FAIR, and HONEST. What a blessing! After slightly more than an hour of troubleshooting, the heater's sensor board checked out fine. The only probable problem could be carbon build up on the heat sensor. He pulled it out and cleaned it, then ran a test. Everything checked out, but since he couldn't guarantee that was the problem, there was NO CHARGE. Who works for over an hour for FREE? Please realize that this is the 4th company I called out in a total of 5 years, and everyone else charged me over 1500 dollars and put me on "plans". They also quoted me that I should replace the unit. Why replace a 17 year old unit that does not have any sensors blinking? I WILL call Alex back for an AC tune up next season. It is a pleasure to recommend Total 1 AC. I requested a service contact in the middle of a heat wave. They responded promptly by email and to my phone call. The technician, Behz, arrived on time, was pleasant, and thorough. He answered all my questions and seemed interested in teaching. He was able to diagnose the problem rapidly and effect repairs. He also provided maintenance and then checked out both attics for their ducting and the main HVAC unit at my request. He explained the need for a future update due to my leaking freon and the need to eventually replace the unit with a puron unit. These guys were great from the first call! As I described my finicky furnace, Lynn provided a few helpful tips for me to potentially troubleshoot my furnace. As a result, I found some pretty filthy filters that I proceeded to change out today. Unfortunately the fix required more help, so Lynn organized for Dan to come out SAME DAY! When it's cold outside and the furnace doesn't work, this is a priority! Lynn gave me a two hour window and Dan arrived. He was friendly and helpful. After changing out an igniter (yes, he had one with him!) I was back in business, toasty warm. Dan actually instructed me how to change it myself, if I needed to replace the other unit. Dan also showed me how to clean my condenser coils to prepare for summer! All in all, these guys are fabulous. I will definitely keep their contact info if I need HVAC help in the future!
